Allie and Revik race against the clock, looking for the remaining names on a mysterious list of humans and seers meant to rebuild the world after the apocalypse--hopefully before Shadow kills them all. Meanwhile, a mysterious new player starts buying up List seers and humans on the black market faster than Revik and Allie can save them.
Whoever they are, they seem to have their own copy of the Lists, and while they don't appear to be killing them, more and more Listers disappear into Dubai, the most heavily guarded of Shadow's quarantine cities. Before Allie can decide her next move, another group appears, claiming to be loyal to her.
As Allie finds out more about this new group, however, everything in her world starts to unravel. Worse, the people closest to her seem to be turning against her, including--maybe especially--her own husband.
NOTE: An alternate version of this book was previously published as part of the "ALLIE'S WAR" series (this version has been heavily revised/edited prior to re-release).
Standalone novel. No cliffhanger.

This series is exquisite literary torment - and I can't help but come back for more.
After the last book, with all the emotions and the trauma, I thought that the author might give Allie and Revik a bit of a break. You know, just a small one. After all they have been through, they deserve it. I should have known better.
This, though? This focuses so closely on their relationship, that the intrusion feels far more personal. A more disturbing invasion.
It goes without saying that there are some big reveals. And there are elements which are difficult to read. But this was nevertheless as much of a page turner as each and every one of the preceding volumes, if not more so. I can't help but want to read more.
Bring on Book 9!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Prophet: Allie's War Episodes 32-36 (Allie's War #8) J.C. Andrijeski Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre: paranormal, romance, suspense. Another lovely long read, at over 700 pages! I’ve been reading this book as individual episodes, and you can see my reviews for each one separately. Allie and Revik ( ah Revik....swoon..) are struggling once again. They’ve determined to do everything together, to have no secrets from each other, and yet as the dangers keep piling up it places them under incredible stress. The need to find the Listers before Shadow, need to know who’s been buying them up. They think they are in Dubai, and that’s where they need to go but as ever there are dangers. Shadow runs that city so not only could it be wrong, and the Listers not there, but they could be walking into a trap. Revik and Lily have had Light problems, and Revik still can only leave the tank for limited time. Kali suggests that the ship is becoming a target and they need to move the group elsewhere, but how can they when Revik and Lily need the tank....add in a stupid thing Revik does that sends Allie into a kind of catatonic state so deep is her distress, and once again everyone is in danger. Its another story of one step forward and two back, of problems stacking up faster than they can seem to solve them, and everyone unsure of what to do and having different opinions. Revik and Allie are the main focus in this book ( and I love that) and we see yet again how Allie has grown since that first novel, and just how deep and enduring their love is. They need to trust people – but which ones? And what direction do they take? If they go to Dubai then there’s all the problems of Revik being in a Dreng city when he’s vulnerable, and yet he won’t let Allie go alone. There’s the physical problems too – who do they take, how do they get in, what’s the plan for rescue and how do they carry it out? As ever its all put together in such a way that it makes sense as it unfolds. Stars: Five – its a book to join the keepers for re reading, along with the rest of the series. We’re on the home stretch now surely, and yet I will be sorry to see this end, though I really need to read how it does now! Impatient person that I am... ARC supplied by Author.
I love the story so much! Let me just start this by making that clear. There is still so much story left to tell based on the hints of spoilers that I’ve read. I need more; so much more! I don’t ever want Allie and Revik’s story to end. I’ve even told my husband that Revik is my book boyfriend and he’s just going to have to get over it (I really did!). This is one of those stories that makes you love it and you mature with your characters. I like Terry better in this story but I just wonder what Revik is going to do next to earn Trrian’s prophecy.
no… we didn’t, or at least I didn’t…. whatever I was expecting by now, I really wasn’t expecting this… which of course one more proves Andrijeski’s ingenuity 😉. After “Bridge of Light” (Book 7) the stakes were higher than ever, and to be very honest I wasn’t expected this book to top it, oh dear, I was sooo wrong! (and never happier about it). “Seer Prophet” is non-stop ride from the very first page to the very last one, while Allie and Revik try to rescue those listed in the Displacement List, before Shadow wipe out every one of them and with them any chance of survival after the apocalypse. But as Seers are being spirited away to Dubai for reasons unknown, Allie and Revik start to think that Shadow might not be their only opponent in this survival game. After reading “Seer Prophet” I learnt my lesson 😉 …. The very best book in the series will surely be the next one, because Andrijeski keeps on rising the stakes by every single… chapter, and I just can’t hardly wait to read how everything unfolds in the end 😊
Andrijeski’s fluid, fast paced, vivid and always delightful writing style, excels in getting across the actions elements with the added bonus of a good social critique, without disregarding the harsher romantic aspects of the story. A clear recommendation for any fan of intelligent dark (the darkest!) urban fantasy and/or parallel science-fiction worlds, with a single caveat: the ride eventually ends and could let the reader experiencing some sleep-deprivation, as it is very, very difficult to put down, a known side-effect of Andrijeski’s writing, but don’t they said that sleep is overrated anyway 😉. Andrijeski’s series isn’t fluffy fantasy to cozy up to with a nice beverage in your favorite armchair to numb the hours away; you will still cozy up, but you would like to make your ‘tea’ of choice a little bit stronger.
“Seer Prophet” is the eighth instalment in the “Bridge and Sword” by JC Andrijeski, a series set in a world reminiscent very reminiscent our own, albeit populated by “Seers” and Humans. Seers possess psychic abilities and are subjugated by the humans who use them for their own purposes. JC Andrijeski’s world feels very familiar and deeply alien at the very same time, populated with highly interesting characters, both seers and humans, that often blur the line between good and evil, which makes them all the more believable and relatable and captivating. Adult urban paranormal fantasy at it best, aimed at mature readers, with open views, all those who crave full dimensional characters and good stories, with a good side dish of action and entertainment, and enjoy following the evolution of the main characters through a wide story arc, those who are not afraid to cross some narrative lines in the name of a good story and explore brand-new perspectives on themes of love, bonding and fate, welcoming multidimensional characters that try to walk the moral line while finding a way to survive their own personal struggles.
Allie and Revik are trying to find the rest of the people on the list of humans and seers who will rebuild the world after the apocalypse before Shadows kills them or a new player in the game buys them. Allie also has to check out a new group who says they are her supporters whilst also doing to Dubai (a Shadow place) to retrieve more of the Listers. Add to this the fact her world is unravelling and she wonders if one of those turning against her is her own husband?
Wow - an intense and very emotional roller-coaster which might feel that it didn't push the story very far but it sure delved into the thoughts and emotions involved in the story. There were some significant events and that meant that there were plenty of twists and turns to keep you surprised. There was the departure of some characters and the introduction of some new ones too. Well written and I could definitely feel and experience everything I was reading.
** Please note you need to have read the previous books in the series to make sense of and get enjoyment from this book.
Ok, disclaimer here: I’ve read all of JC Andrijeski’s Bridge & Sword series Books (and also her related Quentin Black stories) and totally adored (both of) them, so I had very high expectations going into the eighth book of the series, Prophet: Bridge & Sword: The Final War. All I can say at this point is “wow”. Somehow even those high expectations were exceeded.
The publisher’s blurb does a good job of summarizing things without spoiling the book so I’m not going to even try, but I will say that our wonderful leads, Alyson Taylor (Allie) and her wonderfully dark, sexy and dangerous partner, Dehgoies Revik have a tough haul this time around. Once again the author does a great job with an exciting plot that even provides some neat background. If you are at all a fan of “dark, gritty science fiction and apocalyptic series with romantic (and sexy) elements” this is the book for you - though really, even though it works well standalone, you’re vastly better off reading this amazing series from the start.
Coming off of book 7, Bridge, in this series I am so happy that this addition was action-packed!
I loved the sexy banter between Allie & Revik, more so than earlier in the series. I felt like they were finally settling into their troubled relationship and getting a handle on their horrible communication skills. (We find out later that isn’t exactly the case)
I straddled the fence regarding Terian throughout the series, I love him, I love him not... Prophet settled that conflict for me in a major way. I was SHOCKED at where this installment ended up.
Overall Prophet was an excellent read that further showcased JC Andrijeski’s genius at creating art that readers can truly immerse themselves in and drown out the noise of their everyday life. A true escape.
As with all the books in this series, I fell into Ally and Revik's world from the very first pages. Again Ms Andrijeski weaves a taut, fast paced tale of a world on the brink of destruction. Of shifting alliances, staunch friendships, love, and blistering hatred. The stark contrast between the dead and dying cities, and the glittering enclaves power and money have created, made my hair stand on end at times. While Ally, Revik, and Lily grow together as a family, they have to fight intrusions into their union. And one revelation in particular rocks Ally's world to the core. While they achieve success with one of their missions, the fight is far from over. This is another un-put-down-able, sweeping excursion into the world Ms Andrijeski created.
I received Prophet, Book 8 of the Bridge and Sword series, from the author/publisher, and enjoyed the read so much, I purchased a copy when it became available for sale. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion.
Each book in the series gets more intense than the last. The plot progression didn't move as far as you'd think--especially considering the length of the book-- but significant events and twists kept the pace fast and furious. The story line was fairly insular, focused around Allie and Revik and not touching as deeply on secondary characters as I enjoy. The saga still continues, and I look forward to the next book.
In this book we finally see more happen in the " in the out door" I almost cried...almost because there are soooo many plots and twist I was not going to waste any tears...hah Yes, did they finally get Menlin ....I don't think so I feel he will show himself...this is his apocalypse after all. Well written story with so many details visuals writing that's what it is.
This series has the ability to suck me into it to the exclusion of all else. Food, sleep, none of it matters while my brain is focused on these characters. From the previous books and the blurb, I thought I had an idea of what I was going to be in for with this one, but I wasn’t even close to prepared for everything that happens. At this point I can’t read these books fast enough. I need to know what happens next.
Action, action, action. As typical of JC Andrijeski, there's no simpering, doe-eyed female fatale in this book. Nor will you find a knight in tarnished armor. Allie and Revik are dynamic characters. All the supporting characters are right there with them. Reliable as ever. There were a couple of times when I cried. Couldn't help it. JCA really knows how to deliver a story. I highly recommend JC Andrijeski's series.
In all my time reading books i have never read anything like this series. It's mind blowing . I've read all the first editions of the books and now I'm reading the new versions. Can't wait for the final book. I know that these stories will be read again and again by me. I've never re-read any other books but these and the Black series it's just that good.
Almost wasn't as crazy about this installment in the Bridge and Sword series until towards the end. Andrijeski, Mistress of the Surprising Plot Twist! I won't want this series to end, but as with any series, it can get old after a while. Characters can only take so much stress and trauma, not to mention readers!
Allie and Revik are are two characters with mythological powers and normal domestic marital issues. It’s such an odd mix but after 8 books they seem almost mundane. The overall story arc is thrilling. The enemies are hard to kill and there’s always another view to be portrayed by Ms. Andrijeski.
‘Prophet: Bridge & Sword,’ was brilliantly written! Everything seems to be culminating to this moment in time, where Revik comes face to face with Menlim. The events leading up to this moment were incredibly captivating and entertaining.
This was one long book, but definitely a good one!
After the last couple of heart wrenching/traumatic books, you would think that Allie and Revik would get some sort of respite. But that didn’t happen in this book.
While the story pretty much centered around Allie, Revik and their daughter, Lily, a lot of major things were happening. The mission to find the Listers was a success but the fight is far from over. There were some big reveals that kept this book a page turner for sure. It was fast paced, with shifting alliances and a lot of emotions.
Looking forward to the next book, especially with the prophet that Terian gave Allie at the end. (My thoughts on Terian keep switching, things especially after this book)
I need to know what happens next to Allie and Revik, and the rest of their family, friends, and allies. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
The war with the Dreng continues! Revik and Alyson continue the on going struggle with their relationship while trying to save as many Listers as possible! Secrets, lies and changing loyalties will give you whip lash in this incredibly written story! I loved it even when I teares my heart out or leaves me breathless. WARNING - hazardous to your health! You will lose sleep and become totally addicted!!!
This is the book I was waiting for. I started this series earlier in the year, back in February. I figured by the time I caught up the newest book would be out without any delay. I did have to wait a little bit, but hey not nearly as long as with many books and Prophet did not disappoint. I think it was a small torture to me reading it per episode every 2 weeks instead of one marathon session, I’m greedy that way. However, it did draw it out more and I was not disappointed in the least. There is so much going on in this series you just have to hold on tight and enjoy the ride; new twists and turns, new characters, new issues, and new love.
Allie is coming more into her Bridge self and trying to come to terms with her husband, Revik, and the increase in his already heightened protectiveness and irrational senses when it comes to his wife. He is dealing with the after effects of losing her and having her back again. Let’s face it Revik has always been a little insecure about this whole relationship for one reason or another and neither of them have really had a single chance to just take a break and gain their footing without one disaster or another happening so it’s understandable. They have so much on their plate and things have never been easy for them, but that’s why we love them, despite it all.
Okay so from here on in there are going to be spoilers so be warned. I love them to death but I swear I want to hit them both upside the head and say just communicate. Or better yet lock them both in that tank and take away all their toys and tell them they can’t come out until they worked through their issues. Okay maybe being the two leaders that isn’t a reasonable thing in the middle of the whole end of the earth deal but still. They are horrible about not telling one another the truth or the whole truth to spare the other which every time leads to a huge mess like the whole issue with his ex lover. Yeah you can’t have that come up and not tell her the truth, he knows how she gets insecure about his vast past feeling she isn’t enough for him. Just like she knows how he gets about her ex’s. Still we love to see them go through everything and come out on the other side.
Then Terrian, or one of his many selves, I honestly couldn’t name them all, starts to get involved in their bond. I never know how to feel about him. Sometimes I hate him with the fire of a thousand suns for the shit he’s pulled and the way he’s hurt characters I love. Then other times I just feel sorry for him because he seems so…confused/challenged that he’s almost innocent. The way this character is written, that you can wish for a characters death with so much force and also not want them dead on the same note is a real gift. Plus to give each different Terrian a different personality takes skill.
We move forward even more in taking steps in this battle and trying to figure out the best solution for everyone that we care about. There is a lot of action, with missions, attacks, and just fighting amongst themselves. That blends with all the drama and steamy times, because you have to make each day count right, that our long list of characters can come up with while trying to save the world. Or at least as many people as they can. I’m a huge fan of the series and can’t wait for more.
Prophet: Allie's War Episodes 32-36 by J.C. Andrijeski. 4 out of 5 stars. Allie and Revik are in a race against time to find and save the remaining humans and seers on the displacement lists, lists that have been drawn up to denote which people get to come through the upcoming apocalypse alive and start trying to rebuild a brave new world together. But it's not easy. Someone else seems to have a copy of the lists and is also going around picking them up too. They eventually trace this unknown person to Dubai, and plan a rescue mission for the 'Listers,' Terian, and Feigran. If you think that's an unlikely combination, then there is more to it than that! This is a very complex story that weaves itself around the hold that the Dreng has on them all, it's side-plots keep you guessing until the very end and a few of them were not expected at all. I recommend this book to everyone interested in Fantasy, Paranormal, Romance, and Mythological Figures.
This is another great rewrite of Allie's War, the clarification and depth come through right from the first chapter. Allie & Revik have to make some extreme decisions and the blow back is almost untenable. They get thru it but in the end was it all worth it. Each book just keeps getting better and I really am looking forward to the next.
