I have described in every chapter the construction, theory, opera tion and application of each apparatus, and have also inserted the necessary tables of dimensions and capacities. The first part of the book deals with the transportation of gases, the second with the transportation of liquids, the third with the transportation of solids. In the fourth part the appliances for atomizing liquids are described, while the fifth contains a discussion of jet condensers. The inti mate relation of the fourth and fifth parts will be readily under stood from the respective descriptions. The sixth part deals with the theory of the jet machines. Although the book is intended for the industrial engineer, it is of equal value as a text-book, since it gives also the fundamental principles, besides the latest experimental data and applications....
