No one who has ever met Cameron Stone would describe him as exciting or adventurous. His routine is simple, safe, and he firmly rejects spontaneity in all its various forms. He has a job he loves, a family who supports him, and friends who never try to push him past his comfort zone.

Life is good. In fact, his life is perfect—until one chance encounter turns his meticulously organized world upside down.

Asher Dare is everything Cameron isn’t. He’s gorgeous, charming, outspoken, and not afraid to take what he wants. He’s also an arrogant, pushy, serial playboy with commitment issues and a revolving door to his bedroom. In other words, exactly the type of temptation Cameron doesn’t need.

Still, nothing says he can’t flirt. It’s just drinks, one dance, a kiss or two. What could possibly go wrong?

Did Not Finish

I wanted something escapist, and oh boy did I get it. But it was an escape too far. Please, reality, let me back in.

If OVER THE TOP is your thing, do I have a book for you! Starring an author who earned so many millions (billions?) of dollars from his books -- as one does -- that he lives in decadent spendour in a spectacular mansion, and is so gorgeous, so sexy, so self-confident, so charismatic, so utterly irresistible -- you know, your typical best-selling author -- that young men practically swoon in his studly presence. Hot young things are practically (perhaps actually? I didn't read far enough to know for sure) lining up for the privilege of being offered a turn -- one time only, of course! -- in his bed.

Enter: The sweet, shy, demure, possibly-not-virginal-but-only-because-it's-the-21st-century heroine. Ooops, I mean HERO. The other HERO. Because this is m/m, not m/f, right? Riiiiiiiiiight?

Their gazes lock, and -- well, you can take it from there, I'm sure. The heroine shy hero does not actually swoon, but he does stumble when first confronted with the sheer raw glory of the best-selling author's manly physique. But hey, who wouldn't?

I only made it through the first chapter, and I swear that cost me brain cells I'll never get back. Of course, just because I can't handle it doesn't mean it couldn't be fun for someone else! If you need some escapism, and aren't afraid you might never find your way back to reality after an excursion like this -- then go for it.

This book was pretty amazing. Is there anything better than manwhore meets and falls for shy guy!? I really liked this book. Asher is a famous author who is a manwhore with a pretty tragic past. He uses his cockiness as a mask to hide his loneliness and vulnerabilities. I really ended up loving him way more than I thought I would. He was always up front and honest with his hookups. However, he's struck dumb when he meets shy and staid Cameron. Cameron is left pretty speechless when he meets his favorite author. He's really speechless when said author hits on him. He is not a hookup kind of guy. The friendship/relationship that follows is beautiful to read about. They date and take things slow. Asher agrees to give Cameron time to be comfortable. Cameron might come off as shy, but he's also got a backbone. He doesn't take shit, and he doesn't run when Asher tries to push him away. The only downside was not knowing this was the first in a series!?😵 I know obviously it says book 1, but I thought it would be a series featuring different characters. I NEED THE REST NOW!!!! The secondary characters were just as wonderful and interesting. I see my tbr getting filled with this author's books, and I'm looking so forward to it.

Warning: Plot Cliffhanger

Sooooooo good!!!! Really enjoyed everything Cam and Ash. I cannot wait to see what happens now that Ash’s life is now public knowledge. Thanks Bo and Lorraine for bringing my attention to this one 💕

This was a really cute read. I found myself giggling out loud and blushing at how cute some moments were. The writing was excellent. The author did a fantastic job with the MC & I was able to feel like I knew them personally. It was easy to get lost in this world. My problem with the book is that there wasn’t really a plot line. This story was mostly the progression of a relationship. Which is fine but several times I found myself thinking, “when is something going to happen...?” When reading, it’s important for me to see diversity amongst the characters and in this book there was none like at all. Another issue, and this is probably a personal problem, but I don’t buy story’s where people meet and like two days later they’re head over heels. Some people do though. To each it’s own. I’m definitely coming back for the next book. The characters have grown on me and while I had some issues, the writing was really great.

Opposites Work

The premise here could have been totally messed up in the hands of another author but despite what seems to be a incongruous coupling, Arden Steele has given us two polarizing MCs, one of whom will steal your heart and want you to keep turning pages.

If it wasn't for how the author develops Cameron Stone I would have bailed out early because I really didn't like Asher Dare (on the cover) from the start, and it took quite a while for me to warm up to him. I am sure I am not alone in this observation. Cameron is just so steadfastly cool that he brings Asher along to reality, and a real personality, with each passing chapter.

I am not going to review the plot--it's a bit insane and sometimes convoluted, but it works in the end. And, the ending is a surprise--this is just the first book featuring this couple and when I catch my breath I'll grab the second one.

Love

A great story of love and trust.
Ash is a serial one nighter, until he meets Cameron.
Getting a ring side seat to Ash succumbing to Cameron charms was enduring.
Love the way the writing engaged me. This was a page turner. Hilarious.

Although I took until the before last chapter to realize there’s a second book
Biggest pros:
- The MCs don’t just seem like figments of the authors imagination it feels like she actually knows them which means they always react in a way that makes sense to them
In accordance with this: cars matched the character of the MCs :D nothing worse than an undeceived car or a car that doesn’t suit the MC for me to not find the character believable
- MCs communicate the hell out of things and I am a sucker for this! Every time something could have cause a romcom disaster they talked! 😍
- foundation of relationship not on sex
They may have a fated mate situation going on but they look into it, talk, communicate and create a foundation which makes you want these guys to have a functioning relationship

Those ingredients already made this great for me and there weren’t many negatives but I am a bit worried about book 2 :D
Also first book for me by this author…weird I had never heard of them :D

My expectations were too high!

I read this via Kindle Unlimited.
The synopsis actually does the book a disservice, it makes the novel seem to be a good read.
It's not.
Yet again the author relies heavily on cliché after cliché. Every negative trope of the gay community and lifestyle makes an appearance in this novel.
Both protagonists have appalling personalities.
One is dithering and appears to have been imported from an Edwardian novel. Though, throughout the story, he does everything that is against his personality.
The other "sleeps" with any guy, and doesn't care where or when.
After reading the prologue and chapter one, things go down hill very quickly. This is when I realized that, in my opinion, this ebook is aimed for the straight female community and not, as the review would have you believe, for the gay community.
This is saddening as I have purchased and own nearly every other Arden Steele's ebooks.
Reading through this story felt like someone running their nails down a chalkboard, absolutely painful.

One of the best books I read this year

Normally, I am not a big fan of the HFN thing, but I have to say that this author did a wonderful job with this story. The characters were credible, the side characters were not 2D, and the dialogue (my biggest obsession in romance) was excellent. I both laughed and cried, but there was a steadfastness between the MCs that is both believable and wonderful.

Pleasantly surprised

This is my first book by this author and i was really pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

Interesting cast of characters. I'd love to read Luke's story, Nico's, etc.

Cameron's family added nice humor and warmth. Downloaded the second book as soon as I finished this one.

So good!

God though I hate cliff hangers, especially with months before the next one is coming out. Mean, just so mean!!!

Love the story, love the characters but for the love of all that’s holy, get a better editor and/or proofreader. There are so many grammatical errors it’s distracting.

A brilliant start to a new series. This is my first read of Ardent Steele but definitely looking forward to book 2!
You can feel the intensity between the MC's, especially while in the getting to know each other stage.
As her is a great character. I love how he allows himself to want Cameron even though he's never gone that type of relationship before. He emits this self confident, arrogant attitude but its easy to see he's a softie and fragile on the inside.
Cameron is a great contradiction. He's this geeky shy boy a lot if the time but when needed, he's more than capable of standing up for those he cares about.
The secondary characters are amazing. Cameron's family, especially his mother are hilarious, offering light relief and some much needed support at times. Along with Nico, who's fierce but just protective of his best friend
Asher has Luke, his best friend, but that's about it. It's kind of lonely a lonely life for him, pre-Cameron.
I love the story line. Everything moves along at a nice pace, we're not kept too long in one depressing spot. The "extra curriculars" of Cameron and Asher are Hot! Especially when they move it up a gear.
What's with the sudden end though? Now desperate for the next book!
I'd highly recommend this book.

I loved everything about this book! It is well-written, entertaining and I could not put it down. The emotions I felt while reading Flirt had me laughing and crying all the way through it. Cameron and Asher come from completely different backgrounds but they feel an instant attraction when they meet. Asher is never with the same guy twice and Cameron does not have sex with a man until they have been seeing each other for thirty days. Being together makes it worth dealing with all of the obstacles in their way. Having a relationship is new to Asher and he also has to deal with someone from his past who is threatening to expose the horrors he dealt with as a teenager. Their friends and Cameron's family are there to help and support them and these characters add a lot of depth to this story. This book does end on a cliff hanger which I usually hate but it was so good that it didn't bother me that much and I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
I was given an ARC to review by the author.

Great opposites attract story.

Asher Dare is a very successful writer. He's also a man whore who is only into one night stands. Enter Cameron Stone. He's a very structured man and also a huge fan of Asher's work and the two have a encounter that turns Asher's world upside down.

What I enjoyed about this story is that their relationship flows very nicely. They don't hop right into bed with each other. There's an obvious attraction but they take their time getting to know one another and establishing their relationship. They have great chemistry that feels realistic.
