Cars really can spontaneously combust.

Inspirational autobiography of Judy Leden from her early "what the hell do I do with my life" to her head-bangingly dangerous early hang-gliding and on through her various world championships, relationships and promotional stunts. Lots of fun all round, and pretty much the only book of its type in paragliding / hangliding where nearly all the literature is instructional or coffee table. Well worth a read even if you aren't into free flight, Judy is good company.

Picked up this book by chance as I love biographies, it's a must-read book. The author describes beautifully the events leading up and including her experience of gliding both hang-gliding and paragliding. It gives an insight into what it takes to be a world champion. The account of her flying with the condors in Patagonia is truly amazing, the trials and tribulations leading up to her flight. I read the book over a couple of evenings and struggled to put it down.
