Kerry Hamm's ninth volume of 'A Collection of Reader-Submitted Medical Stories' is packed with laughter and is sure to keep you entertained.
OB staff members write in with their strangest encounters, medics recall embarrassing moments, and nurses vent about frustrating incidents. We learn about even more odd things patients have gotten stuck in their orifices, and we share the laughter and confusion with the healthcare professionals who treated these patients.
So, take this book to your nurses lounge to flip through while you're on break (WHAT BREAK?!), read it while you're staging, catch up on all the drama on your day off, or relive all the craziness while you're enjoying your retirement. You WILL laugh as you read firsthand accounts from healthcare professionals who share their experiences as a reminder that you are NOT alone, and you're not losing your mind!
His "Message to the reader: (a timely rant)" is in itself worth the read
I have always enjoyed his books although I'm not in the medical field . I have to say the one in this book titled "Cold Justice" seemed out of place. I was left kind of wondering why it was included but that's ok too. I really enjoyed the way the author talks to the reader. And the book's stories are unlimited and are always so humorous.. I truly have to cross my knees and legs while laughing.
Kerry showed the other side of nursing with this book
Was shocked to hear how much disrespect that has been shown to nurse's. Treating them like slaves, the hours that they work ,and for the money they receive is appalling. Were would we be without these people they deserve a whole lot better, and I am glad Kerry was telling the stories that hardly seems credible, but unfortunately are. Keep up the great work Kerry!
This author sure did get 2018 start off with a bang. I never can get enough of this authors writing! I sure hope that she keeps writing more and more books. This is another volume, telling all the stories about patients that have done something totally stupid to themselves or someone else. You would not even believe some of the stories told in this book. You’ll just have to read for yourself.🤔
Another great read. I still can't believe the things people do to themselves (and to others but really to themselves.) Again, I would've believe it had I not read it. Keep 'em coming, these stories are great. Can't wait for the next book. :)
A quick, short, enjoyable read- I started and finished within a couple of hours. It could have been longer. I considered 3 stars because it was so short, but decided I had enjoyed it enough for the extra star.
I don't know how I stumbled across my first Kerry Hamm book, but I'm so glad I did. I've enjoyed all of them and they never fail to entertain. I've never finished one without both tears and laughter. Keep 'em coming.
I enjoyed this book. It is difficult to believe there are people who do such stupid things. But I hope they continue doing ridiculous things, because I like to read about them.
Followed up by a personal "rant* that we need to listen to about the lack of just basic humanity in the world today (2025). We need to do better people. Well said, Kerry.
As with all of Kerry Hamm's books, many of the stories make me laugh but with others especially when children are involved I find myself crying. Thank you Kerry for compiling these stories and giving me very enjoyable reading.
