Lethal Distraction

Rate this book
Zoe Wisnewski would do just about anything to become an investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune, even if that meant riffling through the trash cans of the current investigative reporters, looking for any discarded leads. Little did she realize that following up on one particular discard would not only drop her in the middle of a murder investigation, but also put her smack dab in the crosshairs of an assassin’s gun.
Will her burgeoning relationship with Sergeant Tom O’Reilly, her assigned protector, guide her to success as a reporter? Or will their attraction prove to be a lethal distraction?

Zoe is just awesome, seriously awesome, cute, funny with a brilliant mind and a shoe collection to die for or in Tom's case boggle the mind...lol

Tom O'Reilly the last O'Reilly to get his own story it's been a loooooooooong wait for die hard Terri Reid fans such as myself but it was really worth the wait and even if it was a short story it was a freaking awesome first story, I just loved it so much action, chemistry and wow all rolled into so few pages I seriously can't wait for more.

Zoe is a perfect addition to the O'Reilly clan and I can't wait until Tom takes her home :-)

Love it!!!

Terri has another hit on her hands here. I hope this is just the beginning of Tom’s and Zoe’s adventure. They have great chemistry together. Zoe is the perfect combination of book smarts but real life naiveness. I found laughing and I hanging on to the edge of my seat to with the suspense of will they get caught. Tom has the protectiveness and gentleman’s personality of the O’Rileys I look forward to more of their adventures. Highly recommend this book.

Leave it to Terri Reid to give us this this adorable character to match wits with Mary O'Reilly's brother Tom! Zoe is such a refreshing character, smart and funny with just enough naivety. And paired with Tom O'Reilly...Oh my!
I can't wait to read more of their adventures!

Quick, easy read at around 120 pages. Another glimpse into the O'Reilly family that you get to know in several of Reid's series and for some reason, I will read any of them. I love that the female lead Zoe is described as "cute." Short, curvy, frizzy hair...normal. Especially with the idea of her catching the eye of another strong O'Reilly man. But, not just that. All of the stories that she writes about this family is entertaining and page turning. It's a family I feel like I know...and characters I love to learn more about. Glad to have found this and look forward to more.

The story might just be too hot for her

Loved it, although proofing needed a bit of work (it should have been Babcia not Babci). How can she get out of writing obituaries and into real journalism? By finding a lead. Okay it had been thrown in the trash but it did lead her to a dead body. Hitman, murder, police protection and a sweet romance are woven into a great little read. Nice tight plot and likeable characters. Hope there are more stories to follow the pair on future adventures.

Another Book I Couldn't Put Down

I constantly search for new books from Terri and the only disappointment is that she can't write faster. Seriously, just keep them coming! I reread the O'Reilly series and now I'm rereading the others. Thank God the baby finally came! I really enjoyed this book about one of the O'REILLY brothers; Ian is another favorite character. Since my husband d died, I read a lot!!

Terri and the O’Reillys do it again

Zoe meets Tom O’Reilly when she stumbles onto a murder while trying to advance her dead end journalism career out of writing Obituaries. I hope there will be more from these two as I would love to hear a story in Tom’s POV. Great introduction to a new story line.

Love TR books

I love the humor woven into Terri Reid's books. This is a fun quick read and continues with familiar characters from the O'Reilly paranormal series although this book is not a paranormal storyline.

Finally Tom!

Another great story about one of the O'Reilly bunch. I miss the paranormal aspect like in all the other books. This was still a great read. Who knows, maybe it will happen with future stories.

Short and sweet.

A great story, but unfortunately no paranormal activity. It was fun to read, but not unusual enough for me to look for a next in the series, even though I would probably read it just because Terri Reid wrote it.

This story is about Tom O'Reilly, Mary's brother and one of the twins. It's a short story, but very well done. Tom is the police officer assigned to guard the reporter who saw the murderer leave the scene of the crime. They literally ran into each other, so he's seen her too. She's been writing obituaries, but is determined to get a juicy story. She finds a tip about a possible lead in the garbage can of one of the reporters at the paper and follows up on it.

Now she has to get someone to believe her. Tom is used to believing the unbelievable and he decides to guard her as well as help her investigate. Great story.
