Ryder has known ever since he first laid eyes on Lexi that she would be his, but she was coming out of a messy divorce and then he was involved in a case that could have put her and her daughter Katie in danger, so he held back and bided his time. Now, he's returned home to find her crying on her porch because her ex-husband has started to cause trouble and he is using their daughter to hurt her. Ryder steps in and decides it's time he claimed his woman. When danger heads their way, Ryder intends to meet it head-on, because someone wants Lexi, and they will do anything to get her.
M.J. Perry is a mother of two, and wife to her very own prince charming. Her favourite things include coffee, chocolate, pizza, and anything Disney. She's an avid reader of romance books and a sucker for a happy ending, which is the reason why she started writing her own stories.
M.J. Perry has penned another beautiful romance that rouses and stirs readers emotions with characters that are always easily loveable/relatable, sensual melt-your-heart love scenes and a storyline that is deeply moving, highly engaging and emotion charged.
Protecting his Love is a new favourite of mine. This is a definite must read.
Barely 3 start!!! I read the series for this book. I saw the blurb but decided to start with book one. I give this book 3 stars only for Ryder, a little for Katie, and Eric and Jen but none for Lexi. She took up for Julian way to much and Ryder should have told her to go be with Julian! I think Jen and Eric should get a book just like Caleb and Lea from book 2. If they get a book, I may read it but otherwise I think I’m done with this author.
Ryder has been in love with the single mother next door for a while. He was waiting on her to heal from her broken first marriage. But when he finds out she is in danger, he would move heaven and earth to save her and her daughter. The ex husband has gotten them into a very dangerous situation, and Ryder needs to protect them. Side characters have interesting story, and look forward to seeing if they get together.
This is an over 18 age reader book. There are typos, and book 2 was better than book 1 or 3 (imo) but was still a good book.
Protecting His Love, Book 3 of the His Love series, was about (no age given for him) Ryder Allen, a detective for his friend's security firm, and Lexi (no last name or job given for her), the mother of 5-year-old Katie.
This story was short and somewhat sweet. There was a touch of angst, a bit more drama, and a tad amount of spiciness. It was somewhat lackluster in its entirety because it just didn't have a smooth flowing storyline or plot.
The FMC had been divorced from her cheating ex for 2-3 years, had become quite rich upon the death of her grandmother (who stipulated that she would only inherit if she was no longer with her now ex-husband. She did NOT divorce him to inherit. She didn't learn about that stipulation until after her divorce was finalized, and her grandmother didn't die until a few months after that event. She didn't meet the MMC until after her separation.
As short as this book was, it didn't allow time for any growing that needed to be done, although the two main characters were pretty mature already. However, the FMC was given the characteristic of being a pushover to such an extent that she became a wuss with no backbone. The way the author made her so forgiving and soft where the ex was concerned was going too far to make her likable. The MMC was written to be this big, macho hero type, but he caved to the whims of the FMC at every turn, so that made him a bit of a wuss, too.
The story needed more chapters and a lot more grit. But what bothered me the most was how the author gave the cheating ex-husband too much involvement, too much leniency, and too big of a part in the book. It was almost as if she had wanted to write a second chance story that involved the ex and the FMC getting back together, but then changed her mind and gave the HEA to the FMC and the MMC instead. This just didn't sit well with me.
Sorry, Author, but I could only give this a two-star rating. I really didn't think the ex and his second wife should have had such a major part in this book.
