When Kelsey and her friends find an abandoned pug puppy, it looks like another case for the Curious Cat Spy Club. But shortly thereafter, Kelsey's mother goes missing—possibly in the line of duty as an Animal Control officer—and it's up to the CCSC to discover what happened. As they search for Kelsey's mom, they start to wonder if her disappearance is somehow linked to the puppy they found. The fifth book in the Curious Cat Spy Club series is filled with twists and turns and, of course, tons of animal adventures!

I started writing at 8 years old and when I speak to kids at schools or libraries I show them the stories I wrote as a child. I loved mystery series like Judy Bolton and Nancy Drew, and my DREAM was to write a series of my own. This happened when My Sister the Ghost was published by Avon books in 1994.

Since then I’ve been fortunate to write other series like The Seer, Dead Girl trilogy, Strange Encounters, Regeneration and Curious Cat Spy Club. I recently added a mini mystery to the Curious Cat Spy Club series titled Dog Rescue Time Warp which has a surprise ending.

I love hearing from fans and always write back. And I’ll send a spy activity packet to anyone that asks. Email link at www.LindaJoySingleton.com

Review: DOG-GONE DANGER by Linda Joy Singleton

A delightfully engrossing middle-grade mystery in the Curious Cats Spy Club series, DOG-GONE DANGER brings out serious issues which families may face, as well as focusing on the friendships and burgeoning life skills of three youngsters. When Kelsey's mom, the County Animal Control Officer, fails to meet Kelsey for a promised shopping date, Kelsey is distraught and angry. A concise text from Mom's phone convinces other family members, but not Kelsey, who with best friends Becca and Leo, proceeds to investigate, certain that Mom's absence is involuntary and connected to her work.

Designed for middle-grade readers, this exciting story is a fast read and a lot of enjoyment.

This is book #5 in the mystery series The Curious Cat Spy Club and it's every bit as good as the previous books in this series. It features three friends who formed a mystery club to help animals and solve mysteries. Becca Morales' mom owns a wildlife sanctuary, Kelsey Case's mom is an animal control officer, and Leo Polanski is the geeky nerd kid who is a whiz with building technical gizmos that really work. Together the kids are dynamite at solving mysteries. Their adventures involve various animals, sometimes exotic, and are exciting to read.

In this book the kids find an abandoned purebred pug puppy in an old barn. Right after Kelsey tells her mom about the puppy, her mom disappears. The kids scramble to find the truth and to find Kelsey's mom but there is danger along the road. Somebody doesn't want their illegal activities exposed. The three young detectives are quite competent at tracking clues, despite the fact that the Sheriff sort of believes the texts Mrs. Case supposedly sent to her family saying that she wanted to be left alone. Luckily, Kelsey doesn't believe it for a minute!

The book is very cleverly written and is a good read even for an adult! Middle grade readers will love this story. I hope there will be more Curious Cat Spy Club books.

It's a great mystery for animal lovers. The previous books in the series were better. It felt more rushed, but I do believe Singleton is a good writer. Nevertheless, looking forward to next book. 3.5 stars.

This is the 5th installment of the Curious Cat Spy Club mystery series, but you don't have to begin with book #1 to know what's going on and to love Kelsey, Leo, and Becca. I'd describe this book as a cozy mystery for kids--it has all the elements of a great mystery, but none of the scariness that will keep kids up at night. Best of all, I like how the characters stay within the realm of what kids know and can do to find the solution. Another winner from a master series author!

I received an advanced copy from the publisher.

Since this is the fourth adventure(book), the tree are more familiar with how the club rolls. In this book, Kesley's mom gets kidnapped and there is an illegal puppy mill that is faking pedigrees. It is up to them to find Kesley's mom as nobody else believes them.

This series has given me a glimpse into what it would be like to start a spy club with my friends, and I love it. I also love how we see more of Kelsey’s past. I however do not like that Kelsey’s mom goes missing!

I liked this one better than the last one I read. Also, why is the cover such a different art style? I'm not saying I don't like it, but it's just different.
