The Fierce Five #1

Fierce: Brody

Rate this book
Five siblings. One business. Meddling parents. Fiercely addicting series.

Brody Fierce never wanted to be the oldest of the Fierce Five, but someone had to be. Strong, loud, capable, and outspoken…that was him. He carried the weight well on his shoulders...until he didn’t. Until a lapse in judgment almost cost him and his family everything they’d worked so hard for.

Aimee Reed never wanted to follow in her mother’s footsteps. But never wanting something and having it happen just the same seemed to be the story of her life. With the help of a friend of a friend, she lands a job at Fierce, praying that something good might happen in her life for once—until she meets her new boss and realizes he is everything she said she never wanted, but always ended up with.

“Fight for you. Don’t wait on someone to fight for you.”

- Who is the Hero? Brody Fierce, Age: 30, Occupation: Manages the family bar
~ Brody is the oldest of quintuplets.
~ “The Fierce Five, as they were referred to in everything Aimee had read, were a cocky group of five siblings running the show in downtown Charlotte. They didn’t just set the bar for their competitors, they blew it up with dynamite.”

Brody feels he is the leader of the siblings, but thanks to a recent friendship that turned bad, he’s feeling guilty and questioning his role in the family.
~ “You haven’t been the same for a good year now and you know it. The last six months, you’ve been downright ornery. More than normal.”

- Who is the Heroine? Aimee Reed, Age: 26, Occupation: Bar Manager
~ Aimee has moved back home to be near her dad. She has a two year old daughter, Sidney. Aimee suffers from the “everyone always leaves me” syndrome, so she struggles forming lasting relationships.

Plot overview:
~ The Fierce quintuplets own one of the hottest spots in Charlotte. Brody manages the bar, and while he was away for a few days the family hired Aimee as the day manager.
Actually, the hiring was orchestrated by his mother who is trying to meddle in his life and help him find the right girl.
~ “They’re surviving just fine. But I want grandkids now.”
He knew it! “So you admit you set him up.” “Maybe.”
He pulled his wife in for a hug. “There is no maybe about it when you get an idea in your head. Let’s just hope this doesn’t backfire on you and some innocent girl gets caught in the crossfire.”
“It won’t. Trust me. I know my kids and I know what’s best for them, whether they want to admit it or not.”

Brody and Aimee had a tiny bit of a rocky start, but Brody quickly realized how helpful Aimee was and they worked well together.

** The following are my thoughts about this book: **
* * their first kiss came out of nowhere. There were no indications of strong attraction, so I missed the chemistry and buildup associated with the first kiss

* * I liked the relationship between the quintuplets. It was a little unbelievable that each had a specialty that magically fit into the family business

* * relationship building was a bit lacking. Example - when they went to the zoo, there was no description of the date, at all. Did I need to live through every moment at the zoo? No. But, did I need to experience some of that date in order to feel a deeper connection between Aimee and Brody? Yes. This happened several different times where I felt I was short changed on the relationship building - and therefore, missed that deeper connection.

* * I understand that parents might want to talk to their kids before making a decision to move in with someone. But Aimee’s daughter was two. C’mon! You’re going to consult with your two year old before committing to your man??? 🙄

* * Aimee annoyed me. I liked her in the beginning, but her insecurities and how “alone” she was got really old. Brody kept showing he was there for her and she would always end up back in the same place - pushing him away. Even after they professed they were falling in love, she accused him of acting selfishly when all he was trying to do was resolve a situation that was stressing her out. Ugh - she was frustrating. ☹️
~ “No one ever fought for her. No one ever stayed. She knew Brody would drop her soon enough, so it was best to turn away now.” 😡

~ “We’ve both said we’re sorry. We both feel like crap. So now what?” he asked. “I feel like it’s a never-ending cycle with us. When are we going to be able to not have this problem?”

^ ^ My thoughts exactly!!!!

* * the harping on about how Brody needed to change and quit acting selfishly also irritated me. I honestly didn’t get that and didn’t see where he was being selfish

* * in addition to Aimee’s wishy washy decisions, Aimee’s ex (her daughter’s father) also adds drama to the story. But, he wanted nothing to do with his daughter so this element felt forced - just for the sake of extra drama.

**Overview:**
- Content Warning: nothing major
- Setting: Charlotte
- Do you need to read previous books in series?: N/A. This is book one of the series
- POV: Dual POV
- Tropes: boss/co-worker, single mother

- heroine likeable? Aimee started to irritate me with her indecisivenesses
- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 19%
- First time they sleep together: 37%
- Safe sex? Yes. Condoms were used
- First time they say I Love You at 86% they indicate they are “falling” in love. At 99% is when they finally say the three little words
- steamy? Yes. Descriptive bedroom scenes
- Chemistry? I thought something was lacking
- OW/OM drama? A little bit with Aimee’s ex fling
- H/h cheat? No
- Time apart? Nothing significant
- Did I skip pages? I started skimming a little because I was so frustrated with Aimee
- Big secrets? the reason for Brody’s insecurities was hinted at in the beginning of the book. He finally revealed his backstory around 73%
- Did I cry? No
- Did I laugh? No
- Did I swoon🥰? I liked how Brody fought for the relationship. That made him kind of swoony
- Cliffhanger? No
- HEA? Yes
- Epilogue? there is no forward looking epilogue

Quotes:
“Maybe now whatever bug has been up his butt can find a new cave to live in.”

“Do you know how hard it is for a guy to win over a woman who has a child? It’s not just one person he has to win over, it’s two.”

“Once you’ve got self-doubt it’s hard to get past it.”

This is really a 1 star book, but the author probably worked hard on it. It was well written and wasn't full of typos. I feel like if I give a low rating I need to give an explanation why.
The plot was so forced it made it unbelievable. The relationship between the siblings was the only believable thing in the book until they all became sunshine and unicorn farts at the end. I can't even remember the name of the main girl she was so forgettable.... anyways the female MC can't make a decision to save her life. Brody is a dumbass who keeps tripping over his own ego and has basically had the world handed to him his entire life. The concept that he turns into this loving husband and father type, essentially overnight, to convince what's her face to give him a chance is absurd. No egomaniac does that. Sorry doesn't happen, not for any girl and definitely not for the Menu Savant. It was just stupid.
Then there's the meddling know it all mother who has a serious screw loose.
Also, I found it super disturbing that a mother would knowingly expose her sons genitals and laugh it off. If a dad ripped the sheets off his adult daughter's naked body, people would be in hysterics. It was effing gross! Brody was humiliated in the book, it was clearly wrong. I'm not sure why the author would include a scene like this. I'm not sure if she thinks it's cute or funny but it's messed up.
The neatly tied up distraction of girly whirl's baby daddy was boring and anti-climactic but it got us to our HEA, and the end, thank God.
None of the characters were particularly likeable. They weren't bad boys with hearts of gold etc. they were just shitbirds with bad attitudes. Spoiled entitled selfish kids with a meddling overbearing mom.

Brody Fierce is the oldest (by 30 minutes) of the quintuplets born to Gavin and Jolene Fierce, they are known as the fierce 5. I like the family values this books shows. I also like the unity if the quints. The family runs there own business each sibling has there own part of the whole.
Brody feels he is the leader, loud, strong, and tuns the bar. Cade is the idea man, lawyer, jack-of-all-trades, and closest to and most trusted by Brody. Aiden is a master Chef and runs the kitchen, he is closest to Mason. Mason is the scientist and makes all the different beer flavors for the bar. Ella is the only girl, she does the books, runs premuvh everything and is loved by all her brothers.
There is nothing these siblings wouldn't do for each other, they are a team and better together then they ever would be apart.
Jolene (mom) has decided she wants grandchildren. Aimee gets the manager job for Brody's bar, now he doesn't know yet. Brody and Cade got into a fight over the Craig thing and were both sent for a time out, yes 30 years old and mom gave them both a time out for a few days. When Brody comes back he's not happy, but he knows better than go against mom. He meets and starts to train Aimee, then things start to get interesting.
This book has steamy sex scenes. Likeable characters. All the siblings have there own unique personalities. I liked that Brody and Aimee had to work on themselves to come together, it wasn't a one-sided thing. The book was well written with a free flowing story.

2.75stars just ok!

Potential: astronomical!!
Outcome: disappointing
This story has all the right components. Large family, good story plot, good secondary characters. Potential to be a great book with many more books to follow with siblings story. Sadly Aimee and her character ruined the book. Brody wasn't as self confident and "alpha" as I'd like. I like good strong men and strong females and a good story. This wasn't it!

Fierce - Brody (The Fierce Five Series Book 1)

Quintuplets, Brody, Aiden, Mason, Cade & Ella Fierce work for their family businesses. The parents, Gavin & Jolene, started a bar, restaurant, and brewery company in Charlotte. Once their children turned completed college at age 25, mom & dad turned the companies day-to-day operations over to them and happily retired. This is Brody and Aimee's story.

Oh my goodness!!! I knew I was going to love this series when I first saw it but I waited until all of the siblings books were out to where I wouldn't be waiting for months. LOL! I absolutely fell in love with Brody and he was so swoon worthy when he met Aimee's daughter Sidney. Literally my favorite part of the book was when he met Sidney. This is my favorite passage and doesn't reveal any spoilers.

"Brody looked at her, then down at the doll, taking it in his hands and holding it out like it was going to explode. It was kind of adorable. “It won’t spit up or pee on you,” she said. “Good thing,” he said, trying to keep his deep voice low. For Sidney’s sake? Wasn’t that just sweet. Finally, Brody took the doll’s tiny hand in his, shook it, and said, “I’m Brody. Nice to meet you. I like your dress.” Aww, Aimee’s heart melted. Look at that. The man who flirted with every woman that came into the bar was carrying on a conversation with her daughter's doll. She didn't see that coming."

I mean literally who wouldn't fall in love with Brody after that. I also love how realistic the book is and that Brody & Aimee take their time getting to know each other, that we hear their back story, that Natalie allowed time for Sidney to want to be around Brody, that they don't rush into living together, rush into saying I love you, etc. It literally was the PERFECT story. If I hadn't already bought it and was just reading thru KU, I would immediately be buying.

I can't wait for all of the other siblings and literally know what I'll be doing right after work. Starting Aiden's story! If they are all like Brody's story, I'm going to be in heaven.

Disappointed with this one. This is the first book I've read by this Arthur and I'm not sure I'll go for a 2nd.
This had a lot of potential but for me both Aimee and Brody ruined it, mostly Aimee. They both had a lot of back and forth and just couldn't seem to make up their minds but by 60-70% through the book I was beyond tired of it. Either move forward or give up already! I was ready to throw down the Kindle at this point but managed to tough it out. Unfortunately by the time she finally decided (or did she really, seems she was still unsure at the end to me) I was way over it and didn't really care anymore if they worked it out or not.

Brody had this whole nobody trusts me and nobody needs me anymore thing going on that bordered on whiny to me and was annoying.

Oh! And the whole sending your 30 year old sons to timeout and mom walking into his bedroom and ripping off his covers like hes 10...WTF?! That was just strange and weird and totally did not work for me.

I was mildly interested in the other characters but I honestly don't think I care enough to pick up book 2.

The book was okay but Aimee began to get on my nerves after a while with the "I'm not good enough" thing. I mean the man was showing her interest and the more he showed, the more she pulled back and then changed her mind again. I felt like I was at a tennis matching watching her thoughts volley back and forth. Brody was better although he really needed to get over himself and the "mistake" that he made. Seriously, not harm no foul, dude, so move on! I guess, to me, the two main characters came across as a little weak. I am hoping that the other 4 siblings will have more of a backbone because I do intend to give the series another shot. Oh, and I have to give kudos to the author because the editing was so so so much better than the last dozen or so books I have read! I am so thankful that there were no blinding typos, name mix-ups, etc. It says a lot when an author cares enough to give a good, clean copy to their readers to enjoy.

A great start to a new series written by one of my favorite happily ever after authors. With four brothers, one sister, a single mother, an adorable two-year old, and a matchmaking mother who has decided it is time for her quints to get married and give her grandchildren, I can predict at least five books I am going to enjoy.

Well crafted, with likeable characters (eventually), Natalie Ann has started a new series about the Fierce siblings. With three other series, one thing I really like is the books are all standalone books, but the reader gets to visit the characters from the first in the series. I don't know for sure, but I'm confident I haven't seen the end of the matchmaking mother.

Enjoyable read, I appreciate being allowed a copy of the ARC and offer my opinions for others freely.

>Book Review – Fierce – Brody
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Fierce Five series and ends in an HEA. Brody is one of a set of quintuplets that all run a business together. He made a shady friend that almost cost him the business’ reputation. He feels that he did lose the confidence of his siblings. Brody’s mother is like the female godfather. She likes to control her children without them knowing. In Brody’s case, she forces him to hire a new bartender/ day manager, Aimee. Aimee is a single mom, struggling to make it. She has great ideas and is a hard worker, sometimes causing Brody to be jealous of her.
>Aimee made some mistakes in her past, but after only a few days working for Brody, she jeopardizes all she has to make out with him. I didn’t feel her actions were really in character. They keep their relationship a secret, at first. Brody and Aimee are trying to get past their individual hang ups, constantly misunderstanding one another and apologizing. The push and pull of their relationship is a bit tiring.
>I love the interactions between Brody and Aimee’s daughter, Sydney. He doesn’t know how to relate to 2 year olds, and his attempts to talk to her and win her over are heart-warming. The story is all about trust and forgiveness, with both Brody and Aimee doing both. The scenes with the 5 siblings and how they relate are fun. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 4 stars.

4 All Five Feet of Her Stars

Brody is the first of The Fierce Five Series, in both title of book and name of main character.

The oldest out of a set quintuplets, holding himself as the leader and one responsible for all. Brody’s opinion of himself and competence took a dive, after an almost fatal mistake in his past. He knows his siblings still see it when they look at him, and he feels it in himself even more so. Enter Aimee. Mother of two-year-old Sidney, long time bartender, just moved back home to live with her recently injured-on-the-job stepfather Rick.

I loved the flow of this story, it wasn’t fast and drama filled or slow-burn either. It felt perfect in syntax, and structure. There were surely parts where the MCs annoyed me to no end with their actions, but the almost cringe-worthy emotional dialogue and mixed signals made the interactions between our love birds more natural and realistic. They didn’t insta-love or follow the traditional arc of most rom-coms either. Natalie Ann built their path beautifully, and the effortless parallelism to actual realistic relationships, made me dive into the story and anchor in to watch the magic happen.

THis is the first book the Fierce Five Series. It revolves around a set of quintuplets.

When they turned 25 their parents gave them their restaurant and bar and retired. Each of the siblings takes care of a specific part of the business. Brody the "oldest" runs the bar. Aiden is a chef and runs the restaurant. Mason runs the brewery. Cade takes care of marketing and branding. Ella takes care of everything else.

The first book is about Brody and his new bar manager, Aimee. Brody has been in a funk for the part year after someone he knew betrayed him. Until Aimee comes into his life. She was hired without his knowledge but she's amazing and she has a cute 2 year old daughter that depends on her.

It was a great single-parent romance that was written from both MCs points of view. Both of them have problems trusting that they need to work through together and their chemistry is off the charts. Their are also a few scenes with a meddlesome mother.

I can't wait to read the next story in the series.

Meh

This started out well. I liked the premise and the characters initially. But as I continued, Aimee and Brody started to get on my nerves. Aimee especially with her waffling. Her emotions were too back and forth with what she wanted. I almost didn’t finish this because she annoyed me that much. Throw in a sleazy ex who really doesn’t move the story along because he’s not really a threat and an “embarrassing” mistake Brody made but really wasn’t his fault (and really, the family all made the same one so why he feels he’s to blame is beyond me), and you have something that starts well but then sort of falls flat on its face. Also, don’t know why it was called an epilogue since it was a continuation of what just happened. I like when they’re at least a small look into the future. Just not the series for me.

The first in a series about the love lives of the Fierce quintuplets, each of whom run a different sector of their parents business. Brody has had a knock to his confidence but when he meets the new hiring in his bar, he doesn’t let his past misjudgment stop him from getting to know her better. Aimee on the other hand is more protective of her heart. I enjoyed all the characters, particularly the matriarch of the Fierce family, Jolene and the relationship between Brody and two year old Sidney. I look forward to reading more by this author.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

This book is the beginning of the Fierce series. Based on this book, I'm interested in reading the others. This story is about Brody, the oldest of a quint set of kids ( 4 boys and 1 girl). We meet Brody, who has been sent on a "timeout" for fighting with one of his brothers (who was also sent on a timeout) by a mother who is a force to be reckoned with. I found the family interactions reminded me of my family as we were growing up.

Aimee was hired as the bar manager while Brody was on his timeout. This is interesting since Brody is controlling. As they learn to deal with each other, we find that there is more going on behind the scenes.

This was a nice change of pace read for me. There were adult scenes, but no violence. There is language though.

Family dynamics with some undercover match making, this is sure to win your heart.

Quadruplets - Brody, Aiden, Mason, Cade and last the sister Ella. They take over the bar/restaurant business from their parents to each contribute as a team. Parents decide o become math makers...gotta love it. Love that these kids/adults respect their parents - who wouldn't call in love with this family. Tough subject - family dynamics trust and respect, single mom, ex, betrayal and being vulnerable and trusting in love. Violence 2, sex2

Fierce - Brody

This is the first in this series. Brody was first born of five. Quints that have always been close. But even though they are close there can be disagreements. Mom has an iron hand on all of them. With four boys and a girl all reaching thirty and still no significant other insight mom takes charge. Amiee is the bar's newest hire. Against Body's judgement. Sparks fly. What happens when she is in need of help? Will he let anyone come near her or her daughter? Each is a standalone book but interconnected characters.

I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book. Ok, wow. I really enjoyed this story. Brody and Aimee. His brothers and sister hire Aimee while Brody is isolated on the Outer Banks. Brody is resentful, but feels an immediate attraction. Can he convince independent Aimee that they could be good together? You will really enjoy reading this book to find out. Can't wait to see what happens with the next Fierce!

A cute story about quins

Five babies born at once grew up together. As a team they functioned well. Four went to colleague. One stayed home to learn to run the family bar. When their parents retired leaving the five in charge their parents kept watch. Their diminutive mother was not above matchmaking. The parents took delight in watching the first one take the bait. Before he knew what hit him, he was married with the bonus of her two-year old daughter.

I'm going to give this story 4 stars even though it barely made it there. The writing style flows and the editing is clean, and there is lots of spice and some emotion even comes out in the open. But, and this is a big 'But', there is something wrong with a story when you feel you've reached the end before the halfway point. After that, the plot felt forced and was only saved by the author's smooth writing skills.

Great read. This book had the perfect combination of emotional turmoil and steamy romance. The story moved at a good pace but the best part was the depth of the characters. Even supporting characters had depth but it was written in a concise and interesting way. I liked that the reader didn’t learn about the main character’s backstory until the characters shared it. It was twisty, yet believable. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I loved this book from the get go; I’d been in a book funk with one DNF after another and this was a welcome winner.

Loved the entire family dynamic and being the foodie and beer lover I am the family business was enjoyable.

H was grumpy from the get go but I really connected with him, although I got where the h was coming from I was getting a little annoyed with her at times. Had a good flow, interesting storyline without dragging the “secret” out; all in all great read.

Talk about family drama

This one is for the books. Normally you will read about twins, maybe once in a while triplets, but quintuplets, that is where the reading gets good. The Fierce five family, is rough and tough together, but one little tiff, and the game is on. The love of a young single mom and her adorable two year old, has the oldest of the five (Brody), in for the long haul. Also kuddos to Fierce Mom and dad of the Fierce five.

I was so excited when I saw this book on the Kindle Scout program and have been waiting for it to come out. Now I can't wait for Aiden's story next! Brody and Aimee are both tough cookies with jaded ideas of love, but watching them come together mixed in with Brody's meddling family made for a fast entertaining read.

This is my favorite cover of Natalie Ann's books and I was dying to read it. It was fast paced and exciting with lots of humor. Aimee's daughter was adorable and I love how she had Brody wrapped around her little finger. Jolene Fierce is the best mother going. She's a riot and knows exactly what her kids need, even if they have no clue what she is doing behind their back.

Hot stuff

Brody is a man who has trust issues and doesnt know how to express his feelings. Aimee is a woman with some problems with showing her feelings too. The Fierce siblings and their parents are amazing. This was a really good story that took me on the perfect journey. Cannot wait to read the next of the series.

Where was the ending

I read this book thinking through each chapter there would be more. It was full of words and descriptions that told a story but nothing of any interest. I was disappointed in the end. I felt cheated because Brody And Aimee just said ok to getting married and this was it. There was no real love story at all.

Great Surprise

I got this book, because I looking for something to read. At first, I wasn't expecting much from a free book on Amazon. After I read it, it change my mind. It had family, humor, and romance. Maybe little matchmaking. If you are looking for a good, then pick this one. I can't wait for the next book.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked the dynamic that Brody has with his family and I like how Aimee fits in well. Not only did she fit in well at the bar and with the atmosphere, but also with Brody. Also her daughter is adorable. I felt that the book moved very fast and you can notice. That was my only complaint, but I will definitely give the other books in this series a try.
