From bestselling author Mickey Miller, a brand new, hot-as-hell standalone contemporary I don't need a man. I've figured that out pretty quickly after a string of bad dates. Every one, a disappointment. Either they want to use me, or I don't want to use them. Either way, I'm over it. But then my landlord shows up exactly when I need a man. And a drink. And maybe a second. So we make a deal. No sex for ten dates, which sounds easy. Despite the biceps bulging through his shirt. Despite the tattoos I desperately want to lick-- I mean, know more about. Despite the hunger in his eyes when he looks at me. No, it won't be easy. It'll be really. Really. Hard.
Hi, there! My name is Mickey Miller and I write sexy, fun romance with smart characters. My books are great if you're looking for a light-hearted, steamy read with some humor and a happy ending! Happy reading!
I have to admit I'm shocked by the number of positive reviews on this book. To me, this was porn on paper. This book was all about sex with a psycho ex-boyfriend in the mix. The ex story was bad enough, and I was ok with this book until the end. What happened at the end was the dumbest thing I've ever read. I won't spoil, despite the fact that I won't recommend this piece of crap. Not quite sure even why I finished this. Skip.
I am dumbfounded that this book has so many 4/5 star reviews! Did we read the same book? Better yet, have you ever read a good book?! It takes a lot for me to DNF a book, and I almost put this down multiple times, but somehow I suffered through it; but, just barely.
I feel like this has to be self-published, and better yet, seems like the author is in high school, and is writing fantasies about experiences they've never had, but think sound exciting and what people want to read. (Maybe this is due to the fact that his fan club following directed the plot? If so, they must be a group of 18 year olds too) I can suspend some rational thought when I read (since I'm reading for escapism anyway), but this book was just too much. There was no purpose to several scenes and key elements- again seem to be thrown in because "that's what's selling right now". Take it from someone who's read a few thousand books. If you're a remotely mature adult over 25 (heck, maybe even 21) skip it.
I'm not normally one to write a review other than a 3 to 5 stars & anything under are usually few & far between so I usually wouldn't bother because we all look for different things in books & what I don't like isn't the same for everyone.
But this book & all of it's 5 star reviews confuse me, I mean seriously did we all read the same book. Yes the sex is pretty hot but the story itself has so many flaws & inconsistencies that I didn't think I'd finish it! I mean for example the hero goes to all the trouble to chop tomatoes for the chilli they're cooking only for the heroine to put in a can of tomatoes. Oh & he has handcuffs on behind his back back manages to beat the crazy ex boyfriend until he's near dead then he takes off the hand cuffs. Oh & the heroine shows up in a strapless black dress to a night club after being kidnapped & then let go by her crazy ex boyfriend, to name but a few of the many inconsistencies.
When Mickey Miller writes a book his characters always has some kind of explosive chemistry rather they like one another at the start or not. Now here with Damien & Krista their chemistry was immediate and their love scenes were just off the charts hot. In order to find out what I mean by that, you have to purchase the book like right now. Another great read by my favorite male author ever!!!!
The story line seems easy enough. Krista is saved by Damien, is severely turned on by him (he happens to be her landlord) and they have a one-night stand. Then they both can't fight their attraction to each other. But everyone knows that one-night stands are not a great basis for a relationship. So they decide to have ten dates before they have fun in the sheets again. But we are thrown a curveball: Krista has a stalker - her ex-fiancee Nick. He does almost anything and everything to keep her from moving on. Can she shake Nick, along with all of the mental damage he has inflicted on her. Can Krista and Damien honestly own up to all of their secrets in order to form a lasting relationship?
All I can say is wow. What a wild ride. Hot fun, with some intriguing secrets and a little bit of suspense. I enjoyed this book, as was able to read it in one day. It is also interesting to point out that Mickey actually "co-wrote" this book with his readers. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!
Mickey Miller has written a hot and sexy story with drama, humor, suspense, jealousy, secrets, danger, passion, and plenty of steamy scenes. Ten Night Stand is one book that doesn't disappoint.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
This was so so good! Love the connection between Krista & Damien! Love the ten date, no sex deal Krista & Damien had some frustrating times throughout those ten dates, but when they got through them well hot dam! And the drama just added to the story! Fantastic ending!
“My heartbeat speeds up, adrenaline and the chemicals of love crashing through me.”
This was my absolute favorite line in a journey that I didn’t see coming. It was different from what I’ve become accustomed to whilst reading Mr. Miller’s works.
Damien and Krista’s story is a fast falling in lust to love ride that has the damnedest twists along the way. Axle and Amelia made me want to know more. I needed more. I think the quickness of the read left me wanting more. I can only hope there is more to this story. I wasn’t ready for it to end.
Ten Night Stand by Mickey Miller was a fun, sexy and steamy read! Krista and Damien’s chemistry is intense and I loved that this was a story that his reader group initially helped with.
Krista does not need a man. Nope, not after all the bad dates and letdowns she has experienced. Damien is her landlord and is sexy, strong and very protective. I loved their interactions. The had a strong connection and way with each other.
After a hot and steamy one-night stand, Krista and Damien make a deal for ten dates with no sex, it seems simple enough, right? They know one-night stands usually lead to nothing, so this way they can get to know each other. It was so much fun to see their journey
But it was not all fun and games! We also get a bit of suspense and drama as well that adds to their story. Ten Night Stand was a lot of fun to read. Sexy, steamy with great characters and a story that will pull you right in.
Within minutes of starting this book I’m holding my breath with what has happening to Krista, what a way to grab the reader’s attention. What I wouldn’t give to have a landlord like Damien, this man is strong confident and in control. This book is so much more then just romance, we have edge of your seat thrills when Nick gets involved. My eyes couldn’t read fast enough to see what was coming next. I adore the friendship shared between Axel and Damien these two crack me up then we have Krista and Amelia besties that are there for each other through it all. When these 4 get together nothing is off limits. Nick is sick and twisted in more ways then one and holy smokes do I NEVER want to come across anymore with his personality. Unbelievable read that just consumed me, I’ve read books by this author before but this is now ranking as one of my favorites to date. Highly recommend you grab your copy and start reading ASAP. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
This is my first read by this author and just might be my last. I wanted to give this book a two-star rating, but I did like the concept of the book, the cover is hot, and loved the blurb so I am going to go with a three-star.
First and foremost, this book needs some serious editing. The grammatical errors and typos are just too much and totally distracted me from getting into the story. I was a highlight fool while reading this book, here are some examples….trust me…there are plenty in the book.
"Come to think of it, why you don't drink with your tenants, Damien?” “I want the to feel her touch so badly.” “Love it,” I manage to say. Because when she she presses her breasts into my legs, I lose it.” “I lean my head back on the seat in the middle of our red-eye flight from Chicago to Panama City—theis closest big city to La Boca del Toro.” “I want to pick her up right now, throw her into a fireman carry, and haul her off tino the woods and make love until the sun goes down.”
Yes, I do understand that this book is a work of fiction, but this story is so unrealistic that rolling my eyes was a common occurrence. While Damien and Krista have the hot chemistry I love in a book, this whole “we need ten dates first to in order to get to know each other before we can have sex", was lacking from the start. Now maybe it’s just me, but I though oral sex was sex so their own rule was broken pretty quickly. Also, in the first few chapters they did have sex…and then after the ten dates were up Krista was worried that his big huge c*** wouldn’t fit. Ummmm sure it would, you already had sex with him. That is just one of the many inconsistencies you will find in this story.
It would be even better if the author would go back and fix all the boo boo’s and re-publish. This is just an honest opinion, but I an glad a grabbed it as a freebie and not paid $3.99 for it. Totally not worth that price.
I’m good with the instalove thing and can typically suspend reality for even the craziest instalove...but this one was a bit much for me. From the start the story seemed to be missing pieces. I felt like it started four chapters in, but the first four chapters were missing. Krista seems to be a flighty headcase, while Damien seems to be an overbearing brute. Opposites attracting also works for me, but these two didn’t. Everything about their relationship felt forced. The relationship developed at warp speed causing a severe case of whiplash...then throw in the “challenge” and I was done. This was my first book by this author, so I’m sure I’ll be more cautious going into her next book...if I get that far.
Overall, not all that thrilled with this read. To me it was on the meh side and the fact that it took two days to read, which is far beyond my time limit, irked me. Wasn’t the worst that I’ve ever read, but some parts were hard to get through considering the normal caliber of authors I flock to. I liked the concept of this, but there were a few things that just seemed to forced and far fetched. It’s worth the attempt, but this goes down as one book by a male author that seems like its forcing the sexual aspect too much. May try another book and hope for better.
Krista’s had some rotten luck with men in the past and things don’t seem to be looking up by the string of terrible first dates she’s just been on. She’s over it and ready to be single for awhile . . . that is until her crazy hot landlord shows up just when she needs a big and strong man more than ever.
Damien doesn’t date his tennents. But when Krista offers him a drink after he saves her from a would-be mugging, he can’t seem to say no. He also can’t control the off the charts chemistry they seem to have. Rules are made to be broken, right?
After one hot and steam night, both Damien and Krista know they want more. But real relationships never come from one night stands. So, they make a deal . . go on ten dates to really get to know one another before having sex again. It won’t be easy, but it will definitely be worth it.
Both Krista and Damien have pasts and secrets however that seem to keep popping up between them. Damien has a personal reason to truly hate violence against women, and Krista has a crazy ex that seems to be stalking her. If they want to make it past their ten dates, they are going to need to work through their baggage and come clean with one another so they can have the chance at real happiness.
What seems like a book that should really be all fluff ended up having some real grit. Ten Night Stand deals with some heavy topics that added depth to the storyline. Both Krista and Damien are likable characters but both have secrets they are hiding for fear it will chase the other away . . . much like a real life relationship. Their secrets, however, can be deadly.
Mickey Miller did a great job of maintaining a very high heat level throughout this book while interweaving it with suspense. 4 stars.
Absolutely Loved this story , with the exception of a few scenes .. #1 Why would Damien follow him instead of calling the police knowing she is waiting why not set him up with a tape of their own to prove to the police . Something !!!
#2 Why would she leave the hospital to go to the club . When just minutes before he told her he would be at the hospital. Even in the scene she is telling herself that Nick told her he has stalked their phones. That it didn’t make sense . Yet she goes in there removes her clothes & waits even when instinct is telling her something is off.
#3 She was just threatened & her family , she finds out he has listened to everything & knows all ... yet she takes off to meet Damien not knowing if Nick is following her .
#4 Plus she thinks Damien wants sex right at the CLUB .
So you mean to tell me that two of the smartest characters walk right into a trap & lose all Commonsense.
The way it played was great they win !!!!
But it truly made the characters lose appeal at the end. No one goes from having great instincts to ignoring them in just a short span of time .
I never criticize that much in my reviews . But this scenario kinda drove me crazy .
Other than the ending I loved the story up to that point . Swoon worthy . So the ending doesn’t match the beginning of the thought out dialogue.
Mickey Miller has hit another one right out of Wrigley Field with 10 Night Stand! And it is that much more amazing because he "co-wrote" this story with the assistance of his reader/fan group, Mickey's Misfits. Following suggestions from his readers, this book unfolded, chapter by chapter, and the result is 10 Night Stand, a thrilling story with crazy exes, BFFs, humor, jealousy, secrets, suspense, passion, and romance. Damien rescues Krista from an attacker outside her apartment after she has endured yet another ho-hum date. It turns out that both Damien and Krista have been checking out the other surreptitiously, both unwilling to make any move. Damien is Krista's landlord and uses that as the reason to not cross any lines with his tenant. Krista has been badly burned in her last relationship. But the chemistry is undeniable and after an explosive night together, they decide to back away from sex and get to know one another over a series of 10 dates. Both must resolve trust issues and divulge secrets. As they forge connections with each other, danger lurks around every corner until a stunning, surprising conclusion. Even though they wait 10 dates, this is, after all, a Mickey Miller romance, so expect plenty of Kindle-melting, hot, passionate sex scenes. Mickey's writing keeps getting better and better and he's on my (very) short list of one-click authors. One-click your copy today!!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This was one awesome book that is full of intrigue, love, lust, and a stalker. From the very first page I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with them—or not. Krista and Damien’s story was created from Mickey Miller’s Misfit group—what a great story! Damien is hot as hell, handsome, and full alpha, but he is also Krista’s landlord. Krista has had a string of bad dates, and she feels they only want to use her. When Krista was about to enter her apartment building from another bad date, she was almost attacked, but Damien rescued her. After Damien saved Krista’s life, this exuded an attraction by both that turned into a one-night stand. The chemistry was prevalent amongst Krista and Damien, but in order to maybe have a relationship, they agreed to date ten times before having sex again. Before a relationship can continue, they will have to divulge any secrets and baggage—there is definitely one being Krista’s ex-boyfriend, Nick. Is there a secret that Krista is hiding from Damien and the reason why she and Nick broke up? Are there any secrets that Damien is withholding from Krista? The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. This story will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end. I don’t want to give away too much, but this is a definite MUST READ!
Ten Night Stand is one of my favorite Mickey Miller book, coz being one of his Misfits group and being part of creating this awesome novel was enjoyable. I Damien and Krista's relationship is one hell of a ride. It's like a roller coaster kinda ride and the ending I didn't expect it!
It started Damien Saving Krista from a attacker and ended up on a One Night Stand then enter the Crazy Ex. Damien knew that Nick not just a crazy ex. Krista kinda annoyed me at first coz like her best friend Amelia, I don't like weak heroines and I'm more on strong ones but I give Krista a benefit of doubt. After that they deal with Ten Nights without sex. Kinda weird thing to deal but hey, it's a good thing. To know each other and I love the deal. The Magic Mike kinda thing with Dazzling Damien, the ex, their erotic and teasing adventures in every date, the infamous Chili and more! The story goes by and I love it more. I love also the characters like Amelia, Axel and Nick! Oh, Nick the crazy ex! He really makes me think of anything to kill him in the book! lol! This book is mixed with Romance, erotic, Suspense, Comedy and Dark elements. I love it on how Mickey write the whole story along with us, the misfits. The ending I didn't expect it! I really hope that Amelia and Axe got a story as well.
TEN NIGHT STAND - is jaw-dropping hot and keeps you hooked until the end. This story is filled with humor, spine-chilling suspense, emotional and life-threatening moments, true friendship, jealousy, secrets, and fiery passionate romance.
Krista is a beauty who is now wary of having a relationship. Damien is gorgeous with a bad boy side. Both have secrets and a haunted past. A one night stand leaves them hungry for each other but they make a deal to get to know each other better. Ten full dates holding back their need but how they get to that tenth date and their forever is quite a whirlwind story.
EXCITING INTOXICATING READ which had my undivided attention until the fantastic conclusion. Facing danger brings Krista and Damien closer; totally devoted and perfect for each other. I enjoyed their backstories as they give the reader much insight into their lives. What is also fabulous about this captivating story is that Mickey's Misfits had a hand in helping with it. If you enjoy fiery romance this is a great book for your library. I found this to be a most entertaining read so {I reviewed an advanced copy and bought the book too.} Without reservations, I recommend this read.
Ten Night Stand is another phenomenal read from Mickey Miller.
He "co-wrote" this story with the his reader fan group, Mickey's Misfits. Following suggestions at the end of each chapter from his readers, chapter by chapter it unfolded into a extraordinary story full of crazy exes, jealousy, secrets, humor and extremely hot passion and chemistry. Krista and Damien both have their secrets and past to overcome but they have been admiring each other from afar since he is her landlord, until one hot night leaves them both wanting alot more than just one night. They know starting a relations ship from a one night hook up will most likely not lead anywhere so they decide to give it ten dates with no sex so they can try and form something real and stable to build upon. The story will lead you thru ups and downs along the way. I love Mickey Miller is able to write a story that is so full of suspense, passion and humor. There is never a dull moment in the book and you will be hooked until the end. I know I could not put it down, and even once it was done I still wanted more.I Highly recommend you grab your copy and start reading ASAP, Mickey will not disappoint you.
This book started out good but towards the end the there were to many mistakes that had me rereading things to see if I had missed something. There parts in the scenes that didn't make sense. The writers would say one thing in part of the scene and then in the other part of the same it was something different. It reminded me like in the movie scenes when an Actor would have on a blue tie and the next thing you know they're wearing a red tie. The scenes just weren't consistent.
There is another element of the book that didn't make sense. Once again towards the end of the book, Krista the main female characters does stuff that is just stupid. Krista was just attacked, called Damian, he said he's on his way to her. Then she receives a text from him saying to meet her at some club. And she just goes. The writers show that she's conflicted with whether this is a set up or if it's something romantic, but she goes. She was just attacked! Why would this be romantic in any way. I liked her character up until this part of the story.
**Ten Night Stand** - 3🌟 So I read this story some time ago but I recently got a new book by Mickey Miller and wanted to get reacquainted with the the authors writing. And while I like the concept, breaking the "curse" of a one night stand. And having crazy ex's and 'secrets' are all apart of the dating scene, but I didn't feel this crazy connection with the characters. BUT the sex was off the charts!!! (P.S. I attach myself to characters and minor details stand out to me. That being said Krista's eyes changed from blue to brown to blue again in the book)
**Playing Dirty** - 4🌟 While I read the previous book before, I didn't continue on with the bonus book. And I definitely should've. I enjoyed Jake and Andrea's journey. Nothing seemed forced and their connection I felt. Messed up ex's seem to be a common theme in Miller's stories. But I almost didn't read this book from the cover alone. Sometimes it does make a big difference, but this was worth the read.
This book is kind of like dating in reverse. No sex for ten dates...Should be easy right? Well you’re about to find out! Krista is a nurse, has a weird and freaking ex fiancé who just won’t leave her alone! Damian is a hot tattooed landlord who will do anything to protect Krista! The chemistry between these two characters is scorching! I could feel the tension of every single date they went on!
This book is full of drama, anticipation, and action. You won’t be able to put it down. I loved Damian’s character. I loved how determined her was, how possessive he could be and how he would drop anything just to help those in need. I didn’t see the twists of the last few chapters coming at all! But they were really great! I love how Mickey went a little dark with this one, I really enjoyed it. I wouldn’t mind seeing another story from the depths of a certain island and it’s keeper! This is another hit from Mickey you do not want to miss!
Interesting idea. We had the one night stand...now what? What to do when the one night stand was amazing but maybe you don't want it to end. On the other hand, you don't want just a continuation of that (though the sex was AMAZING!) . You want more, but how do you hit rewind? Damien and Krista decide to have 10 dates - no sex. Learn more about each other because they already know the chemistry is explosive. I thought this was a very crafty plot. The characters do sizzle. There is fun, flirting (definitely hot sex), and teasing (between them AND both of their awesome BFFs). There is the learning to open up and to trust in a developing relationship - finding a way to understand and accept another's secrets and idiosyncrasies. There is drama - oh is there DRAMA! And, well, there is Damien! Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Go ahead give it a try!
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review
It was my first time reading anything by this particular author. While reading I did catch some editing errors, which is a tad bit of a turn off. I liked the story overall and the ending fallout - well let's say someone really did get what was coming to them. There was something about the tense of the point of view that seemed off to me. I don't know why. I was wondering if it was just the author's style, but after finishing "Ten Night Stand" I continued with "Playing Dirty" which was included in my Kindle edition. It read much differently to me and not so awkward.
I think the point of view of "Ten Night Stand" would be considered First Person Present Tense - which I'm not thrilled with. "Playing Dirty" seems like it's in First Person Past Tense. I think. Whatever the case, the POV seemed odd to me. But I took a chance on "Playing Dirty" and I'm definitely interested in checking out more of Mickey's work and luckily I have "Mechanic with Benefits" on my Kindle.
Ten Night Stand was a sexy, saucy romp between Damien and Krista. They both started off lusting for each other, but to their surprise it developed into much more. Damien is Krista's landlord and he has desired her from afar. But starting a relationship was off the table as he would be breaking all his rules of getting involved with a tenant. But Damien was a rule breaker by heart and he was willing to throw caution to the wind for Krista. There is a fly in the ointment by the name of Nick, Krista's ex. He is obsessed with Krista and refuses to let her go.
Krista and Damien decide to cool their jets with each other and make a pact to go on 10 dates without sex to get to know each other besides physically. I felt their agony as they try to keep their hands off of each other. A true test of willpower. This story had everything. Romance, steamy sex, humor, suspense and action. Well done Mickey.
