Keo has tried to stay out of it, but five years in the wild have only led him back to the one place he dreaded most--alongside a woman from his past and fighting someone else's cause. Except this is one war he can't turn his back on. What's a reformed mercenary to do?
Lara didn't want this. Not another war to fight. She's been struggling to bring order to chaos since The Walk Out and doing it with as little bloodshed as possible. But Fenton is forcing her hand, and sometimes you have to get a little bloody, whether you want to or not.
What is happening in Fenton? Despite attempts to answer that question, the mystery behind the former collaborator town remains hidden. What is Buck planning, and why has he done the unthinkable and joined forces with a blue-eyed ghoul? What is their ultimate endgame?
Those are questions Lara must answer before she commits forces to putting an end to Fenton's rampage. To do that, she'll need to rely on people she can trust to help her expose the enemy's secrets to the light of the day.
In Devil's Haircut, Book 4 in the Road to Babylon series, a mission behind enemy lines will set the stage for a battle that will shape the lives of everyone involved...and beyond.
Another excellent installment in the Road to Babylon series. (This is not a stand-alone book.) In typical fashion this is another fast-paced, very entertaining book by an extremely talented storyteller. I'm not sure if the book was too short (lol) or I read it too fast (I usually inhale them) but, regardless, I cannot wait for the next book to come out.
Another great read in the series. I really like Keo but it would be nice to see Danny return. Maybe that's for future books? Sam has done a great job keeping the series going. I know some people don't care for cliff hangers but isn't that what you have to do in an ongoing series? I'd be sad if there was a conclusion! Long live Keo & the gang!
For those who haven’t read the Road to Babylon series yet, I will recommend that you do that before reading this series. Otherwise you will have no idea of what is going on or why. Basically up until now, this series has been about the lives of Lara, Gaby and mostly Keo, post the Houston Walk out, where Will/Fred sacrificed himself in order to save humanity from the ghoul apocalypse. In the five years since Houston, Keo has left the Black Tide community and apparently a relationship (?) with Lara, who has become the de facto leader of the Black Tiders. Unfortunately, humanity hasn’t changed since the ghoul s and instead of learning from the mistakes of the past, some of the groups that sprung up since the Walk Out, have been attacking other towns that seek to live peacefully, killing the men and taking the women and children. Sounds familiar? One of the towns attacked just happened to be where Keo lives, and he was close to one of the women who was raising her teenage daughter. SS (the author) does an excellent job weaving different threads of the story into a vivid tapestry which shows the reader a complete picture of what is going on to that point. The reason for 4 stars and not five? Sometimes it just feels a bit drawn out for me and I find myself skipping ahead. Also the reason for the “M”’s taking the women and children seems pretty obvious, yet as intelligent and quick thinking that these characters are portrayed as being, they’re totally clueless. Also what is in it for Buck? That’s never addressed. So while I am recommending this, there’s some frustrating issues that I have found in the storyline. One the positive side, I enjoyed the humor.

I love Keo, so this book was a winner from page one. His sense of humor and lack of realizing what a hero he really is, keeps his character refreshing. Enjoyed the action, finding out a bit of Buck's plan, but still not about the mysterious warehouse. Hated when it ended not knowing the fate of many favorite characters, so I will wait patiently...lol..until April. Great book, thanks for the enjoyable read!
That's our Keo! Can't follow orders to save his life. This time he may have bitten off more than he can chew. A mission to find out what secrets Buck is hiding in Fenton goes awry when Keo changes the plan mid-sneak. My only complaint is that the book is too short for the price and the cliffhanger ending feels forced - like some authors do so you HAVE to buy the next book. Hope this is not a continuing theme.
interesting story but how can anybody like this main protagonist Keo?
I enjoyed the story but I just don’t like the main protagonist. I don’t see how anybody would wanna read a book with Kio as the hero. Yes he’s funny but he’s arrogant as well. He gets his entire team in trouble because he decides to do what he wants to do. You may like the storyline you may also like the main protagonist I do not and will not read anymore.
When you get to the last sentence and don’t have the next book downloaded!@#$@
Okay, Keo, Lara, Gaby and now Claire... it’s like old friends coming back into your life! Another amazing and fast paced read, pretty sure I knocked it out in three or four days and I work 7 twelves... cost me a lot of sleep but worth it. Well done Sam!
Welcome to another page turner by Mr. Sisavath. Fenton has been infiltrated and now all my suspicions are messed up. I’d curious to see who the prisoner is changed up like a feral monster. Again, whats going on with the women and children? There’s another new player against Fenton and Buck. The war is about to come to a head. And Keo and Lara need to get on with it, they clearly want each other.

Keo doesn’t take breaks. He moves from one shitty situation to the next, but manages to live despite those trying to give him to Merrick. He is slippery or lucky, maybe both. Very good read, quick too! Always recommend these books. Sam Sisivath keeps-’em coming!! Don’t stop Sam!!
I was fortunate to stumble on Sam Sisivath's first book when it just came out. I've thoroughly enjoyed both series for the storyline, pace and humor. I look forward to each new book.
Have really enjoyed all the books in this story. As always I can't wait until the next. The problem is that I can't put them down. I need to read slowly and enjoy like a glass of wine but I can't.
The Road to Babylon books have been nothing but outstanding. I just hope we don't have to wait so long for the next one. As you can see, loved the book and the Series.
What kind of name is Keo? Jake was taken... Seriously get another excellent book in the purge series that sucks you into the world and makes you almost wish you were there fighting side by side with the good guys! Can't wait for the next book.
Enjoying the development of Keo's character. Surprised that Buck has gathered so much firepower and is after Lara. What does Buck want? Leo's journey continues to our delight!
This one picks up where the last one left off and moves quickly through to the end of this chapter. There are a couple of new characters. I'll be taking a little break before starting on the next one but I can't wait.
I love this series. I really do. But you’re not giving me anything to work with here. I started out with Will and Danny. You killed Will, the least you could do is give me Danny.
