Kadirra is a woman with fierce loyalties and an immense capacity to love.
I first downloaded a sample of this novel and reading the sample I was hooked! I had to have more. The storyline was refreshingly new and thought provoking, especially in our current political climate. The characters are fully formed with dynamic personalities that you can readily identify with. A thoroughly enjoyable book that captures the heart as well as the imagination from the first page to the heart stopping suspenseful ending.

Exciting Debut Novel
Black Sun Ascending is author Ray Sunn's debut novel, which is exciting. She tackles heavy world building, magic, and diverse characters in Twin Spark. Oh, and a great paranormal romance that doesn't go according to any script. Kadirra and Dare are great characters, with emotional layers and complexity which helped propel a fast-paced story forward. There's a lot going on in Sunn's novel, so a reader needs to pay attention to her details and the intersecting subplots so as to not miss the larger picture. The ending will have you wanting to read the next story in the series. I turned the page on my Kindle and was disappointed to see the book had come to an end. I hope Sunn has plans on releasing book two very soon. I need to know what happens to Kadirra and how Dare will reconnect with his twin spark. A strong start to what I'm sure will be a wonderful PNR series.

What if the world we live in is not what we were taught in school to be? I was the rebel in school who asked too many questions about the world we live in as the hard sciences we're taught didn't mesh with my paranormal experiences I had as a child to an adult now. Then I when learned about quantum physics, that was when science and magic melded together for me.
Although this story is listed as a paranormal romance and a reviewer said that this book doesn't go according to any script of a paranormal romance, it's because it's not typical. It's a blend of my love of science fiction, action adventure thriller, and paranormal romance. This book delves into heavy hitting topics which involves racism or some folks would call it "specieism" (there are other groups of beings other than humans that live on this Earth plane),sex, spirituality, twin flames, quantum physics, hidden knowledge, ancient advanced technologies, ancient magical arts, siddhis or superhuman abilities (ESP, bilocation, telekinesis, etc), and origins of the human race.
While the characters and storyline itself are fictional, for the most part, the topics discussed in this story is real. Currently, someone created a quantum computer called the D-Wave so these individuals can hop dimensions to mine for resources. That sounds like the movie "Avatar" and colonialism to me. There's a portion of the book that I mentioned about the biblical giant found in Afghanistan and was taken into a secret military base for further studies. This tidbit was from an article I found through research. I'll leave it up to you to decide what is real and what is fiction. There's a cliche saying, "truth is stranger than fiction."
