Gifted with the power of the Aurora Borealis, the Wardens of Starlight seek to destroy the forces of darkness plaguing the earth: vampyrés, lycans, witches, and more. Hatred for the supernatural resides deep in their blood, except that is, for Calliope.
Calliope “Callie” Sawyer has a secret—one that could cost her her life: a soulmark. Kept hidden all her life from family and friends, Callie’s secret is exposed at the worst possible time, while the Wardens are being robbed. Now, burdened with the knowledge of her soulmark, she finds herself at an unforgivable crossroad. Do right by her people, or unravel the truth about the mysterious and stoic wolf who bears her soulmark.
There’s a reason Keenan O’Neal ranks so high in the Adolphus Pack. He’s steadfast, strong, and deadly when necessary. Tasked to steal the Amethyst of the Aztec ring before the pack's enemies can, plans go awry when he discovers the identity of his soulmark. As well as her right hook. With the supernatural world coming to a head over the coveted relic, stakes couldn't be higher for either side—because losing isn't an option.
Brought together by this cruel twist of fate, these two enemies must decide whether to fight for love or fight each other.
**This book is the third installment of the Soulmark Series, readers are encouraged to read the first two books of the series.
Do you believe in magic? Rebecca Main does. Her magic wand is a well-worn pen that’s been known to weave stories that transport readers to other worlds. Other enchanting pastimes of Rebecca include traveling and showering her two cats, Dorcas and Pudge, with love.

Calliope Sawyer has a secret that could cost her her life. I love this character and her willingness to put her life on the line for her friends. I could so easily relate to her, and she has become my favorite character. She’s tough, unstoppable when she sets her sights on what she firmly believes is the right thing. Rebecca Main makes Calliope shine. She wants to be a Starlight warrior and the supernaturals are her enemies. This will all change, when she meets Keenan O’Neal, a werewolf.
The best book out of the three in the series! Not only was it a fun read that stuck to our female MC perspective only, but it also introduced the reader to a new perspective in the human vs lycan shenanigans.
Our MC is Callie a kickass Warrior...a hunter of all things supernatural, a protector if humans...well she would be if the Council would let her. See our girl made a big mistake where lives were lost and she was demoted to serve as a Warden. A glorified librarian that us also protects the artifacts against danger, which of course shows up in the form of a group of lycans who are there to steal one of the artifacts.
Big fight between her and one of the wolves where she finds out by a touch that he is her Soulmate. Dun-dun-DUUUUUNNNN! We later find out that said wolf is Keenan, a lycan we've met in the previous books. I like him, he's quiet and solid. A good friend and great fighter.
Not going to explain all of the plot but the one thing I want to point out is that the plot in this book is different from the other two. Where the two lycans in book 1 and 2 kept pushing their Soulmates for a romantic/sexual relationship and trampled over the boundries set by their ladies...this book is different, Keenan is different.
He's calm and patient. When she says friendship is all he'll get he goes with it. He listens to her and spars with her. He treats her as an equal instead of a prize to be won. Hence my 4 star rating.
Took of the 1 star for the (again) rushed ending, though far better than books 1 and 2, and the random Fairy that showed up once more only for it to be just a strange distraction.
There's supposed to be a part 4 and 5 as well, but am still debating whether to go for them or not.
Wardens of Starlight was well worth the wait! I loved the introduction of the Wardens and how they tied into the rest of the lore. The way Rebecca Main is able to spin a story full of detail and new characters without making it boring or stale is refreshing to say the least. I love Keenan and his rough but kind nature and how Calliope is sexy but has a fighters build with tattoos. I like that all of the women in the Soulmark series have differing physical features and aren't just the same cookie cutter barbie doll. Now to begin the countdown for the next book!!!
Oh I sank right into this book, and then devoured three more in quick succession... absolutely wonderful, the text flows well, the worldbuilding is solid if a little restricted as yet, and the alpha's are grrr and maybe a little too grrr for some, but I enjoyed it a lot, a whole lot, and the fact that it has a wonderful humour to it too.
If you love your alpha / heroin get together's - I wholeheartedly recommend this book

I liked this book in the series, it was an easy read that gave me what I needed and didn't leave me feeling deflated like so many other has. It isn't by any means the best book I've ever read, not even the best book for this genre but I enjoyed it. The romance was easier than the last two books and I liked that, I was wanting an easy read and I got it. Though I went into this series with no expectations for enjoying it I find myself wanting to continue this series despite some of it's faults.
