As the darkness spreads, help comes when she needs it the most…

Marina Fae never considered herself a powerful witch or dreamed that she would one day be a warrior fighting to save her people. Her life changes when the Sea Witch’s dark magic sweeps across the Isle of Magic, turning those who resist or cannot escape to stone. Finding refuge in the dense mountain forest, Marina fights to protect the children left behind by Magna’s wave of destruction.

Detective Mike Hallbrook’s search for two women who disappeared in Yachats State Park takes an unexpected turn. He soon finds himself on an unfamiliar beach after rescuing a woman being attacked by a creature straight out of a horror movie. Stunned by the wild tale she tells him and the evidence surrounding them, he soon learns that everything she says is true—magic does exist—and that he is no longer on Earth. Marina’s pleas for help are impossible for Mike to ignore, and he knows he will do whatever he can to help save her people.

Marina and Mike must work together to save the Isle of Magic. As the Sea Witch’s evil spreads, they know they cannot stop her alone. With the help of the Dragon King and the King of the Sea People, they will confront the Sea Witch once and for all. But, what happens when they discover a darker entity hidden beneath—an entity that can only be stopped by the person they are trying to kill?

While the first two books wasn't a favorite in the fantasy romance genre I found them quite enjoyable to read but this one just passed by unnoticed. I don't remember much of what I read even if I finished it yesterday which is a clear sign for me that the story didn't do much for me. I don't know of im loosing interest in this series or if this one was just a dud for me. But I'll finish the series soon

I love this series. I adore how S.E. Smith writes a growly super alpha hero with a soft heart for his lady love.

The Isle of Magic is under attack!

Mike Hallbrook is a detective with the police department of Yachats, Oregon. He has kept a case open for two missing women for over a year now. He doesn't know why but he decides to go down to the beach where they were both known to have been last. While there he gets caught up in a vortex and meets Marina, a witch of the Isle of Magic. Be walks into a situation whereby the Sea Witch has taken over the Isle and it is up to the two of them to save everyone.
This is the third book in the Seven Isles series, the first two telling what happened to Carly and Jenny the missing girls.
This is a nice series but it didn't grab me the way Cosmo's Gateway and the other series did! I'm not sure why but I do know that my favourite of all the books is Gracie's Touch I think that Susan outdid herself in that. My biggest complaint is that I read through all the books listed at the back of this one and there was not one that I haven't got! This is not a happy state of affairs because any S.E.Smith book is a good book! A Witch's Touch is suitable for all ages.

In the fourth of the Seven Kingdoms tales, Mike Hallbrooks, the police detective from Yachats Oregon who has been looking for Carly and Jenny who have been missing for years finds out the federal government is also interested in the disappearances. Taking a walk with his dog he is accidentally sucked into the alternate universe because a witch is fighting for her life and inadvertently snatched Mike and man’s best friend unawares. Now he is invested in saving Marina Fae her family and finding the sea and dragon kings to find the 2 missing women. He and Charlie May have but off more than they can swallow when he sees he’ll beasts and more magic than in a movie and is drawn to Marina so much that he doubts he can leave her. The sea witch has caused so much death and destruction but Mike is sure he can save his new friends and find the happiness that has eluded him at home. Magic rules and I look forward to the next in the series.

What a magical story!
I’ve really been enjoying this series! Each story dives deeply into the magical attributes of the different isles, bringing mythical creatures to life. Simply thrilling! It’s fascinating to see how Marina’s abilities work - and her grandmother’s abilities. Even more, how Mike affects her abilities. Yes, Mike Hallbrook, detective searching Yachats State Park for the 2 missing women, now locates them. I love the touches of humor in such a grim sounding situation. And a sweet romance to make it all worth while. Such an exciting, dangerous adventure they have! The resolution in this book is highly satisfying, but things still seem a bit incomplete. Where will this go next? I can’t wait!

Good book except the beginning. Having the CIA interested in aliens is a surprise, I would have thought Homeland Security would believe in such things, not CIA.
Love reunions and the rulers getting together (as they were the best bits).
It's good that Mike returned to deal with unfinished business before making a new life for himself. It's better to let people know that missing people doesn't necessary mean that someone has killed them. They may have just found themselves a new life & didn't think anyone would miss them. The people of Yachats deciding there is a serial killer just because a few people have made a new life for themselves is ridiculous. I don't know why people like making things up when there is always a rational explanation for everything. Except for alien abduction.

Much better

I am very glad I decided to read this book in the series. It brought together the characters from the first 2 bks with the same amount of action but, thank you, without all the explicit sex. It was a very good read. Going to get the rest of the series when they are available. Ms Smith is on my auto buy list.

Seven Kingdoms (3)

Yet another good book in this series, still loads of unnecessary junk at front and back. Someone tells me there will be a book 6 & 7 later. For now there are 5, I'll reserve judgement until I see them. But to me, for the money I paid, I want more story, less junk to fill my books

Wonderful!

What a wonderful addition to the Seven Kingdoms series. Once again Ms. Smith hits just the right balance of action, suspense and romance to make a truly delightful read. HIGHLY recommend anything she writes.

I could never work up to caring about Mike. But tbh writing is the biggest issue with these books. It’s stilted and awkward and the dialogue is a mess. I know I’m saying it 3 books in but the story and characters worked better in 1 and 2.

The best one yet

Average heroes save royal butts. A fun fantasy with Molotov cocktails, shape shifters and talking bows that need to learn to shut up. Very funny.

This book was just okay for me. I don't know what it is about this book but it did not make me fall in love with the characters in the world like The Dragon's Treasure and The Sea King's Lady did. There was nothing wrong with Marian and Mike but something just seemed a bit... 🤔 off. I could not connect to Marian and Mike and that tends to never happen when it comes to S.E. Smith's books.

We never got to figure out what magic Mike has and what does it mean truly when it comes to them as a unit. I am excited that the Sea Witch was defeated but I have a soft spot for Magna. I understand that she has been controlled and that is why she did those awful things but I still have a feeling that no matter what she does people will still think her as the Sea Witch. I really hope that she does not retain that label because her actions throughout the first three books of the series had moments where you can tell that she tried her hardest to not do the evil things that she had to.

I am looking forward to Magna's book The Sea Witch's Redemption. I just have a sneaking suspicion that is just going to be fabulous. I love a good old-fashioned redemption story and also I enjoy a tortured hero. I have a soft spot for tortured heroes even if the hero is a female. There's not a lot of times where an author writes a tortured hero story involving a female, most of the time they tend to be male and I enjoy the fact that Magna is going to be my first female.

If you have not read this series then do so, you will not be disappointed.
We are getting Ms Smiths very different and entertaining characters in this fun fantasy story.
Another fantastic and interesting read from Ms Smith. This review is for the extended version which I loved.
This is book three in the wonderful and mythical Seven Kingdoms series. I was one of the lucky few who was able to read the original short version of this story and the ones that followed.
Ms Smith has once again proven how clever she is by taking a short fun read for her fans that just scratched the surface of a story and turning it into this great read.
This story goes so much deeper than the fun version and gives us so much more about everything and everyone. I feel like I am getting to know these people and their emotions.
Mike is wonderful as a hero and his connection to Marina shines in this book.
We also get so much more time with the rest of the Isles inhabitants as they all come together to fight Magna.
Interesting little extra information we get about King Ashure.
