Captured Freedom
Roberto, a forty year old Cuban American family man returns to Cuba for the first time since childhood to meet with his relatives and perhaps to discover something about his own roots.
He's vehemently patriotic and embellishes his relatives and their neighbors with stories about the greatness of America. They love his tales; the local authorities do not.
He is arrested and thrown in jail on charges of "enticing a revolution and attempting to overthrow the Cuban government", ridiculous charges even by Castro's standards, but nonetheless real.
Miles, his friend back in the states is a charter pilot who, although normally mild mannered to a fault, experiences a perfect storm of emotions when he hears of Roberto's arrest. He decides to take the over-simplified solution of flying a single engine seaplane down to Cuba in order to rescue his friend. Miles is not a commando by any means, and goes about proving it every step of the way, right up until his own arrest...
