Why would Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, say that the world, especially Catholics, need to read this story of redemption? Why would he claim that Transfigured is one of the most powerful conversion stories ever written? Because Patricia Sandoval’s life story is an unusually gripping, hard-to-put-down ride along a journey that leads to an extraordinary triumph of God’s mercy—the mercy that waits patiently for all of us. Patricia came from a broken home, good and bad boyfriends, three abortions, a job at Planned Parenthood (where she was told never to reveal what she saw), followed by methamphetamine addiction and homelessness. The way that Jesus came to her in the streets will leave you breathless, as will the heights to which God has since carried her. If you know of someone who believes they cannot be forgiven, or return to Church, this is the book to give them. (Watch the video of reader comments below.) Read Transfigured. Be Transfigured. Patricia now travels the world as a pro life speaker, sharing her story with millions in packed stadiums and on radio and television shows, such as EWTN’s Bookmark, Life on the Rock, Women of Grace, At Home with Jim and Joy; and in Spanish, on EWTN’s Cara a Cara, Nuestro Fe en Vivo, Ellas lo Dicen—and now on her own show with Fr. Víctor Salomó De Dos en Dos. Transfigured, endorsed by Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, and Bishop Michael C. Barber, has been translated into Spanish (Transfigurada) and French (Transfigurée). Patricia Sandoval's story is available, as well, on a critically acclaimed, life-changing DVD, as seen on EWTN. If you struggle with being "pro-choice" , as opposed to pro-life, you need to read this beautiful life story. If you don't come away with a real love of life, all life, then you have allowed your heart to become hardened to beauty and truth! Go to your room and ask God to open your heart to truth, then read this book!
This an unbelievably beautiful book. It is a true story about a young woman who has met a lot of life‘s challenges and come out transformed. It can give you hope and bring you closer in your walk with the Lord!
This is a very raw and graphic tale of a young woman's downward spiral into abuse, the occult, drug addiction, abortions, and homelessness. The first half of the book is quite difficult to stomach and read but it is purposeful. It is also a tale of mercy, redemption and a glimmer of hope. It is after failing to escape her dungeon of sin that Patricia Sandoval turns to our Lord, Christ Jesus. She also learns about spiritual warfare. The heart of the book focuses on her rebirth and eventual ministry are by the hand of the Lord. Throughout her sojourn, Patricia must slay the demons afflicting her, her weaknesses, the generational curse hanging over her head like a Sword of Damocles, and her own self-destructive nature. Her journey becomes united with her only true love, our Lord Jesus Christ. The first person narrative style makes this a personal journey. This is handled with love by the co-author Christine Watkins. The authors also include scripture throughout a statistical anecdotal section at each chapter's end. I was heartfully consumed by this tale and highly recommend this book.
I definitely would’ve read this faster had I not had lots going on. But it’s a great read about how trusting in the Lord will always do good in your life. And that no matter how low you get you are never completely alone!!
This story was hard breaking and rather tough to get through. The content is difficult for those that are privileged and have never had to deal with poverty, drugs, or unwanted pregnancies. So thankful that this story was told. Gave me hope and believing in miracles all over again. God’s mercy truly endures.
I do not want to praise this book so much as praise the God that took an unbelievably depressing situation and turned it into something beautiful. I appreciate how the author notes biblical wisdom before each chapter in her life story and why things went wrong and what God thinks about how we can make better choices. My view on the abortion issue changed after reading some of the problems in the environment and with people due to the sexual revolution. Some of the facts cited in this book, for example, about how 98% of women who have abortions have mental health issues, and that Poland was able to reduce its abortions by 99% have shown me more and more that abortion is the result of selfishness, and is not necessary, even in a very populated world. One thing I think can be dangerous for the reader, though, is her experience with God "preparing the ONE" for her and all of these visions and people telling her about the ONE, and that she only needed to wait and then her prince showed up. I am very happy if that was her experience, but this is maybe something that should not be shared or it should be stated very carefully that this is NOT the norm or to be expected, as this is not the experience of most people and sharing this might lead others to expect this special treatment which can cause an incredible amount of disillusionment, heartache, and unwillingness to try. In my experience, I stomped on hearts, had mine destroyed, waited, cried, dated and dated, and prayed and prayed and prayed and never had that "experience" after 10 years, and just ultimately chose to stay in a compatible relationship. We have worked and put God first and chosen our marriage, but it was not a magical thing that I just KNEW or just needed to wait around for. Looking back, there were relationships that God set before me, but I never had that "experience" and so I did not try and ended up not pursuing them, and lived with regret. It is important to use wisdom rather than SIGNS and wonders and pick an appropriate partner that believes in the same truths and stick with it. That is my only concerning part of the book. Overall, I highly recommend this book.
What a wonderful testimony to the grace of God. And what a clear portrayal of the suffering, broken, occupied world in which it comes to us. The two go together and the anomalies of life cannot be endured without an understanding of both of them. God gives us the real layout: the GOODNESS of creation and created things - ALL of them. Satan and the demonic explain how suffering is grafted into life so seamlessly that it seems inseparable from it. This is something that has robbed many good, thinking people of their faith: David Attenborough and David Marr, to name just two. This deeply moving account enables us to appreciate the visceral reality of the perfect goodness of God and the horrendous evil of the Satanic revolt that eats at it from within. Our tradition explains it perfectly but somehow these days it gets forgotten or simply ignored. God is utterly and triumphantly good, but we are fallen creatures having been seduced by the angelic rebel, and so have lost our intuitive knowledge and love and awareness of the creator. Patricia’s story in its wonderful mix of glory and misery, beauty and horror recalls the tradition and gives real palpable life to it: the amazing goodness and glory of God, and the heartbreaking unfairness and insidious repulsiveness of the Satanic occupation become tangible in this courageous account. Thanks to Patricia and to God!!!
Really wonderful book. This shows that true happiness can only be found in God. Jesus keeps calling and touching our lives even when we do not acknowledge him. He will rescue all the more with this witness. What a horror abortion and the great cover up of all details to the unsuspecting public. Praise Jesus for rescuing Patricia.
I've listened to her testimony several times & it has touched my heart every time. I am against abortion, human sex trafficking :& pornography. I am glad I didn't get an abortion bcuz my heart would have been scarred too. With over 65 million babies murdered in the USA alone, that should wrench anyone's heart! There are so many children that have disappeared thru human sex trafficking into pornography, prostitution, slavery & Satan worshipping. The body of Christ is NOT doing enuf to protect God's children! They DON'T even talk about it behind the pulpits! Many vote according to what they think is right for the women & DON'T vote according to what the Bible says!!! They will have to stand before God Almighty some day & give account of them going against His word!
Have heard the concersion story of Patrica on Youtube many times, but after reading her novel, I learnt so much more about God's great mercy. Thus, love this most powerful book of God's Mercy, and how he showed it to a ture Sinner, whom was caught up in drugs, and aborted 3 babies, and so much more darkness blocked the love of God from her heart like working for Planned Parenthood. A must read for everyone to know how God, the Father loves all his Children, even the greatest of Sinners. As, every sin and evil can be overcome when one comes to God, and lay down your heart to him.
So, please find a copy, or hear Patrica's coversion story over Youtube, as it will change your life, and all those around it!
A story of the painful effects of abortion and it’s many negative consequences on a young woman who struggles for more than a decade because of it. The author, Patricia Sandoval, brings us along with her on the trauma of her life due to the hidden effects of her past abortions. Her story though ends up telling us about the beauty of God’s healing mercy and how God wove people of faith into her life to help bring about her healing. And then, wow, how God takes her to become an advocate for life and provides her joy and fulfillment that she eloquently shares : a joy so powerful that you’re drawn in emotionally to feel her joy!
I can not relate to the authors story because I have never had or have been involved in an a abortion however the story that Patricia displayed is more than just a conversion from pro-choice to pro-life. Patricias story has to do with love! Love from family, friends, romantic relationships and love from the world ultimately does not fill our fragile hearts but love from Jesus not only satisfies the hunger for love but also transforms us to be givers of authentic love. The one thing that radiates from her story is the desire to be loved and that right there is universal and why you should definitely read this book.
Ms Sandoval hides nothing of her gut-wrenching journey from fear and loneliness to joy and trust in the Lord. Hers is a story of encouragement for our sad, disoriented times—a tale of triumph to strengthen those of us fighting through this “valley of tears”. You will be blessed in reading this lovely, heart-breakingly honest book. ( I just wish the author had told us more about “the man in the blue suit”!)
I couldn’t put down this book. As someone who has had an abortion and knows the long lasting traumatic emotional effects of that choice her words of encouragement and strength to share her story to be the voice who have none I wish every teen and young single person would read this book. I am a counselor at a teen pregnancy center and this was confirmation that God has me where he wants me to be to help spread the word about pro-choice.
Patricia has many mystical moments that can give a sense of doubt, however, by the end of the book, you simply cannot question its veracity, her mission is big, with an incredible impact on evils work, the spiritual warfare is real and clear in this book. Very nicely formatted as it has testimony, scripture and statistics. Another positive factor in this book is the profound healing power it can bring to people that have had a direct experience with abortion.
I had divorce in my family and abuse. Carried into my life also. Used birth control of several forms. I bought into many things in my life but birth control was the reason of a premature birth and inability to have more. The lies of the enemy and science I fully bought into. This has brought understanding, repentance and healing. Not just for women.
I agree 100% with her prolife/chastity message. The book was written almost like diary/journal entries with scripture at the end. I would have preferred one coherent story. I felt uncomfortable towards the end of the book when she gives a talk and says she changed these people's lives and so on. I would have preferred the actual first person testimony of those people. Towards the end, she keeps mentioning God has said He will give her a husband in a blue suit. I was waiting for that to happen but the book just ends abruptly.
I have never read a story of triumph over adversity like this one! Being able to glimpse the interior life of a drug addict , and watch as all that is lost is found..... Well, the love, mercy and forgiveness of God is bigger, stronger and more real than I ever knew! Thank you Patricia Sandoval for your honesty!
This book is a wonderful testimony of how God can work miracles in a person's life, of His mercy and forgiveness and the true redemption Patricia has found in her life. It's a real page turner and a must read. I've laughed and cried (a lot of healing tears) throughout her wonderful honest biography. She is a true inspiration and servant of God.
This is an amazing and impactful story that I recommend to absolutely EVERYONE. Patricia Sandoval’s story is heartbroking, moving, inspiring, and motivating. Anyone can relate to at least a single aspect of Sandoval’s story. I hope that its readers are inspired to speak out against injustice and become a voice for those whom cannot speak for themselves, and seek out Jesus’ Divine Mercy.
An amazing testimony to the reality of Redemption and God's mysterious Mercy in our lives. If only humanity Would take the invitation this testimony offers, the world would be a very different place. God's Forgiveness is His Justice; His Justice i s His Forgiveness . . .
Oh my goodness what a book. I have always been pro life
And have stood outside of planned parenthood praying With other people to stop abortion. Patricia 's courage to tell her story is unbelievable. The souls and babies she has saved by telling her story is Wonderful. I learned so much from her book and I thank her for writing it.
This stunning testimony touched my heart in a unique way. I am unmistakably and unapologetically pro-life, but it is not my life's mission, so I wasn't sure how this story would effect me if at all. Patricia's testimony covers so many different topics however. It is a story of redemption!
Such an inspirational story, it was very well written I was never confused at any point as to what was going on. Love the fact that this is a modern story; I believe everyone can relate to it in some way shape or form no matter how small. Truly eye-opening and heartfelt.
This book really is hard to put down! It isn't your typical conversion story - Patricia's struggles are so human. And everything wasn't perfect all overnight. Her story has pieces of all of us in it. Such a great and worthwhile read.
I finished this amazing story in one day. I read it only because my mom kept nagging me about and I'm really happy I did. It was beautifully written and showed the true horrors of abortion and addiction. Plus it was just extremely entertaining. 10/10 recommend to literally everyone.
Read in one day. Amazing testimony of God’s presence, love and mercy. Miraculous visits and messages amidst a very flawed and human life of this young woman. When she let God take the wheel, that’s when true miracles happened.
