I once lived in two different worlds—billionaire businessman by day, fighter by night. When the suit came off, the gloves came on.
It’s been five years since I last stepped into the Octagon, since my life spun out of control. I haven’t even so much as gone near a fighting ring. I promised my family I’d never raise my fists again.
But when my best mate, Les, lands himself in trouble with a notorious Dublin crime lord, I must break my promises. I have to do the one thing I vowed never to do: fight. I have to fight to save him and everyone in his life . . . including Anna Drake, the innocent and gorgeous woman Les tricked into rooming with him.
Anna Drake is off limits. She’s innocent and sweet—everything that I’m not. She’s also interning at my company—a lawsuit waiting to happen.
I have to save her, to pull her and Les out of the mess that he’s made. But the more time we spend together, the more I’m falling for her. And the more I fight, the more I crave it. I don’t deserve Anna . . . and yet, without her, I’m not sure if I can save myself.
Brittney Sahin began writing at an early age, with the dream to be a published author before the age of 18. Although academic pursuits (and, later, a teaching career) interrupted her aspirations, she never stopped writing—never stopped imagining.
It wasn’t until her students encouraged her to follow her dreams that Brittney said goodbye to Upstate New York in order to start a new adventure in the place she was raised: Charlotte, North Carolina. Here, she decided to take her students’ advice and begin to write again.
In 2015, she published her first novel, The Safe Bet. When she is not working on upcoming novels, she spends time with her family. She is a proud mother of two boys and a lover of suspense novels, coffee, and the outdoors.
When a book takes place in Ireland with a hot Irishman? Count me in. Adam former underground fighter now turned business man has to go back to the cage to save his best mate and the girl he is falling for. He barely survived the first time to get out of Donovan’s clutches but now there is a lot more at stake. Money won’t make this go away. He is partly doing it for the right reasons but he is also being selfish he misses it. The adrenaline, the fighting he is a man on the edge who walks a fine line. Anna has gotten an internship in Ireland she is escaping an abusive relationship. Dublin is her fresh start for the next 3 months. Her roommate Leslie, sorry to say this love but Leslie is a male name in Ireland so he was screwing with you there. I admire her courage to live her life, we see her confidence coming back. Adam and Anna meet in Leslie’s flat and it is awkward. But it can’t get any more awkward right? Wrong. She is interning at the company he owns. Coincidence? I think not. With their daily interaction and Anna now being in Donovan’s sights to get what he wants. Adam. They start off as friends although they soon realise that it won’t work and they quickly go to become lovers. They are good together, I loved Adam. He has everything in a Hero. His one flaw he is a martyr. I’m not good enough for you, yaddy-yaddy-ya. Oh please she’s not a Miss Goody-Two-Shoes. Nice add with the youth group that is actually my favourite part all the interaction with the kids and seeing what they are doing for them. With all the positive aspects in the book I got to say I just wasn’t connecting with the characters. There is everything I like in a book, the writing style is solid. There is humour, chemistry and a great balance between the romance, suspense and the getting to know you part of the book. But I just couldn’t connect. This is me. This is on me and not the author but I really do not like it when the Hero/heroine work in an office environment. Now this is just my personal opinion but Adam said Anna’s name in nearly every single sentence and at some point it just got to be too much.
I listen to the audiobook about the 3rd hour and I can not continue. This book has no originality. I feel I read the story before in FSOG, On Dublin Street (just to name a few). The dialog, the chemistry, even the insta lust is not working. The push and pull is off the focus and there is not enough plot to keep the story alive.
"And, by the way, I'm no one special. Don't go pinning your hopes on me, Anna. I'm not the saint you're painting me out to be." Not even close.
Adam left his old life behind five years ago, accepting that the office life and suits are what he's got to do to have his family. When he's pulled back into the world of underground fighting he doesn't expect to stick around, just to get his friend out and go, but that's until he meets Anna Drake, the innocent intern he wants to protect and show the best side of himself to. He knows he's no good for her, especially after he finds a rush back inside the ring, but she won't leave his mind. He knows he's doing the right thing by protecting her, but the more time they spend together the more the secrets begin to pile up and their romance may just go up in smoke if he gives in to the call of violence.
"I'm trying to look after her, Adam," he called after me, and that stopped me in my tracks. "Especially if you're fighting again. If you're going down, don't bring her down with ya."
I love a good book with a male character that's a fighter, I have since high school, so it was of no surprise how much I liked Adam MacGregor. He's got all the qualities you want in a fighter; passion, drive, and Irish good looks to go with it all. More than that though, he's got all the qualities of a perfect book boyfriend, with his success, looks, and desperate need to care for the woman he's fallen head over heels for. I loved that he was this wealthy, intimidating man that was won over by a charming young American, that she changed his entire outlook. Anna Drake is all of us at 24, by far the most relatable character Brittney has ever written, and I'm a big fan of all her characters. She's a young woman in a big world, fighting her past, learning herself, and discovering true romance and love doesn't always follow the fairy tale stories. Both characters have pasts to deal with and as they face them together the character growth is astounding, as is the steamy chemistry they share.
Right now, all I wanted were those arms, his strong and safe arms, wrapped around me. I needed something to calm the swell of fear that was brewing inside me.
Some of the story line is cliche, some of the moments are over-the-top, but I read books to live a different life and let me tell you, I totally have a fantasy of being Anna now. Adam and Anna find in one another a dream of a future, something both had brushed off after their pasts had taken their confidence and unmarred view of life away. Their pasts had left them with scars that others couldn't see, but Brittney portrayed perfectly with her emotional writing. I loved that in discovering one another they also discovered their desire to overcome the past. From the business world to the underground fighting world, Anna and Adam find hope in one another. It's a story you won't be able to put down, come to life through Brittney Sahin's descriptive writing, even down to the Irish brogue that Adam boasts that you'll be able to hear in your head as you read.
He was dangerous because he could turn my heart to dust.
I say it every time, but Brittney has outdone herself with Forever Dublin. The Forever series is not to be missed, but especially not this one. The writing is outstanding, the story line intriguing, and the characters the kind you connect with and fall for. Once I started reading, I could not stop.
On the Edge grabbed me from the Kindle splash screen photo. This was the first non-paranormal romance novel I read. And I've read it 3 more times since then. Brittney Sahin creates beautifully intricate characters and weaves their lives into solid, believable storylines that still provide an element of suspense and escape from the every day. Set against the backdrop of Dublin, Ireland, Anna and Adam's story pulls you in from the start. As a reader, I was completely invested in their lives and their HEA. The first book in the Dublin Nights series, On the Edge sets a solid tone for the next several books, all of which are even better than the one before.
This was a fast paced, sexy read. Hot billionaire/fighter Adam is such a sweetheart and Anna is his perfect match. Mostly it was a sweet romance with the usual ups and downs. Overall a good read.
** I volunteered to read an advance reviewer copy of this book. **
Where to start? Utterly gutted and lifeless at the end of this story due to having every emotion experienced in this reading. I laughed; I cried. I was happy; I was sad. I was excited; I was nervous. The power by the words to wreck such havoc on my body made me realize how much I truly enjoyed this journey. And the fact that I am looking to "revisit" sexpot McGregor and Ireland again, reveals that sometimes you need a bit of angst and darkness to embrace the light in your life so completely.
"Forever Dublin" is by author Brittney Sahin. My Rating: 5 Cover: 5 Published: January 9, 2017 Read: January 18, 2017 Told in dual 1st person POVs Standalone unrelated series. Previous title: Forever Rome.
Adam McGregor and Anna Drake.....
I'll admit right now I am in complete love with Adam! I also admit that I have many, many book boyfriends. However it is not often when one ends up in my dreams at night as Adam did. He was such an amazing character; written with care. Flawed? Aren't they all? Adam believed he was flawed more than anyone, except me. The only flaws I saw in him was that he was too galant, too hard on himself. Because of something that happened five years into his past, Adam believed himself unworthy of anything good; especially beautiful and kind Anna Drake.
Anna is one of my favorite heroines ever! Anna was also hiding from a past. But unlike Adam's determination that he not allow himself to be happy, Anna was determined to live positively and make changes in her life.
Anna accepts an internship for three months in a large Dublin corporation. When she first arrives from Oklahoma, warily but eagerly, she learns the roommate she was supposed to share expenses with is 'away.' But then she meets Adam. Anna and Adam had strong chemistry from the first moment they met. But they don't immediately act on it. Adam, because Anna is too wholesome and beautiful and kind; exactly what he doesn't deserve. Anna's hesitation is because Adam turns out to be the owner of the corporation she is interning with. He's her boss!
I could easily write a lengthy summary of this book because I loved it so much, and even days later it is still so fresh on my mind. But I won't do that. I will say that danger lurks for Anna. Adam will risk anything to keep her safe from harm; even if it means returning to the hell of his nightmare of five years.
Adam and Anna are a strong couple. Both are willing to protect and sacrifice for the other. As I mentioned earlier; their chemistry is scorching. And just add that to all the sexual tension building between them; it was inevitable they would combust when they came together intimately. (no pun intended ;) ) They were so beautiful together.
Forever Dublin has secrets, suspense and tense moments. But the amount of angst was not overdone and yet it was enough to engross me thoroughly from first to last page.
If you love a good romance whose hero I would describe as a grizzly with the heart of a teddy; who is sexy, alpha and whose sweet and tender side is an A+ swoon-worthy rating, you will love Adam. No doubt! Anna is an amazing strong-willed heroine with a heart of gold, who I admired and envied the heck out of.
Add Forever Dublin to your TBR; you won't be sorry. I promise!
*I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book.*
I really wanted to like this story. What's not to like about an Irish billionaire, secret fight club, an American intern who meet said hot Irish guy...and it all takes place in Dublin, Ireland? I liked the premise of the story, in fact the character of Adam McGregor piqued my interest when I discovered there was more to him than being a wealthy man. It was also exciting to learn that the heroine, Anna was an American from Kentucky who has never traveled outside her state, but decided to take an internship in Ireland. I was excited to see how these two would pull the readers into their story.
Adam McGregor is part of the McGregor dynasty - a family who was considered "almost royalty" in Dublin. It was almost believable how he was portrayed in the beginning, a rich bad boy billionaire. The McGregor name was well known, in fact Adam himself was owner of an Italian Football team. The author made out that that Adam and the McGregor name was a strong, wealthy family in which Dublin society have respected for over a century. But the "secret" and the handling of the situation he and Anna had gone through did not work for this reader. The author kept repeating he was a billionaire, in fact it became redundant when it made it seem that Anna only cared about her attraction to him was he was a billionaire - it was understood! With this overly use of the word and reminder, it didn't make sense why a member of a prominent family with all their billions and couldn't find a solution for dealing with, Donovan Hannigan, a criminal. (Even the blackmailing plot didn't really make sense. The bad guy wasn't made out to be a big time crime lord or mafia, aside from having some tough bodyguards. It wasn't really explained why he was feared).
I felt this story required a bit more work in plotting. The billionaire aspect did not match the blackmailing situation. In my mind, with so much money, Adam, with the help of his family and their connection could have handled Donovan Hannigan. Also, the repetitive use of the word billionaire and convincing the readers that the story was taking place in Ireland, became annoying rather than exciting.
This story could have been a good read, but there were too many holes. The main characters had chemistry, but their relationship really didn't get developed until almost the end. An interesting premise in the beginning, a little bit of action in the middle, but a flat and blah ending.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
From the moment I have opened my first read by Brittney Sahin, I have slowly but surely fell in love with her writing. One of the things that had me fallen hard for Brittney's stories is her talent for giving her readers the most swoon worthy heroes from overseas... they have our hearts melting and our tongues salivating. I felt that after meeting Aiden from Innocence & Betrayal, and again after fawning over Marco in Forever Rome, but Brittney absolutely slayed me with Adam in Forever Dublin and had me craving the Irish slang and the delicious muscles of a fighter. Adam and Anna are Brittney's hottest couple and you won't want to miss every gut wrenching and heart pounding round between these two.
Twenty-four year old Anna Drake has decided that taking an intern position in Dublin and leaving behind the hills of Kentucky will solve all of the problems in her troubled past... well at least for three months it will. So the wide eyed and a bit naive Anna is ready to embark on a new adventure and spread her wings and fly, but what she doesn't expect is to encounter the hottest man with the most beautiful Irish accent that says the filthiest words that could heat her instantly. I loved watching Anna come out of her shell, find that love that she deserves, and become the confident woman that she used to be and so much more.
Adam MacGregor has spent the last five years turning his life around by stepping out of the boxing ring and wearing a business suit. That is until his friend Les gets him involved in his sinister world and he meets the sexiest woman at the same time. His life is soon turned upside down and he has no choice but to step back into the ring. Adam had me from the moment he opened his mouth and uttered his first word. His Irish brogue left me undone along with those muscles and what reader doesn't love a dark and broody man! Brittney gave us the best of both worlds with Adam's ability to wear a suit like a boss and strip down and have us fanning ourselves with his prowess in the ring... not to mention the bedroom... whew!
Brittney Sahin delivers a story that takes her readers to a different world where we experience two people fighting their past mistakes and for the love of a lifetime. I highly recommend Forever Dublin and the first book in the Forever series, Forever Rome, for two out of this world romances that will leave you addicted to more than just the accent and ready to take another trip in one of Brittney's fictional world. Brittney Sahin has become one of my favorite authors and I cannot wait to see what new worlds she creates in the future.
A cute book, with a heart warming romance that really stood out to me. The story was great it didn’t have boring moment, the book really captivated me.
I was quite intrigued by the synopsis so I delved in over the weekend. I really liked it a lot but "something" was missing and I am not sure what it is exactly but I didn't "love" it. I liked the characters a lot but I felt like I was a bit unattached to them as well. For some reason, I just couldn't "fully" connect with them and I can't describe why exactly BUT something was just missing in the writing I feel. I know it sounds crazy but again, I liked this story a lot but just wasn't "in love" with it.
The storyline was good, I hated how all he ever said was that he wasn't a good man and his family life was "odd" too....all just weird for me and her, I felt the same way too:( Odd family members that were hard to connect with so I guess it just made me therefore having a hard time to fully relate with them as well as invest in them too. Sounds weird I know but just a bot off for me in the character development area. The storyline was good but also again a bit off, I fell like that could have been tweaked in a different way but again that's just me being "picky".
This book has it all...a hot as hell CEO by day and fighter by night and to top it off....he is Irish ☘️😍 what is not to love...Adam McGregor...swoon worthy, hot looking, sweet talking guy...and he can fight!!
Anna...a country girl from Kentucky who is...shy, sweet..but definitely comes out of herself!!
This book has you on the edge of your seat at times, my heart broke as well so much...I wanted to crawl in the book and just wrap my arms around these 2 characters and just give them the HEA they desperately deserved. This is the first book by this author I have read and it undoubtedly won’t be the last...I loved it from start to finish, I just wish life hadn’t got in my way and would have read this in a day...
Definitely deserves the 5 ⭐️ rating..and I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future.
This book is amazing! Britney's best yet! Adam and Anna were wonderful. I loved reading from both POV and understanding their feelings. Their individual struggles were no match for the healing they did together and it was a joy to read every word! I can't wait for more from Brittney and would love to read more about Adam and Anna.
Adam & Anna were the best. This was such an enchanting story. The scenery was described beautifully, just like you were in Dublin. I enjoyed the authors writing. Looking forward to more.
I just finished On the Edge and HOLY SHIIIT it's amazing!!! You get the best of both worlds... sexy businessman who loves his family and isn't afraid to love an amazing strong woman!!! And you get the DIRTY SEXY SIDE AS WELL!!!! When the steamy fighter side of Adam McGregor comes out... watch out ladies!!!! This book really has it ALL and you'll regret not reading it UNLESS tou go GET IT NOW!!!
This started off well, I liked the premise of the story and it’s nice to read a romance set in Ireland. I was enjoying this till about halfway through then it sort of lost its momentum, it jumped about a bit from then on, and Anna really started to get on my nerves, I think the words I’m looking for is she became a bit too precious for me. Once I start skimming a story that’s never good. As for Adam I loved him. It’s a shame as this had real potential
I have read all of this authors work, and in my opinion this was the best to date! Brittney’s work just gets better and better, and I am in awe of her talent as an author, and the way in which she spins a tale in such a way that the reader feels enamoured with the characters. When Anna leaves her hometown to intern in Dublin in order to spread her wings, she meets sexy Adam, who is her flatmates friend. Adam has left behind the life of boxing, and swapped his attire for a business suite. When his friend Lee gets into trouble with the underworld, Adam takes on the task of rescuing him and Anna from the danger they are both in. I loved how Adam and Anna’s relationship developed, and together they began to overcome their pasts. My new favourite couple so far!! This is an amazing and emotional book, which is told in dual POV’s. Brittany never disappoints with any of her work, and I highly recommend for all readers. I cannot wait to read more from her in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book for the author!
Absolutely loved this book! Brittney Sahin has outdone herself with Forever Dublin. I fell in love with Adam and Anna. In fact, I’d love to see more about these characters. I highly recommend this book with it’s well paced, hot, and amazing story line. Very well done!!
This is the first book in the Dublin Nights series by Brittney Sahin.
I have read a few other books by Sahin and found them amazing and a great read. This book was no different.
Basic premise: Anna has fled Kentucky to take an opportunity as an intern in a media company in Dublin run by the MacGregors. She meets Adam after his friend Lesley “Les” convinced Anna he needed a roommate. The price was right but she didn’t know Lesley was a man or that he wouldn’t show up on day one to introduce himself. Instead she gets a crash course on Adam. Once she shows up for her intern assignment, she realizes that Adam has been keeping a secret from her. He is a MacGregor!
I thought the plotting and character development in this was great! Just when you think the rush may be over, you get drawn further into the dire circumstances. The suspense never ends with this and you wonder if the two of them will ever find closure. I was hooked from the very beginning. Definitely a series I want to continue to follow! I wonder who will show up in book two?
If you love a good contemporary romance, definitely check this one out. You won’t be disappointed.
Even though I occasionally struggled with his family being rich, entitled assholes - I mean, honestly, they really wanted to blame everyone else for their shitty decisions all the time (and I especially loved Holly trying to blame Anna for the fighting, even though literally all that Anna did to bring this on is move to Dublin) - and I thought it was gross that even though it was Adam interested in the intern, the company was thinking it probably wasn't safe to offer Anna the job (because all the consequences should always fall on the woman, amirite?), I did enjoy the book. Because I enjoyed Anna and Adam. I liked that they filled each other's holes, and were stronger together. I thought they were very sweet.
I'm not going to put this on my romantic suspense shelf, though, because even though there was a threatening douchebag in the story, nothing ever actually happened, and there never honestly was much tension about it.
I really enjoyed this one! Highly predictable and a little cheesy in places; if I completely erase the final page from my mind, this book was amazing. I loved Adam and Anna, though I do wish Anna had been a bit more fleshed out with her passions and not just a product of abuse. I wish she'd been given more time to flourish with her own love for animals and whatever other hobbies she had (because marketing definitely wasn't one of them). Other than that, this was sweet and entertaining. I can't wait to see everyone else's stories developing in the remaining books!
TWs: blood, violence, ref to sexual harassment, domestic abuse (past relationship), emotional abuse, gun use, death of pet, hospitalisation, drug addiction
Tropes/rep/themes: underground fighting, mma fighter, irish billionaire boss x american intern, i see how they look at you
Okay! I have been binge reading this author's books ever since I stumbled upon them as a suggestion for Kindle Unlimited (If you aren't subscribed, you are missing out on a great deal!). All the previous novels of Sahin has been VERY American (And I don't imply that is a bad thing), so I was naturally very interested to see if she could write a male lead from another nationality that was equally as riveting as her Navy Seals she does such a spectacular job with. The answer is YES. Adam is such a hottie, and he wasn't the stereotypical douchebag billionaire that is so often written in books. No, he is caring and in touch with himself and does things despite being rich. He also has his dark side, don't worry! His underground fighting creates so much tension in this book, especially when it comes out that Anna does not have a good history with fighting herself. I know this series goes into some international anti-terrorism group eventually, but I did enjoy the fact that this story, while with it's own suspense, was a bit different with the antagonist a very local character (but still an enormous dickhead in his own right).
I will DEFINITELY be moving onto the next couple of books in this series!
On The Edge" takes place in Dublin, Ireland. Anna moves there for a short-term internship to escape her past. Upon arrival, she meets Adam, who is friends with her roommate. Adam is a businessman and owns the company Anna is interning at. As Anna and Adam get to know each other, she discovers his secrets. However, Anna also has a secret of her own, which she doesn't share with Adam initially.
My Opinion: I have mixed feelings about this book. Although some chapters were engaging, others felt repetitive and predictable. However, I appreciated the well-constructed characters, and the fact that Adam is a fighter with an Irish accent was a definite plus for me.
ON THE EDGE was a Featured Book in the Sizzling HOT Romance Book Club on Facebook, and it was definitely a great pick! I sat down to read a couple of chapters and ended up reading the entire book. It's that good.
Adam and Anna are great together. A hot Irish billionaire bad boy? What's not to love? Anna is the perfect good-girl compliment to him, and they're both damaged just enough to make you genuinely want good things for them.
ON THE EDGE has the right amount of heat, plus an element of danger that brings the story to the next level. I loved this book and can't recommend it highly enough. 5 easy stars!!
It was a good book but not really something that kept my interest all night. Usually when I like the book, I am up all night reading it. I liked the characters but when I got to Book 2 with the young lass going missing and the police involved, I lost interest. I'm not much of a mystery/crime reader. I will go ahead and at least finish book 2 at some point but I've already started to read something else. Thank you though. Please continue to please your other fans, I'm sure you have many who do enjoy them.
I hadn't had a chance to read this novel by Brittney, so I thought I'd pick it up.
I wasn't disappointed. As with all of her books, the main characters, Adam and Anna had depth, were relatable and easy to like. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it more then some of her more current ones, but it was a good solid read and definitely a 4 star read.
