Celebration #2

Reservations for Two

Rate this book
Manager of a popular Italian restaurant in the small town of Celebration, tall, charming, and incredibly handsome Loren Hamilton can have any woman he wants. Trouble is, the woman he wants is the one who’s never forgiven him for breaking her heart. Asked to be best man at his friend’s wedding, his feelings are mixed when he finds out who the maid of honor will be. Deciding to accept the opportunity fate is handing him, he sets out to prove once and for all that he can be trusted, and, hopefully, win over the love of his life in the process. Madison Sinclair had hoped her years away from Celebration – and Loren – would lessen her feelings for him. She couldn’t have been more wrong. Since moving back to town to open her own business, she’s been successful at avoiding her ex-boyfriend at every turn, and then the bride extends an invitation for her to participate in the wedding. Resigning herself to the fact that she’ll be in close contact with Loren leading up to the festivities, she gradually lowers her guard, allowing herself hope that he’s changed - until a misunderstanding leads once again to heartbreak. Loren attempts to explain the circumstances surrounding the incident but is rebuffed by Madison, so he makes a last-ditch effort to reach her in true dramatic fashion. Stunned by his originality, now it’s Madison’s turn to reciprocate on the most romantic day of the year – Valentine’s Day.

It wasn’t until later in life that Kristine Raymond figured out what she wanted to be when she grew up, an epiphany that occurred in 2013 when she sat down and began writing her first novel. Over a dozen books in multiple genres later, there are a multitude of ideas floating around in her head thus assuring she’ll never be idle.

When a spare moment does present itself, she fills it by navigating the publishing and promotional side of the business. When not doing that, she spends time with her husband and furbabies (not necessarily in that order) at their home in south-central Kentucky, gardens, reads, or binge-watches Netflix.

Such a delightful story!
Ms. Raymond knows how to write an enchanting romance. One that keeps your attention and has a wonderful lesson tucked in there, amongst the pages. That, no matter how much we may hurt from the past, there is still hope at finding and honoring true love, now and in the future. After all, true love doesn't lessen through time, it may just be camouflaged a bit. I love that Ms. Raymond always keeps her stories clean. She doesn't have all of the graphic details of intimacy, she keeps us using our own imagination for that. Instead, she focuses on the emotion, the connection between the characters, that brings with it the chemistry.
This Author easily slid into being one of my top 3 Author's and I am sure that that won't ever change. No matter my mood, or state of mind, I will read whatever it is that she writes. It is that sensational!

Reservations for Two by Kristine Raymond is a short read that put in the Valentine's Day spirit.
High school sweethearts, Loren and Madison, were inseparable and planned to marry, until Loren's one moment of weakness drove a wedge between them. Twenty years later, with Loren a success in the restaurant business and Madison moving back to town and opening a florist shop, neither has married... and still loves the other deeply.

I enjoyed these two, and the different avenues each has taken to mask the pain that lies deep within. Loren is a ladies man and Madison has kept to herself. But when they're thrown together as maid of honor and best man at their friends' wedding, old hurts and betrayals resurface resulting in insults and poor behavior. Calling a truce so as not to ruin the wedding, the love neither can forget draws them together toward the happy ever after they've both wanted for so long. Or maybe not...

This is the 1st story I've read by Kristine Raymond, but it won't be the last. Follow these fantastic author, as she has a great knack for story-telling and wrenching up emotion.

What a cute story! The characters are strong, determined individuals but they are afraid to go after what they really want. The story line is wonderful, showing true love never dies, even after two decades. Great book, talented author, a must read!
