THIS IS A STANDALONE NOVELLA When the one who was your designated protector fails you, who can you run? These are the constant thoughts of eighteen-year-old Amani Branch. As if having to grow up without her mother who died in childbirth, wasn’t bad enough, Amani is left to be raised by an abusive, drunk, Joe; her father. Live changed drastically from the cushioned life she had in the suburbs to the unpredictable life she had in the shelter. It wasn’t until Amani met Kyrie did her world really shake. Ky is well known in the streets of East New York. Being the son of Kendal Richards has its perks. Ky comes from a line of hustlers so the way of the streets runs deep in his blood. He was raised to get it by any means necessary and it was that very mentality that forced his path to cross with Amani’s. Them meeting causes a swift change in their lives but whether that change is good or bad, is what they set out to find out on their journey of Love, Retaliation & redemption. Will Kyrie end up letting Amani down or will things finally start to look up for her once she promised to love an East New York Killa?
My heart went out to Armani. No child should be abused by the hands of their parents. I was so glad when Ky came and took her out that environment and cared for her. Kayla played with fire and eventually got burned. How are you afraid of someone but still allow them to have power over you. Troy and Tyrese deserved all that was coming to them. Karma was coming at full force. Ky stepped up for Kyasia even tho the secret was out i still feel he should've told Armani. There were minor errors but i still enjoyed the read
This was a good standalone .. Amani endured a lot of pain in her life. It was sad because her father was the one to cause most of it. But in the end she still forgave him. I'm glad she took the time to listen to Kyrie about the baby. I was to through with him about keeping that from her. I'm glad they worked it out. And had a happy ending.
Joe took Amani through the ringer, I'm glad Kyrie was her saving grace even though at one point he had me so mad at him. Kayla.... Smh... she set her own demise in motion and got what she deserved. Overall this was a good read and I'm looking forward to her next release.
It was an okay read. Grammatical errors kind of threw me off. Kyrie could be an ahole at times. He did allnof that and he aint the pappy. Amani is better than me i just cant do it. Tyrese git what he deserved frfr. Kayla should have let it go. Git both of her friends killed.
First read by this author and I wasn't disappointed!!! I love how Kyrie literally loved Mani from the bottom.... I was real mad at Kayla for how she tried to get over... Good DRA and kept me interested!!!! Great job Talehia definitely wont be my last time reading from your catalog!!
This AUTHOR finds the core ,familiar places great characters with a STORYLINE that sizzles.... Yasss this well written fast paced takes had me flipping pages from the very first page I was all in never put it down ...From the petty ex with her TRIFLING vindictive was too the love blossoming between a kills and a down and out soul j loved it....OUT FREAKING STANDING
There is always sunshine after the rain. Amani definitely needed some sunshine after all she was going through. Kyrie became that sunshine. He wasn’t perfect but he he was there for her and built her up. Loved the story. I did take away one star for some errors.
This is a good one. Amani sure did have a rough life. Her father wasn’t ish abusing her and having her bleed the block. I’m glad she was able to forgive him and be motivated to do better and find love at the same time.
This was an excellent read. Ky pissed me off but I'm glad he told Amani the truth about Kyasia. Kyasia my not be biological theirs but I believe they love her just the same. Kayla should of just realized be wasn't that into her.
Awwwww I enjoyed reading about Amani and Kyrie. Kayla was so wrong but Karma got her back in so many ways. I don’t see why she was still with Tyrese after all he did to her. This is a must read. I loved it.
I enjoyed this book from start to finish. I felt so bad for Amani and the things she had to endure from her father. It was good Ky pushed her to do something to better her life but he made me so mad when he hurt her. Overall it was a good story.
Amani had a hard life. Joe was mean. Kyrie was wrong but he save her. Kayla I believe wanted money. Look how how she did her friend at club. Troy was the devil. Kyrie should have told Amani about the baby. I enjoyed reading this book.
I’m so happy i finally read this book it’s was everything I’m happy it worked out for the both of them Kayla had me so fooled i thought she really was going through some shit but she was a snake herself
This was definitely a knight and shining armor story! I loved how he knew Amani was Ms. Right and not Ms. Right Now! I didn't understand why he killed Yanny though. Kayla was foul but Kyrie and Amani did right by the baby! Love it!!!!
All the chaos but finding love in the mist unlikely place is heaven. Kyrie & Mani were so adorable. His thuggery ways buy sensitive heart was everything. I’m glad everything worked out to the end. Definitely recommended
Although there were a few errors, the storyline was good. With all that Amani had been through with her abusive father, once she was put in a better situation she was able to continue on with her education and find happiness with Kyrie.
This was a great love story. I loved Kyrie and Amani’s relationship. Most of he characters was like a close knit family. I can’t wait to read her next book.
For a first stand-alone the author has done a good job. Good Read that is well written even though the flow seems a little rushed. Some missing parts to the story but overall a good job.
Good read...and a stand alone..HEAVEN!! Can’t believe how sneaky Kayla was but then again I can. Ky should have been told Mani about the baby... over all good read
This book was ok I guess it really didn't have an interesting storyline and was just rushed. Then the fact that there were a bunch of grammatical mistakes was very annoying.
