WARNING: CLIFFHANGER!!! This book has a MAJOR cliffhanger that is wrapped up in March in Atlantis! If you don't like cliffhangers, wait and read both together!!
Poseidon's Warrior Jake spent years exploring the world and developing a cool, laid-back exterior to mask the turmoil of emotion he's fighting so hard to control. But when he rescues what his boat-mates think is a mermaid (she's a Sea Fae; mermaids don't exist) and Poseidon himself hurls him into the middle of missions to protect humanity, Jake's surfer-boy disguise won't last for long.
And when he meets human-turned-falcon-shifter Savannah in the middle of a deadly hostage situation, the protective instincts — and perhaps the madness — that Jake has held bottled up for so long is about to explode.
Fighting his own instincts, his soul's longing for his mate, and a dangerous group of human nationalists who want to destroy everything — and everyone — supernatural, Jake will have to discover what is most important to him. And he'll have to do all of this — while falling in love — in FEBRUARY IN ATLANTIS.
Warning: This book contains magic, Atlantis, Poseidon, warriors, human nationalists, falcon shifters, an armed standoff, a surfer boy, a king and queen, the FBI Paranormal Operations division, a black sheep, bad boys, paranormal romance, fantasy, matchmaking, laughter, danger, kisses, and a happily ever after.
ALYSSA DAY is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of romantasy, paranormal romance, and mystery novels whose books have sold more than a million copies and been translated into many languages, although she’s holding out for Klingon. She has lived with and battled chronic depression for her entire life and finally admitted it to her family—and the world—in 2014. Life is better now, because depression lies and tells us we’re alone.
We’re not.
Alyssa (as Alesia Holliday) is a diehard Buckeye from The Ohio State University who graduated summa cum laude from Capital University Law School in Ohio and practiced as a trial lawyer for several years before coming to her senses and letting the voices in her head loose on paper. She has lived all over the country and all over the world, including the Philippines, Turkey, and Japan.
When she’s not traveling to new adventures, she lives in Florida with her Navy Guy husband, spends time with her two amazing kids, and rescues dogs.
Continuing on in her theme of A Year in Atlantis, this book follows Savannah, a carefree woman who works temp jobs just long enough to get some cash to travel, then does it again. She's in Florida temping for a company that as she's stuffing envelopes, she finds out is a human supremacist group. Well, she's not down with that, so she chews out her boss. They convince her to stay through the next day, or they won't give her a reference, which means no more temp jobs, and actually, no more job. Needing money and the good reference, she agrees to work 3 hours only to hand out the tote bags at the conference the next day.
Mad she had to go against her morals, she drinks her sorrows away at a bar. When her friend goes and hooks up with some guy, she's stuck with some creeps who won't leave her alone. Until she meets Jake. But in the scuffle, she gets scratched somehow, propositions Jake, and passes out all in the same few minutes.
The next morning, she wakes, alone, and gets ready to go pass out tote bags to the stupid anti-paranormals. While she's there, guess who she gives a tote bag to? Yep, Jake! And also? The jerks from last night.
Jake is there undercover, and he claims Savannah as his girl to protect her from the jerks. But of course it doesn't end there. However, the story pretty much does.
This ends with the mother of all cliffhangers. Seriously. Except, it's less cliffhanger and more like this series is a serial. This month's installment is leaving us wanting. Luckily the next book is out, so you wont' have to wait like I did.
I have to say that it's abrupt and kind of frustrating, but at least you get a Happy For Now type ending, knowing that Jake and Savannah have a plan and that they'll be back soon in March In Atlantis.
The second novella in the Atlantis warrior series. Can be read as a stand alone but it does end with a cliff hanger. More it’s not a complete story but expected to wrap in the March book.
Instant connection and sparks between the hero and heroine. It seems they have both been wandering, incomplete until now. I like how instant attraction pulls a couple together quickly. Moves quickly and held my attention. Looking forward to book 3.
Riveting, fast read. I loved Savannah's attitude and giving spirit. I also loved the fact that while neither Jake nor Savannah haven't always made the best decisions about how to payroll their adventures, they own their decisions and the consequence that result. Great chemistry between the two main characters.
Warning! Whopper of a cliff-hanger! Thankfully timed perfectly. Can't wait to read "March in Atlantis".
February in Atlantis: A Poseidon’s Warriors romance By Alyssa Day
This is Jake’s story (well the beginning of). He got drafted in the new Elite Warriors headed by Denal, one of Poseidon’s Original Warriors, after he saved a mermain (not really a mermaid, but a Sea Fae). Now he is headed to Florida where a Human Elitist group is planning to kill all supernatural beings. His job is to stop them and the shifters who have infiltrated them and are trying to infect them or kill them. Savannah is a wanderer. She works for a worldwide temp agency that allows her to work for a time and save up money for her next adventure. She is in Florida right now, working for Human Prime, the group planning to kill everyone not human. She meets Jake on the beach the night after she decides to quit Human Prime, and the night she gets infected by Falcon shifter. They end up trapped in an old jail where H Prime is holding their gathering, Savannah is starting the change (which is usually deadly to human females) and Jake can’t make contact with his team. Can Jake save them? Can he save the innocents locked in with them? The innocents being the small children the members of H Prime brought. You are going to wait till March in Atlantis to find out…. Because it is midnight on the 28th and March 1st has started when Jake gets a code red call from his team. Can’t wait for the next book. This is a five star read. If you like the Poseidon Warrior's series, this are must buys for your collection. If you like hot warriors that live in Atlantis, this is a series of quick reads you need to pick up.
Alyssa Day -February in Atlantis: A Poseidon’s Warriors Paranormal Romance
The Atlantis series by Alyssa Day has always been a favorite of mine, she has created a detailed world and characters to fully immerse yourself in. So, when the author announced there will be a year of one Atlantis Poseidon’s Warriors book released a month I was ecstatic. Each month concentrates on one of the new Elite Warriors group that is led by Denal. This month is Jake’s story. Although he looks to be an easy going “Surfer Dude” on the outside, he is a tough focused warrior. His current assignment is to intercept a group that is racist against any paranormal beings, and on top of that there is a counter group looking to infiltrate this “Humane Prime” convention and cause some serious violence. Savannah loves to travel and takes temporary assignments all over providing her a way to see the world. It took a couple of weeks before Savannah finds out what kind of human elitist group Human Prime is and she is horrified. Worse her boss has blackmailed her into working the next day when she tries to quit. From the time they meet Jake and Savannah feel a strong connection. Savannah ends up being drawn into this dangerous assignment the Poseidon’s Warriors face. Loved this addition to the series (despite the cliffhanger) and am so glad it wont be long until “March in Atlantis” is released.
Poseidon's Warrior Jake, son of Adeodatus: happy childhood... but parents and friends died in a plague that only hit part of Atlantis (under the sea)... he went wandering the world, until called by Poseidon to be a warrior - when he was threatened for trying to defend a water fae (not mermaid) from a ship crew that is too mercenary...
Savannah Hastings: a wanderer, an adventurer... misfit in family, highly criticized... she funds her traveling with temp jobs from a world-wide temp agency... she's on the way to Madagascar, and took a 3 week job with a Human's First organization - but oops - they promote violence against the other (shifters, vampires, fae... and atlanteans)... she tries to extricate herself and quit, but when a co-worker begs her to help with the registration to an event, and the boss threatens to make sure the temp company won't send her on any other jobs, she swallows her morals, and agrees.
She connects with Jake at a bar - love at first sight... but she caught the eye of a hawk shifter/drummer - who scratched her.
they are both at the event... they confide their true feelings... they have sex and soul melding... he takes her away - trying to get her to Atlantis to counter the shifting virus... but can't get through, and is called to return, as one of their 3 is caught and he is needed... hmmm - here comes March...

'February in Atlantis' by Alyssa Day is the second book in her "Poseidon's Warriors" series. It's been a while since I've been able to visit this series but I'm so glad to be back and able to catch up. This time, we meet Jake who was born and raised in Atlantis. He'd lived there until a plague was brought down into their city under the dome and wound up killing his parents, and several others, in his neighborhood. That's when he went through the portal taking him topside. Wandering and traveling the globe he eventually found himself on a ship that had caught a woman in their net and rendered her unconscious. An altercation of epic proportions occurs bringing Poseidon into the picture. Eventually Jake explains he must return to Atlantis in the service of Poseidon. Poseidon takes great glee at these works and pops Jake back to Atlantis to work with his Warriors. Read the blurb. The storyline has a bit of comic relief during the drama and angst with the deadly group these warriors are trying to save humanity from. And then there's the heated chemistry of a fated mate situation that just crackles through the pages. It's an adrenaline-filled adventure that leaves the reader with a cliffhanger but not to worry, it's a fairly quick read that allowed me to have enough time to pick up the next one. I can't wait.
"February in Atlantis" by Alyssa Day. Book 2 in Poseidon's Warriors series.
I liked it. This book is about Jake, one of Poseidon's newest warriors and Savannah, a human woman who finds herself working for a paranormal hate group.
Jake is one of Poseidon's newest warriors and his mission is to infiltrate a hate group. He may have just found his way in when he meets Savannah. Savannah is a temp, traveling the world and working wherever she goes. She never expected to get a job for a group of nationalists trying to destroy all paranormal creatures. When Jake and Savannah meet, the attraction between them is explosive. But there's no time for falling in love. Not when teammates are in trouble.
This book ends on a major CLIFFHANGER. Unfortunately, even though it's September, the next book "March in Atlantis" did not come out yet. The author states that "March in Atlantis" will be out later this month. I can't wait to see what happens to Savannah and if Jake will be able to save his teammates! I've been waiting a long time for the next book so hopefully it will be out soon.
Received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Whenever I read a Warriors of Poseidon book it feels like I've come to visit really old & good friends! Each book transports me to the incredibly beautiful & mysterious world of Atlantis! Alyssa Day always writes with such a vivid imagination that you can't help but get caught up in the story and feel like you are a part of it!! February in Atlantis is about Jake & Savannah, how they meet and the battles they face, which are continued in March in Atlantis. Their attraction to each other is instantaneous as soon as their eyes meet & at first it is quite confusing. Along with some of Poseidon's new Warriors they fight against a group humans & shifters who want to eliminate all shifters including young innocents. I forgot that this book has a cliffhanger & while cliffhangers are frustrating for sure, this one keeps you waiting in breathless anticipation for the next book!! I can hardly "wait" for March in Atlantis!! A very good read & I give February in Atlantis 5 🌟's!!!
This latest book in the Poseidon’s Warriors series is a great interlude. There was romance, action, mystery, and humor all rolled up in a great package. We are introduced to Savannah, Jake’s mate, and I really loved her character! She was very forthright, and I loved her feistiness. Ms. Day is excellent at making a few words seem so full of plot and greatness which is why I love her writing. Be warned there was a cliffhanger, but I wasn’t taken aback by it; it just made me anxious for the next book. I can’t wait to see what the next book holds for us readers, and I can’t wait for the other characters to meet their matches. Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.
I can't believe she left it hanging!!! I would have bought March regardless, since I totally miss the Warriors of Atlantis, but this book stopped way too soon.Had I known that there was such a limited story, I would have waited until March came out before I bought February. Alyssa is a great writer, so naturally the book is good and exciting, but if you read as much as I do, stopping like that is problematic. It is hard to wait an entire month and then pick up a story thread. Regardless, the little bit that was in this one was great. The new Warriors are just as conflicted asa the last group!
Alysssa Day first hooked me with her Atlantis series. I bought and read every single one of them. :) When I found out that she would have the "next generation" so to speak I was in Heaven. There will be 12, one for each month. I would highly recommend reading January in Atlantis first. If you don't you will still be able to understand book 2, but why sell yourself short. I sincerely appreciate that Alyssa Day let us all know this would be a cliff hanger. I laughed out loud in parts, and absolutely loved that this book had everything, suspense, mystery, romance and of course Poseidon. Thank you for the arc and the opportunity to indulge myself.
After rescuing a fae ‘mermaid’, Jake found himself shanghaied by Poseidon into Denal’s dozen. Their current mission is looking into and stopping a national hate group against supernaturals. After a meeting with an informant at a bar he meets Savannah.
She’s been backpacking around the world taking odd jobs here and there to save up the money for her next adventure. But instead of a trip to Madagascar, Savannah has found out she been working for the same hate group and has trouble getting out of it.
Cute little story but I hate cliff hangers.
Fave scenes: Jake meeting Poseidon, Savannah waking up the morning after and flying.
This is the second of the Year in Atlantis books and while they can stand alone you’d benefit at least from reading January first just for a little familiarity with Atlantis and the world.
I’ve been with the Warriors for such a long time now they are all familiar to me and I’m always happy to dive into new Atlantis stories. This was no exception, I loved Jake from January and was happy it was his story next. Both Jake and Savannah are engaging protagonists and I like the other warriors popping in and out. But can you say cliffhanger? Good grief. Is it March yet?
Fabulous read, however it left a cliff hanger and didn't really finish the book until book 3 in the series. I found that frustrating. The author could have combined the two books into a single book and had a great book. I love Alyssa's writing and I found this book a little surprising because she didn't finish the story in this book. Luckily I had the 3rd book in the series already so I went straight into it. Together both books are great. They are worth reading, just make sure you have both of them before you start book 2.
Jake, son of Adeodatus, thought that he was helping the Fae that was captured by the ship he was in. However Poseidon has other plans for him like becoming a warrior for him. Savannah Hastings works as a temp for Humanity Prime and when she finds out that they are just like the KKK. But Savannah must finish the week or she won't have a job in order to travel the world. Be prepare for a cliffhanger that will leave a reader wanting more!!!! Alyssa Day is a shinning star in writing.
Really glad Ms. Day warned us this has a major cliffhanger, because I would have really been upset. This is the second book of this year long series, each book covers new couples and each of the new Warriors under Denal's leadership. So far they have been really good with great adventures and missions for Poseidon. Reminiscent of the beginning books in the original series with lots of action, and romances. Not going to give any spoilers!
Alyssa Day has done it again! I have been following her books since the original Warriors of Poseidon series, so I was more than excited to hear that she was doing a year of companion novellas. More of the world I love, yes please. I have loved them all, and this one is no different. The sparks between Savannah and Jake are electric. I found myself clinging to every word, desperate to know what was going to happen. Then, BOOM, cliffhanger! I cannot wait to read the next one.
I received an ARC copy for review from one of my favorite authors, and as always, i was in for a thrill ride. Suspenseful and passionate two very diverse characters are drawn into a world of threats, violence, hatred, Jake and Savannah, must work together to stop dark forces determinied to destroy those who are other than "human".
Jake has always traveled and gotten by until saving a Water Fey puts him face to face with Poseidon. Wonderful story with a cliffhanger that makes you say what... Alyssa bring us another Warrior and heroine who are as strong as they are human. This getting a warrior once a month of a year is gonna leave 2018 the hottest year ever!
This was a great book until the ending. I hate cliffhangers. The author promised to wrap up the fate of these characters in the book, March in Atlantis. It was supposed to be available by March 26,1208. I'm reading this in June 2018 and the book is still not available. I hope it is out soon.
Left in the middle of the book! We were going along and suddenly it ends. Savannah is working as a temp. She hates the company and tries to leave but her boss blackmail her into staying. She meets Jake at a bar. They meet again at the retreat. It's crazy. Evil people. Shifters.
Jake and Savannah. I love her character. She's fun and takes no crap from anyone. And I love how Jake doesn't hold her back. I ca2nt wait to have more interaction with them.
I loved this story! I've been anxious to read it but was waiting until "March In Atlantis" was available so I could move right to the next book. It's an amazing series and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Jake and Savannah was a good February story even with a cliffhanger ending and I have to say that was a little disappointing I love my Atlantis stories to be complete with a HEA this one left on a cliffhanger felt unfinished basically half a story but it was still a good start.
I loved it. The Characters Jake, and Savannah are easy to like. Both have baggage from a troubled childhood. They are able to find strength for each other. Be ready to jump into 'March in Atlantis', as it leaves you hanging at a pivotal moment.
