This is Ms. Millers best book to date. Her characters could be my friends, and the story flows as if I am there.

Take a shot of Whiskey

This was a great, second chance book about a bartender & a man enlisted in the service who meet & fall for each other in an instant. But when Austin breaks Whiskey’s heart by ending things, how can she move on without him?

I love how strong & independent Whiskey is and how she is determined to work on her dream of opening her own bar one day. Even though she feels vulnerable & broken, she managed to move on with her life, even meeting someone new. It hurt what Austin did & how he did it, but I couldn’t blame him from doing that with everything that happened to him when he was deployed. Knowing he did it out of love for Whiskey had me rooting for these two to find their way back to each other.

This story was just what I needed to get out of a reading slump. Whiskey, a bartender and Austin, an Army Ranger, have a whirlwind romance that comes crashing down leaving her devastated. She is finally getting her stuff together when her past sits down in a barstool.

Tragedy had taken two years from this amazing couple. Now Whiskey has a choice to make. This was a quick easy romance. The characters were super likable. Austin gives us a glimpse into the life of a Rangers and Wounded Warrior. Whiskey knows what she wants, and when that is taken she puts her determination into getting her own bar. Running from sadness can have benefits but even better rewards.

Have a shot for me!

Mareta L. Miller is a new author to me and after choosing amongst her books, I decided to start with Whiskey. As I type in this review, I feel that my heart is still very much affected by the story she wrote. It is so beautiful and heartbreaking but also full of love that it's one story that will stick with you long after you've read it.
Sweet, heartbreaking and yet very uplifting. I would re-read it again even if it meant that I will be crying with Whiskey.

Don't let the page count fool you - you are getting a full story!!1

Whiskey is living her life, working towards her dream of owning her own bar when in walks a stranger...and the rest is this story. BUT, it is not a straight line. There is a bit of a fork in the road after a sharp bend. Which way will she go.

I loved this story and really thought it was going to end a different way there for a bit, but I was invested in the beginning and I wanted THAT end. Luckily the author gave me all that I desired and a chaser of an epilogue.

Loved it!

Great second chance romance story! Brings to light what family and significant others go through when the military are off serving our country. Austin tried to set Whiskey free so she could move on with out him. Over the years he was gone, she was able to do that but her love for Austin never died.

So Good

Most shorter books feel fast paced or rushed. This did not have that issue. This was a great, emotional and detailed read. I can't believe how much she was able to pack in this book.

A true second chance romance.

While being one of the wives that never had to say goodbye to their soldier for more than basic training, AIT and other mandatory training, I still relate to this story. A soldiers obligation is hard on any spouse whether its for a 6-9 months of training or more. Or maybe he/she has a more serious mission. Don't even think that girlfriends/boyfriends don't feel the hurt either, its a hard thing to deal with no matter the situation. Each family has to deal with it whether you have kids or you don't.

This book spoke to me at the Wanderlust book signing, I was a little more reserved with my money this time around. I crumbed with this book, I just needed to have it, and it was the first book I purchased. I was not disappointed. I read this book in a couple hours and I just couldn't get enough.

Gosh, I don't know how to say this but you need to read this book! That is all, lol!

Ok maybe I'll give you more. Whiskey (nickname), is a bartender in Las Vegas Nevada. She meets a man by the name of Austin and it happened so quickly... find out more by reading. (Evil laugh)
