I'm sure I've said everything below at least once over the course of this series. Well, it's a long manga series, and nothing has changed substantially since the first volume, so what else can I do but repeat myself, too? :D
- Both art and story are pleasant enough, but nothing special.
- A little bit of "too many characters" going on. It does a decent job reminding the reader who's who in episodes where they show up, and most of them are visually distinctive enough that I don't get them mixed up.
- Unfortunately, although high jumping is the basis of the series, neither it, nor the Sano family situations revolving around it, are particularly interesting to me.
- Individual scenes are cozy and nicely done, and as a whole it has a pretty good vibe to it. A similar series that (imo) does a better job with a low-key, cozy story is Banri Hidaka's V.B. Rose (unfortunately not "officially" completed in English, and no longer in print).
- I'm glad we're beyond the point of damseling Mizuki, or her secret being under threat of exposure, every couple of episodes. The whole setup is pretty flimsy, silly and unbelievable, and being reminded of it constantly wasn't doing Hana-Kimi any favors.
