Branchfield University is in turmoil, and a rich, exhibitionistic co-ed, Barbara Letchworth, is kidnapped, possibly with her cooperation, as part of the student protests. Meanwhile, scholarly Brian is continuing his policy of non-involvement with everyone, including his fellow-teacher Michael downstairs, who has been having an affair with Barbara. When it turns out that she was kidnapped in earnest, Michael goes on the run, leaving his responsible, and beautiful, sister Lorna to pick up the pieces, as always. But Lorna suspects that there's more to the kidnapping than someone's desire for ransom; someone seems to be more set on punishing Michael than anything else.
