K. Nilsson’s love of reading began with the Bobbsey twins. When she ran across some Italian True Romance novellas stashed in the attic, the musty serials hooked her on adult fiction. Though black and white photos were dramatic enough to know what the stories were about, she taught herself to read in Italian and translated them to her friends.
She’s an unapologetic reviewer of books, restaurants, and vacation destinations. An amateur photographer, K. loves taking editorial photos and documenting her travels. Her personal philosophy, sleeping is a waste of time.
Ever since reading Improper, I waited for the sequel. This book did not disappoint. Finally, we know who hurt Carrie. The book took an unexpected turn, but it was very satisfying. It was told by several povs. Imo, details were revealed by each that showed character development.
Though the subject of sexual abuse is taboo in romance, it does affect book characters. There is no need to shy away from it in this book. It is treated more with sensitivity than graphic descriptions.
It can be read as a standalone book but why would you want to? The first book provides all the background on Carrie. I loved her.
I loved the conclusion of Carrie and Saint's story. Ms. Nilsson portrayed Carrie Drazen as a strong survivor, fighting to cure her self and have a chance at a life. Carrie and saints ending was perfectly fitting for the story. I'm all about the Drazen family and It was really cool to get some perspectives from other Drazen characters, like Margie, Declan and Eileen, and this book was very relevant to the Drazen World. Ms. Nilsson's books are well written and the characters are well rounded and easy to relate to. There's lot's of action and suspense to keep you wanting more. Ms. Nilsson dealt with some taboo subject matter in a sensitive and respectful manner. I really enjoyed book one, Improper, and the conclusion in this this book was satisfying. I can't wait to see what's next from K Nilsson.
