Worlds Collide

Rate this book
It is the day after New Years and Dale is en route back to Albany in a private jet with Emily Bullen. She is coming back home after turning states evidence on her husband Senator Thomas Bullen.

What no one factored in, not Sanctuary or the FBI, was the lengths Griffin Ryland would go to in the effort to protect himself.

Joseph finds out Dale is in trouble and it is only with the help of his team of SEALs that he can make sure Dale is safe and that Griffin Ryland can't cause any more trouble.

A snowy New Years, a deserted airport and a hostage situation with people already dead and suddenly the worlds of Sanctuary and the SEALs collide, with terrifying consequences.

Then, two weeks alone at a resort, falling deeper in love leave the two men with decisions to make and suddenly there is the chance to make forever a possibility.

Worlds Collide is the seventh book in RJ Scott’s Sanctuary series. Now, as people may know from my reviews and ratings, I love this series. It has a lot of the things I love, while still giving a great story. I wouldn’t say the books are always the most emotional (which I normally go for). But these do offer you the chance to see tough guys fall in love at first sight.

Dale and Joseph are the couple from The Only Easy Day. They return here for the chance at a HEA. It was amazing that we got the chance to see them together, actually together. Of course it was a battle getting them there. There was a bomb, hostage situation and of course their normal lives, but they did get their time. Some very hot, steamy time.

One thing I love about this series, and it might be me, but I love getting another piece of the puzzle in the Bullen case. Every book chips away at what happened, and what is going on with them. In this case we get the badass Emily Bullen, who people think is the innocent wife who just got caught in the crossfire. Yeah, right! She’s the brains, I did laugh, I will admit, when that came out. I love a good strong female, whether good or bad.

The hero complex in Joseph and Dale could have killed me, never mind them. They have the ability to get themselves in danger, without really trying. That is very worrying for people like me who want them to have long, happy lives. Not to be cut short with a bullet to the brain.

If you like more sappy, or in this case, romantic scenes, then you will love this book. I am a huge fan of sap and romance, I actually crave it. But this series isn’t normally as lovey dovey as others. This book was though, and it wasn’t overly gooey, it was just the right amount of loveliness for this couple. Two macho tough guys who aren’t afraid to express their feelings? Yes please! That is what I love to read and that is what I got.

The twist with Jake’s parents didn’t come as a surprise. It was (for me) building up to happen. I had my suspicions, but I do hope for another book or two so we can deal with that. For Jake especially, he deserves to know the truth, and Kayden. I don’t want to see them getting hurt, but I am desperate to know what happened and how Jake will react. I have my own theory in my head. Beginning with, O. But we shall see what happens.

For fans of the series this is a must read. I could not tell you how much I love this series. We get too see a lot of the other characters in this one. We also meet new guys and get a really great continuation. I adored this book and it was worth the wait, but it just made me go crazy when I started reading it. I recommend this series to everyone. Fans of RJ will especially love this.

Go read this series, it’s one of the many reasons I love RJ!!!

Great new book in the Sanctuary series. 5 stars and from me

I have to admit Dale and Joe were two of my faves from this series, and if I were them, I'd have been more than a little miffed at the amount of time they had together in book 2.

This book put that to rights....steamy, romantic, oh yes folks they're in lurve!! What I also liked was that none of the questions I had about Griffin Ryland and the Bullen family were answered so yes, more books Yay!! We discovered that Emily Bullen was in fact the brains behind the operation (or so she says), and that Ryland was being paid by God knows who to do the things he did...he undoubtedly had several of his own agendas, but he's now safely in custody (she says hopefully), and new characters were introduced including a bi-sexual SEAL named Viktor (yum).

All I can say to finish is many thanks RJ, and keep writing them...I'll definitely keep reading them!!

This was my fave of the series so far, but it's a continuation of the couple from book 2. I'm just a little peeved I had to wait until 4 books later. What was the point of book 2 in the first place. If I would've purchases this, and not borrowed from KU, I would be more than pissed! I was still happy Joseph and Dale finally got their HEA.

Yes my SEALs get another book

It's no secret that I was disappointed by how little we got of Dale and Joshua together after their all action adventures in one of the early books.

So I was very happy to get a whole new escapade with plenty of daring do before the guys manage to spend two weeks holiday time together.

This one gave me all I was missing from their first book, lots of feels, lots of 'I love yous' and plenty of sexy times.

It's been quite a while since I read the previous Sanctuary book, and I really liked returning to this world of mystery, suspense, and dark plotting by illegal elements and bad guys. It was interesting to return to Joseph and Dale's relationship, especially since they'd left things somewhat up in the air at the end of book two. Well, not in terms of commitment to each other, but none of the practicalities of their relationship had been solved or even discussed at that point. Also, the situation with Senator Bullen's wife testifying in the case against him was still up in the air after book six, and one of he bad guys was missing. So, lots of threads to weave another interesting tale. And RJ Scott certainly didn’t disappoint.

Joseph is still with the SEALs, but a few things have happened that make him think about his future. It's a big change for him, and the fact that he's even considering something else for a living shows how much he has changed and grown. He still considers his feelings for Dale a bit on the sappy side, but he is now honest enough with himself to admit he has them. As he begins to face the truth that he loves Dale with all his heart, a life-and-death situation forces him to speed up his musings and make a decision.

Dale is a bit further along in the able-to-admit-he-loves Joseph department, but he is biding his time. Having moved out of the SEALs himself he knows how difficult that can be, at the same time, he knows they are Joseph's life, so to speak, and he doesn’t want his lover to stop doing what he loves. Dale knows that can only lead to catastrophe, so he bides his time. Seeing Joseph in mortal danger right before his eyes doesn't help, but he stays the course.

While the first half of the book is the usual high-tension story including threats, lots of action, and even a bomb, the second half focuses entirely on Joseph and Dale. They need to reconnect, and I loved seeing how they became closer and closer, how they discussed the future, and how Joseph worked out what he wanted to do. If you like stories about tough men, SEALs to be exact, if you enjoy reading books with a good balance between action and a budding relationship, and if you're looking for a read that is hot yet very sweet, then you will probably like this novella.

I am not sure why but this has been my favorite book in this series... so far! Dale and Joseph's story is told from a whole different perspective than the ones that have come before it but it made me laugh so hard my side hurt and it made me "feel" how much they wanted to be together but just weren't sure how to make it happen. This series has been a roller-coaster ride of intrigue and dangerous situations which we see a bit of with this one also, but mostly it was about them looking deep inside and deciding what it is exactly they want out of life and the one thing they are both sure of is that they want a future with each other... so, they MAKE it happen! :D

I think this was my absolute favorite of the series!
Dale and Joseph are just so amazing together! I'm so happy to see them back!

I love how sweet and open they are to each other, and the talk about their future! so cute!

The action was good and fun, but most of all it was to see them together again and happier than ever.
Love this series! and this book in particular is highly recommended :)

I have yet to find a couple in this series that I didn't love. Joseph and Dale are absolutely perfect for each other and were very hot together.
I was "awww-ing" all over the place when the big, bad SEAL buys his big, bad ex-SEAL the stuffed alligator. I do love when BAMF's show their soft sides.

When Dale finds himself with a bomb on his plane and an assassin at the airport ready to kill the woman he has under protection he knows he needs back-up. He never thought the one to come to his aide would be his lover Joseph. But when the smoke clears can the two solidify their relationship or will watching your other half with a gun to his head make put the relationship in a tail spin? Love, love, Loved Dale and Joseph when they first met and now as the two become deeper and deeper the storyline just gets better and better!!

This book in the series is particularly satisfying because the MCs, Dale, a Sanctuary operative, and Joseph, a Navy SEAL, are revisited. In a previous book, the two formed a strong bond, but their jobs took them in opposite directions. Although they stayed in touch and met when they could, they always parted again. Now, they have the chance to deepen their relationship into a lasting commitment if they can just figure out how to make it work. Great series that stays strong.

Review written for MM Good Book Reviews

This story is part of a series and must be read in order Dale has the task of seeing Emily Bullen to Albany safely after she turned states evidence against her husband, it is supposed to be an easy run but no one took into account Griffin Ryland’s plan to keep his secrets hidden. Joseph is attending his best friend’s wedding in Albany looking forward to the following weeks when he will be spending time with his lover Dale, but a frantic call in the middle of the night has him jumping to action with his Seal teammates. Neither men has really bared their hearts, and if they get out of the airport alive they will have two weeks of uninterrupted bliss to decide if they have a possibility at forever.

Oh my god, whoop, we see Dale and Joseph again as they reassess their long distance relationship and get a grip on the loose ends of the Bullen’s case. We saw Dale and Joseph meet and begin to fall in love during The Only Easy Day and now we revisit them as they plan to meet up for two weeks of uninterrupted them time, to add excitement we connect with them just days before when Dale is escorting Emily to a safe house and Joseph is attending a teammates wedding. Both their worlds collide when Sanctuary needs the SEALs back-up when a rogue FBI agent decides to silence Emily Bullen permanently and Sanctuary agents are all snowed in.

I loved this story because not only do we have the excitement of thwarting Griffin in his desperate attempts but we also have Dale and Joseph coming to terms with their relationship, how they feel for each other and what they should do in the future. Dale and Joseph’s long distance romance hasn’t been easy for either of them, their schedules clash a lot and plans made were broken, so they have only seen each other briefly since they first got together. They both know what they feel for the other and when they meet for their two week vacation they both plan on telling the other exactly what they feel.

Ahhhh these guys are so romantic in their own macho way and they are surprising sweet together. Joseph has a lot of thinking to do about his future, not just about his relationship but also what he wants to do in his work life. Dale is just happy to have whatever time he can have with his sexy SEAL, especially if it involves him naked. These guys still have that explosive spark and they are still macho men, what they feel for each other is clear to see in their actions and thoughts and I can finally sigh in relief as they get their happy ever after.

I have to recommend this to those who love alpha men, facing the future, accepting and receiving deep love, bombs, hostage situations, getting the bad guy and a very satisfying happy ending.

In Worlds Collide by RJ Scott we get to revisit Dale and Joseph’s relationship. I guess you could call it a relationship though they’ve spent no time together with their current jobs with Dale on assignment with Sanctuary and Joseph an active Navy seal. We all assumed an HFN at the end of The Only Easy Day but they definitely haven’t had the chance to make a go of a relationship. Now they finally get two uninterrupted weeks together, but unfortunately there is all kinds of drama and action just to get to their vacation. Dale is escorting Emily Bullen back to Albany and there is someone out to kill her. I enjoyed the action in the beginning of the book. The continuing saga with the Bullen case helps bridge all the books together plus we got to meet Joseph’s seal team members which I hope leads to future stories involving that crew.

As for the main characters, I wasn’t completely enamored with Joseph in their first book. His “I can do all” attitude grated a little on my nerves but this book changed my perspective him. I always like Dale so this just made me like him more. Joseph seemed more vulnerable in this story really questioning his current career path and what he wants out of life. You can tell the two are very much in love with each other, or maybe it is lust since they haven’t really gotten to know each other so the two week vacation would be a good test. If anything they have a ton of sexual chemistry, the two together are hot hot hot. Thankfully it isn’t all just one continuous sex scene. There are hikes in the woods, dinner out so it becomes clear they are meant to be together. I love to read stories of men who can express their feelings and not just assume we know what they think because of how they act in bed.

I’m glad Ms. Scott wrote a follow up book to their story. Since I love to read series, any time I can read more about past couples it makes me happy. There were a few editing errors but not too distracting from the story.

Definite must read for Sanctuary fans.

The last we saw of Joseph and Dale was in The Only Easy Day where we were left hanging with a HFN on their relationship. This installment in the Sanctuary series is all about the two men. I enjoyed the way Ms Scott wove the romance around Dale's taking Emily Bullen back from the west coast to turn state's evidence against her husband the senator. The story gave action at the airport fighting Griffin and his men who tried to kill Emily Bullen and balanced it with a great romance. The sex was hot and well written. There was a perfect flow to the story and it was a nice, easy read. This book could be read as a stand alone in my opinion as it revolved around Dale and Joseph with Emily as a secondary evil character. I wanted to see Mrs. Bullen taken down being that she was really the brains behind the entire Bullen empire but the government wanted her testimony more. I liked that Joseph could be so open about his life when talking about career choices with his commanding officer. That Joseph and Dale were comfortable enough in their own skin to have the stuffed alligator showed the tender side to the two macho men. I missed seeing glances at how the rest of the Sanctuary gang was doing because the other books did that. This book is definitely worth reading just for its two tough main characters and the HEA ending.

Of all these books this one is a little different. We're not being introduced to a new couple, but rather getting Dale and Joseph back together after what seems forever. Their relationship hasn't really had a chance to grow, because with Joseph being an active SEAL and Dale on assignments they never have a chance to get together.

It's also different because, apart from the very beginning, this one isn't so much based on the action and suspense like the previous books all were. There is some bits going on in the beginning, but in reality this book is more about Dale and Joseph realising what they both want from their relationship and working towards making it all happen.

Not sure if these books are ever really long enough, but when it comes to Joseph and Dale, I don't think it's possible. However, at the end I was left smiling and wanting more. An excellent finish? Or maybe just a bridge to more, more is always good, now if we could just get Manny back, that would be excellent.

I have to admit Dale and Joseph weren't my favorite characters but I really enjoyed this story. There were moments I thought it was getting quite sappy between the two but overall I liked seeing them finally admitting their feelings to each other and just seeing them spend time together. There was great action scenes in the book and it was fun learning more about Joseph and his team.

A favorite

I liked this one more than many of the rest probably because of the connection to A Reason to Stay (Heroes #1), Viktor’s story. Also a little more heat than the rest seem to have.
