“Everything isn’t always what is seems.” Juvie had heard the coined phrase more than a few times in his twenty-four years of living; only this time he actually felt what the words meant. Everything was worse. The shooting of his brother, Ra, has pushed he and Solai’s already rocking relationship to the edge. Juvie doesn’t know who he can trust, and makes that very clear. A threat to end it all puts no fear in Solai, as she makes the decision for herself. But, what’s a girl to do when the compromising position she’s placed in, is not only detrimental to her sanity, but the man she has fallen for as well? Brokenhearted and lonely, Tesh has no one to heal her wounds anymore. Praying that God shows her a way out of her abusive relationship, she can’t help but wonder what would have happened if she left sooner, became her own strength and listened to Ra when she had the chance. Just when she’s at the peak of her testimony, she discovers a hindering secret that makes everything she fought for a losing battle. Friends… the word is so broad; it can no longer be used within their union. Anika, Krew, Harvey and Aunyae all enjoyed watching Juvie and Solai’s reconnection, all while building their own relationships. Though built over years, a relationship can’t withstand a shaky environment without a solid foundation. Just as quickly as it was created, is just as quick as it will tumble, leaving them to question if what they have is worth saving and starting over. In the second installment of Juvie & Solai: A Hood Love Story, readers will embark upon a story so beautifully told, that even when the ugly truths are revealed, they will be begging for more. Life as this group of friends knew it, has been flipped upside down and they can only hope to stick a perfect landing.

Wow the ending had my mouth open lol.... I absolutely loooooove Harvey and Aunyae!!! I wish the whole book was just about them and their little family ❤ I don't like Anika 🤷🏿♀️ she plays too many games and I didn't like how she was moving with krew. He had every right to try and move on, as for him and Paige.... Move on girl! I still don't like Tesh lol love Ra though!! Juvie and Solai are cute or whatever but Juvie plays way too many games! Onto part 3!
These endings!!!!!! I felt like something was up with O when Juvie kept saying something was odd with her in the last book, but I thought we were past it!!! Tremaine's last words had a whole lot of meaning now... he was a certified hater. Lawwwwwd.
This book paced a little slow for me. Juvie and Solai got back on track. He chose up, but I didn't understand why he was holding O for hostage. He still irritated me in this book because who are you, I'm not agreeing to this mess.
Tae and Ra were were slowly making their way back, but they avoided real conversation throughout this entire book. The open issue with Solai and Tae...I needed more.
Harvey, Aunyae, and Kareem were cute. Their little family made some progression. They made their way back to each other after some fallout, but never tried to play each other.
Anika, Lano, and Krew's love triangle was messy but I was here for it. Krew felt like getting into a relationship would break Anika which it did for a little bit but he mishandled her heart. Just like she mishandled his. She chose to boss up with his associate and he wasn't feeling it. I mean too bad so sad. Was she wrong, yeah, but so was he trying to be King Petty and it back fired.
I am left with so many questions....off to the next book for some answers.
Oh is this what we’re doing?!?!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!! The bomb Tesh mama dropped and that ending alone earned this book 5 stars!! The book was slower that I would’ve have liked but still really good! Some of these couples are getting their act together while I’m still side eyeing a few others 😒
Juvie and Solai finally get on the same page and Juvie is determined to do right by her. The jury is still out with Juvie. I don’t know if he’s coming or going most of the time and he seems to be all over the place at times. I have no doubt that this new revelation will cause him to tighten up.
I knew that baby wasn’t Juvie’s just because O is a snake but she was an anaconda with her dirt!!! I kept thinking who could be this baby’s father and it NEVER dawned on me that it was that n!gg@. Whew baby!!!! You got me good with that one Briann! 😅🤧
I’m so happy for Harvey and Aunyae! They seem like they finally got it together but it’s still two books left so I won’t get to comfortable 😩
I’m liking this thing with Lano and Anika and I’m interested to see how this plays out. Krew did Paige so dirty… don’t dish it if you can’t take it. Paige was a wholesome girl and it was cool when you were doing Anika dirty but seeing she moved on was a hard pill for Krew to follow 🙄😐Lano said put some respect on his woman name!! I don’t like Krew and Anika together and hope she stays with Lano.
Juvie, Juvie, Juvie… I honestly don’t know what it’s going to take for him to truly understand. It’s frustrating to watch, and honestly, heartbreaking. I don’t blame Solai at all for stepping away and protecting her peace she had to. I still hold on to a little hope for them, but so much damage has been done. My heart is heavy for Tesh… I literally cried for her. She didn’t deserve any of that pain.
But through all the heartbreak, there’s a bit of light seeing Harvey and Aunyae find their way back to each other made me smile. And Anika… finally. She’s finally being poured into the way she deserves. Lano is exactly the kind of love she needed. She’s met her match in the best way.
Juvie seems to be turning into a waste of a good character with his actions and how he’s been moving in the story. Of course the Tremaine situation was just what I thought it would be but the way it all played out should’ve been written a bit better. I understand the author wanting to leave off with a bang but it really wasn’t.
I’m more interested in Ra but I can really do without Tesh not sure what’s going to happen with Krew and Anika but I hope those two stay far apart. Harvey needs his little happy home shaken so hopefully the author focuses on the other characters a bit more in the next story.
3.5 stars. It would've gotten more starts, but at one point it seemed like each interaction between the couples involved sex. Had all the unnecessary sex scenes been removed the book would've been further along. I am happy that my prediction about Oriana was correct. Can't wait to see how the series end. Please complete this series in three books.
This book was frustrating to read because it perpetuates toxic ideas about relationships while contradicting its own supposed attempts at dismantling patriarchal norms. The portrayal of men, in particular, was disappointing. The idea that a man is only strong if he is controlling, distant, or emotionally unavailable is outdated and toxic. Krew had his flaws, but reducing him to a “weak” man simply because he was in love and respected boundaries was unnecessary and frustrating.
Solai was even more insufferable. A degree might make you qualified, but it doesn’t make you intelligent or a good person, and she proved that. She had little respect for her own boundaries, let alone anyone else’s, and her role as a homewrecker and side piece only made her more unlikable.
The book tries to challenge gender norms, such as the idea that a man can’t love a child that isn’t his, that men can’t be side pieces, or that a man can love more in a relationship, but ultimately reinforces sexist double standards. The execution was contradictory and hypocritical, making the entire premise fall flat.
With that in mind, I won’t be reading the other two parts.
Ohhh goodness. I really wanted Oriana to be good for real but I always just had the feeling that something wasn't right. I am so glad Ra made it thru for real because both Juvie and Tesh needs him in ways they may not know yet. Now Anika made me mad with the Krew situation but Paige is looking real crazy not that the tables has turned. Lano definitely is a real one and ain't taking nothing from nobody. Solai is still my dawg but she definitely give Juvie a run for his money. But the biggest question I have is what is going to happen once the news of the sisters come out. On to part 3.
What I will say about this installment and this author is that I love the men that she writes about. These are some men that when they decide they are with the woman, that’s it. They really don’t want anyone else. Juvie though, got to be one of the craziest mfs I’ve read about, if not Sen. Those two need help for real. It’s something really interesting to me watching a psychopath fall in love. And in these cases, the women are just as crazy as they are.
The things that I thought would happen did. I won’t lie it was too many errors. Like how do you forget the ages of your characters? Or who their names. This book seriously needs an editor and there was so much of this book that I skimmed through. I’m only gonna read the next book because I’m happy they finally revealed what we ALL KNEW! And I want to see the fall out.
Bish whhhaaaaa !!! Man i knew it !! I swear i did !!! I hate just need Lano Juvie and Sen to cancel Christmas on O straight up !!! I can’t believe she been playing Juvie !! And then Krew i know he gone find a way to get back at Lano !! I just hope like hell Tesh baby aint Tremaines 🙄🙄🙄
This book could have been much better if some of the parts were not cut short. It was like the author just jumped to other parts leaving you wondering why happen. Then it didn't get good until the end. Tesh momma really has some issues like how you mad at Stacey when she had the man first. I knew orian was a snake
Love this author, all I can say is that I can't Wait to download the third book. The end of the story will just throw you for a loop. This series so far deserve 5 stars.
Whoa... so Oriana has been playing both sides of the fence all this time that's crazy how it ended with the police pulling Juvie over for her own reasons let see how this turns out
Talking bout a neck breaker i can't wait for the next book to drop. Allot of explaining will have to be done about this love triangle juvie got himself into. Walls are about to come down soon.
Love the series so far! Can’t wait for what’s revealed in book 3! Easy read and very engaging. I love how the author gives just a enough details to have you guessing what might happen next.
Even though I called this major plot twist back in book one I was still shocked I guess because I didn’t expect it to play out how it did. I will say this book seemed to be at a slower pace than the previous book which isn’t really a bad thing 🤷🏾♀️
The first book started off really slow for me but definitely started to enjoy it after a little. This book was too good and the plot twist at the end, definitely didn’t see that coming.
I definitely didnt expect that! If Im being honest Juvie is a F**k boy like most males are especially with a little money. I cant stand Tesh mama. Here I was sitting here feeling sorry for O and I knew something about her rubbed me the wrong way.
This book was so good, definitely left me wanting more. These young ladies have a lot to learn men only tell what they want you to know... And half of that is lies
