The story is pretty nice, and time travel works well with reverse-harem. I like the whole idea of real beauty and magical (artificially induced) beauty. But the atmosphere was too damn depressing. I could almost feel the pressure on my chest and the smell of decay. That makes Savino a good writer.
I wish the novel was longer because, excepting Tristan, the other guys seemed to be ignored. They didn't get much screen time. Maybe that's the downside of a reverse-harem novel with too many characters, and too little length.

Gotta love a Reverse Harem story that involves time travel, witches, 4 giant berserker men and plenty of hot sexy times. What I didn't expect was the sweet dialogue, emotional bonds and kick a$$ fight scenes. Lee Savino delivers another fantastic read.

I received an ARC of this book.

Yseult’s Mission

I have not read the previous read the previous books in this series. I saw that it was by Lee Savino and had to read it.
It’s a fast paced storyline about a beautiful witch sent back in time. She said to try and defeat the Corpse King and she meets four very handsome warriors. Tristan, Magnus, Ivar and Lars declare their themselves to serve and defend her.
I didn’t understand if the Corpse King is so powerful didn’t he hear everything and everyone? Also, I felt the storyline rushed and incomplete.
Anyway, Yseult and her four warriors defeat the king and she is back in time with them. The love scenes were 2 stars ⭐️ . I think this book ended with enough unresolved issues and questions for another book with them. Even if this is a standalone.

I'm really familiar with the series but as I started this book I was UBER confused for quite awhile. I was like huh...I dont get it then about the middle I was like ooooh ok I get it now! So, I wonder if it will confuse other readers too. I couldnt remember who Yseult was. I think the majority of the book I couldnt remember who she was but by the end I remembered. I was slightly disappointed by the love scene. There was 1 but at the end and it felt really rushed and wasnt very impressive. It was just done too fast and I understand they were on a time constraint but still it was a tad disappointing. I also wanted their story fleshed out a little more. I did like it though.

Circle of Time

3.5 stars - For this installment, Yseult goes back in time only to realize that the fable told for the past thousand years was only partially correct when it came to the binding of the Corpse King.

I liked the path that she took and the relationship that quickly formed with Tristan, Ivar, Magnus, and Lars. My only complaint is that we weren't shown more of that newly formed bond. I felt kind of... unfulfilled.

I was a woman, I was a goddess, and they worshipped me every way they knew how.
-- Yseult

I do look forward to the next one and hope there's a better epilogue once the series concludes.

I read the book and listened to this as part of The Berserker Brides Saga collection. While I wish there was a second narrator, Jasper Woodcock did a good job.

Story: 3.5 stars
Narration: 3.5 stars

I have read several books in this series, but I have to admit this one just left me confused. It took me a while to realize what was going on with the plot and honestly I wish the book had been a bit longer so that maybe more of the plot could have been flushed out. Sadly, this novella almost seemed more like an outline of plot ideas rather than a completed work. However, I have a feeling that some of my questions will be answered in future books. Or at least I hope so!

Exciting mission to Prevent the Corpse King from Gaining Power!!

Yseult, a powerful witch is sent back in time to work to prevent the Corpse King from gaining further power during an earlier time. When the travel strips her of her powers, she must face four warriors. One commander of the guard, two also members of the guard and one who has lost himself to his beast…..until Yseult

A true testimony of struggle and perseverance for Yseult as she no longer has her power and has no idea how to accomplish her goal. While some warriors are ready to punish her just for existing the four mentioned above work to protect her from the other guards and try to prepare her for dealing with the king.

Well written as you get into each character’s head and feel their struggle and the bonds that grow between these very special individuals. I always read the epilogue, but this one is a must-read!! I highly recommend this!!

I WAS YSEULT—WITCH—SPAEWIFE—WOMAN

The story is a stand-alone in the Reverse Harem series, but if you have followed Ms. Lee Savino’s Berserker series, you will understand more about the Corpse King, the Berserkers, and know that Yseult is a spaewife witch with great powers in her time.

“Spaewives, we call them. Women touched by the Goddess who possess natural—abilities.”

The sister witches have decided that one among them must go back in time to learn how they can destroy the Corpse King that is growing stronger. Yseult is chosen by the eldest Crone and sent back one thousand years, but when she arrives, she is powerless and must do everything on her own as a mere mortal maiden, but she will gain the help of four of the king's guard.

She will be tested by the use of a moonstone and deemed to have the gift of a Spaewife and deemed worthy of the King Mage. All the men, warriors, Berserkers present are sons of the King, their mothers all used and discarded, now lost souls. “He will not stop until he has enslaved all of us. That is why my people fear. That is why I must face him. I must, Tristan, it’s why I have come.”

“A queen. Worthy of a king. You will rule beside me, Yseult. And whole worlds will fall at our feet.”

Without her powers, will Yseult be able to hold off the Mage? Will she have aid within the ranks of the warriors and maybe even beyond the grave? The dream sharing between Yseult and the brothers all foresee danger. Will it mean the end of Tristan, Lars, Ivar, and Mangus—and even Yseult?

“We will fight to defeat him. No, you cannot stop us. We will be your champions.”

Yseult has always been on her own, while she is a powerful witch in her time, here one thousand years ahead of her time, she does not possess those powers, but she had gained the respect of many. What will come of her and these four Berserker warriors?

“We have one night, I have only one wish. Not a command.” “And they proceeded to make me writhe. I was a woman, I was a goddess, and they worshipped me every way they knew how.”

“The spell we set is done—the battle’s lost and one—with the rising of the sun.”
When she returns to her time, she is not alone. “I was not used to having protectors, but it seemed, now I did.”

“Strong enough to be our mate. Strong enough to love. If you are willing--we will not force this. We will let you think on it. We made our choice. We will wait for you to make yours.”

The story does not end on a cliffhanger, but this isn’t the end either. There are more Berserker stories to come and the battle to destroy the Corpse King is looming on the horizon. The Corpse King has been raising the dead, so they walked and served him with the worst of evil magic—necromancy. Stay tuned for more to come in the very near future, and read the Berserker series.

So, this is part of Night of the Reverse Harems group of books. It's also an additional story in Lee Savino's Berserker world. It ties into the last books and gives us a little more information. In this book, we get to see more of Yseult. We all know her as a powerful witch, but not much more than that.

All of Yseult's witchy sisters have gotten together to send her to find out about the spell that originally bound the Corpse King. The problem is that she ends up 1000 years in the past and without any of her witchy magic. All she has is her innate power.

Two Berserkers run across Yseult while she is waking up in a field. When they see her, they know her, even know they've never seen her before. But, they've been dreaming about her and she helps clear out some of the miasma that surrounds their king's castle. When she gets taken back, it turns out that she's just what the King would like.

Ivar, Tristan, Magnus, and Lars are determined to not let anything happen to her. They know her and they know they need her.

I loved the more intimate look into Yseult. I've always kind of liked her as a character, even when she seems kind of shady or sneaky. I mean, she's a witch, and that kind of just goes with the territory in this world. But, I've liked her and I liked learning more about her. I really like her guys. I can't wait to see how this all fits into the bigger Berserker series.

Berserkers, witches, magic, an evil mage rising, and time travel! What more could you ask for?

Time travel...is it really possible? Yseult's about to find out. A powerful witch engaged in the battle to defeat the Corpse King, she and her sister witches feel the Corpse King's power rising to unstoppable levels. History gives clues to how the Corpse King was bound, defeated, by a woman a thousand years ago. But the specifics of that knowledge have been lost to time. The witches have only one chance. Someone has to go back, find the secret behind the Corpse King's defeat. It's fallen to Yseult to undertake that journey. As her sister witches cast the spell to send her back in time, she has no clue what awaits her! She awakens in a meadow, disoriented and exhausted. But worse, her powers are gone. She has a single day in which to find the Corpse King's weakness. Is that even possible without her powers? To make matters worse, the Corpse King's Berserker guards find and take her prisoner. What's she to do? Imprisoned, powerless, how can she possibly find the information she needs? A single day, no powers, an impossible task. The Corpse King must be defeated. It happened before. She must make it happen again. Failure's not an option. But all isn't as it seems. There's discontent among the Corpse King's Berserkers. Tristan, commander of the Corpse King's forces, is uncommonly taken with Yseult, as are his fellow warriors Ivar and Lars. And while Yseult's lost her witch powers, she's still a spaewife. Unknowingly, she garners the support of yet another unlikely ally, Magnus. But the Corpse King wants to bed her, make her his wife. Doing so will destroy Yseult body and soul. What can she do? The Corpse King can destroy her with a flick of his fingers. Even with four Berserkers on her side, the Corpse King's power is absolute. The odds against them are incalculable. Can fate make a difference when magic can't? When Yseult and her Berserkers are thrust into battle against the Corpse King, will any of them survive? They're so outnumbered. There seems to be no hope. Are Yseult's powers truly lost? Is the answer right in front of her and her warriors? Or will it be lost forever in the mists of time, along with her beloved Berserkers and her own life?

There have been a series of reverse harem books recently published by a number of authors. I've read all of them. They're all excellent. But this book is uniquely Lee Savino. Tying this story to her Berserker world is a stroke of genius. Her creation of Yseult is breathtaking. While Yseult is obviously the focus of the story, a powerful witch thrust backward in time where her powers disappear and all hope of saving the future seems lost, Tristan, Ivar, Lars, and Magnus are absolutely magnificent. The qualities of the Berserkers from Yseult's own time are clearly evident in these four. While the Corpse King holds the ultimate power over all, including his Berserker warriors, Tristan, Ivar, Lars, and Magnus are far from puppets on a string. Neither are they token fantasy warriors inserted into the story for the sake of pure eroticism. Is the story hot? Absolutely! But Yseult's beauty, bravery, and very nature is inspirational. Her warriors would put their lives on the line to protect a woman they've known but a single day and may never see again. And these five characters form a bond that transcends space, distance, and even time. This story is absolutely enchanting and bewitching. Lee Savino has truly outdone herself with this book. I absolutely adored it! Congratulations, Ms. Savino! This book is inspired! It deserves nothing less than five stars!

One final note. Please be an informed reader and consumer! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the author! She works extremely hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to a book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the author an extreme disservice.

Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

A young woman sent on a mission – learn what is needed to destroy the Corpse King. Imbued with magic from her fellow witches she is sent to do her task. What she does not expect is the shift in time. Removed from her own time she is sent back to discover the truth about how one many years ago managed to bind the Corpse King. In a different time, a small group of men, half-brothers, each dream of the fair-haired maiden. They also dream of death. When Yseult arrives, they are each drawn to her in their own way. Her scent is alluring to them all, but only select ones wish to protect her from the evil that lords over their lands.
Night of the Berserkers by Lee Savino is a standalone reverse harem novel. This story alternates in chapters between Yseult and her four men. The story follows Yseult as she finds herself in a different time and learns the truth of her situation. The story moves at a good pace and the author does a fantastic job of keeping things together. There aren’t any gaps in the storyline and it flows smoothly. I like how the author has Yseult be such a unique character. She thinks less of herself because of her lack of magic in this new time, but she is more than she thinks. I like how from the first time that they meet her that these select men (minus one) are quick to want to protect her. I appreciate the dynamics that the author sets up with these characters and how they all come together.
This is an engaging story, but it’s not without its flaws. While the storyline flows well, there are some editorial issues here and there in the storyline. They do not detract from the storyline, but they do catch the eye as you read. An example of one such error: “And then I saw them, lying in wait in the shadows beyond the throne. Woman.” The author is indicating the former wives of the Corpse King but uses the wrong term for how many there are. Since there are “hordes” of these wives, it should say “Women.”
Other than a couple minor editorial issues, this book is well done and well thought out. The author even gives the reader an epilogue, while it doesn’t round out the story completely, it gives the reader a good closing point for Yseult and her men for the time being. I am honestly looking forward to the next book that follows this storyline.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. The story is well written, engaging and has some steamy moments to satisfy the reader. If you like a good storyline, with a couple of steamy scenes and a bit of time travel mixed in then this is the book for you. I’m sure that you’ll enjoy.

Night of the Berserkers is my current favorite of the Berserker series. Second favorite being Brenna’s story. But, yanno, I’ve read all of them up to this point, so I think they’re all still really good. I just like this one the best because it dings a lot of my dingers.

The big thing for me is that Yeseult is my favorite character, and has been, even before she got her own story. I like reading about strong women. May we be them, may we admire them, may we raise them. And Yeseult has always had her own mind, done her own thing for her own reasons. So we get to explore her unique mind a bit more.

Additionally, I’m a sucker for almost any time travel story. So this one is both period-ish AND it has magic-y time travel too. Yippee!

Also, this is definitely one that moves forward the story arc of the world of the Berserkers a LOT. If you’re at all invested in the Corpse King story (and by book 10 you probably are), then you don’t want to miss this book.

I will say it’s more plot-heavy than many of the previous books, but I didn’t mind, because I wanted to see what happens next. That does mean that there are less sex scenes than we have come to expect from previous books.

Speaking of the sex scenes, two thoughts. 1. If you are triggered by rape you might want to be wary. Our heroes would NEVER in a Berserker book, but the villain certainly tries. 2. For better or worse, there is less BDSM than probably any of the other Berserker books to this point. It all works, it’s just different. And I suppose that makes sense, since Yeseult is different than the other spaewives.

In short:
- Yeseult finally gets her own story and her own mates.
- Her story is different than the others, because SHE is different than the spaewives. It suits.
- Time traveling Berkerkers
- The plot moved forward in this story. Big stuff happens.
- The sex was less BDSM snd still hot.

Cons
- There some scenes that skirt close to or around rape. None of the good guys, but it’s still in there, so if that’s something that triggers you, you should be aware going in.

Surprisingly awesome!

I did not think I'd like Yseult's story, but I did. It was to look short. Ugggggghhhh.

The book before this, Yseult secretly laments losing her ability to be a spaewife, to protect herself. Who knows how old she really is.

She is sent back 1000 years in time to find the spell to find the Corpse King. She has one day and night, and that is all, and with no magical powers at all.

She goes from being captured by the guard to being a bride for the king. She also heals one of the berserkers who've gone mad, just by touching him.

One of her future mates dreamed of this moment. It was foretold. She ends up having 4 mates, instead of 2 or 3. It makes sense since she was the most powerful of her sister witches.

Yseult isn't used to feeling vulnerable and is overwhelmed with the feelings of a spaewife. She faces the Corpse King 3x. Once, he overwhelms her and hides his true form from her. And he bruises her neck. The ghosts of his brides are communicating with her.

Another time, he tries to seduce her, then rape her, but she uses the moonstone given to her by one of her mates. The ghosts of women past told her to use it, and it hurts him. Instead, he beats her and gives her to the berserkers. Her four mates protect her from being given to All the berserkers. And the rain pours, and then they all seem her blessings.

She has one night with them, and the give her the mating bite and solidify their mating bond, and in the morning, they're all gone ........fighting the other berserkers.

The ghosts of her mates' mothers don't want to see them die and instruct her on binding him. The castle crumbles. Her mates fell and she woke up back in her own time, with her 4 mates.

She talked to her sister witches and they will play a part in the oncoming war. She still dreams of their death ........So hoping it doesn't happen.

I'll start by saying that I'm not really a fan of reverse harem stories. It's difficult to get that "true love" feeling with multiple partners. But this author has created her entire Berserker series on the brother bond that supports and sustains these warriors before they find their mates, so the concept of them sharing a mate really fits in with the characters and the overall story world.

In this story, the witch we've come to know and yet remain suspicious and nervous about, Yseult, gets a bit of a revised history backstory as she's the one chosen to go back in time to discover the secret to defeating the Corpse King. Once there, the warriors that she helps also aid her in her quest, and they recognize something in her that is essential to their own lives. All four men are very different, each with their own strengths and weaknesses, each one bringing something different to the newly-formed family unit.

It's easy to see why Yseult would fall in love with each of them, and we're all a little jealous that she doesn't have to choose just one or even two. These men also have a strong bond with each other that predates their relationship with Yseult, thus eliminating any jealous conflicts that could arise. There's a delightful playfulness to their relationship which nicely balances the seriously dramatic story of defeating the evil mage.

Each book in the series is a standalone romance and this one is as well. However, because Yseult is such an important character in the Berserker series and the battle against the Corpse King is the ongoing conflict, this book is extremely important to the entire series and shouldn't be missed. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

When I started reading this story I was confused. There were points that I understood and points that I didn't so it wasn't cohesive until later on. That put me off the book and for that reason, it took me longer to read it until the end.

That being said. I loved the end of the story. I wish it was longer so I could enjoy it even more but I think Lee Savino did well with that ending. Solved questions but gave more for a future story, if possible.

As a whole story, I think it was short, not too developed and the characters felt a little flat at times. I was more interested in the relationship but the overall plot was always in the back of my mind.

I understand what the author wanted to do with the way the story was told, the words used and the prose, but I was expecting a little more considering I've read Lee Savino's work in the past. I had to tell myself that this was not the same work, that each series is different even when the author is the same.

I would recommend it if you want a story that has some magic elements to it and some sci-fi sprinkle on it.

I would also try to remember when reading this book, that the shortness of it won't allow for much character development and, the world it's set but we don't get to see much of it.

Night of the Berserkers is a connected story to Ms. Savino’s Berserker Saga. Yseult has shown up many times throughout the saga, but we see her as a very powerful witch with spaewife knowledge. Now, her witch sisters sent her back in time to gather knowledge on the Corpse King and how to defeat him. Finding a connection with four men in his army was not part of the plan. With her life on the line, her magic just out of reach, and just one night, will Yseult find a way to defeat the Corpse King and keep her Berserkers safe?

Oh my, what a book! I almost forgot how amazing Ms. Savino’s Berserker books are and how much I want a pair (or four) for myself! I really loved this book. Yseult has always been so confident and strong, but this book allows all of her weaknesses to shine through and triumph. Tristan, Ivar, Lars, and Magnus are all so powerful, have their own special magic, and allow Yseult to be vulnerable only with them. Their love keeps everyone strong and sane. The Corpse King and ghosts were amazing elements that surprised me in the best of ways, and I really enjoyed the battle scenes. Ms. Savino weaves her words like magic to draw you into her world, and this book was no different. I loved reading it and highly recommend the entire Berserker Saga to others!

We get to see Yseult in a completely different way with this story. In one night only, Yseult arrives on the land of the Corpse King's domain. She arrives without her powers, absolutely no magic to help her in her quest to find out how to stop or destroy the king. The night is full of revelations as she meets Berserkers Tristan, Ivar, Lars and the giant wild Berserker, Magnus. As the Corpse King is getting stronger she must find out how to stop his gathering of the power he gains from taking spaewives and sacrificing them to take his power from them. Yseult is tested by touching a Moonstone and when the stone reacts to her, her future as a spaewife is threatened. The 4 Berserkers all feel an instant connection to Yseult as she feels towards them and the five of them have a night of steaming hot sex.
The Berserkers try their best to protect Yseult from the King, but they fail against the black magic that the Castle reeks of and Yseult must meet face to face with the Corpse King.
I was surprised how good this story was being set during one day and night but Lee Savino pulled it off with a great book that gave us all the information needed for the quest and the matching of and mating with Yseult's Berserkers.

Yseult, Tristan, Magnas, Lars, Ivar

Yseult is chosen of all of the witch sisters to try to find a way to defeat the Corpse King. When the spell is completed, she finds herself one thousand years in the past with none of her witch powers.
She is discovered by Lars and Ivar in a field. They take her to their commander, Tristan. Tristan tries to find out why she is there but one of the Corpse Kings right hand men Gaul, wants her whipped first. But Lars brings out a moonstone which glows when it comes close to her. That means that she will be saved for the king.
On her way to her chambers a large wild man attacks but is taken to the dungeon and chained. Yseult asks to see him and saves him from his madness, which is the Berserker rage. This man is Magnus.
All four of these men pledge to help Yseult in any way they can. She must fight for herself and her men while trying to find a way to get rid of the Corpse king.
There are consequences that occur because of traveling back in time but I won't say what they are and spoil it. Needless to say, I am loving this twist to our Berserker stories. I am totally in love with all of these stories. Yseult's story didn't have the BDSM quality that they usually have, but I enjoyed it just the same. Keep up the good writing Lee.

How many Berserkers does it take to save a witch?

What happens when Iseult, the most powerful of witches, is sent magically back in time to the lair of the evil sorcerer who cursed the Berserkers? Bad news first: she arrives without any of her hard-won magical powers - she's just Iseult, maiden spaewife and apparently helpless victim of the sorcerer. Kinda hard to kill a supernatural superstar of evil when your mojo is sitting in the Unclaimed Baggage section of the time travel terminal... But our Iseult has always been clever, driven to succeed, and as brave as they come. She'll face the corpse king, learn the secret of his magic and the spell that will defeat him, or she'll die trying. Now the good news: four magnificent Berserker guards find as many ways as possible to aid the sweet young woman who materializes at their master's castle. She calms and heals berserkers with a touch and a word, and they'll do anything to protect her - including fall in love! HEA and steamy romance, magic and danger, and BERSERKERS! Lee Savino's Berserker Saga continues to enthrall! I was lucky enough to be gifted an ARC of this book, and my voluntary opinion is "this is a great read."

I enjoy a good Harem story but I LOVE reading reverse harem stories.
This story is about Yseult a very powerful witch and her Berserkers. She is a powerful witch and through out this series I have wondered about her. Sometimes I wondered if she was missing a part of herself.
In this book we have everything, time travel, magic, battles and love. Yseult goes back in time to find the spell that bound the Corpse King.
While she is there she has no magic and meets her mates. They have all dreamed of her and heard her voice in their dreams. They have one night together before she needs to return to her time.
I love the way Tristan, Ivar, Lars and Magnus are so quick to recognize Yseult and protect her. She pulls her mates into her time and must decide what she wants. She is a strong woman and witch I love how she has that doubt that all of us carry. She is so relatable.
I really can not wait to see what happens next, where will Yseult and her Berserkers end up? I am so addicted to these books.

Who would have thought that we could love and care for Yseult?? Answer: Read Night of the Berserkers: A Reverse Harem Romance the next breathtaking story in this series!!
Yseult was not one of my favorite characters in previous books, even though she helped the Berserkers find their mates before they became beasts that had to be destroyed. Each book tells its own story, no repetition, no reiteration, Lee Savino keeps us on edge, as she writes about Sexy, Dominant Berserkers and their admiring mates. In this story, Yseult lands in the Corpse King’s domain and she needs to put an end to his power. AND, she finds her Beserkers! Four of them! Tristan, Ivar, Lars and Magnus, who from the moment they see her they feel a connection and become determined not to let anything happen to her. Lee Savino tells a story that takes us completely by surprise! She shows us a Yseult who is determined, strong minded, and through the love of her warriors and hope to help the Berserkers finds her way into our hearts. Thank you for another amazing story!

We are still dealing with the Corpse King. Yseult and her sisters decide the only way to destroy the Corpse King is to send her to defeat him. But using magic can be tricky. Tristan experiences the call, unsure as to what it is or who calls to him. Ivar & Lars smell a sweet scent. Could it be the woman that is meant for them? Magnus dreams a field of death of the warriors. Where is this place? But the catch is this, Yseult has been thrust back in time where the Centurions ruled. And could this also be the start of when the Berserker’s were cursed?

This was such a strong and compelling story. For Yseult to be stripped of her power made her no different from all the spaewives. But the warriors were fighting to save her but be loyal to their king. I have to say I cried when I she was delivered to the king. It wrenched my heart. And when she had to face the king, UGH!!! This one made me feel so sad for Yseult.

Oh Man I always viewed Yseult as a villain because of the way she was first presented, yeah she was helpful for a price but this story showed her in a different light. She gets a foursome in the commander, Tristan and his captains Lars, Ivar and Magnus who happens to be my favorite as he is the gentle giant,

Going back in time Yseult is sent to discover how the spell was wrought that kept the Corpse King asleep for a thousand years. Arriving in the meadow the once powerful Yseult is laid bear when she discovers she has no powers at all thus getting captured by Lars and Ivar who bring her to their commander.

I really enjoyed this entry into the Berserker saga and cannot wait to see what happens next. Which spaewife and berserkers find love in the continuing battle to defeat the Corpse King. I voluntarily read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.
