Two years ago, Octavia met her caveman, Matt Hansen, and fell in love. Since then, life has found its rhythm and it’s a good one. Matt and his brother Kaden have opened their own car repair shop—Mancave—and Octavia is expecting her first child. But not everything is perfect in paradise. Mary, Matt’s young daughter, has started having nightmares, Octavia’s sister Gigi is having boy trouble, and Merc, their brother, trouble with girls. Then Evan, Matt’s best buddy back in Destiny, asks for help after an accident—and the trip turns complicated when Octavia makes it her mission to locate and save her half-brother Ross from himself. Octavia wants everyone around her to be happy. Matt is determined to safeguard their family’s happy ending.
One way or another, love will find a way…
Author note: This is NOT a standalone novel. It is the epilogue to CAVEMAN and UNDONE. You need to read at least CAVEMAN before you read MANCAVE. Novel-length book.

Jo Raven is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, best known for her series Inked Brotherhood and Damage Control. She writes edgy, contemporary New Adult romance with sexy bad boys and strong-willed heroines. She writes about MME fighters and tattoo artists, dark pasts that bleed into the present, loyalty and raw emotion. Add to that breathtaking suspense, super-hot sex scenes and a happy ending, and you have a Jo Raven® story.
Eek! There is nothing as amazing and glorious as returning to a fictional world created by the ever so talented author Jo Raven. I couldn't wait to be back in the arms of the hottest beast around, Matt and his gorgeous Octavia. If you thought they were burning up the sheets in the beginning of their story Caveman, hold onto your libidos because they are completely on fire in Mancave and they are full angst and passion that is sure to twist your heart strings and your panties!
Even though Matt Hansen was reformed from his feral state with the love of Octavia two years ago, the caveman in him still fears that something will harm his family so he still goes into protective mode which gets Octavia and readers hot and bothered. I can't even explain in words how seductive Matt is with his wild looks and need to keep his family safe...it makes me all warm and gooey inside! I loved getting some more up close and personal time with this beyond sexy bear of a man!
Octavia has grown and matured so much since meeting her in Caveman and I still feel like she is a little sister I want to protect, not to mention her cute little baby bump! It was like coming home getting to be in this innocent, loving, and inquisitive heroine's presence and see overcome obstacles and continue to love her family with all her might!
Jo Raven brought me to tears and left me on fire with another visit to one of my favorite fictional couples. I highly recommend Mancave for another tumble in the sheets and love with Matt and Octavia. There is nothing better than visiting amazing couples and getting another taste of Jo Raven's scorching hot angst. She never fails to illicit a myriad of emotions and leave us just a little more in love with her characters, whether they have bad ass ink or sexy blue mohawks, they are always gorgeous, troubled, and hot, hot, hot!
First thing you need to know about this book is that it is not a standalone. Mancave is the extended epilogue to Caveman. Also, this book loosely ties into Jo's Inked Brotherhood series being that the hero here is Matt Hansen who is Zane's step brother-in-law. Long, sad, and intense story there. You absolutely don't have to read that series to follow Caveman or Mancave however if you are a junkies for sexy, inked tortured heroes, than Inked Brotherhood is a series you won't want to miss.
Since this book is the epilogue you already know our couple, Octavia and Matt have had a happy ending. From this point on in this review, if you haven't yet read Caveman, I suggest you stop reading here as there may be things that spoil that book for you.....
Matt and Octavia have a love that just keeps growing with every moment they are together. Matt is intensely possessive and protective of his family. Since meeting and falling in love with Octavia, Matt's family dynamic has grown extending to Octavia's family. In addition, they are expecting a baby of their own. While Matt and Octavia are solid in their relationship, their family and even close friends are going through some issues that are heartbreaking and worrisome. Both Octavia and Matt literally set out to fix everyone's problems. While doing so, they grow even closer, their love stronger, if that is even possible. Some issues they try to fix can be solved but toners need more time.
As the book continues, we watch how Matt and Octavia handle certain situations with their loved-ones. And at the same time, Jo Raven teases us with what will certainly be more books. There are at least 4 more books coming from this series. In addition, if you want to read about Matt's brother Kaden and his bumpy road to happily-ever-after, check out his story which is told in Trouble Maker & Undone.
I have read every book from this author. I am a huge fan and have been one since she released her debut book, Asher which is the first book of the Inked Brotherhood. The series that started it all!
Jo Raven is that author that gives us intense and complex characters. Her heroes will break your heart over and over while her great talent for storytelling heals them before your eyes. Her heroines are the perfect match for those tortured boys. In addition, Jo is not afraid to show us that torture, which is why these boys are hurting so badly. You will cry. You will be shocked. You will be relieved and so happy with her HEAs because they are beyond deserved. So if you haven't yet checked out this author, I highly recommend you do. If you have then you know exactly what I'm talking about.
This is my heartfelt, honest review. Thank you for taking the time to read it. I hope you will love Jo's books as much as I do.
This is a great epilogue followup read to CAVEMAN AND UNDONEby Jo Raven. You will have to have read CAVEMAN to read Mancave. This book is an amazing look into how Matt and his beautiful Octavia are doing. It gets up back into their amazing world and the drama that is going on. I immediately was drawn back into their lives and its like I never was away. In this book, 2 years have gone by and Matt and Octiva finally have each other and are ready to have their first child. Things seem good but just when things seem ok, trouble comes calling and that’s when Matt and Octavia have to go back to where it all started to get it handled –back home. There is drama, angst, pain, anger and loss. There is also a lot of love and happiness. I wasn’t sure which was going to come out on top because there were some twists and turns in this story. There was no epilogue in this story to let the reader know how everything turned out but it seems there will be a story for Gigi so Im hoping there will be a followup on how Matt and Octavia are doing then. I do feel in a way that Matt still has some unresolved feelings for his deceased wife and that makes me wonder. Maybe in future stories that will be addressed but as for this story, I loved it and I loved Mr. Caveman Matt and sassy Octavia. I was hooked on this story and disliked how the story seemingly ended on a HFN ending but glad to hear that there will be more stories in this world with characters in this series.
My Rating: 4.7 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Another great read from Jo I loved these characters right from Mancave and this one did not disappoint Poor Evan I felt so bad for him. full of passion, heartbreak and a whole lot of love I will be sad it's ended but I look forward to what comes next from this author Would Matt be my book boyfriend? hell yes, i will have Matt Evan and Kaden!
It's been a while since I had the pleasure of reading on of Jo's books. I can see how far her writing has come along and I have to say, I loved this book! It completely blew me away! I was hooked from the very first page and struggled to put it down, as I usually find happens when in the presence of Jo Raven's work. This one was no exception.
It was an incredible read, well written and the characters were all great with a differse mix of personalities. Loved how sensitive Cole was, how attuned he was to his family and friends. Loved Octavia... Including her name! She's the sweetest little thing.
I'm sat here hoping that we get Evan's story, I really want to know what happens with him and little Melissa.
Incredible. Gripping. Emotional. This book is all of these things and more and can't wait to see what this author brings out next!
Jo Raven has done it again. She takes you on a journey that will leave you satisfied yet wanting more at the same time. I absolutely love these characters. I love how Jo has woven some past characters into this storyline. However don’t be worried if you haven’t read other series by Jo Raven she does it in a way that you won’t feel like you’ve missed anything...yet if you have meet the characters before it just enhances the feel goods in you.
“You’re still way too coherent,” he growls, and looks up at me, dark eyes flashing with amusement and arousal. “Clearly, I need to up my game.”
This book will have you feeling so many emotions...love, jealousy, fear, redemption, friendship, peace, protective, uneasiness and acceptance. You also can’t miss the chemistry zipping throughout the entire book *fans self*.
“I’ll save my time and energy for those who love me, those who earned a place in my heart.”
So this is not a standalone. I had to go back and read Caveman to know what in the world was going on. We get to revisit everyone from the first book and his step brother in law's story. So if you read this and haven't read any other book you are kind of screwed.
This one brings you a couple years down the road where Matt and Octavia are expecting their first baby together and are hoping for their happy ever after. But when Matt and Octavia have to go help family out things just might come up.
This is an emotional rollercoaster. But a good story.
This review is so hard to write and there were so many reasons for it. However, my rating reflects how Jo Raven brought her characters to life, rather than any other deciding factor.
So, i may be a tad defective - i love dark and angsty books, and Mancave felt like fluff and unicorns. It was full of broken characters whose lives together is perfect but always expected something to go wrong. At times it became frustrating.
Here's why i had troubles - maybe having had read the previous instalment in the series would have made a difference, may i would have built a rapport between what happened to the characters and why they're acting the way they are now. Or maybe i shouldn't have hoped for a huge catastrophe to happen and just sat back and enjoyed.
It really was well written - that Jo Raven can do hands down, but Mancave is a book i'll have to try again at a later date and hope it gets my attention more thouroughly.
I loved this story. It was nice catching up with old friends and there was a certain part that made me cry. I definitely hadn't expected that. If you like Jo's writing then this is a no brainer it was amazing. You need to read Caveman before you read this one (as always I recommend reading all of her work). The story is gritty and real at the same time. Brilliant work as always.
I love these books by Jo Raven, her writing flows flawlessly throughout the whole book and you swoon with every word. Matt and Octiva finally have each other and is ready to have their first child but there is trouble back home they need to face and when you find out what happens you will finally see the truth and some of the reasons why Matt is such a caveman!! I could not put this book down!!
What can I say! Jo Raven has done it again! I absolutely loved this book! It was great getting to revisit old characters and seeing how they progressed in the story! looking forward to any more from this particular author!
Warning! You must have read Caveman to read this book!
This book is a few years down the road since Caveman. Matt and Tay are doing well but their pasts seem to still be lingering in the background.
Matt gets a call from Evan an old co-worker asking for help. Evan has had an accident and Matt is worried about him. He decides to go back to their home town and look after him for a few days. Tay decides she wants to go with him. She's pregnant and Matt isn't keen but he relents as he can't say no to her.
Tay has her own reasons for returning to her old home town. Her half brother Ross. Her mom has told Tay some things she heard about him and Tay is worried. So much so she has a really bad feeling her nightmares might come true. He was always mean to her but she needs to reach out to him. Surely there's good in everyone? If she can just talk to him.
Matt is still suffering with anxiety that something is going to go wrong. He's so happy now but he's had that before but then lost it. He's worried about Evan and his brother Kaden. He's stressing over Tay and his kids Cole and Mary and basically everything. He's doing his best to deal though and Tay always grounds him.
It's amazing to catch up with Matt and Tay again! It's great to see them building their lives and still being so much in love! Also to see the kids growing up and all of them becoming a solid family they all deserve.
It did really quite upset me seeing Matt still struggle though. It was heartbreaking reading his stress about basically everyone he loves. He's so committed to making sure he's there for everyone and at times it felt like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. I know there are more to come in this series and i'm hoping as the series unravel's we'll see Matt more relaxed and able to enjoy his family without stress.
This book is a what happened next story and also a prelude of whats to come. I'm pretty much intrigued by all the characters, Gigi who is Tay's sister, Evan and his big secret he revealed, and Ross!!! Not sure if he can be redeemed but i'm looking forward to finding out!! And also Sydney who is Gigi's friend.... Now that's one that can't come soon enough! lol
Great read which has teased me ruthlessly with what's to come from the rest of this series!!
Their family has resettled in a new city with so many happy moments confirming their decision. Octavia is fulfilling her educational goals, their family is growing, and Matt's professional life owning a garage with his brother Kaden is shaping up to be everything he's ever wanted. When a call from their past comes they don't hesitate to offer aid and rush back to Destiny. What awaits them isn't what they expected. Family drama of many kinds threaten to derail their happiness and while Octavia wants so much to heal everyone, Matt sees the darker side of things and just wants to protect his family.
Evan Morales needs help. He's in an untenable situation with work and home and Matt is a friend he can count on. Ross, Octavia's bully of a half-brother, is getting out of prison but she can't shake the feeling that if she doesn't step in he's on the road to a terrible fate. Mary is slowly pulling away and neither Matt nor Octavia can figure out what's creating the distance between them and their little girl. Both Octavia and Matt are having a hard time figuring out which way is up when everything is crashing down on them.
The solutions to a lot of the issues were pretty much right in them but it took nearly 3/4 of the way in to the story for them to see it. There was a lot of sexy times which helps to keep Matt and Octavia strong and connected but they were also so scattered that they couldn't see the forest for the trees sometimes. A lot of the book left me feeling like they were repeating the same things over and over when new information was revealed and I was glad the book wasn't any longer because I don't think I could have waited any longer for them to come to the conclusions that were staring them in the face.
Despite the voice still being clipped for both MC's their happiness is more apparent. Things are settling and they're coming to a sense of peace by the end that I really enjoyed. I'm actually looking forward to reading Evan's story and Ross' story should the ever be written.
We met Matt and Octavia (Tay) in the previous book Caveman, which you will have to read first in order to read this. As we start Matt and Tay are married and have exciting news. Matt is finally getting a grasp on his anxiety with Tay’s help but the past stills haunts him. Himself and his brother Kaden have opened up their own garage. Things are perfect and life is good but life is never smooth sailing. Everyone in this story gets a dose of reality from Matt to Merc. It is just not Octavia and Matt we are brought up to speed on. Heading back to Destiny to help out a friend is not ideal but both Matt nor Tay are going to say no to Evan. Back in Destiny though lay all their problems they left behind, namily Tay’s non-existent father. There is not a lot of anything good for them left in town besides Evan and a handful of good memories. Tay’s half brother has been on her mind and in her dreams lately, and as much as Matt wants to hide her away. She sets her mind to trying to see the good. To me, he was too far gone of a bad egg to have much good seep through at the moment. Their father had a heavy impact on his character and until he realizes he isn’t his father, it will not be undone. Mancave is all together an update on Matt and Tay’s life together (with their extended family) and being parents. There is of course a dose of drama and a heavy dose of reality that both of them learn. You can’t control everything, not everything is what it seems. I see the set up for possible stories for Gigi, Merc, and even perhaps Evan. It would be nice to see him get things turned around and rid of his father Jasper.
This woman has me wrapped around her fingers because once I have a glimpse that she has a new book I can't wait to have it. It doesn't matter if it's day or night because once I have it I need to start reading asap. Jo Raven is amazing. Her books shows just that. One minute she's writting a sexy as hell book, but in the other she's writting an intense and breathtaking story. Mancave is her latest release and continues to tell the stories of Octavia and Matt. But I need to tell you something first. In order for you to understand this story you need to read Caveman and Undone first because if you don't you will not be able to understand this one. Trust me on this. Like you know, Octavia and Matt are together and they are super happy but things started to happen that if they aren't properly solved their relationship might be in jeopardy. It was so good to have news from these characters. I've love them from the previous books and this one just came to reinforce my love. I knew it would be amazing and I want more. The plot is intense and beautiful with everything we love as well as some hot stuff into the mix. The interation between the characters continues to be beautiful and their chemistry is stronger than ever. I was hooked from the first page and when I saw The End I was mad. Mad because I wanted to keep reading and reading and it was over so fast. Oh Jo... What are you doing to me? I'm even more in love with your books and I can't wait for the rest of these characters to have their own stories. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
I really enjoyed this epilogue, which is an extension on from Caveman. It’s possible that you may read this without stepping foot into the Caveman world, but to understand all the emotions entirely within this story, it is best to have read Caveman first.
I had so many emotions reading this one. I loved the fact that we are reading a couple of years down the track. The love between Matt and Octavia burns hot and their chemistry is explosive. Matt’s love for his family is strong and he shows that through Mancave. A couple of sections of this novel made me cry, the emotions were pretty strong in them. I really felt for Mary with her fears, the poor girl. It made me so sad. I know Ross isn’t a great guy but I feel he is in so much pain inside himself, it causes him to lash out at people. I really felt for his character. I loved that we got to see a lot of characters from various books written by Jo. When you spend so much time reading a series, you feel like you are part of that world, so reading this book made me feel like I was being visited by old friends and that made me happy. Reading ‘Jo Says’ at the end of this book has gotten me excited for future possible releases and I seriously can not wait! Although some questions still linger after reading Mancave, I’m confident that these questions will be answered in the future releases from Jo. I can’t wait!
3.5 stars Arc provided for an honest review. The book is set two years from the end of Caveman, Octavia has graduated college and has a happy bonus on the way. Matt and Octavia are called back to Destiny to help Evan, and Octavia sets out on a mission to help her undeserving half-brother. I have mixed feelings about this. I liked it much more than Caveman. Matt and Octavia have come a little way since then, and he doesn’t fail to express his love often, and she seems more mature. However, I felt like too much time was given to his deceased wife, Emma. The way he is still so torn up over her, I feel like if he could, he’d take any opportunity to have Emma back. So, I didn’t feel like he was completely invested in Octavia, she felt like more of a crutch for him to deal with Emma’s loss. I’m still not completely sold on their relationship based on his inner turmoil over Emma. Chapter 16 – that one was a tear jerker. Mary is a little girl perhaps in need of counseling, she was holding onto a big fear. I’m really surprised they hadn’t gotten to this point before. At first, I was disappointed in not having an epilogue, but I see that Gigi will get a book so that we can know what happens.
I fell in love with Octavia and Matt when I read Caveman, so I was just a *little* (EXTREMELY EXTRA FANGIRL LEVEL) excited to get my hands on Mancave. I missed these two and their adorable family! Even excited to dive right back in with one of my favorite couples I was still totally unprepared for how much I got sucked into this book. A complete roller coaster of emotion and anticipation for what was going to happen next that literally had me biting my nails this one had me hooked!
Matt is still the perfectly delectable caveman who loves his woman and children with a ferocity that can’t be beat. He’s also still sexy as hell, with him and Octavia practically melted my kindle more than once! I don’t think I’ll ever stop loving his caveman ways. Octavia is still as sweet as ever. Lovingly looking after all of her family, even the ones who don’t want it. Catching up with this couple was so wonderful, but what really made this book irresistible was everything new that was happening.
Definitely not a short quick recap on their happy new life, this is a full fledged book that continues their story and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I can’t wait for more! I’m going to need books for, well, just every other character if that’s cool? Just feed my addiction to these books!
Told from multiple POVs, Mancave tells the story of what happens with the Hansen men, their women and kids after Caveman, Troublemaker, and Untold. Centered mostly on Octavia and Matt Hansen, and set two years after they meet, the happy couple are expecting their third kid (since Matt already had two from his previous marriage). While returning to the city where they first met to help a friend in need, Octavia hopes to also help her half-brother to find his happy place after a stint in prison. The same half-brother who tormented her during her teenage years. Matt isn't thrilled about it, but he'd do anything to make Octavia happy, so he goes along with it. Meanwhile, Kaden is pushing to take on more responsibilities at their garage, hoping to convince his big brother that he is more than ready and fit for it. Matt is struggling to let go of his protective streak. He's always been the one to look out for his kids, Octavia and his little brother. But he knows he needs to let go some. Finding a new balance is what this book is all about. The balance where brothers, their women, and kids fit and are happy. A balance where the past is the past and they can build a future that is good for them all.
❤️🌼🔥MANCAVE ....JO RAVEN IS 3 FOR 3 IN THE WILD MEN SERIES❤️🌼🔥 I loved CAVEMAN, UNDONE and now MANCAVE....I have a pretty good feeling I’m going to love the entire WILD MEN series...The characters she gives us are characters I love about ....Gorgeous, sexy, dirty-talking all alpha males and the good women who love them are not quiet, submissive (except when they want to be) little mice...they are strong, beautiful inside and out and intelligent, and they love their men as hard as their men love them...Jo Raven knows how to give us interesting characters in an interesting story with the right combination of sexy and sweet..❤️🌼🔥 I’m so happy Jo Raven gave Matt and Octavia their happily ever after...I am a new fan of Jo Raven’s and I’ll admit I may be a tad shallow, but I’m honest enough to admit I love the covers of the WILDMEN Series too...I like being able to picture the men on the book covers as I read the books, and even though that’s not always the case, it is in the WILD MEN Series...❤️🌼🔥 I’m sure I will see more glimpses of Matt and Octavia in the remaining WILD MEN books and the ones yet to be written, but I feel satisfied with the “happy ending” for Matt and Octavia in MANCAVE, and if I get to read anymore about them, it will just be icing on the cake...❤️🌼🔥
When I got this I was a little worried as it is a sequel and I have not read Caveman, as I thought I was not going to be able to understand what was going on or who all the people in the story were and how they were connected to Matt and Octavia. But Jo has done a fantastic job with this story. If I had a chance to read Caveman before hand I would have but at the same time it is not necessary.
Now in regards to this book. WOW! This book will have you wanting more. It will have you going through many emotions, it’ll have you feeling jealous of the relationship between Matt and Octavia, love, happiness, anger, fear and relief.
Matt is still dealing with the anxiety he got after his late wife dies. But with the love of Octavia and his kids Emma and Cole he is able to get through the darkness that comes over him. Matt wants to make sure everyone he loves are safe and protected, but with Octavia being pregnant he’s protectiveness goes into over drive, especially when Matt and Tati go back to Destiny to help Evan out after his accident.
Well done Jo and I look forward to reading Gigi, Evan and Merc’s stories in the future xx
I’m not going to lie, I had been waiting a long time for this book, Caveman was the very first book of Jo’s that I read and the characters will hold a special place in my heart. Jo certainly brought her A game to this book. It follows on from caveman, the golden years epilogue and the epilogue of Undone featuring Matts brother Kaden. I love how Jo got right into the characters heads and cracks them open for us to understand, and allows us to develop attachments to other characters introduced to the story. I don’t want to give away spoilers but I know Jo has wanted to write about Ross Jones for a while, and I’ll be honest I couldn’t see how she could, he was the enemy and a bully, but in true Jo style she 360ed my feeling on him and I really can’t wait to read more and hope she writes his story soon. Mancave successfully sets up the stories of Gigi and Merc, and possibly an older couple romance with their mother. I look forward to seeing more of Matt and Octavia and their growing family in the next novels, and guest appearances from the inked brotherhood and damaged boys are always most welcome.
This book is a fantastic follow up to Caveman and gives you a look into Matt and Octavia's life 2 years after leaving Destiny and moving to St Louis. I loved this book as it gave me exactly what I wanted after I finished reading Caveman. It was great to catch up with all the gang again. It had me laughing ,crying and most of all had me feeling happy whilst reading it. I fell in love with brooding Matt in caveman and nothing has changed. His family and all its extensions are still a tight bond and his kids Cole and Mary are still the lovable children we all love too. It has a few hard hitting moments but nothing Matt and Octavia couldn't handle together. Their love for each other shines bright from the pages and it makes you swoon away. I loved reading this book and I actually read it in a few hours as there was no chance I was stopping this story before I'd read it all. If you read Caveman and loved it as much as I did then I highly recommend you one click this book as soon as you can. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
This book can absolutely NOT be read as a standalone! You have to read Caveman before (and I recommend reading Undone before as well), toget a grip on the characters and actions taking place in this book. That being said, I really liked this novella. It’s kind of an extended epilogue to both, Caveman and Undone and it ws nice to meet up with all of my beloved characters again. Contrary to popular belief the author is able to NOT torture her bad boys in every book. This one is one of the exceptions. It felt calm and peaceful to read about Matt and Octavia again. They helped their friend and untangled a few new plots that I hope will be solved in future books. I enjoyed reading this book, because it was a short and fast paced read that was easy to start and finish. I liked the glimpses we got on other (formerly detested) characters that gave them a new twist and made me want to read more about them. If you have read Caveman and Undone, this book should definitely be a one-click for you!
This book is really more of an extended epilogue to Caveman. It follows Matt and Octavia’s story, so it’s helpful to read that first.
Now married and with a baby on the way, Matt and Octavia are pretty happy. Matt has his own business, Octavia’s just graduated, things are going good for them. So when Matt’s friend Evan reaches out asking for help, they’re more than willing to lend a hand. Leaving the kids with family, Matt and Tay travel back to Destiny, the town they just escaped from, and encounter some minor drama in the meantime.
The story is sweet and heartwarming, but also slow and uneventful. It was nice getting a deeper look into the HEA of Matt and Octavia, but it’s not very exciting and not much happens. And with the exception of Mary’s problem (vague to prevent spoilers), nothing else gets resolved. It just – stops.
This is a nice story that would probably be best attached to the end Caveman and maybe shortened a bit. I love Jo Raven’s writing, and this story was cute, but a little unnecessary.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
4.5 Stars This book made me so happy. I liked Caveman but after reading still wanted more which this story provided. Mancave is the continuation of Matt and Octavia’s story. They have a lot to deal with but the beauty is they have each other. This story has so much heart and really shows how Octavia has really helped Matt change and find happiness in each other. Matt is amazing, showing us his softer though still protective side. Oh you won’t be disappointed with the steaminess of this couple either(fan myself). I am guessing this book is going to bridge into some other awesome reads by this author(clap my hands). She continues to excel at teasing us with other characters. OMG you really get some snippets of brokenness mixed with a variety of questions (wink wink). It was also wonderful to get time with some beloved characters from previous books (YEAH). I definitely recommend this book! Happy Reading!
3.5 Stars Jo Raven pens another great story. I've had the pleasure of reading a few of her books Mancave being the latest. I didn't read Caveman but I intend to now (smiles)
Even not reading the first book this story is full of emotions you can feel sad, the glad. the excitement as well as the passion. Just enough detail that had me flipping through the pages. wiping your eyes, grasping your chest. (smiles)
I did have to wonder if Matt was totally invested in Octavia, I realize that when someone you love passes you don't just "move on" you have a bit of baggage. But it just seemed to me like Matt wasn't giving Tavia his 100%. He seemed still pretty wrapped up in his dead wife.
Being around family you don't have a chance to brood too much, too much going on to let the darkness keep you. With everything happening and by the end of the book I did change my feelings toward Matt a bit.
If you've like Jo Raven before you will love her Mancave! grab it read it and enjoy.
Whats not to love? Well getting to catch up on some great characters from Caveman has been great! You don’t have to read caveman but why not it was great and it’ll give a great background for you. Matt has come so far with his love for Octavia. They make such a great little family. The kids have grown , its cute. Well we explore how a family expands and grows through sharing others troubles. Octavia is pregnant and some of you may know that pregnant women are more sensitive to the world around them. They understand and feel more than your everyday person. She grows and takes Matt with her. Its a beautiful journey watching him yet again expand and grow into a better more open man than you’d think possible. I loved loved this book. Jo Raven just keeps writing great. I read this book voluntarily for an honest review. I read it in one sitting couldn’t put it down. I hope you like it as much ad I did. Enjoy!!
Mancave is the sequel to Caveman, so if you haven't already you should read this first. Also, it would be helpful, but not necessary to read Undone about Kaden and Hailey. There is also a tie in with the Inked Brotherhood and Damage Control series, which if you haven't already should be added to your TBR. I loved checking in with Octavia and Matt. I loved these characters in Caveman, this damaged, broken man and the girl who despite her challenges has this amazing faith in people. In Mancave we see this even more and although Matt has found Octavia his past still haunts him. Jo Raven develops amazing characters and amazing stories. I love how her stories are set in the same world and that we get random check ins with other characters. The secondary characters that are in this book are also fantastic and I can't wait to hear more about them in further books. All in all if you love Jo Raven and have read Caveman I would recommend you read this ASAP!
Mancave by Jo Raven is the follow up to Caveman and not a standalone. You must read Caveman first. Two years after Matt and Octavia found their HEA the story continues. The family moved away and build a new life. The couple and the kids are happy. But because Matt is a worrier and worry is in his blood things are not as easy as they could be. Put a pregnancy, nightmares, a cry for help and estranged family in the mix and you have a perfect picture what Matt has to deal with. I loved Caveman, Matt´s broodiness and Octavia´s lovable stubborness. And now their story continues - Yay ! I couldn´t wait to read what happens to them. I had high expectations and I was not disappointed, not at all ! Jo Raven gave me a beautifully thought out, beautifully told and beautifuuly written novel. I love the story, the characters and her writing. I recommend Mancave and give 5 stars!
