Author Cynthia Harriman provides information to help families get hooked on seeing the world. From details on planning vacations that will make both parents and kids happy to information on traveling economically, eating at restaurants, and communicating with locals, this guide makes it possible to take the kids to Europe safely and, perhaps more importantly, sanely.
I liked everything about this book except the title. Really, who would take a trip to Europe with children if they thought it wasn't safe and sane? There is so much information about all kinds of travel styles and methods. Harriman suggests taking longer and less expensive trips and explains how to do this in great detail. I've been reading a lot of travel books lately and this is one of the best.
It's a good place to start - giving you things to consider as you start planning your trip. The only real quibble I have with this book is the author focuses mostly on long-term trips of multiple weeks/months, which, in my opinion, is just not feasible for most people today.
