In the middle of an alien invasion, a bad boy berserker collides with a spunky mechanic on a dangerous sabotage mission.
Levi King has always lived rough. Raised by a biker dad, he fought for everything he had—including being president of the Iron Kings motorcycle club. But when the aliens invaded, he lost it all. Now he wades through the muck with his fellow berserkers, fighting to protect the last of the human survivors. He fights hard and parties harder, and follows no one’s rules but his own. But then he finds himself fascinated by a mouthy, auburn-haired mechanic who isn’t afraid to give him a piece of her mind.
Chrissy Hagan survived months of alien captivity and now she’s found a purpose at the Enclave—as mechanic in charge of the armored Hunter vehicles. She keeps her babies purring…and hates every scratch the soldiers put on them, especially when a certain arrogant, cocky, and annoying biker is responsible. Did she mention annoying? What about tattooed, man-bunned, and far too sexy? Chrissy and Levi do more than strike sparks of each other…they start full blown infernos, and she isn’t afraid to use her wrench on his hard head when required.
But then a vital mission requires Chrissy to step out of the safety of the Enclave, and sabotage and steal an alien vehicle. Working side by side, desire burns white-hot. Levi discovers he will give everything he’s got to keep Chrissy safe and claim her as his…if they both get through the deadly mission alive.
Note to readers: This sci fi romance contains a lot of action (dangerous missions and deadly aliens), tough warriors (the badass berserkers of Squad Three) and a steamy romance (lots of sexy times between a sexy former biker and a spunky mechanic). So if you like it fast, and gritty, and sexy, this is for you!

When all seems lost and the Gazzidas (reptilian aliens) seem to have the upper hand, that's when you call on Squad 3, aka the Berserkers Squad, to save the day. They're big, they're bad, and they're not afraid to blows things up or get down and dirty in the ongoing fight to save Earth and the Enclave population.
Mechanic Chrissy Hagen is a mechanical genius when it comes to keeping the Enclave's vehicles in tip top running condition. A feat that is challenged each and every time Levi King and his squad go out on a mission as it usually means one of her babies comes back broken or disabled. Such is the case today when reports indicate one of the "Hunter" vehicles had a major malfunction though it was able to return. It's now her mission to figure out what went wrong and fix the Hunter as each and every vehicle is priceless and losing even one would be a blow.
Levi & Chrissy are oil and water when it comes to personalities but they have one common love. That being a love of anything that has an engine, Levi with his history of building custom built bikes from his days in an MC and Chrissy who teamed up with her father to run a highly reputable auto shop.
They'll have to put their personal differences aside when a new Gazzidas threat surfaces jeopardizing any above ground remaining Australian human population.
* * *
In this the 15th installment in the Hell Squad series it's Levi & Crissy's time to shine. Levi, a former MC biker and Chrissy, a genius when it comes to autos and engines.
While I appreciate the ongoing series plot and this particular story line, I'm getting exhausted from the continual slow drip of new factoids and lack of successful answers and/or progress of the series itself. Each installment features a couple who have to overcome a series of personal and professional angst issues to reach a HEA conclusion, usually with back story baggage from their past lives. Each and every time the Gazzidas have a new and/or different evil plot to unleash on the unsuspecting humans who have banded together in the Enclave (an underground Sanctuary south of Sydney). Each and every time the author throws out open ended "possibles" that aren't answered (ex: Jussy & Charlee). 15 installments into a series titled "Hell Squad" but is now more a catch-all for all squads and factions. With no end in sight.
This was an enjoyable SciFi post Apocalyptic erotic romance story that has more action/adventure/suspense for fans who look for that in their reads. It does include intimate romantic erotic scenes that are consistent with a biker mentality, ie I am claiming you woman and putting my brand on you, to a female who isn't a push over, ie you think? maybe I'll claim you and put MY brand on YOU first. I'll include mention that this can't be read as a stand alone as the series builds off previous installments so if you haven't read early installments I would suggest not picking this one up as a cold read.
This series has just gone from strength to strength and now finally with Squad Three aka the Berserkers the author has hit the ground running ! These crazy, brave, fast living guys are all completely different and yet somehow are turning out to be probably the most passionate ( not to mention dirty !) men the author has written. Badass Levi has always fought hard for what he wants and now faced with the challenge that is the spitfire mechanic Chrissy he has no intention of walking away. It doesn't matter that the Gizzida are out there what Levi wants is to hear Chrissy scream his name ! Chrissy escaped the Gizzida once and has no intention of being taken captive again. She's determined to help her fellow resistance fighters but the arrogant, swollen headed biker boy Levi is pushing all her buttons! So what if he's sex on legs there's no way Chrissy is going to be another notch on his bedpost. Question is though can Chrissy really resist particularly when he shows his sweet side? I seldom award shorter stories with a five star but this book had everything I like in a sci fi romance. Assertive hunk who whilst not perfect certainly revved Chrissys engine ( sorry I couldn't resist! ). Plus Chrissy is a sharp, spunky heroine who I could really believe in. Add in action and danger with just enough aliens and their futuristic technology to make it interesting without being totally over the top and I can truthfully say I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I'm guessing Manu is up next but honestly how long do we have to wait for the awesome Tane and a certain magical female ? This voluntary take is of an advance copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
And...Hell Squad returns with a bang, and quite literally so. I have a soft spot for this apocalyptic world set in the smoking ruins surrounding Sydney, as unbreakable bonds are forged—mostly with hot sex—in the aftermath of an alien invasion, by people who would never have crossed paths otherwise.
Anna Hackett’s series advances the whole narrative arc slowly and ‘Levi’—the 15th book in the series—takes a tiny step further in unveiling new developments in this ruined world: the Gizzida strengthen their hold on earth with their strange technology as the humans fight back slowly but surely. There isn’t much of a huge leap forward here, or a turning point that throws the entire series into a spin, except for the creation of a situation that is tailored to push Levi King and Chrissy Hagen together. The ride is as always, nonetheless, an action-packed and fun one, as are the hints of the couples to come in the next few HS books.
Like most series I read however, there’ll always be characters I like more than others and unfortunately, Levi King wasn’t one of them. Simply put, I’m way too sceptical about over-the-top bad-boys and Levi, with his manwhoring, presumptuous ways didn’t really win me over. That he suddenly sought something committed with Chrissy only because she challenged him still left me wondering about his staying power (blame the daddy-issues here), apart from the possessive vibe he often emitted.
But Chrissy...be still my heart. Hackett, wrote a champion with the marvellous, tough, sassy Chrissy, who was more than a match for Levi, in her stubbornness and refusal to give an inch to his crude pursuit. I loved her grit and her strength, cheered her in every way and was almost sorry when she finally gave into Levi.
That said, Hackett’s HS books are always an easy read; too many of her books in this series feel as though they end too quickly—but ‘Levi’ seemed the perfect length this time around, which definitely made it more satisfying than usual.
Not going to rate this because I DNF’ed at 72%. I saw where it was going and it just wasn’t holding my interest. Maybe I’m just not in the mood, who knows?
Series: Hell Squad #15 Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
After spending months in alien captivity, Chrissy Hagen has found her purpose at the Enclave as the mechanic for the Hunter vehicles. She keeps them in top shape and hates when any damage is done, especially when it's an annoying and pushy Berserker. Levi King fights hard and parties harder. He follows no rules but his own. When he finds himself attracted to the sassy Hunter mechanic he can’t help but push her buttons until she gives in.
“I really like that you’re alive. I like the way you look, the way you smell, the way you throw sass at me.”
I am loving these Berserker books! Levi is an arrogant, cocky, and badass biker but he never got on my nerves. He is used to getting what he wants and watching Chrissy deny him was great. He needed someone who would push his buttons and challenge him, and Chrissy is that. Levi is the ultimate bad boy who is hiding his sweet side. I loved Chrissy. She was smart, sassy, and a kickass mechanic. She doesn’t take anyone's shit, especially Levi’s.
“We’re alive. I need you to remember that shit happens, will always happen, but we keep getting back up, and life goes on.”
Both Chrissy and Levi had past traumas that made it hard for them to trust relationships. Levi grew up in a biker club and had an abusive father. Chrissy was raised by a single father who wanted sons, not daughters, and she feels she will never live up to expectations. They both make mistakes but they work through it in the end. I just loved these two.
This was another action packed adventure with the aliens throwing more curveballs at the humans. We have a new alien base, possibly a new weapon, and new alien creatures. Throw in the steamy romance between Levi and Chrissy and this book was the perfect blend of action and romance. I cannot get enough of this series and while I can’t wait to see the end of the aliens but I will also be sad about it.
Trigger warnings: imprisonment; human experimentation; abusive father mentioned; death of mother in childbirth mentioned;
Hell Squad is back and packed with everything that makes this series the action-packed, sexy ride that it always is – a bad boy hero, a kick ass heroine, aliens, action, explosions and sex. It’s quick, it’s fun and really, what else do you need?
Well… okay, if I’m honest, Levi didn’t really endear himself to me at the beginning. He’s rough and tough and a bad boy biker and so on and so forth, which mostly translates into pushy jerk with manwhore tendencies and an inability to keep his mouth shut, despite Chrissy asking him not to talk about what they got up to. He does improve as the book progresses, but it’s hard to fathom quite how he turns from the guy who sleeps with anyone at the beginning to the deeply in love with Chrissy alone at the end. There’s no progression, it just happens… because ROMANCE!
I liked Chrissy, because she’s competent and takes none of Levi’s nonsense. She’s also brave and has really been through some stuff, yet come out pretty much whole. Despite that, I never really connected too deeply with her, but then I found this book more of an easy read than an absorbing one. I think, perhaps, after so many books now it’s difficult for me to believe anything terrible is going to happen – well, beyond the whole alien invasion. Even when their mission has basically zero planning, I never felt like they were going to fail. I just knew something improbable and unlikely would occur and whoop!
Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoyed the ride, but where this series used to be a little gritty and a lot gripping, these days it’s all huge explosions, hot sex and unlikely missions, with a wider plot occasionally thrown in to tie everything together. Which isn’t a bad thing, because it makes for fun, action-packed reads, but I still prefer the earlier tales when it felt like so much more was at stake.
Ok ok ok I don’t think I’ve ever said this before BUT Levi has my ovaries screaming and my senses spinning. It’s rare to be able to read a series with this amount of books in it without becoming bored, in fact I’m pretty sure I can count on my hands how many long running series I am still impatiently waiting for the next book to release. Hell Squad is up there on the hand count list, Anna’s ability to keep each book fresh, unique and a one sitting read is just one reason why I love this series so much. Those Berserker’s are another, holy Hell Squad, they just send tingles down the spine. Bad boy Levi is enough to send the body temperature climbing and Chrissy, well she’s about to learn what happens when you tempt the bad boy with a heart of gold. Never change Anna, your writing style is unique, never ever boring and a joy to read.
Levi is the 15th book in Anna Hackett's Hell Squad, and with each book it only keeps getting better. I highly recommend reading this series from the 1st book even though they are really a great read on their own it will only make you want to start from the very 1st one. Levi had it all action passion and leave you hanging on your seat moment that will steal you breathe. I just wish they finally kick the Aliens asses already but not before everyone has their story told.
This book is not a standalone. It's another entry in fast action, excellent pacing, hot love scenes, and enemy dinosauroid aliens. There are, as always, cool new monsters and weapons. Levi and Chrissy like their relationship full of conflict, and it ups the adrenaline in this book. If you liked previous entries, this has just enough new elements to keep it interesting. I was a little surprised that Chrissy didn't manifest any PTSD symptoms, given her captivity by the aliens and having to go up against them. I received a review copy.
This was okay, I think maybe I wasn't feeling some of it because I didn't read any of the others, so I wasn't really into the world or the other characters. It's not a very long book so things move pretty quickly. I liked both Levi and Chrissy though, but I wish maybe it had been a bit longer and we got a bit deeper into things or maybe I should just have read all the others and I would have been more invested.
Levi looks and acts like the biker he once was. He is a surprise and a delightful one. Now Chrissy is not as cocky as Levi but make no mistake the gal is no pushover. I loved the whole "stomp-her-feet-and-pout-in-the-corner-envious" statement. This story is full of action, excitement and joy. I loved it!
Another action packed full of sexy men and sexier time story. Most would be sizzling down by now but these keep getting better and more intense. Can't wait for Many's book
One of my favorite series on my must read list -Levi is the newest Bersherker to find his women. Chrissy the tough and sexy mechanic . Love it and glad Manu is next
OK, we’re now 15 books into the Hell Squad series. And it’s still pretty damn awesome.
This is a post-apocalyptic science fiction romance series that will even work for people who don’t generally like post-apocalyptic science fiction. Like me. In a way, the series is kind of an extended version of the first Independence Day movie. The aliens have landed, and they are determined to wipe out humanity and strip the planet. (Or absorb humanity and strip the planet, as the Gizzida definitely have some Borg-like features).
Unlike the movie, instead of the happy ending where the aliens get kicked off Earth with extreme prejudice happening relatively quickly, and before all of the planetary-wide organization has been wiped out, the Hell Squad series stretches out over a relatively long period of time. At this point in the series we’re definitely a couple of years into the mess, and the human population has been decimated, using something closer to the original meaning of the term. But instead of one person in ten being wiped out, the results of the Gizzida invasion have been more like the other way around – one person in ten has survived.
The series focuses on one group of survivors in Australia. The inhabitants of the Enclave have been taking the fight to the Gizzida, and the aliens are determined to wipe out this last bastion of resistance by any means available. And they are unfortunately very, very inventive at thinking up new ways of targeting the remaining human population.
While all of the books in this series are definitely romances, there is an overarching story about the ongoing resistance to the Gizzida as well as the neverending search for a way to kick them off our Earth. (I’m really, really looking forward to that story!)
In each story in the series, the romances have featured different people among the resistance. While the original story (Marcus) was all about the romance between one of the soldiers and the squad communications officer, as the series has unfolded the romances have featured every sort of person who would be needed to keep a place like the Enclave running.
In the case of this particular story, the romance is between Levi, one of the members of the Berserker Squad, and Chrissy, an ace mechanic in the equivalent of the motor pool. If it has an engine, Chrissy can fix it, armor it up and keep it running, no matter what.
But as a woman who has always worked in a man’s world, she’s kept her heart to herself. As someone who was once a prisoner of the Gizzida, she also highly values her freedom. That combination has meant that she keeps herself to herself, does her job, and is not impressed by the high-testosterone members of the Squads. Not until Levi breaches her defenses.
As with many books in the series, a situation arises where the noncombatant partner has to go on a mission that will put them directly in harm’s way. In this case, the Gizzida have flooded an area near their Sydney Airport base, and are obviously building something that they don’t want the humans to see. It’s up to Chrissy to help steal one of their amphibious vehicles and help drive it into the underwater compound so that the Berserkers can investigate at close quarters.
And of course the mission goes pear-shaped. Until Chrissy saves the day. And her man.
Escape Rating B+: The first third of this book, while a lot of fun, felt a lot like previous books in the series. A lot of patterns have developed over the course of the series and they are pretty easy to spot. Still fun to read, though.
Howsomever, at about ⅓ of the way in, the book suddenly grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. I have no idea why, but once I hit that point, I was all in for the rest of the wild ride.
One of the things that I love about this series is the way that the author keeps expanding the base. It’s not just soldiers, and the women are never damsels in distress. We see all the people who are needed to keep a place like this, and a resistance, up and running and taking it to the enemy. Every single person is busy, and everyone contributes something to the fight.
Chrissy is a terrific heroine for this series. Like many of the women, she’s both strong and vulnerable. That she was a prisoner of the Gizzida and was rescued gives her a different perspective on life in the Enclave. She never mourns what she lost in the invasion – only who she lost. But after her imprisonment, she sees every tiny luxury as a gift to be grateful for. And she is.
I liked Chrissy as a character quite a bit, as was happy to see her find her Happy for Now. All the romances in this series are all HFNs, not for the usual reasons, but because the Now is so precarious.
I hope to see them all become HEAs when the Gizzida get kicked back into space – or into Hell – for good. Hopefully in the not too distant future.
While I enjoyed the story, I'm starting to want some sort of resolution with the aliens. There's only a couple of more Berserkers to be paired off and then what? I hope there is a really spectacular conclusion to the series with the aliens defeated decisively.
I've loved this series from the very beginning and each new book just makes the experience more enjoyable. On one hand I want to see the humans defeat the aliens but on the other hand I'm not ready for this series to be over! Just like the earlier books there was plenty of action to keep me riveted and I was sucked into the new mission the berserkers get sent on. I also loved getting to see some of the previous characters and couples; another reason why I love this series.
Full of spunk and grease, Chrissy was a wonderful heroine who's down to earth and not afraid to speak her mind and get what she wants. I love a strong female lead and it was clear that Chrissy could easily step into that role. With a father who never knew what to do with daughters, Chrissy has been trying to prove her worth for a long time and this means she's determined to work hard and be successful. But not growing up with praise for her work has also left a few vulnerabilities in her tough exterior and when Levi recognizes her mechanical skills, she just about melts in all the best ways.
Acting as a perfect counterpoint, Levi was one dirty, dirty man. He's always lived on the edge and by his own rules but his honor and protective nature shine through. If you love a bad boy with a heart of gold then Levi is your hero. Once he sets his sights on Chrissy he goes in guns blazing and boy is it hot! Levi's alpha male aggression isn't my usual type but I thought that he was a great match for Chrissy who needed someone who could challenge her but also love her exactly as she is. When these two finally come together it sets the page on fire.
--------------- Favorite Quotes:
Praise from this man shouldn’t feel so good. “Thanks. You too.” He’d charged in with no concern for his own safety. She’d heard the berserkers were good at that. Suddenly, he grinned at her.
“Wow, you thanked me without spontaneously combusting.”
She screwed her nose up. “Don’t ruin it.”
- - - - - “You don’t care about the rules. You slide under them, step over them, bend them, ignore them, or flat-out just break them.”
- - - - - She needed some space from Levi. He was like a magnet, or a whirlpool…no, a black hole. He pulled her in, against her better judgement, like a vortex she couldn’t escape.
- - - - - “We’re alive. I need you to remember that shit happens, will always happen, but we keep getting back up, and life goes on.”
Anna Hackett's alien-ridden Australia may not be a great place to visit, but it makes for some great reading and I just can't wait to get into each new book when it comes out. I just live for her heroes and heroines and their butt-kicking ways when it comes to the scary aliens.
Levi is a member of the infamous squad 3, the Berserkers. These guys aren't military men, were never military men, and did a lot of irregular things before the aliens came. Levi was the head of a motorcycle club that he drug from the wrong side of the law to the right side. He fights hard, he parties hard, and he lives hard.
Chrissy is a mechanic who keeps the vehicles running. She worked hard in her dad's garage before the invasion and took a well-earned vacation to Oz right before the invasion took place. After months trapped in an alien prison, she was freed and was able to join the rag-tag band of humanity fighting back. When she saw trucks, she knew that she had to get to work with them. Levi is a perpetual thorn in her side. She knows his kind and wants nothing to do with him. But she's still attracted to him.
OMG, these guys. Chrissy really fights having any kind of feelings for Levi because she doesn't want to get hurt. I get that. I would totally want to avoid any kind of hurt and would totally want to stay in as much control as possible. She's pretty much a BAMF and I think Levi is probably the only guy who can equal her BAMF-ness, so they are pretty perfect for each other. Totally awesome book and I can't wait for the next book. It never comes soon enough.
Levi King likes to tease Chrissy Hagan, she is getting under his skin, but he has learned his lessons a long time ago. Now he fights and parties only by his own rules. And Chrissy is attracted, but also knows it is safer to keep her distance.
Those two clash in a battle of wills, throwing niceties at each other or more likely something totally different.
Chrissy is a mechanic, responsible for the Hunters and on one mission they bring a little extra back. Soon they plan on capturing an alien vehicle and Chrissy is their only option to accomplish that. But to have the vehicle is not the end, it is the beginning of another dangerous mission. And who is better on those than the berserkers?
Sparks are flying between Levi and Chrissy and there is a totally dramatic finish!
This is book #15 of the Hell Squad Series so if you are just starting, Marcus (#1) is FREE on Amazon so get on it :-D
Another successful Hell Squad book by the wonderful Anna Hackett. Levi is part of Squad 3, The Beserkers, and he used to run a Motorcycle club with his best mate Ash (#14). He's considered a badboy biker and and he meets his match with spunky Chrissy who is a survivor from the Gizzida Invasion and one of the skilled mechanics that works on the Z6Hunters. I don't want to give anything away, but if you've been following along with the Hell Squad Series, this is another book that doesn't disappoint.
Oh, my stars and garters! Levi (Hell Squad #15) delivers the goods in a thrill ride that is fast, hot and oh, so delicious! Levi, a member of the Berserkers, is as rough and dirty as his squad mates, but a good man beneath it all. Chrissy, the woman he's drawn to is smart, brave and one hell of a mechanic. Together, they are an explosive combo that kicks it and takes names. Buckle up and hang on tight, this one ROCKS!!
This is an excellent book that brings together both a blossoming romance between Chrissy and Levi, as well as the various dangerous missions they experience while gathering vital information necessary for the continuing protection of those in the Enclave. In addition, there are some interesting twists and turns involving Manu and Kate and Tane and Selena that sets the scene for interesting stories to come. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would have no hesitation in recommending it.
Every day spent at the Enclave reminds Chrissy of how lucky she is. Fixing engines is in Chrissy’s blood, a skill inherited from her father. Before the evasion she had worked hard to pull her weight at the garage and prove herself and to make things easier for her father; the rest of the time she spent cleaning up her wild sister’s messes. She had bent over backwards for the people in her life and it had never been enough. Chrissy has never been in love and finds Levi arrogant, over-confident and annoying and he manages to fuse her temper faster than anyone she knew; while Levi is persistent she doesn’t believe she will ever make him happy and a broken heart is the last thing she needs. Some days it felt like Levi had been fighting his entire life; he had been born into rough and was still living rough; he followed the rules, but they were his own. Levi’s father had not set a good example, and his ex-wife hadn’t loved him either; love and beauty were not for Levi and he had accepted that a long time ago. Levi had been proud of what he and Ash had achieved with their motorcycle club; that was until the Gizzida destroyed it all. Life never made things easy for Levi and he never expected it would. Chrissy is a challenge, an irresistible one, but Levi has learned never to give up; he always gets what he wants and his Spitfire is no exception. Chrissy is beautiful, fresh, good, kind, smart and brave; it is time for Levi to stake his claim. While Chrissy may want to ignore the pull between them, Levi didn’t. A routine patrol results in damage to one of the Enclave’s Hunters; a parasite hiding inside has been collecting data, but once dislodged it starts to attack Chrissy. Coming to her rescue, Levi sees just how fierce Chrissy has been fighting the creature; she had been tough and there had been no screaming or hysterics. Encryted data off the parasite reveals some additional important information, confirmed by their drone team and spiderbot; the Gizzida is hiding something underwater. Patching together an alien trike, Chrissy and the Berserkers head off to the underwater site, hiding out at the back of an alien convoy. The lead vehicle drives into the water and disappears. Ahead is an orange dome and in the middle stands a giant, black octagon; was this something designed to stamp out the last of the human survivors? The Berserkers may be rough, but they were a team, a side to them that most people in the Enclave never saw or would not even guess existed. While the area is heavily armed, the Berserkers need to complete their mission as soon as possible and get out of there, but they have been discovered and it is time to put Plan B into operation; can they find a way out and get back to the Enclave, or will their escape be thwarted? When all the odds are against them, help comes from unexpected sources. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Loved Levi obviously and I quite liked Chrissy as well, her sassy mouth, the way she is with Max and the other kids. But I'm still not a fan of taking civilians into a combat/ battle zone. Especially in a case like this one where it's not actually necessary, cause I'm never gonna believe that Mr. Levi 'GEARS' King couldn't have figured out how to do the things she did to/with the trike. The man who used to build custom bikes/cars for a living?!? Very different situation from back when Doc's help was needed with the tank survivors, there it at least made sense, unlike here.... it pisses me off. I love strong, kickass, soldier, warrior, fighter women, doesn't mean they all need to be one. You don't ask a coffee maker to make you a sandwich or a sandwich maker to make you coffee.
The other big problem I had was with her taking the unknown alien tech back to her room to work on it with no safety precautions whatsoever, surrounded by other civilian accommodations, after everything they've seen their tech capable of doing before... stupid, careless, reckless.
As far as the overall story is concerned things seem to have stalled somewhat with the last few installments having revealed titbits at best. That reminds me another thing that bugs me is the thing with the trees. It's mentioned in every freaking installment and yet after 2 whole years dealing with these raptors and witnessing their reactions to them they still haven't figured it out? No one has made such a potential asset a priority? Santha figured out the canid/cedar oil thing in less than 6 months - on her own!!! I'm sure Selena and her nature power/magic thing will have sth to do with it in the end.
Levi and Chrissy were made for each other Levi King is a squad 3 Berserker who loves a good fight, and he is focused on eliminating the evil alien Gizzida. Tough, sexy Levi with his distinctive man-bun loves a good romp after a challenging mission. He has no trouble finding a lady for a few hours of fun, but lately, he has been wondering about Chrissy, a beautiful redheaded mechanic. She’s feisty but oh so sexy. Before the invasion, Levi and his childhood best friend Ash ran a motorcycle club where they designed and built specialty cars and motorcycles. After the invasion, as the only survivors, they took off for the Blue Mountain Base, where they could help doing what they did best: fighting and causing havoc. They fit in perfectly with the Berserkers team. Chrissy Hagan is a mechanic like her father before her. She is a master at tinkering and fixing and enhancing engines. She’s the lead mechanic maintaining Berserkers' vehicles. In her spare time, she tinkers with recovered alien parts and tries to match them to familiar earth parts, hoping to enhance the Earth parts. Danger comes to Chrissy while taking apart one of the malfunctioning Berserker Hunters, and a spidery creature jumps out on her, squeezing and hurting her. Levi came in to see what she found, and together they detached the “alien thing”. Brave Chrissy is called upon for her skills to accompany the Berserkers on a few dangerous missions in Gizzida territory, which is terrifying and brings back memories of her time locked in a Gizzida cage. “Levi” is a great action and love story. I am rereading this entire fantastic series. Linda
LEVI's story grabbed my attention from the start and it sizzles with flaming passionate romance; a fast-paced page-turner. Hell Squad again heads into dangerous Gizzida territory in an attempt to annihilate the ones who threaten human existence. Inside; suspense, spine-chilling action, life-threatening moments/horrific danger, fantastic dialogue, humor, and a cast of characters that you will cheer for.
Levi is easy on the eyes, arrogant, wild, protective and one of Squad Three's Berserkers. Chrissy a beauty, is audacious and aces her mechanic job. Hungry desires flare between them, they clash and Chrissy tries to avoid Levi every chance she gets. The two do get their happy ending but obtaining it is quite a stormy tale.
LOVED every minute of this enthralling book; the characters come alive with breathtaking scene descriptions and the romance between Chrissy and Levi is full of heated devotion; they fit perfectly and I adored them together. The backstories of Levi and Chrissy give the reader more understanding of their nature. The message in this story is, live life - just don't exist! If you enjoy sci-fi romance this is a fabulous choice for your library. This story was so entertaining that {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy and without reservations, I recommend this read.
I really enjoy Anna Hackett as an author her mixture of action, adventure and scorching romance is my favorite go to anytime read. She does not disappoint with Levi. Our hero is a member of squad 3 the Berserkers and boy I thought I loved the others these tortured bad boys with soft hearts will capture you and never let go. Levi grew up rough and the invasion was worse. But he’s resilient, strong and determined to fight hard and love even harder. Chrissy has also had a tough life but the invasion was so much worse on vacation, family lost, on the run and then capture and experimentation at the hands of the aliens. She tough, so sassy, intelligent and gifted with a wrench, she one hell of a mechanic. When both of them are in a room sparks fly and oil ignites!! It was a terrific installment to one of my favorite series. And I’m beyong thrilled that Manu is getting own story next. He’s been a side character in several of the books and has fascinated me from the beginning. He was once a part of the beserkers but lost one of his legs in the line of duty. He’s still as tough as they come amen having a missing leg hasn’t only Karen him stronger. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Levi is part of Squad Three which is know as the berserkers and each member is more comfortable pursing the Gizzida aliens on their armoured bikes and occasionally they get to take out the Hunters. Chrissy is one of their best mechanics and it is her job to keep the Hunters up and running and as far as she is concerned the beserkers are the hardest on their equipment. Levi is very attracted to Chrissy with her red hair and sassy temperament, to him she is a spitfire. Chrissy thinks Levi is just annoying and used to getting what he wants, but he is not getting her she knows his type. Levi does not think love and beauty are for him but he really wants Chrissy. Levi and Chrissy are about to go on a dangerous mission together with the rest of his team and both of them are about to learn what love is all about and hopefully along the way they will find out what the Gizzida are really doing flooding parts of Sydney. Thank you to Anna Hackett for the amazing review copy. Love reading the Hell Squad Series, as in each book you get to catch up with all the previous characters. Highly Recommend this author and her books.
The Berserkers are back! I'm usually not a fan of Bad Boys but this group have captured my heart! They me be tatted to the nth degree and seen the inside of police station more than most but that doesn't make them bad guys if you get my meaning? They are rough, tough and have their own set of rules.
Levi is part of the motley crew of Berserkers. He is...well the nicest way of putting is that he had an ummm eclectic in his taste for women. he loves them all and he loves to share the love! But he is getting tangled up in knots by Chrissy. She doesn't put up with his antics and snarks back at him. She can pull apart an engine with the best of them and something about her getting all greasy seems to be an aphrodisiac for him!
Chrissy is an engineering marvel! She tinkers about with squads vehicles, making them as safe as she can. She harbours a thing for Levi but she has no intention of being just another notch on his bedpost. She is snarky, sassy, sexy and smart - a brilliant combination.
I am all just as hooked now as I was when I first began this series.
After a run in with the Gizzida's latest weaponized vehicle, Levi and his squad face the wrath of Chrissy, the woman in charge of maintaining their own dwindling number of vehicles. Chrissy, having survived being captive for months, is not prepared for how strongly she reacts to Levi. She doesn't have time for this, right?
Then, when the Gizzida ramp up their efforts and flood an area for secrecy, everyone on base knows that they have to figure out what's going on...before it's too late. Chrissy's special set of skills as well as her familiarity with Gizzida technology make her uniquely qualified to go on a mission into enemy territory, but will Levi with his developing feelings for her be able to keep her safe?
Look, my words don't do this story justice, as there is so much more complexity in Anna's writing than I can express without giving things away. If you like action, romance, scifi, or just a really good story, this is the author for you.
