Seuss knew his mate was out there, but he avoided “The Calling” because the time wasn’t right. He didn’t know that he would meet his mate today, and not under these circumstances. Would he lose her before he even had a chance to make her his?
Justice had one goal that night: to celebrate her birthday. Why was there a strange man chasing her? How did she end up in the hospital? And who told her heart to fall in love - and with a wolf? Wait, wolves are real?
When the voices begin to speak, Jade Royal sits down in her lab to write the tale. The story unfolds with each keystroke as she listens to her instincts bring the words to life. For as long as she can remember, Jade has always expressed her creative nature artistically, especially by writing. She refers to herself as “Slave to the Pen” because it’s difficult for her to resist the call to write.

She spends Sunday evenings eating dinner with them keeping the bond between family nice and strong. Jade Royal is the author of the series Limits of Love. The series focuses on love, romance, and the eroticism of the two combined. The first book was released in December of 2016.

DNF @ 60% May re-visit, but there’s just nothing really going on. The H & h have spent very little time with each other, and I’ve got a stack of TBR’s to get through.
A shifter mate read that is a bit different form the rest. Celebrating her birthday leads to more than just a fun night for Justice. Not expecting his mate to be non-wolf Suess is caught off guard when his path crosses with Justice. An interesting read.
I have never read a book of wolf's and shifting love story. Didnt know what to expect but i was pleasantly surprised. Great story of challenges and finding your mate. Seuss protects Justice for years and healing her. She heals suess and they finally mate.
This was good, but could have been better. Too much healing time. By enough action. Needed to see her learn how to shift. Was it being suppressed? Not enough info. Thought Dad was the bad guy. I will read the next to see if I continue the series.
This, this is why I love reading. This book has a little bit of everything. Tragedy, adventure, danger, mystery, romance, love, steamy bedroom heat, heartbreak, paranormal, a great storyline and terrific writing. Add in a hot Alpha wolf and his mate that doesn’t know she’s a wolf, and you have an addictive book. Perfect start to a series I’m already craving to read more of.
After getting a rough and rocky start in life, Justice finds herself in a loving, adoptive home with wonderful parents. Unfortunately, on her eighteenth birthday, a drunk driver crashed into and killed her parents; leaving her alone in the world with only Ms. Sandy as her friend and somewhat guardian.
The story actually starts out on her 23rd birthday and she and her friends are ready to party. Because of her past she refuses riding with her friends and drives herself. This helps to both save, and destroy her life as she knows it, later in the evening after having been drugged by a man at the bar. She knows she needs to get away but she’s incredibly impaired and almost kills herself and ends up causing a multiple car wreck which, unfortunately, does kill others.
She doesn’t know who she really is but this near tragedy brings her wolf mate to the scene of the wreck in which he takes the “hunter” who drugged her and hit her head-on and he is now helpless at having to abandon his mate to authorities with the hopes of finding out what she was poisoned with so he can save her. Despite not wanting to leave, he knows he must or she will die.
Whew! All of this and we aren’t even into Chapter 3. LOL This story grabbed me from the very first page and after having abandoning all “adulting” duties for the day and one very late night, I ended up reading the entire book in one day. It’s just THAT good. I could barely put it down and couldn’t stop until I got to the end.
Absolutely loved this first book of the Imprinted Mates Series. I cannot wait to read more from this series.
I don’t normally write reviews for books unless they are absolutely amazing and based on the 2 stars we know it wasn’t for me. This book was honestly ALL over the place it had sooooo much going on and soooo much of it wasn’t explained or even thought out. For me this feels like the author had an idea in her head and wrote the outline. Didn’t dig deep enough like I feel this story needed. I can’t stand a book that doesn’t give you information or details when it’s so fast paced they skip the actual story. This book was short and could have been longer especially when the continuation is probably short as well. I don’t get it when a author writes a story that in my opinion is unfinished and scatter brained and it’s short and then there’s a second book that’s not new characters but continues the story. Why not just combine the books then? If this storyline was thought out more I think it would have been better but then again we won’t know and I won’t be giving the second book a chance I barely made it through this one and on my iPad it’s only 165 pages and that’s only a 2 hours read for me. Now on to find something else ✌🏾
*WARNING* contains explicit adult sexual situations Seuss is alpha of his pack. Seuss takes a blocker to keep him from finding his mate, he just isn't ready right now. Seuss has a lot going with taking over such a large pack, getting rid of the traitors, uh-oh he forgot his blocker and his mate us in major trouble. Justice needs to get rid of her virginity and today is her birthday! Justice is feeling hormonal, so what better night? Justice should have stayed home because having your drink drugged us no fun. I enjoyed this book and will be watching for book 2. I like to read PNR, but this one had so many different aspects. The way he knew his mate, their travel method, guardians, mages, black magic, thing story was original in many ways. The stubborn "who needs to talk" quality remains the same though. I would recommend this to all adult PNR fans.
Love quick reads and shifters. Odyssey or Suess is the leader of the group and he will do what ever he needs to. He is the biggest wolf but needs a mate. Justice has been through a lot. Kissing her real parents and then being adopted and losing them too. She knows her life is made to be alone. One night a man made her feel scared and she ran, but got into a car accident. Justice felt a bond but wasn’t sure if it was the right one. Odyssey used his energy to heal her but by doing so it drained him. Justice needed to heal Odyssey now but they were back and fourth since they aren’t mates. Things come to light when Justice walks away and needs her mate. Will she survive without him or will she end up dying and the end of her story. Need to read this. It’s super quick but keeps you wanting more.
Justice and Seuss had a bit of a convoluted tale to tell. They’re mates, but not completely. She’s in danger, but so is he. And when the enemies can be anywhere, it’s difficult to know who to trust. I sort of wish that this had been a longer read because there were a few things that had me slightly confused along the way. This was my first book by this author, so it could be that I missed a prior book that was important, but it was still relatively easy to fill in the blanks, for the most part.
Overall, this was an interesting read and I found myself not putting the book down in boredom, so I’d likely give the next book in this series a try also. There were definitely characters I’d like to know more about, so why not?
I loved Suess and Justice. They both have had plenty of trouble and tragedy in there lives. When more tragedy strikes they find each other. As they maneuver this tragedy they move forward with there lives and learn their feelings for each other. There is plenty of action and angst and it kept me reading. All of the characters in this book were great.
Why I rated this book a 3 was I felt like there were parts missing. Such as: - Between the accident and her going to Suess's home what happened between them - We find out Justice's past but it seems like it should have played more into the story than it did - I was confused what happened between Suess and his family - The man in the accident - his role in the accident seemed significant but it never went beyond that chapter.
I tried so hard to like this book. I really did. I even finished it. I was able to finish it partly because it was short and sheer random nonsense that kept coming from the story had me wondering what “not great” and very “not smart” plot twist was coming next. It felt like it was written poorly on purpose. It’s as if a really talented 14 year old wrote it…meaning, they have the ability to write dialogue (not the best, but still) but the plot was an amalgamation of genres. *spoilers*
Oh and then they threw in cocaine and driving while impaired after saying how the main character hates their bio parent because they were a drug addict and their adoptive parents perished in an accident…. A million facepalms.
I was not a fan of illness being used for the majority of the book as a excuse for the two leads to barely have a conversation. I found this boring & disjointed. This is why I hesitate to read fated mates story, there's no romance between the couple because they don't need it because they're fated. Justice was dull but to be fair so was her mate. Made zero sense for justice to say she don't do drugs because of her biological mom & in the next breath do drugs anyway. There was no flow to this story & you could already see the ending long before it came. It's strange to read a book about supernatural beings that are constantly sick & weak.
This book is pretty good I love how the heroine is a strong woman thru the majority of the book. The fact that we get to learn more about her and not just her with the alpha makes it extra special I feel like most of this type of book created a strong female character to later make her a weak luna. A couple of things in the book were a little too much and felt extra cant really say what because it could be a spoiler buy I'm just going to say I didn't see the need for nine of them. Overall is really good with enough steam in it to be a good romance novel.
This book starts off a little on the sad side. Adopted parents killed on her 18th birthday by a drunk driver. So then the story starts with her 23rd birthday where everything seems to be going ok and wanting to start new adventures, but this is where everything changes for her and she discovers she is something more then a plain girl. Who is this Seuss guy, whats a Alpha and why was she here. Romance, Steamy Scenes, tragedy and so heartbreak this book has it all. I think you will enjoy the story I wanted more but I always do when the book is a great one.
Great start to a new series! Shifters....Witches....Magic - what’s not to like?!? Story flows well. Took half a star off because there were a few parts when I wanted more - details, dialogue, development (like how did a promise to name a girl Sandy become Odyssey the following page?), but overall it was a fun, thoroughly entertaining read. The shaving scene is gonna stick with me for awhile! 😂 I’m excited to read the next book where I hope Maddox gets his own story.
A 3.5. I felt this book was a bit of a drawn out introduction with not a lot happening. I think the fact Seuss and Justice probably only spent about a 10% of the book awake and conversing with each other made it harder to get caught up in the romance. Seuss was unconscious then Justice left the pack. There was a hint in the epilogue that there might be more action in coming books but I felt this lacked the usual intensity of a shifter book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is not my usual genre choice but I am glad to have read this action packed and emotionally fuel story. Justice was a character that endured so much loss at a young age. Suess was a fantastic character as well. I enjoyed the emotions, love , drama and the shape shifter elements in this story. Great storyline and theme. Shows that power of love I am volunteering to leave a review for this book.
Why were The Firm after Justice if she didn't even know what or who she really was, none the less her soul called out to Seuss just as his did to her, enjoyed this book, with them fully mated I know their bond will be able to withstand any and everything, I feel Justice has more power within than anyone knows and it will come out when her family/ pack is threatened just a thought.
I really enjoyed this book! I love paranormal romance and this one hit the nail on the head. I can't wait to read what happens next! I loved Justice and Suess from the beginning! Justice is the perfect compliment to Suess. Now we just need to see Maddox settle down. If you are a PNR fan or have never read the genre, I highly recommend this book!!
This was a quick easy read. I enjoyed my trip back to the land of the paranormal! Jade created a unique world full of assorted characters, some not who they appear, and others I so want to know more about!! I love Suess and Justice and their unique connection! I hope there are more books to come, especially Maddox and Suess' brothers!
We meet Justice first, who’s heading for a night out with friends, and that night is going to end badly. She’s injured and needs help, which Seuss is willing to give.
Love this two characters, and their slow relationship, of getting to know each other :) pack life sounds amazing, and I loved the family vibe given from the pack house. Cannot wait to ready the second instalment.
I was quite please with this book after reading it because I didn't know what to expect. It was a short, easy read that kept you invested from start to finish. It was well written, had light action, some drama and some sexy moments. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next book to see what happens with Justice and Seuss.
This is my first book by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. I was captivated from the very beginning and I could not put it down until the end. I cannot wait to read more books in this series. Wonderful characters and easy to understand with a little bit of everything in it. Fantastic read and highly recommended.
It is always interesting to read a new take on the Shifter Universe. Ms. Royal has given us a hot, relatively quick read about Seuss and his fated mate Justice. Much of the book is from Justice’s POV. The book does not exactly end on a cliffhanger but we do see that the story is far from over. I do hope that Maddox has a story at some point.
An interesting start to a new series. Seuss and Justice are fated mates, but there is a lot of insecurity, trust, and past issues to deal with. There were times the whole story became a bit of a hot mess for me. But at the heart of it all was interesting story, just not always told the best. There were times the storyline bogged down for me.
This was a great paranormal shifter read about Suess and Justice. The twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. Justice hasn't had it easy and when she meets Suess, she realizes things are changing for her. This was a great, action packed read and I couldn't stop reading until I finished it. Love the start to this new series and I can't wait to read more.
Short enough that the reader doesn’t have to suffer through it too long. The story feels incomplete. The main premise is decent but a lot of detail is missing or flat out wrong. (Wolves don’t roar!)
I keep trying Jade Royal books because I do think she has interesting storylines, I just wish she would take her time to fully develop them.
Great paranormal book . Love justice true alpha female. Once she realize that was a wolf she embraces it. She Shield her mate when he was in need of healing. Can say more but I get the out. Read and I will enjoy it
This book instantly draws you into the main character's world. With a strong female main character, who has had a heartbreaking childhood and then grow up to find that she's shifter. Can't wait for the next book.
