Someone wants Honor McBride dead, but the mother of five children is determined to outwit the killer. With only her smarts and a GPS system, she and her kids head for Tanner Hollow where they arrive to claim the home left to Honor by her great aunt. A flat tire right in the middle of Main Street brings Eli Murphy to the rescue. Silently, he admits he's attracted to the single mother, but Eli has no intention of acting on that attraction. However, when someone tries to kill Honor, his protective instincts surge and Eli determines to keep the young mother and her family safe—while keeping guard over his heart. Even though Honor appreciates his help and finds herself falling for the gentle giant, she has secrets that could get them all killed--unless she can beat the killer at his game of cat and mouse.

I really liked the angle of the hero of a suspense story being a bivocational pastor/banker rather than the usual military or police guy. And Honor having a big family was a fun plus. While there were a number of missing commas that distracted me from the story, the ending was just so sweet! I think I liked this one best out of the whole series.
Lethal Secrets by Lynette Eason is a captivating read from the start. The danger is heart-pounding, the action is quick paced, and the romance is hot. I was sucked in deep. The writing is so good, I could not stop reading nor did I want the book to end. I felt both rewarded and punished because the book was easy to read and I finished it too soon. However, this is yet one more novella after this one. My loss of finishing too quickly evaporated fast. I was excited that this journey was not over yet.
In Lethal Secrets, the writer introduced the protagonists and their problems from the beginning. I knew exactly what was happening. I felt the dread in my stomach for what they were going through and knowing it would not be over yet. A young single mother of five children is forced to leave the home they once knew. Her husband was not a good man and he was in debt. There was such a huge amount, the husband and his surviving parents, targeted her and the kids.
Money speaks volumes. Greed knows no bounds. Danger was everywhere.
Without a lot of cash, and the little they had, the mother brought her kids to Tanner Hollow. I loved this small-town. The residents were amazing! Lynette Eason can not only create perfect big characters, but also create perfect smaller characters. This town, accepted and stepped right up to the plate to help the mother and her kids. However, danger follows them to their new chance at a safe life. All hell broke lose, and nothing can stop this mama nor the man she has come to rely on for help, Eli.
This book pulled on so many of my heart strings. Happy, sad, and fun...this novella was outstanding. Well-developed characters, the plot was entertaining, and the story settings felt so real. Overall, I highly recommend this read to all readers.
I received this copy from the publisher. This is my voluntary review.
Secrets can be deadly! Someone wants Honor McBride and her five children dead. In order to keep herself and her children safe she loads them all in her car and heads for Tanner Hollow to claim the home left to her by her great aunt. But before she gets to the house she has a flat tire right in the middle of Main Street. Thankfully Eli Murphy comes to the rescue. Even though he is attracted to the single mother he has no intention of acting on that attraction. He's been there and done that with a hurtful outcome. However, when he discovers someone is trying to kill Honor, his protective instincts take over. Trying to ignore their attraction to each other proves to be pointless. Discovering who is trying to kill her will come as a shock. Eli, Honor and her children get a new beginning at becoming a family.
I really really really liked this one. The main characters were so well-written, and the kids are just adorable. The Christian elements were also good, and I enjoyed the character development. There wasn't as much suspense in this one, but it was nice to see previous characters from #1 and #2, and learn more about the little town and people of Tanner Hollow.
This is a sweet story with nice characters and setting and suspense. It's well told but too unrealistic for me to give it more than 3 or 3.5 stars. Still, it's a fast, pleasant read.
What an excellent story. And way to go, Honor. What a courageous lady. And what fortunate children, to have a mom like her. What a fortunate family to find someone like Eli!!!!! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!
The third novella in the Tanner Hollow series, and just as good as the two previous books. Love the characters, and the way the author weaves romance in with the suspense.
Beautifully written. The main characters were a little different than most books. The guys was a banker and part time fill in pastor, and the lady was a single mom of 5 kids. Different, but absolutely loved the story!
Honor has secrets and five children makes and interesting story of how she outwits a killer. She has inherited a house in Tanner Hollow, is that what he wants.
I enjoyed this book. It kept my attention, and as a result I had a hard time when my work breaks ended. The ending was a surprise. I loved the different personalities of the kids.
Honors love for her children is the best part of this book by far. All through this novella, we see her undying love for her children and her willingness to give her life if need be so that her children could live the long happy life that she never had as a child. As we read through the book we see Eli's love for the children and Honor grown to the point where he sees them as his own. This is my favorite one of this series so far and shall enjoy reading again when the time comes!
