Son!

Rate this book
Many believers have forfeited the blessings and benefits that are theirs as children of God by buying into the lie that we are saved to serve. The message of this series is that there is a far higher calling upon Christians. We have been predestined to be sons and daughters of the Living God. Our service is not the basis of our acceptance not the purpose for our redemption. The basis of our sonship is the fruit of a relationship of intimacy with the Father. In this, John's first book, he deals with some pressing questions, the answers to which will liberate the people of God to have their lives and relationships with God radically altered. Why are some earnest and sincere Christians unable to receive healing? Why do some live in poverty and lack? Why do many feel as though they are outsiders looking in or stepchildren to the Heavenly Father? Discover the joy of being a child of God as John describes his own journey from the servants' quarters to the Father's table and from servitude to sonship!

3.5/5 stars. This book was great (although my overall rating might confuse you when I say that). Ultimately, whether this book blows you away will be a point of revelation and timing. The writing isn't anything remarkable, nor do I think that he has an incredible revelation that I have not heard before. I will say that because of where I am at, there were some things that hit me in a very important - possibly life changing - way. It is a good read and worthy of your time.

It was Amazing, totally gave me a new perspective on how I should be living and viewing myself and God as His child and not just a servant. Yes I serve Him, but it is from a place of intimacy and love and nothing else. I can crawl up into His lap and feel Him wrap His arms around me and it is out of that place that I serve Him.

This is an amazing book that will deepen your intimacy with God as it helps you to shift from interacting with God from a mindset of performance, striving, earning to one of trusting, receiving and living from your identity as a son of God.

This book is complimenting what I'm already reading. So true to what I have experienced myself in my relationship with my Father.
