****Standalone Novel**** A' Leah Brent has been so heartbroken that nothing can comfort her aching soul. She has been abused by love so much so that she wasn't sure if love was meant for her anymore. Love just didn't seem to love her…that was until she ran into Parish Martin. Parish Martin seems like he could be A' Leah final destination turning her loveless world around but nothing could've prepared her for the brutal truth that laid behind the wolf in sheep clothing. When love hurts, you just have to find your way back to that unbroken place. Sometimes it comes tomorrow, other times it takes more time. Whatever that time is, it's worth the fight to get the authentic love.
As always, Chelley didn't disappoint. The saying hurt people, hurt people definitely proved to be true throughout this read. Nia was going above and beyond to make peoples lives miserable because she was looking for validation in all the wrong places. Some of the things she did was crazy and I was waiting patiently for karma to be served. Now Parish had some nerve! Things between him and A'Leah were rocky but he stooped to an all new low. Although Parish was in the wrong, placing the blame did no good. I loved how Nolan didn't hesitate to let Parish know how dumb his mistakes were and still being there for Leah. Nolan and Brooke's situation almost got setback because of more lies but through it all they seemed to grow stronger. Norman left me saying wow and wtf! He got his revenge on his wife in a much different way than I was prepared for. Carlotta was all types of stupid! They should've allowed her to suffer the same fate as the worthless bitch she so desperately wanted. Karma came around full circle and it played no games while doing so. Nia learned a little too late how her choices effected those around her. She was so busy using the hurt she already harbored that it caused her to do the same to others. There were a whirlwind of ups and downs but eventually things began to get better.
Look it is nothing worse than a woman constantly going after someone who doesn't want her. Now granted, a married man gambles the moment he decides to step out on his wife, so he has to be willing to suffer the consequences it brings. Also when a woman decides to lay with a married man and he tells you upfront he will never leave his wife, or it will never be more than sex, 10 times out 10, that is exactly what he means. Soooooooo if she decides to let her feelings get involved, ummmm that's a personal problem and not his. His only problem will be his wife, point, blank! The poor choices of the man is irrelevant. True enough, hurt people, hurt people but Geesh! Nia was naive to a fault! Her mother was selfish and pitiful! Her father, a demon! Her stepfather, gullible and simple! Their petty revenge for each other really put innocent people in harm's way and caused major confusion in their lives. The lies and conniving plots were just shameful. Schemes that left many trying to heal. Just to think I thought this all started behind an unfaithful husband but it was wayyyyyy so much deeper than that. This book is surely a 5* read once the errors are fixed. 4*
This book was crazy busy. Nia was a the character whose love hurt everybody in the book. Her vengeful antics are recounted from the beginning as she begins the narrative then it continues from the perspectives of the other main characters. Multi-perspectives don’t always flow well in novels, but this technique drove the plot to a very interesting climax and eventually a great ending.
This novel starts out with Nia attempting to ruin her ex-boyfriend Parish’s relationship with his wife A’Leah. She continues a destructive rampage lying, cheating and even killing anyone between her and the happy ending she felt she deserved.
The cover depicts a woman drowning and I felt that. Nia was drowning in the rubble of her destructive decisions and was drowning in the convoluted plot.
The overall story was good, but the plot was congested with events and details that overwhelmed me as a reader. The typing and syntax were grossly abused throughout the entire novel. Curiosity called me from the edge of the cliff, but I almost leapt off of the page and out of the book.
This story took me through do many changes. Here, you have a young lady, No a, who think the world owes her everything she think she's entitled too. Hurting people you are suppose to love to get what you want always turn out bad. Now, Parish was a Principal who made lame decisions. I understand he was hurting as well as his wife Leah, but Lord how could he have been so stupid! Chelley, let me say this to you: Your style of writing puts me awe!! You know how to soothe the mind with gentle love stories and then you switch things up a bit with drama filled love stories. How do you do that? The twists and turns feels like a whirlwind. I love it though. Anyone who haven't read this novel yet, I urge you to read it. You won't believe the way it twists and then turns into the kind of life story we all want to live in.
Great job Author Chelley. I gave this book five stars because it is an excellent read. Ready for your next release!!
Well written page turner that will have u going through an emotional roller coaster ride. Chelly with each new book that you drop your writing skills evolve! This is my favorite one yet! I won’t spoil the story but I will say I am so happy that Leah got her happy ending because that woman went through hell and high water. I appreciated the fact that Nia got what she deserved with out having to die to do so she was one twisted confused hurt soul.... which is a combination that equals dangerous. but it’s not entirely her fault that she is the way she is... I don’t know if I hate her ways or pity her...either way she deserves what she got! As for me after reading this book I took out of it...be careful who you give your love to and be careful of who you hurt.. Get your copy and find out why Love can be a dangerous game to play... I promise u won’t be disappointed!
Omg..All these secrets that just keep coming out. Carlotta was crazy but I see why Nia acted like that. Trent deserved everything that happened to him. Poor Leah. Her parents and aunt was wrongfor that. Trish is something else but that's what Nia get. Karma always comes at the end. Carlotta was stupid, Norman was a good one. Dang they got her right after, but that's the price to pay. I'm glad Parish got his stuff together. Nia even did Nikita wrong smh. I love Brooke and Nolan relationship. Awwww his proposal was so sweet. I love how they worked through the rough patches and how he knew what he had and made sure she felt and knew as well. This is a must read.
… was my first read by this author. Even though the story was an excellent one, the errors took away from it. Nia was a very disturb young lady but when you learn the details of her upbringing and about her father and mother you see why. She did to family what most people wouldn't do to a stranger in the street. Norman was wrong on so many levels it was pathetic. A'Leah was holding on to secrets that on reality weren't even her truth. Her parents were just as jacked up as Nia's. Especially after letting her date Kendall.
So just reading this book had me hyped just. When i say this storyline will hit you in the heart it will. Everyone has been hurt sometimes in life and its how you bounce back but reading about Nia I'm glad I'm one that bounced back. I'm not going to tell about the story just know that this is a book you need to read. Everyone need to read this book. Great job Chelley.
What goes around comes around. Nia definitely deserved everything coming to her from all the havic she created. I couldn't stand her the way she treated Leah. Parish knows now to stay faithful to his wife. I'm so glad they were able to get ovwr that big obstacle. Norman and Carlotta was living foul and I'm happy he was able to move on with his life. Nolan was in the midst of it all but he still lived his sister and mom no matter what
Chelley has become a member of my go to author list. Her pen game gives you something to think about when we make choices and the consequences that may follow. This story plot taught me that hurt people can hurt people, but also that hurt people can heal if they choose to! Definitely worth reading!
This book was amazing. It was sad at some points and crazy at others I don't get how someone could do so much her to others not caring or thinking of the consequences. Now nia will be forever alone and not get to see her bundle of joy until he's older all because of her jealousy n selfishness.
The saying that hurt people hurt people and misery loves company was definitely true in this book. Nia did not care who she hurt and most of her actions were due to her father. I think that the only reason that she was sorry was because she got caught. She totally reigned havoc on everyone’s life.
This book was so amazingly that I read it in one sitting! I’ve actually met people who was raised like Nia. It’s crazy how parents influence their children even if it’s the wrong way. She single handedly fucked over everyone she met. Y’all should read this book if you’re reading my review. Chelley you did it again girl!!!!!
I really enjoyed this book. Nia was a hot mess. The things she did all because of so called was ridiculous. I'm happy A'leah was Able to forgive Parrish and move forward. Another great book.
This book was full of suspense. When thought you figured out the story line you were hit with twist and turns. Nia was a hot mess. I am glad everything eventually turned out great for Parish and A'leah.
