Across the town of Andover , acts of unimaginable evil are being committed. Acts of murder, suicide, torture and revenge are being committed. These acts begin with a ritual of a blood sacrifice, to contain an ancient evil. These are all signs of the evil spreading its cold fingers across the town.

An ancient evil linked to an historic tree on the outskirts of the town of Andover, England sparks a wave of crime across the town. Horrific and thrilling, people in each chapter in the 24 hour timeline are linked to each other like some crazy blood induced mixed up version of Love Actually.
I turned each page rapidly reading, I honestly couldn’t leave this book alone, it’s addictively terrifying and fascinating. The local aspects for me as a resident of Andover made it all the more poignant but it’s a great read even if you don’t know our little Hampshire town.
Many of the chapters stick in my mind but the one concerning Eric and his dear old dog Rex is indelibly marked in my brain.
If you’re looking for a fast paced horror novel filled with shocks, you’ve found the right book! Highly recommended.

Get ready to be scared! Martin McGregor has written short stories guaranteed to scare the hardiest soul. I read a lot and the first two stories had me turning on the lights, locking the doors, and checking the windows. Not for the faint of heart!

Absolutely loved this book. As usual, Martins books are enjoyable to read and intriguing. Loved the fact that each story/chapter merges seamlessly into the next....a pleasant and well done surprise.
Fully recommended for an escape book that makes you want to keep reading...to discover where the next story will take you... some unexpected turns will keep you reading til the last page.
