www.evidencebasedpracticebooks.com Isabella must maintain the demands of her challenging professional career as the new Director of Nursing in Labor & Delivery in a predominately White Hospital, while balancing her personal life as a devoted mother. Meanwhile, Mike is in jail awaiting trial for a murder he may not have committed and the pressure to choose between Kofi or Jamal turns out to be more than she expected as secrets are revealed that puts her life at stake. New friendships are strengthened and reunions are made, all while Isabella is forced to collect evidence in an effort to save her own life.
Although the twists were still there, this fell short of part one for me. For one, there were a lot more errors in this installment. I started losing respect for Bella with all the cursing she allowed in her department - she was so professional before. And the sexcapades should have gone against her entire being as a nurse, mother and given the history of her partners. The storyline itself is still engaging, but getting to the point of being too drawn out. I hope this is all wrapped up in the next installment.
This book is basically a rehash, full of gratuitous sex and irrelevant details. I wanted to like this book, but found myself skimming through it. The main character, Bella, is a nurse, but has unprotected sex with a stranger at a conference, and Kofi's shady behind. And don't get me started on his so called twist. The author set the story up for book three, but I am over this series.
