Beautiful Shame #2

Randall & Hudson

Rate this book
Randall isn’t looking for love.

When someone likes being watched and wicked things turn them on, nice guys avoid them like the plague. Randall has learned his lesson. He looks too vanilla and sweet for people to accept that what he wants is…embarrassing and dirty.

Hudson isn’t looking for love.

He doesn’t have anything against it. He just doesn’t have time for it. Growing the family business and keeping everything under control is taking up more time than he’d ever anticipated. But sometimes, fate has other plans…like finding an innocent, submissive, naughty little thing and dropping him right in Hudson’s lap.

Hudson knows he and Randall are opposite sides of the same coin and would be perfect for each other. He just has to convince Randall that what he wants isn’t dirty or shameful, and that it’s okay to stand up for himself.

60k Words
Story Contains: M/m sexual content, spanking, exhibitionism, consensual humiliation play, and BDSM elements.

Authors Note: This is a sweeter version of humiliation play. It is completely consensual and both main characters are enthusiastic about their desires. The heat level is higher than some of my other books, but it is very much a romance at heart. Each book in the series will be a standalone story.

Humiliation and edging, wow. I feel similarly close to the edge of sanity as Randall. Hudson forbidding him his orgasms and constantly keeping him on the edge is insanely well written. Have rarely felt so affected.

“No playing with that sexy cock. No humping the bed, pretending that I’m taking that sexy ass. No teasing that little hole until you come.” 🥺

“My dirty angel made a mess of his pants.” 😳

“Do you want to clean up by yourself, or do you want your master to wash your sticky, wet cock?” 🤤

These two are made for each other. I love Hudson!!!

There was no censure in his eyes, and no judgment in his expression…he just watched me flirt and blush, his gaze getting hotter as the evening went on. 💜💜💜

“Just because you’re an exhibitionist, and probably into some humiliation play, doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you or that someone won’t want to date you. I can feel you up in the bar at work while everyone watches, and then go to dinner with you after. It’s just different parts of the same relationship; neither one is bad or dirty.” 😍😍😍

For the rest, well the plot is rather thin and predictable. I only read it for the smut, I think.
And then when the plot takes over the smut, unfortunately it became boring, it was so utterly predictable ... sometimes it's probably not so good to mix too much plot under the smut 😉

This one was pretty ordinary- Hudson became Randall’s Dom / Master way to suddenly and his constant “Who owns you, Who’s your Master” became repetitive and annoying. This was a soft take on humiliation... not really one that grabbed me

DNF at 60%. Doesn't have the charm of the first book. Way too many conversations and family content.

3.5 stars This was sweet and a lil sexy but overall just nice. There was nothing exciting or special about this. After reading most of the books released by this author and by her other pen nane Shaw Montgomery, I've come to realise that all of her characters are basically the same. There is always the shy sub who has no confidence and usually no family or a horrible family, and then there's the dom who's looking to settle down and find the one. Most of them are also Insta love or lust. They are always written well and I do like them, I just think I need my doms to be more dominant and kinky and less sickly sweet.

An absolutely scorching humiliation kink romance...that really didn't need to try to have an actual plot.

Holy shit this was hot. If public humiliation is your thing, you should read this immediately. Hell, even if it isn't, just give it a try, ok?

This was a solid 5 star porn read up until the author unfortunately decided that an actual plot was required. It wasn't.

Randall (Rand/Randy depending on vibes) works a few nights per month in a local gay bar, not-so-secretly getting off on the catcalling and lewd comments made by the customers, and the whole ooops-I-dropped-my-napkin-will-you-bend-down-and-get-that-for-me spiel. Everyone knows he's into it, and everyone wants a piece, but Rand isn't interested in any of them and they respect his boundaries. Nice!

One night, Hudson comes in and he's the best thing Rand has ever seen. Luckily for him, Hudson feels the same way and they quickly embark on a delicious journey of humiliation, denial and gratification, where Hudson also manages to convince Rand that his desires are not shameful and that he's absolutely worthy of love. Fabulous!

I'll probably re-read this...for reasons...and just skip the plot parts. Rand is TSTL (what kind of fool manages to ), and it's so wildly convenient that it was pretty unbearable. Also, I work in manufacturing/logistics and the whole hiring a 17-yr old warehouse manager plotline annoyed the hell out of me.

On to the next one!

Sexual content: Explicit! So hot.

Whew, this even got me blushing!

I don’t read a lot of MM but this book came highly recommended from a friend and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! I loved the humiliation scenes and the way the strong bond developed between the characters. Hudson’s final surprise for his dirty angel was absolutely perfect.

Holy smokes, this book will have your heart racing. Before we get started, you all have to promise not to tell my mom I read this. She's wonderful, but I think she'd have a heart attack if she knew I read 'grown up' books. If you had any doubt from the super sexy cover or description, this is a grown up book.

Okay, on to the good stuff. This book is incredible. I giggled, I blushed and I couldn't get the goofy grin off my face. I blushed even more when my husband asked what I was reading. This is not a book I would read on a plane, or anywhere public for that matter. It's more of a bath time with the door locked and the lights dimmed sort of book.

At its crux, this is a story about Randall's journey to accept his sexual desires. Before meeting Hudson he felt his desires made him naughty, dirty and a slut in all the worst ways. Then Hudson comes along; he somehow understands what Randall wants. For the first time in his life, Randall learns how liberating it is to be naughty, dirty and slutty with the right person.

I'll be honest here, this book wasn't even on my radar. It's a little on the wild side, even for me. But, I'm also curious to a fault and I had to know what Randall wanted that was so taboo, wicked and embarrassing he has to hide them. I'll also admit that I'm glad I read this book.

The characters were well developed for such a short book. I fell in love with Hudson's calm acceptance and Randalls inexperience and insecurity. The chemistry between them was undeniable and a real treat to read. The book was well written and engaging. Once I started reading I finished it in just a few hours.

With that said, there were parts that made me uncomfortable. There was nothing wrong with the writing or even what was happening, it just wasn't my cup of tea. But one thing I appreciated was the mutual respect and trust between Hudson and Randall. The author handled the subject well. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to take something taboo and turn it into something so sweet.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone (except my mother) who enjoys reading a sweet book with awesome steamy scenes.

My biggest issue with this one was that I just didn't connect with these characters. There was something about Rand that just didn't work for me. Maybe it was this mid 20 year old who didn't have a clue about anything. It was so apparent what his mom was doing, but he has no idea. He's supposed to be so educated but doesn't have any clue what his mom is having him sign every year. Yeah, I'm not buying it. Hudson, I liked, but not enough to make me really like the book.

Love love love it!!!

I love this author. Not only are the stories great but the way the author respectfully portrays the characters and their desires is beautiful. With just the right of passion, love, and personal growth. I really enjoyed the teaser at the end for The Accidental Master. I can't wait to read it.

I know there are probably folks out there that are into Randall's kink, but I have to admit that its appeal goes completely over my head. Most people go out of their way to avoid humiliation...but evidently not Randall. He thrives on being watched and what would be considered by most as horrible "other things"... really turns him on. As you can imagine the "nice" guys always avoid him.... but he says he isn't looking for love. To look at him he appears to be "vanilla" but what he wants is so entirely... something else. Hudson is "eyes straight ahead on the road" focused on his family's business and keeping everything, including himself...under control. Oh my... then he meets that thing called "Fickle Fate" which has an entirely different plan for him, and he soon finds that he is an innocent submissive... and, an oh s-o-o-o naughty, little thing. Randall and Hudson are so far at opposite ends of the same coin that it's amazing that they somehow proved to be perfect for each other...now he just needs to convince Randall that what he wants isn't dirty or shameful. I wondered "how are you going to possibly do that? Good luck guy! You're going to need it" Should have known that I would be wrong. Turns out that these two, who were both strong in their own way, do actually figured a way to the make a strong...if still unusual, relationship... actually work.... very well. I think the thing that helped the most was that they always had clear communication and a total complete emphasis on absolute consent. It's an easy read but I still don't completely understand it.... but it was...interesting. The 3 stars is not in any way, a reflection on the story or the author, (I love M.A. Innes), but my lack of connection to the subject of the story.

For a book that talks a lot about being kinky and stuff it was actually pretty bland and boring. It was almost like a m/f historical romance where both (rich) MCs had been in eachothers reach for years but didn't know it.

The story was a bit unbelievable and that epilogue just made me cringe. Not the worst I've read but probably the most boring. Writing style was nice and fluid though. But I don't think I'll be reading more from this series or author.

3.5 Stars. This was a sweet yet fairly hot book with nice characters and although I'm not sure I'll remember it that much I did enjoy it. We have the sweet, innocent sub with a terrible family and the sweet dominant who wants to take care of him and convince him that nothing he wants is wrong. Overall just very sweet with a bit of spice (but honestly not a ton). Sometimes I'm just in the mood for sweet and this book hit the spot.

It's a bit annoying that Goodreads doesn't allow readers to rate exactly 2.5 stars, because that's exactly the rating I would give this book.

This is a story about Randall, a boy who thinks less of himself for being "too kinky" and not exactly what certain people would expect someone like him to be, and Hudson, the man that is willing to show him that there's nothing wrong with being exactly the way he is. Sometimes being patient, while waiting for him to figure some things out by himself, and sometimes giving him a good push in the right direction.
But no matter how long we lasted or what happened, I was going to do my best to show him that words like naughty and wicked and dirty and even slut didn't have to mean negative things. I wanted to show him that knowing what he wanted and what he needed out of a relationship didn't make him a terrible person. I also wanted to show him that he could take control of his sexuality and his desires by giving that control to someone else.
My boy was made to submit, and I was going to show him how.

Some things did bothered me throughout the book, such as: How rushed everything was in the first few chapters. On chapter 2, they were already acting as if they have been deeply invested in a BDSM relationship for quite a while. I know "slow burn" can be annoying sometimes (mostly in those cases where everything only starts to happen in the second half of the book), but that doesn't mean things have to happen so damn fast like this! The author could have waited just a bit longer in this case. Also, the excessive use of the world "angel". I mean... is it really necessary to put it twice on every page?

Other than that, it was a good read. Not quite as good was the first installment of the series, but not bad either. The sex is hot, with plenty of 'dirty talk' and well-written as expected, and it was interesting to see Randall figuring out that he doesn't have to hide or repress who he truly is just for the benefit of pleasing others. Or as Hudson would say:
He was so sweet and innocent-looking, I could understand how someone would be surprised. But the inside of the package didn't have to match the outside. We learned that as kids. Some adults just
seemed to have forgotten that lesson.

2.5 solid stars. Well... I guess not so solid since I have to go with 3 stars instead!

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

Okay so this book started out great right off the bat. Just like Hudson, I too was wondering who the little hottie was working at the bar and what was his deal. Then they hit it off and start talking and *more* and I thought we were in for a sexy ride.

Instead we were in for a sweet ride. And that's not a bad thing! But considering Hudson had Randall naked in his lap like two hours after meeting him ... well, things slowed down considerably. There was sooo much talking, especially about a punishment Randall had earned. But when the actual punishment took place, at the bar where Randall works, it didn't seem much different from what we'd already witnessed happen at that bar. Like, at all.

And maybe I'm misunderstanding, but this book says on the cover something like "a humiliation play romance." I just didn't get the humiliation? Was it supposed to be that Randall gets turned on at work from the attention he gets, and everyone knows it? Because Randall did not seem humiliated by that to me. Turned on, sure, but not even in a humiliation way. Just in an "I like attention and maybe am an exhibitionist" way. I don't know, I guess I just had a different expectation of "humiliation play," maybe something closer to the first book in this series.

All that aside, what really killed me was the society-barbecue-party. I mean come on. These two men had had sex, had done the whole "your mine" claiming from DAY ONE, had internal thoughts about falling in love ... BUT DIDN'T KNOW EACH OTHER'S LAST NAMES.

Really? REALLY. Randall knew where the hidden guest bathroom was in Hudson's parents' house!! But didn't know who Hudson was?! I just could NOT with that plot point, and seriously considered DNF right then. I only kept going because it was so close to the end.

This book gets three stars from me because Randall and Hudson were sweet. But overall this did not live up to what it could have been, and what it was billed as, and had that super sketchy plot point that nearly ruined the whole thing for me.

It started out pretty hot and stayed that way until around the halfway mark or so. Then it got super repetitive. There's a lot of teasing and orgasm denial. No big deal. I'd actually be disappointed if I didn't see that in a BDSM book. But come on!  A couple of the sex scenes were hot but I felt like I was basically reading the same thing over and over. The bar scenes were unrealistic, and I had a hard time reconciling the exhibitionist Randall at the bar with the scared rabbit (best way to describe him) professional college student away from there.

Now we get to my biggest issue with the book - Randall's mother and his lack of backbone. Good Lord, how in the hell can somebody make it to their mid-twenties and never once question anything? Who just blindly follows every single order or demand without at least asking why or throwing out an opinion? He had no car, no bank account he could access, no anything other than what his mother gave him access to. He couldn't even speak up about what he wanted to study in college.

The epilogue made me cringe and (in my opinion) did nothing for the story as a whole.

This would actually be 2.5 stars but with Goodreads rating system, I'm having to give it two.

I'm really glad I started this series out of order (something I never do) by reading Christopher & Ethan first. Had I not, I would've stopped after Randall & Hudson and ended up missing out on a really good story.

Randall works part time at a bar. It's here he meets Hudson. Randall is sweetly shy & has desires he thinks no one will understand. Hudson picks up on these desires straight away & decides to go for it.

Randall's kinky innocence, sweetness & vulnerability was endearing. He worries that Hudson will leave him when he learns the truth about said kinkiness. I loved how Hudson made him crazy with want & need. They were super hot & sexy together & Hudson seemed to know exactly what Randall craves.

I loved the development of these characters. I got a great feel for Randall, I believed in his desires, they felt real & genuine. I loved the was Hudson called him Angel. It was great watching Randall learn to stand up for himself in relation to his mother, embracing the life he wants rather than the life his mother wants for him.

A great story of love, growth, acceptance and friendship I would happily recommend.

*I received an ARC from the author for an honest, unbiased review.

Randall and Hudson

Wow... lol... this was quite the kink fest. I don't know why, but I do love reading and learning about things I would have never known if not for all of the authors who write these stories. Randall was adorable. Hudson was 🔥. There were a few humorous moments that had me laughing out loud. This series so far has been very entertaining.

I wasn’t planning on reading more in this series (it’s perfectly fine erotica but idk if it’s for me) but this one promised a softer version of degradation and it totally achieved that.

Randall gets off on being embarrassed and Hudson treats him like the “dirty angel” he is. It was maybe too long for what it was but definitely sweet, super spicy (with nice variety), and a teeny touch of plot. A solid 3.5⭐️ rounded up.

M.A. Innes is a master author of taboo, bdsm, humiliation and age play. Her books never disappoint and this one is one of her best

What do you do when you get turned on by being watched by stranger. When they make you bend over and they ogle your butt. Randall is that boy, He enjoys being watched and put into humiliating situations. Part of the reason is to escape from conforming to what the world expects him to be.

Randall does have some hang ups, with his behaviour, he things its bad and dirty, instead of hot and fun. That is until…

Hudson comes along and sweeps Randall off his feet. Hudson is just the Dom to give Randall everything he needs. Hudson likes to push Randall’s barriers and enjoys watching him squirm in humiliating situations, but he also is very protective of Randall and shows him that what they both enjoy is not bad or dirty but healthy fun and hot.

We watch how Randall flourishes under his Dom’s authority and becomes Hudson’s Dirty Angel.

M A Innes has really wrote a master piece with this book. The heat levels are high (Who does not like sweaty bodies lol). The humiliation is embarrassingly hot, but also respectful, there is no demeaning of Randall as a person. The Author has done an excellent balancing of humiliation and respect, not an easy task in such a novel.

So if you want a sweat n' dirty, naughty but good read, Randel and Hudson are your guys.

Don’t ask me why, but this book is all kinds of hot and sexy, and totally sweet while being extremely kinky. Innocent and shy and seriously dirty all rolled into one book.

Randall – oh boy is he innocent and sweet. But the virginal twink has a very unusual desire: He likes to be humiliated – to a certain degree. And in Hudson he has found the perfect man: dominating, yet caring, with a strong talent to make Randall crazy – in the sexiest of ways… These couldn’t be more different from one another, yet they fit: Hudson always knowing exactly what Randall needs…

And as always with this author, you have a manly man and a shy twink. That’s one of the only critiques I have: I’d wish their personalities would be a bit more similar – just once; because why does it always have to be the twink / shy man that submits?

It’s funny to thing a love story with a concept like this one can be found sexy or even romantic. But somehow, it works. It’s much more about desire and needs and love as it is about the actual fact of being humiliated, it just isn’t that prevalent albeit being an integral part of the story. It’s really well done.

I love this author's books!!!!💖

I am not kidding, LOVE these books! I have read everything I can get my hands on by this author. I literally counted the days until this book came out and I already can't wait till the next one! This author has the perfect combination of rough and tender, sweet and saucy! Almost like goldilocks, a lot of books I tried were to focused on the rough dominant aspect (some times that's a good thing) and a lot were to sweet and mooshy (rarely in the mood for those but sometimes they are good) but this author is juuuust right! The sexy, naughty, kinky; the sweet and lovable it all mixes perfectly in these books. I just can't say enough to compliment this author. There are no typos (THANK YOU) the characters are likable, the smexy times are hawt, the everything is great! I do wish all of this author's books were longer but I'm greedy and realize even author's probably need to eat and sleep etc. so I guess ill make due 😉

I’m not sure what it was about this book, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first. Hudson was super sweet and Randall was adorably awkward and skittish so I did enjoy their characters for the most part.

I did like their relationship overall, but I’m not really into the whole calling the Dom “Master” or responding with “Sir,” so that could be why I didn’t connect much with this. I prefer Daddy. 😈 And while Hudson didn’t treat Randall terrible at all and he did call him sweet boy, he kinda used the nickname “Angel” way too much.

It was also made to seem like Randall liked to be humiliated but it felt like he was more of just an exhibitionist. He liked people looking at him and felt kinda shameful for that, but it was nowhere near the humiliation that book 1 included.

I dunno.. this book could’ve been a bit shorter. I did get bored at times. I’m still glad I read it but it wasn’t as stand-out as I would’ve wanted it to be.

2.5⭐️

Randall & Hudson by M.A. Innes is book 2 of the Beautiful Shame series. This is not a new to me author. I've read books written by her before and this book is as amazing as her others.

Randall is a submissive that works a couple shifts a month in a biker bar. He seems to be an atypical waiter for working there. Hudson is a Dom who is friends with the owners of the bar. He comes in one night after not visiting for an extended time. Sparks fly between Randall and Hudson.

This is a hot, sensual, and sweet story that I will definitely be reading again. Thank you M.A. for another amazing story of sweetness, humiliation, age gap and love.

Humiliation kink

I remembered reading this a while back and had to search to find it again. Then once I started I couldn't stop and had to re-read it all over again. This is one of my favorite authors and there isn't anything that they've written that I haven't loved. I really enjoyed this series of books which looks at humiliation kink. It's not a kink that's written about all that much and I love how the author takes their time to explore all the different variations and in such a positive light. Randall and Hudson are the perfect couple. I liked how Hudson took his time in helping Randall explore his desires and how supportive and patient he was. Randall is adorably sweet and inexperienced and he flourishes under Hudson's attention. I might have to go back and re-read the rest of the books now! Definitely recommend - 5/5*

Randall likes being watched and traditionally wicked things turn him on and so nice guys are always going to avoid him. He might look vanilla but what he wants is embarrassing and dirty. Hudson is just focused on growing his family business and keeping everything under control. Fate has a different plan and finds him an innocent, submissive and naughty little thing. Randall and Hudson are opposite ends of the same coin and perfect for each other he just needs to convince Randall that what he wants isn't dirty or shameful.

I enjoyed this story with the two men who were both strong in their own ways and had the making of a strong and unusual relationship. I enjoyed their clear communication and their emphasis on consent. Easy to read and understand. This MM story contains mature content which includes spanking, exhibitionism, consensual humiliation and BDSM-like D/s behaviours.
