Kelly's bad day...After a simple case of supernatural pest control goes sideways, Kelly knows she's in for a really bad day. But when she's called to help protect some children on their way home, she can't refuse. Even if it means working with her least-favorite vampire and the wizard she’s sworn to destroy.Babysitting’s a tough enough gig, but these kids are changelings with magical powers of their own. The goblins who stole them are already keeping score against the Sekutar warrior. So is the victim of the earlier pest control mission, who left Kelly a parting a deadly curse.
Seems like everyone has a bad case of the Vendetta Blues.
Vendetta Blues has Kelly trying to return changelings without them getting captured again, fighting a water spirit, and dealing with a goblin that has been given her problems for too long. She has also made most of her friends mad at her and has serious man issues. The series just gets better and better. Lots of action, magic and interesting characters that make this series great!
This 5th Kelly Chan book is an excellent story full of action, challenges, magic and intrigue. When Kelly and Amanda face off against a vengeful water spirit, it is only the start of the day’s problems. Things become even more complicated and dangerous when Kelly has to return four Changelings to their true home, without them getting recaptured by unseelie fae that she has clashed with before. A lot happens in this story, from a reawakened naiad to vindictive goblins, lost children, surprise friendships, deadly battles and a potentially lethal curse. There are many great twists, turns and sub plots in this book and some really excellent character development as well. I especially loved Gerry's story, it tugged at your heart and was full of surprises. The interplay between the characters was particularly good in this book and I liked how the relationships were not static or one dimensional, that they changed and developed along with the story. I will look forward to seeing where things will lead for Kelly and the others in future books.
Fun and games with Kelly Chan means blood is shed and heads are bashed, all in good fun, of course. This adventure is a great Great Great, and a satisfying one. r
I’ve enjoyed every book in the series but I think this was the best - the character development is great and there’s sub plots behind the main plot. Highly recommended!
This is a fine book in the Kelly Chan series and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is nicely written, the violence is not overwhelming, and the plot is nicely carried out. I enjoyed the characters and their interaction. Read it and enjoy it, I did!
