Gabriella and Richard were high school boyfriend and girlfriend. There final year of High School they make love knowing that they would not see each other again. Richard is off to the Ivy league Columbia University in N.Y on a full scholarship and Gabi will stay in there small town in Washington State.

9 years later Richard scandalist sexual encounters are runing his credibilty. He is now a billionaire owner of a tech company that make cell phones ipads and such. So he returns home to his small town and meets up with Gabi and her daughter.

This is were the story goes off the rails. Richy is suppose to be highly intelligent but he cant count and see that Chelsea 8 years and 3 months old with his grey eyes is his child. Until the end of the book he thinks Gabi had sex with another nameless man days after he left. He was a dumb man. Gabi doesn't tell him he is the father when he ask who Chelsea's father was. I would not have told him either.

The other big problem I had with the story was one of Richy stalker girlfriends kidnaps Chelsea. The author could have use this as a teaching moment. Most decent parents teach there children safe words and slogans and tell them never go off with someone even a person you know unless they can answer the safe word or slogans. Also if forceably being aducted do all you can to scream and fight and draw there blood. It the abudctor takes you to his lair they can do all sorts of things to you. I taught these skills to my kids are soon as they could talk. This whole kidnapping scene was just poorly done. Lazy writing and a lost opportunity to help young parents who really don't know to teach there kids safety techniques.

There is not much interaction with Chelsea and Richy. Even after she is kidnapped and him and Gabi bring her back home. Chelsea just goes to her room without a word and Gabi and Richy go Gabi's room and have wild sex. They didn't even check on there daughter after a traumatic ordeal. She only 8. The author must not have any children and if she does she souldn't.

So..so

Yes..I found this a "so-so" read. No real thrills, a lil slow. What saved it for me was the undying love lying dormant for years while two people moved in opposite directions doing what they felt best for each other & themselves. But fate intervened and a gem named Chelsea moved mountains with one phone call. Gabriella & Richard
we're destined to be together it seems but only when the time was right.
A cotton candy romance both fanciful and down to earth. 👍

Buttercup

Good story, a little slow getting started but enjoyable. A lot of words before you get to the plot. Not sure how I feel about that. I still look forward to her next story.☺
