Brent and I meet at a tour of an expensive wedding venue... where each of us was going to marry someone else.
We were dumped before what was supposed to be the best day of our lives.
So we decide to keep playing along with the wedding preparations. That way we won't lose out on our deposits or the free cake, and our jealous exes will realize they lost out on us.
But in planning the perfect fake wedding, we weren't expecting to develop real feelings.
Plus, the chemistry between us is out of this world hot.
From the moment he slips off the wedding dress I was trying on, to the moment he slips inside me, it's obvious we're a match made in heaven.
It's just pretend, though, and I can't let myself believe in happily ever afters any more.
This dashingly handsome, great in the sack, filthy rich fiance of mine is too good to be true... right?
I Pretend Do is a full length standalone romance featuring a dominant, billionaire alpha male and the curvy, feisty woman who wins his heart. It has no cheating and no cliffhangers, but a very happy ever after and plenty of steam. Bonus content is included for your continued reading enjoyment!
I have a confession to make! Fake mariage / fake relations books are my guilty pleasure.
This one was pretty good... Both H and h are grieving engagements that ended bad... They meet in a bar, have amazing chemistry and a ONS. Fate have them meet again in a venue for the their cancelled weddings... they pretend to be together to get the freebies... They end up being friends with benefits ;)
The worst thing is the drama in the middle that is out of place!! She because of her height and bullying by her ex-fiance and him because because of his money!! The characters change so much in this part that is disappointing!
I actually really liked this one. Eva is growing in her writing and I think it shows in this book. Brent and Amelia both have ex-fiance's that they are getting over. When they end up meeting at one of the get-togethers and decide to keep doing them together. They form a great friendship and a little note at the beginning. Amelia being on the bigger side does have issues with her body, but it is not something that overshadows the book. But comes up in better parts of the book. Brent is a wonderful character when it comes to this issue. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.
Oh, Amelia! You are a wonder. I’m captivated. Truly. And I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. Because, you may be a bit awkward… but you’re witty. And you’re really quite gorgeous. And funny. Just when my heart starts to ache for you, you turn it around and make me laugh out loud. I want to share a bagel with you and I want to help you plan the demise of not-so-sweet Violet.
Clubbing with your best friend was fun. I’ll pass on the alley sex though-- although Gustav-- uh, Brent-- was rather intriguing… Never mind. You’ll probably never see Brent again. Oh, wait!! Well, things are lookin’ up!
This book is so good…and so Funny, I had to take laugh breaks. Bottom line: 5-star Wonderful.
In this book, we have Brent, who was engaged and she ended the relationship, as Brent quit his high rise job to pursue an Art career. She didn't believe an artist's lifestyle was for her. Brent is also a billionaire thanks to his father's company and holdings. Brent likes waking up at 10a or 11a, and doing what he wants to do. As he was recently engaged, he had put in to go to a lot of wedding events around the NYC city. However, he no longer had a partner to go to these wedding outings with.
Amelia is a lawyer who also works with her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend. She has never had high self esteem and working with those two have given her very low esteem. She's never sure about herself or her actions any longer. Her best friend and co-worker, Rosa invites her out to a night of partying and not worrying. Amelia isn't sure she can just forget about the world, but, for one night she goes and gives it a try. She dances into Brent, who helps her forget about everything. As they were leaving the club to go back to one of their places, they make it into the alley way next to the club instead and have hot steamy sex in the alley way instead. They can't seem to leave each other alone. They want each other fast and hard.
The next day Amelia is going to a wedding location venue to view, and who does she also see? Brent of course. They start to talk and realize they have all the wedding venue stuff in common and agree to be each other's other so they can continue getting the free stuff, and free wine and champagne of course. Although, Brent and Amelia weren't looking for each other as a couple they found one another.
Amelia's ex starts to make her self doubt herself again and Brent is worried about her and there new relationship. Amelia isn't sure she is worthy of Brent's attention about her ex makes her not believe in herself again.
I did receive a free ARC copy of this book, I am freely leaving a review for.
Eva Luxe is a terrific author who never fails to have an interesting storyline, captures my imagination on the first page, has wonderful characters that seem to be so 'real' and make the story come alive before my eyes as I read the book and leading to a HEA.. In other words, she writes the perfect book for me. In this story I loved Brent and Amelia who meet one night whilst partying with friends after both their engagements are broken. her ex was a cheating rat and liar so she hasn't lost out there. Brent's ex didn't care about his feelings as she only cared that he wouldn't do what she wanted and work himself to death. When they meet the air sizzles with passion between them and they are having so much fun that their lust takes over and they spend one very HOT night together and they thought that would be that. However, so many events had already been paid for with the engagements that they, individually, decided to go enjoy what they'd paid for and still pretend to be engaged! When they meet each other again they can't believe it - but Fate was on their said that day and as they really like each other they agree to pretend they're engaged to each other and this friendship deepens over time as they have so much fun together. I loved the way that Brent did everything he could he try and boost Amelia's confidence which had really been destroyed by her ex. As the story unfolds you can see how their feelings for one another slowly develop into something so strong and unbelievably wonderful. The bonus materials are great reads too!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. This is one book that I will definitely be buying!! I'm now looking forward to her next romantic adventure :)
I don't know where to begin. So much is just plain wrong with this book. No...not book...short story. Pretend I Do is a really short mess and then the author throws a lot of other equally lacking romance stories into the mix. Why couldn't she be honest and tell readers that the book is more of a marketing anthology.
The titled story is definitely terrible at best. Both characters Amelia and Brent are not convincing on any level. Amelia is supposed to be a successful attorney, yet she is portrayed as a woman so insecure every move she makes needs to be validated by someone, usually her best friend.. She's like Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde. One minute she's self assured and demanding (in a good way) but usually only when it comes to sex, then the next she's a sniveling, dog-in-the-manger mess.
Brent supposedly has a secret. It's really not that much of a secret though, since Brent's mouth runs more than a leaky faucet. At one point, Amelia mentions that she works with her ex-fiance. Later in the book the subject comes up again as if had never been revealed earlier in the story. The ending is far from believable. In fact, it's down right UNbelievable, given Amelia's actions prior to the ending and the couple's past histories with their exes. The story doesn't come anywhere close to living up to the description presented to interested readers. Sad because I think if the author had taken her time and truly worked on this, it could have been good solid romance book worth reading.
The other short stories included are kind of crappy too. Since the author didn't feel the need to mention them. Beyond letting you know what you are in for...neither will I.
I voluntarily received an arc copy of this story for my honest review.
Cheating fiancé, broken promises, broken heart. Amelia fiancé broke up with her for a lady whom Amelia works with. It's been months and Amelia can't seem to move on. She still has the ring, she still has dreams of her ex at night. Worst of all she has to see the woman her ex dumped her for everyday at work. How nuts is that right. And now Amelia has to go on a tour at a venue that she wanted to have her wedding at, the only one she forgot to cancel.
Brent is also broken-hearted , he was broken up with for Simone else too. His one friend wants him to get out there, he's been in mourning for months. Brent is a self made millionaire and a good looking guy. So what happens when he meets Amelia. They meet at a club have a maybe one night stand and that's all. No there is much more now they are both visiting venues they supposed to be weddings were supposed to happen. Hilariously they end up at the same venue without partners. What do they do, partner up of course. Now they find themselves doing everything engaged couple do. They may find themselves falling for each other and maybe they might end up using these plans for their very own wedding. The pretending I do may become a real I do.
I really enjoyed this story it was sexy at some point, hilarious at others. It was almost like a romantic comedy I found myself laughing out loud at many points of this story. This is a story I will be reading again and again.
This was an interesting new storyline what do you do when you have wedding venues on deposit nonrefundable and your groom/bride to be have left you? You go and eat cake and get goodies like there is any other choice. Amelia and Brent were really fun and sweet I thought their ex's were just the right amount of evil and I love a happy ending. the only part that lacked for me was the storyline between Amelia and her best friend I thought the discord was tossed in to add drama and I really did not like the way it was done besides that I loved the book. I thought that Amelia and Brent complimented each other well and supported each other well, Amelia had a lot of emotional baggage from her ex and Brent worked hard to show her she was perfect the way she was I also liked that they were not 19 most of these books the main female lead is really young however Amerlia was the right parts of innocent and mature, I love Brents best friend and though she was a fun addition to the story in contrast to Amelia's. I did not read the bonus books I may later but this book was good and you will not be disappointed in it.
Adorable. Both Brent and Jessica has gotten out from a serious relationship. Their bestfriends suggested that they went to a bar. They hit it off and fucked at an alley. The next day, they rode in the same subway to a cake tour reservation at Crystal Plaza. They pretended to be a couple. They make out and fucked at his apartment. They agreed to go to all their wedding arrangement together. Brent and her friend Rosa supported her to apply for the Junior Partner position despite all her ex- asshole fiance Jason and Violet trash talk. Her self-esteem was broken and she thought she didnt deserve Brent. Brent told the balls are in her hands and in 8 weeks they will be married at the hall he booked. She invited him to meet her parents and celebrate her job promotion. She proposed to him. On their wedding day, they got news that Jason was fired because he tried to sexually attack a receptionist at the copy room. Huh raper! And Violet too was fired for creating a big scene of it at the office.

What a cute story. I loved the comedy and the connection to the characters. Overview. Amelia is a lawyer and stuck working with her ex-fiancé Jason and his new fiancé Violet. Seeing them daily was killing her. Her friend Rosa decided to take her to a popular expensive bar to dance and find a rebound. Something Amelia would never do. While dancing, she meets a sexy guy. They hit it off and decide to leave, but things get hot and heavy in an alley instead. The next day Amelia has to attend a wedding venue since she forgot to cancel it. But when she gets there, her mystery guy from last night is there too. Brent was mad that his ex fiancé set up everything and it's not refundable, so he goes for the free stuff. But the Crystal Plaza requires couples and both him and Amelia don't have a partner so they attend it together. Next thing they know they are attending several wedding venues together for fun. But fun keeps leading to the bedroom and a better bond. Soon love is born.
I have to admit I enjoy fake relationships turn real!! its a guilty pleasure!!! and i wanna thank Eva for this goodie!!!
Amelia has been going through a rough 6 months her ex-fiance cheating on her with her co-worker explaining to all your family the wedding is canceled and feeling unworthy...So Amelia best friend Rosa wants to take her out enjoy the night they go out.. and thats where Amelia meets the handsome artist Brent.. dancing and doing the dirty in an alley these two have been hooked with one another.
They share some cute awesome adventures from Brents canceled wedding stuff for well free stuff lol and learn how to fall in love again ;D
I enjoyed this story so much it has amazing friends, hot sex, drama and feels!! go grab this book its a very awesome story!!
Funny caring Rich male Shy adorable curvy gal background charas Female Friendships Fetish for spankings ;D so much hot sex No cheating Drama HEA EP
Nothing much to write about this amazing story. Eva Luxe has done it again. Very well written short story with great storyline and plot. Full of expanse and hotness. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable. I like the twists and the challenges the story has. I like the main characters and how they develop. The story flows nicely and it is very captivating from first to last chapter.
The story is with a twist and a very enjoyable read. The epilogue is very welcomed and gives the story more to it and it finishes better of than without it. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. There are laughs, family issues, drama, passion, emotions, hot scenes, twists and lots of chemistry in this amazing story.
The author has delivered a story that is worth the read!
I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is just great, both of the characters have been.....dumped, lol. Amelia has self-esteem issues because of her ex and Brent has ex-issues as well. They bump and....grind...at the club knowing they will never see one another again. They are definitely attracted to one another sexually, lol. They end up spending more time together and ease right into a relationship without really realizing it. I like that they quickly form a friendship. Amelia is really stronger than she gives herself credit for and her best friend Rosa is a gem and encourages & supports her. Brent is pretty much down to earth and what you see is what you get, he's rich but not arrogant or conceited about it, his best friend Nikki is the keep it real type. I enjoyed their story, it's engaging, entertaining, romantic, sexy and even at times humorous.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!
I actually enjoyed this book up until the last four chapters. It was great in a way of telling how they fell in love, how it started and how they continued to do so through fake wedding shenanigans. However, what was really lacking was Amelia's character. She was so nieve when it came to her ex and his bimbo. How could she honestly take away any thing he says at face value. And when she goes to Brent to end it all of the sudden marriage is a real discussion just because of a reservation. It all seemed really fake in the end after so much real genuineness in the first and middle chapters. It could have been a little more thought out to make a stellar ending.
I read this book as part of an arc program. I really enjoyed this book, I loved how playful Brent and Amelia were. Amelia was a young lawyer who was suddenly single when she caught her fiancé cheating on her. Amelia forgot to cancel the wedding booking tours and she decided to go anyway so she didn't lose her money. Brent also recently broke his engagement and decided to go to the tours as well because he figured he paid for them so he should enjoy them. When Brent and Amelia first met at a club, they have a heated encounter in the alley and then parted ways. When they each arrive at the wedding tour, they pretend to be each other's fiancé so they can do the tour and enjoy the freebies. This was a good book that will have you laughing out loud. Another good one.
What a great book! I was laughing my way through most of this book and I absolutley loved it! The idea behind this plotline is genius really and was so fun to read. And the heat between these two just made the book even better! Eva Luxe certainly tapped her funny bone with this and it is my favorite book of hers to date. Great read! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Hero, Brent = 5/5 Heroine, Amelia = 5/5 Chemistry = 5/5 Sex = 5/5 Plot = 5/5 Mystery = 2/5 Action = 1/5 Darkness = 1/5 Humor = 4/5 POV = dual Would I recommend this book = yes Would I re-read this book = yes Would I read future books by this author = yes
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed this book. I found it witty and funny as well as steamy and sexy. Amelia and Brent were such a great couple. I loved the banter between them and the fact that even though both had failed engagements they both didn't want to turn down the perks that came with the tours they had signed up for. The fact that they first met at a bar and had an encounter and then unknowingly meet again the next day was hilarious. From there things just keep getting better and better. This story kept me wanting to keep reading until the end. It is a well written story and I highly recommend it. Great ending!
This was a sweet love story between two strangers who meet at a bar. Never intending to meet again, they find their selves on the same train and then at the same wedding venue. The plot was different and interesting. I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't put it down until I finished it. I thought Brent and Amelia made a great couple. What I didn't get was why he was secretive about who he was? It didn't make sense once I found out that some girl wanted his autograph unless she really did think he was someone else. I loved that the "villains", Jason (Amelia's ex) and Violet ending up getting what they deserve.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book...
Wasn't quite what I was expecting but overall it was an enjoyable read. I actually like both Brent and Amelia. They are both coming off of broken engagements when they have a one night stand. After that, they run into each other at a wedding venue and things just take off from there. Even though they meet each other at the different wedding tours just to hang out with each other. Eventually they develop real feelings. The main problem for Amelia though is she still works with her ex-fiance. She still hears him in her heard and after a run in at work, starts believe that she isn't good enough for Brent. I liked the ending because it was unexpected and sweet.
I Pretend Do is an excellent book. A humorous read that introduces you to Amelia and Brent. Who have amazing chemistry, an insta-attraction and are so obviously perfect for each other. A really fun story about a fake romance that turns into a love that is more real than anything they've ever had before. Can something that started out as make believe create a love that lasts? Read this super fun and enjoyable book to find out. I'm posting an honest, voluntary review after reading an advance copy of this book.
Amelia couldn't believe her Ex had left her to cancel all their wedding plans after cheating on her with another lawyer at their office. When her friend convinces her she needed to let her hair down she has a one night stand that becomes more. Brent is dealing with the plans his Ex had paid for with his money when he runs into his one night stand and starts to heal them both. A friendship born from their similar situations that will have you laughing, hot and bothered as well routing for them to be happy. Great story that could be based on a true one that probably has happened.
This is a great feel good quick read about what love should be about and taking a chance on what is right for you. Amelia is fun, witty, loveable and insecure, which just makes her all the more realistic. Brent is sweet, sexy, and kind and will have you falling in love. The chemistry between these two is amazing and their story will keep you hooked from beginning to end. This is definitely one that is well worth getting, you won't be disappointed. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.
Amelia and Brent meet in a club. They have a one night stand. Fate plays a hand when they both turn up at the same place for a tour of wedding venues, and free gifts!! They have to fake being each other fiance's to continue the tours. They decide to keep up the charade to continue sampling wedding stuff for free. Each weekend they meet, they get to know each other better. What happens when they want their fake engagement to be real? Can these two live happily ever after? Another winner from Eva Luxe.
All of Eva Luxe's novel synopsis makes me want to read said but some have fallen short of that delivery I expected. This novel delivered. Fake relation, sex and humour, three search criteria I often look for in a story. I returned to write this bit of a review while I had already moved on to read two more of Ms. Luxe's novels 'Lucky Charm' (just okay) and 'Mountain Billionaire' (really liked). The style that these books are written draws me back even when I am sometimes rating on the lower end.
Not the first book I’ve read with this plot line but this is probably one of the funniest I’ve read in this trope. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Amelia and Brent! The writing style and use of time and words made this book enjoyable. It’s fast paced but not rushed and the dual POV is A++! A definite recommendation! I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
I have voluntarily read and reviewed this book after receiving an advanced copy.
I really enjoyed reading this book about Amelia and Brent. A good twist to the Fake Fiance genre. They have both been dumped by their partners but they still attend the scheduled pre- wedding appointments. At the wedding venue they are forced together due to it being couples only. They hit it off and very quickly develop feelings for each other.
The short chapters make it very quick and easy to read.
Brent and Amelia met when touring a wedding venue for their weddings to other people. After they each were dumped they continued to meet at the venue as a ruse for not losing their deposits. Crazy story and crazy, over the top chemistry for these two. Their attraction increases the more they are together and this I pretend becomes less hard to do. A cute story with some twists and surprises. A great ending . I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review
I Pretend Do by Eva Luxe is a fantastic book. I must admit, I have not read much of Ms. Luxe's work, but I definitely recommend reading this one. Amelia and Brent hit it off from the very first moment they see each other. This book will take you on a journey full of laughter and tears. I will be reading more of Ms. Luxe's books in the near future. I received this book as an ARC and voluntarily leave this review. This is my honest opinion of this book.
Brent and Amelia were both engaged to someone else, but when those plans fell apart, and they ended up meeting, it was fate stepping in. This book had me in stitches with its laugh out loud moments as well as its emotionally engaging moments. Brent and Amelia;s characters connected well, and though they never thought they'd be saying "I Do" after their failed engagements, it was entertaining and fun watching them get their second chance at love.
3.5 stars I didn't like it as much as I thought I would. I had several issues with it. In my opinion it's not as good as it could be, it has more potential. The character of Brent was more likeable than Amelia. I didn't understand why she was so hung op on the opinion of her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend. So much even that she let it interfere with her new relationship. It's not bad but definitely not the author's best work.
