Great deal on an anthology by 21 authors!
Review for Taking Over by Brandy Ayers:
Wow! Without giving away spoilers, I wasn't sure what to expect of this story when I began reading - what seemed like just straight erotica at the beginning quickly turned into a great love story. I loved Damian - he knew what he wanted and he set out to get it in a unique and creative way! It's a short novella, but the story is put together well, with well-developed characters, lots of steam and some humor as well. Looking forward to reading more from this anthology.

This is an anthology collection containing at least 20 steamy, office-themed short stories. Below is a review of one of the books as an example of what you will find in this set.

>>> Reviewing “OFFICE HOURS” by Jewel Killian <<<
Isla Connor’s current task was to interview men who had perfect bodies, brains, personality, and something extra that made them “more” than everyone else. Because she could read body language and mannerisms so well, she was not overwhelmed with the charming moves the interviewees used to impress her -- using her first name, flattery, bending close to her to invoke intimacy, etc. She was looking for how well they could establish rapport with a stranger based on a random information scenario she gave them. The current applicant passed her exhaustive tests and she hired him just in time.

Suddenly Isla’s office door slammed against the wall as the CEO interested in buying her company came in shouting and threw a folded newspaper on her desk. The bidding for Prince Charming Inc., Isla’s male companion company, had started off strong. Then an anonymous bidder had offered 30% more than the top bid! Gabe Stevens, standing before her now, was an angry force to be reckoned with! So she told him to sit down, shut up and she would explain the article to him! Having been the Head of his HR department 6 years ago, Isla knew precisely how to effectively deal with Gabe Stevens. She had already taken care of the newspaper issue and her new hire would replace the host they had fired for his flagrant breaking of the rules. Gabe knew she hated him; now he needed to find a way to change her mind. He was going to make her a part of his life. He accepted the challenge he knew she would be! He wanted her to know the “real” him and how he felt about her. Now it was time to get down to business.

For Isla, selling this business had always been the goal. She wanted to set up a trust fund for her brother, Charlie, to pay for his lifetime care after the accident. She had always been an ugly duckling in school. She wouldn’t have made it through high school without him. He had always been her fierce protector growing up, a dependable and reliable part of her life. She needed to know now that he would always be cared for, which she would arrange with all the love in her heart. When the doctors had given up, Charlie had heard her talk to him and he came out of the coma, squeezed her hand and responded to what she had said! She would never give up on him.

I was very impressed with this book. Charlie is amazing in so many ways. Isla, for all her toughness, is a loving person inside and insistent on doing what is right. She is a very admirable character that gives the reader someone to cheer for. Gabe puts on a forceful front, but he is also a good person that dealt with his brokenness the wrong way. The story line will keep the reader’s attention to see if and how these two special people might perhaps overcome their bad start and find something in each other. There is much to overcome? Can it happen?

There are 20 more stories to enjoy! This is just one of them that warms the heart. Don’t miss out on reading every one of them!

I received two novelettes in this box set as ARC's, namely Miss Chief: Run the World Series 3 by Michelle Jo Quinn and The Perks of Higher Ed by ND Jones and my review will therefore only cover these two books. I had a little difficulty getting into The Perks of Higher Ed and found it confusing at first. However, as the story evolved things became clearer and it is in fact a most enjoyable story with a lot of depth. Dr Malcolm Styles is a man with a mission, namely to persuade the elusive Director Sky Ellis to go out on a date with him. Malcolm is a romantic at heart, whist Sky is a self-contained bundle of hurt and rejection. Using emoticons he worms his way into her heart and becomes the sounding board and support she never thought she would have.

Miss Chief opens with an unfortunate plane crash, where the man sitting next to Ingrid gives her assistance when they hit the ground. Perhaps it is the extremity of the situation they find themselves in but Ingrid and Henrik spend the night together. What Ingrid doesn't expect is to find that he has been appointed to replace her in her next big work project. Despite her anger and embarrassment, Ingrid has plans in place and as a result of this surprise situation, her plans take on a new urgency to propel them forwards. The interaction between Henrik and Ingrid is intense but when Henrik needs Ingrid, she has to decide whether her new-found fear of flying will prevent her from going to him.

I received a copy of these two novelettes as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I reviewed two of the books in this set and can't wait to read more.

Miss Chief by Quinn
“I am woman hear me roar!!”
An awesome short story about Ingrid and Henrik with some cameos from Talia and Theo as well.
Ingrid meets a gorgeous guy on a plane and after surviving a near-death experience they are left stranded for the night but once the hotel room door clothes sparks fly and so do their clothes. Waking up she sneaks out the room, happy to have had the experience but needing to get back to the real world.
On returning back to reality, Ingrid has been pushed aside at work after her boss passes over her dream project to a super talented award-winning architect.
Only when she meets the infamous man their small worlds collide when she realises it is him. The guy from the plane. The one she cannot stop thinking about.
Awesome story that had me laughing and sighing throughout plus it was hot and sexy to boot.

The Perks of a Higher Education by N.D. Jones

Loved this story!
It is so refreshing to read about Sky and Malcolm’s fall into love. Their conversations were stimulating as the hot sex scenes. I would love to read more about these two.

I read ARCs of these stories voluntarily for an honest review.

A very good collection of stories with the right amount of sweet, heat and eroticism.

The Perks of Higher Ed by N.D. Jones 5 Stars

There wasn't anything that I didn't like about this story. It was engaging and emotional. Dr. Malcolm Styles and Dr. Sky Ellis work at Eastern Bluebird College. When they meet at a faculty event the attraction is undeniable, however Sky is hesitant to act upon her interest. Malcolm however sets out to woo her with smooth irresistible charm. Though a shorter read, this book encompasses myriad expressions of love between various characters within the storyline. The evolution of Sky and Malcolm's romance was beautifully depicted.

Conflict of Interest by Eva Winters 4 Stars

From the first pages of this story, the tone is set drama, and more drama. The characters in this book have issues. There are twists and turns that make a compelling read.

Definitely looking forward to reading the other stories.

A Review of The Scarlet Letter of the Law by Lexi Green

*****post to Seduction In A Suit*****
Scarlet and Tony - 5 Stars

I have to say, this storyline was not exactly what I was expecting, but I LOVED the way it played out. What Scarlet went through when she was much younger is something that happens much too often and the fact that she stood up and fought back was amazing. The chemistry between her and Tony was outstanding and I thoroughly enjoyed the way the author was able to portray them. Definitely worth the time and cost to read.

Persistence Pays Off

This is a review for The Perks of Higher Education from the Seduction in a Suit Anthology:

This is a great romance with engaging characters. Sky Ellis resists her attraction to fellow co-worker Malcolm Styles (you’ll have to read the story to find out why^^), but Malcolm is sweet and persistent in his pursuit of her. I enjoyed reading about his efforts to persuade the reluctant Sky and the way they came together. It was just so sweet and romantic throughout.

I was given a free copy of this story by the author. This is my honest, voluntary review.

So far I have managed to read the contribution of ND Jones The Perks of Higher Education which is a fun Teacher/Teacher romance. I am certainly looking forward to the rest of the series. This collection should serve nicely to fill in those days I am waiting for next books in a series or for a change of pace.

Conflict of interest, Eva Winters. This book was surprisingly good. I was caught off guard by the intense storyline. I got confused until the end when I find out who Olivia really worked for and the relationship she had with Alexander. This book is definitely a must read! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

Office Hours by Jewel Killian: This short story was fantastic. It had depth and strong backstories for the characters that made the way they related to each other completely rooted in the real world. The supporting cast each had a strong presence as well. It's a quick read but so wonderful. It invoked emotion at every turn and was a complete story. I just loved it!

Ain't Karma a bitch?

"Conflict of Interest" by Eva Winters, is a steam filled novella that packs a mean punch. Daddy dearest won't know what hit him when baby girl shows him how well she learned how to play his game.

I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of Office Hours. I very much enjoyed Gabe and Isla's story. Six years is a long time Gabe! I am guessing Isla was worth the wait. I enjoyed finding out the truth, you will too. Grab this book and see if Gabe wins Isla's heart!

Conflict of Interest by Eva Winters
This is a fast, twisty little story about double-crosses, revenge, and justice. I don’t dare give away too many details or else I’ll ruin the best parts of the story. Needless to say, I enjoyed that so much I would have happily read several hundred more words about these characters.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this story.

Erotic Romance and more at their best!

I hadn't really started reading erotic romance til this past year, and that was more for inspiration and motivation for personal reasons. All of the stories, in the book, are 5 star, but my favorite of all of them, is Eva Winters' "Conflict of Interest," which is also the very first story in the book. It's
Eva's sensual style of writing, catches the reader's imagination and makes wanting the next one she writes. Her characters sizzle with every description, and keeps your interest from beginning to end. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I did, and please leave a review for the reader's as well as the authors themselves. It helps everyone. ☺

Sky works with Malcolm at the Eastern Bluebird College. After meeting at a faculty event and being put on the Diversity Progress Committee, the attraction between them is unavoidable. However much Sky might want to close off her heart to Malcolm, he works his way in to woo her. Even if she accepts a relationship, it will still take her a lot more for her to open up to him about her past. Malcolm is willing to wait though, and in the meantime, he will show Sky his own family.

I absolutely love N.D. Jones' romance novels. She always gives her characters proper backstories and allows them to grow, rather than just focusing on a shallow romance. This book was no different for me. I felt truly connected to both Malcolm and Sky. Sky struggled to open up to people, but Malcolm's open personality helped her to grow. Malcolm was truly a family man who enjoyed spending time with his siblings, which is sometimes hard to find in a romance novel.

The storyline moves quickly, but it was definitely deep. Sometimes in box sets, you skip books because you don't have the time. This one is definitely worth your while, so don't skip it!

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a complete romance novel with characters who grow throughout the book and who truly care for each other.

I received this book for free and this is my voluntary review.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of one of the stories in this anthology by Brandy Ayers.

TAKING OVER BY BRANDY AYERS

Brandy has fast become an automatic one-click author for me ever since I read “Only Us”. She is a very talented author with a creative imagination and damn can she write a sex scene ! Damian is a man who always gets what he wants and in this case he wants Lydia. This is a quick story that was very entertaining and I highly recommend it. I look forward to more juicy tales from Brandy in the future.
