Quincy Westbrooke has been in the dating game long enough to know exactly what he's looking for in a tall, attractive, long hair, intelligent, no kids, independent, and most of all, drama free! His perfect criteria is thrown out the window when he meets Paige Michaels.

"No" isn't a word that Charysse Westbrooke is used to hearing from anyone, but now it seems to be a part of her brother's vocabulary, and she thinks it's because of Paige, the new woman in his life, and she ain't having it.

Paige Michaels is living the good life and loving it. Her plate is too full with her job, her daughter, her friends, and her new man to even be worried about her ex-boyfriend or his new wife. Find out what happens when Paige is confronted with a mix of friends, family, her baby daddy, her baby daddy's family, his friends, his sister, and all kinds of issues in between. It doesn't take long before the drama rises to the next level.

I read “Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda,” in February and I was impressed with how hard Paige Michaels tried to keep her business to herself. As soon as I saw “Too close for comfort,” was the sequel, I almost broke my finger ordering it. Paige has seemingly settled into her new normal with her new man, but Celeste is still unwell. We get to find out all about her friends, their men and their entrepreneurial skills in this one.

La Jill Hunt’s characters are so fun and relatable to me. Real “Living Single,” and “ Girlfriends,” vibes. Like they are grown but haven’t completely matured, so their mistakes are more like tendencies and their tendencies just make them authentic . It’s a whole new book, but Paige STILL runs head first into drama by withholding random information. This lady will haul off on somebody, then they all have a good laugh about it. I had to look up the right word for Celeste and I swear she is “morose.” I picture her as Eyore from Winnie the Pooh. Ya Ya is also a little off.

The nostalgic vibes is the only thing I liked about this book . The characters were ALL over the place even the ones that I came close to liking disappointed me . Camille deserved to be not written about at all !!! Who makes choices like her -____-

I took away a star because of that damn trip with diesel at the end. I didn’t see the point of that. Like why was that even relevant?

Yaya was annoying and that scene of her busting out a dance move at her shop for Fits was lame AF it reminded me of a corny dance scene in a dance movie 😂

This was a great book. Ya Ya is unfortunately one of the ditziest characters ever. She was easily influenced, and it was weird at times.

Boiling Over

Too Close for Comfort is a fitting title especially since we're back to the drama at hand with the crew from Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda. Yes, the endless enigma, charisma and DRAMA, which La Jill Hunt is bountiful with, are in full effect.

Paige and Quincy look as if they can be moving into the serious stages of a relationship. That is if they can keep the haters out of their business. But, maybe there is something to all of these accusations. Could it be that Marlon and Paige have some unfinished business? If it were you, what would you believe your ears or your eyes?

Too Close for Comfort boils over with challenges, acceptances, fake friendships, lying mates, and a broken families. As always readers were graced with a visit from some of the memorable original characters.

Definitely what I've come to expect from La Jill Hunt- I got very much involved with this book. The characters were all so easy to relate to, I was definitely hating on Celeste and her raggedy ol' mom! LOL Definitely recommend!

Imma need La Jill Hunt to come out of retirement and write another Paige and Quincy story. I LOVED them and want to know what happened with their relationship. Did they stay together? Did they get married and have children? Did Marlon try to get Paige back?

As usual the story is filled with drama. The only half-way desent character in the story is Paige the librarian.
