Bad Reputation

Andrew Butler lives his life a certain way. He’s the personal assistant to Nik Hadden, the leader of the Hadden Coven and owner of the Imperial Club, and he manages elite parties at the Club. He’s supremely organized and keeps the Coven and the Club running like a well-oiled engine. He doesn’t expect to find his beloved on the main floor of the Imperial Club. He doesn’t expect his beloved to be a big bad wolf, with a bad reputation. His life has always been a certain way, and now Andrew is acting in ways that he cannot believe. He feels out of control. As Andrew and his wolf Kristof Lakatos form their bond and get to know one another, trouble is looming on the horizon. An old enemy from Kristof’s past is beating at the gates and threatening the future Kristof and Andrew want to build for themselves. Will they be able to defeat the darkness that’s surrounding them and build their better tomorrow, or will the past swallow them?

Kristof has built a reputation for himself to keep people back, keep everyone from asking too many questions. He’s a bodyguard and mercenary for hire. Kristof has a painful and checkered past that he would rather keep buried for the rest of time. That becomes more difficult when he sees a beautiful, blond-haired vampire on the main floor of the Imperial Club in Pittsburgh. Now his bad reputation is a hindrance to the love and future he can now see for himself. Can he convince the Hadden Coven that he is not everything they have heard? Can he keep his past from harming his newly found mate?

Kristof Lakatos has a bad reputation and some big enemies. He has to prove that love really does conquer all.

This was book 2 in the "Pittsburgh Vampires" series. This was a short quick read that I have 4 stars I rounded up because I did feel that this book was rushed. Andrew Butler is Nik's personal assistant he lives his life a certain way with order everything runs like it should. He was abandoned as a kid so he grew up with Nik and his second being his guardians. When a wolf shifter who is a bodyguard for a guess at the club shows up he can't take his eyes off him. Kristof Lakatos is a lone alpha wolf he is a bodyguard so when his client wants to go to the club he goes when he lays eyes on Andrew he can't believe he has a mate. When he gets into with Josef the second in command in the coven Andrew jumps in to protect his mate. I liked that Nik was protective of Andrew and he went to Kristof before he allowed him near Andrew Kristof has a bad reputation and when Nik calls his old pack who is lead by his brother. Turns out Kristof left his birth pack because he didn't want to kill his brother his father wanted them to fight for the right to lead. When he threatens his mate Kristof will do anything to protect Andrew. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling in it but it was rushed. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Still not sure why I’m devouring these books... it’s like my mind is on a mission to get through all the books by this author, which makes my bank account sweat a little....

Short, editing errors and no character development. Same as the first in the series: from not knowing each other to eternal love in a second flat. I understand the concept of predestined mates but this one was too much.

3.5 Stars - This is a cute story about a lone alpha werewolf and a young vampire who end up being fates mates. Fated mates are somewhat rare in vampires, so when Andrew comes into contact with Kristoff, things get a little out of control.

Andrew is the personal assistant to the, Nik, Master Vampire, coven leader and owner of the Imperial club. He is a sweet guy who was taken in by Nik and his second, Josef, after being orphaned at an early age. They are quite protective of him, so when the alpha wolf shifts in public in the club, and Andrew jumps to his side, both of them claiming to be mates, Nik and Josef are a bit concerned. This concern is further exacerbated by the info they uncover about Kristoff’s past.

Kristoff is a lone alpha. There are issues with his previous pack, the hierarchy and his brother who is the current alpha. When that past comes back to haunt him and potentially harm his new mate, Kristoff decides to end things once and for all.

I enjoyed the mix of wolf and vampire in this story. This started out with a potentially gritty feel which I was really looking forward to. However, once the mates were discovered, it got sugary sweet pretty quickly. This can probably be read as a stand alone, but you’ll most definitely want to go back and read about Nik and his mate in the previous book. I know I did and will definitely be looking for more out of this series.

This was basically a scintillating little story. First of all, I like it so much better when one of the mates in the romance is not human, which requires a lot of secrets and explaining by the paranormal, which to me, slows down the pace of the story. Not in this book, however, Kristof is the lone wolf, and Andrew is the vampire (half). They recognized each other as mates right from the beginning (I love that). In fact, my favorite scene in the story is when Andrew walks away, and Kristof howls through the club. I won't say more, but I was delighted in the way that that played out in my head. The gallantry of it all was so enchanting. I like how Nik treats his coven like family and welcomes others. The plot was well done for being a shorter story, and Kristof was awesome and did what he needed to do to protect Andrew. I hope Jack and Benny get a book also. =) Awesome.

Nicely done on book two

Awesome book two. Andrew and Kristof are an unusual pair in that one is small in stature and one is larger than life, wolf and vampire. Yet they make it work. It's always
hard to remember when your in new love that neither vamp or wolf are easily hurt except by each other. These two are learning this the hard way. Three wolf's now in the coven may cause an up roar from within for the Master yet three wolves are one heck of a force to be reckoned with (hope to see more of them). Great read and worth the money spent to be in with the Pittsburgh vampires again. Looking forward to more.

Gute drei Sterne.

Loved the characters

I love B.A. Stretke's imagination and the wonderful characters that fill his books. Like most of his books, the storyline was engaging. I would love to rate the book higher. However, the story felt rushed in several places and I noticed editing errors, mostly near the end of the book. Overall, I am glad I read the book and can't wait to find out what happens next.

⭐⭐⭐✨

Loved it

I thoroughly enjoyed Andrew and Kristof's story. I liked how fiercely Andrew defended Kristof, from the beginning. I also loved how Kristof dealt with Sergei efficiently and with all of the skill that he had acquired and honed since leaving the pack.

1.5 stars Editing errors and no character development. Infinitesimaly better than the first in the series: from not knowing each other to eternal love in a second flat. In this case, at least there's half a page of background for the pair.

The wolf is pure sexy

The wolf in this story is just sex on a stick. The bonding between the wolf and the vampire is a good read. You’ll enjoy this story and it’s nice how the characters are interwoven from the previous book.

I absolutely despise Nik Hadden. Have I written this as a review before? Well I’m writing it again. His attitude and high-handed-ness is an automatic mood killer and I just wanna throw hands. Ruined the entire book

The wolf and the vampire

Kristof is a bodyguard on duty for a customer visiting the Imperial night club when he spots Andrew and recognizes him as his mate. Kristof is a strong alpha wolf but can't control himself when Andrew leaves the room. A big incident is quickly put down by security guards with Andrew, a very slight young vampire joining in trying to help the wolf. The lovers are reunited and bond. However, during a background check on our wolf brings great danger from Kristof's past. We finally get our HEA along with two extra young mistreated wolves added to the coven. An enjoyable read.
