FROM AWARD-WINNING GAY ROMANCE AUTHOR MORTICIA KNIGHT

Book eight in the Kiss of Leather series

Tai wishes Master Lucas wasn’t such an adamant Top, but he’s also crushing on the sweetly submissive Elliot. Could he have it both ways?

Tai has hit a wall in life. From all outward appearances, he’s the guy who has everything—looks, personality and money. But the modeling gigs are drying up and he still hasn’t found that special someone to call his own. The part-time work at Kiss of Leather is quickly becoming full-time to prevent the drain on his dream-business savings.

Elliot fell for the stunning Tai from almost the moment he met him. If he wasn’t so self-conscious about the weight he’s recently put on, maybe he could work up the nerve to make a move. However, not only is he a virgin who’s never done a scene before working in a BDSM club, but he’s also sure that Tai has a thing for Master Lucas. There’s no way he could ever compete with the handsome silver fox.

When Master Lucas confesses to Tai that he doesn’t only see him as a hookup and offers him a contract, there are a ton of considerations. They both realize that serious compromises would have to be made for them to have a relationship. But what if they found a third, a sub who could bottom for Tai and also do TPE with Master Lucas? Once the idea takes hold, Tai knows just the perfect boy for them both. Even better? He’s right there at Kiss of Leather, and Tai can’t wait for Elliot to turn them all into a throuple.

have loved the Kiss of Leather series from book #1 and this was just another great story to add to it. To start there was Tobey and Hunter’s housewarming party where we begin to see Tai, Lucas and Elliot’s lives and how they are beginning to notice one another. Tai and Lucas have been dancing around their feelings for a long time but when faced with trying to make an exclusive relationship work they know there are some big barriers to overcome. Elliot is incredibly sweet and just wants to help and serve all those around him but knows he needs to find someone for himself and stop admiring from a distance. I loved Tai when I met him in the previous books and couldn't wait to see him finally get his story. Lucas’s acceptance of Tai’s behavior and attitude is one of the things that shows that love will come even when you don’t expect it. I hated seeing Elliot get hurt when he was trying to find something for himself, but I loved that it gave Tai and Lucas the chance to pamper him and grow their relationship. This one seemed to be much more insulated than the previous ones, as we didn’t see much other than just these three working everything out together. A great deal of the story was told from Elliot’s or Lucas’s point of view, I believe that I felt more connected to Elliot and more cheering for his happiness than Tai or Lucas, who were already a settled couple. They did eventually find a common ground for all three to have an equal relationship. As with every book Morticia Knight writes, she shows a wonderfully diverse cast of characters that you HAVE to love. This series is a definite must read if you're a fan of M/M romances. The characters are always rich and diverse, actually... the entire package is nothing less than

2.5 Stars.

It has been quite some time since I read Morticia Knight and since I enjoy the occasional BDSM story, thought I’d give this a try. It did work as a stand-alone, although the first chapter confused me, as it features an entirely different couple (including a sex scene), one of whom is friends with Elliot. Apparently the MC’s were present in previous books and there’s a bit of crossover. The blurb conveys the main plot, except for a brief encounter or two with a villainous Dom, and the details of the threesome’s progress. Let me just say, my tastes have changed over time, since I read my last book by the author. While it was entirely pleasant and readable, it did little to truly engage my interest and contained much that was not to my tastes.

The characters seemed one-dimensional and stereotyped in many ways. Lucas is the wise, silver-haired Dom, Tai, the bratty, fashion model, twink and Elliott, the child-like submissive with no self esteem, until he meets the other two. Also a virgin in every sense, but absolutely certain he wants to be a full-time submissive and will enjoy pain. The expected elements are all present; contracts, safewords and the like, but it hit notes of BDSM 101, and the relationship building was nearly all exposition, jumping from starting point into commitment. If you prefer BDSM ultra-lite, there’s just a couple of brief sex scenes, one with a little bondage and flogging. It was simply not the right book for me.

I am delighted that the author isn’t through with this series quite yet. ‘Kiss of Leather’ novels have kept my interest through seven books because I adore the characters, the writing is fairly fast-paced, and the stories are interesting. To see the author venture into a ménage had me quite intrigued and looking forward to Tai, Master Lucas, and Elliot’s story.

Elliot is the head bartender at Kiss of Leather, former roommate and best friend of Tobey, and an adorable sweetheart with no confidence and poor self-esteem. Tai is twenty-eight, a model whose agent doesn’t call very often, a server at Kiss of Leather, a switch, and desperately in need of someone to help him gather his scattered thoughts together but not run his life. Master Lucas is forty-five, a sexy silver fox, very dominant, who really wants to make a relationship work with Tai. When Tai and Lucas discuss their options - seeing as Lucas is never going to give up being dominant and Tai can never be a full-time sub - the idea of adding a third begins to beckon them both.

Feisty + Sweet + Dominance = Love 💕

Gourmet cooking, a cosmetic line, and permanence are all goals of this Triad D/s love story featuring Master Lucas, feisty Tai & sweet Elliott. I always have ambivalent feelings about this author’s storytelling. The writing is average, the depth of the connections between the MCs is tenuous at best. Although, I did think the love connection was a bit stronger between Master Lucas and Elliott. Overall the story was interesting enough for me to finish reading the book.

I liked this story as I have the series but this one was much more insulated than the last few and we didn’t really see much other than these three working everything out together. Much of the story was told from Elliot’s or Lucas’s viewpoint and I felt much more connected to Elliot and invested in his happiness than Tai or Lucas. It seems they found a good common ground for them all to have an equal relationship but didn’t feel that there was much shown to see them really navigating their relationship once it started.

The like cover art by Erin Dameron-Hill and the visuals of the characters and that it follows the pattern for the series.

Tai doesn’t suffer from insecurity. He’s openly proud of who he is, can be over the top and flamboyant, and will readily admit to being a brat. He’s a switch who likes to give and take control, but he’s falling for a Dom who’s interested in total power exchange and crushing on a sub who is a virgin in every sense of the word.

When Master Lucas asks for more of a commitment, Tai thinks he has the perfect solution for all of them. Except, Lucas has never met Elliot and Elliot doesn’t think he stands a chance with Tai. That might have been a recipe for disaster, but I couldn’t wait to see Tai bring them all together with that sass of his.

I wish I could say that’s what happened, but somewhere between Lucas and Tai agreeing to consider a third and bringing Elliot in, the focus became Elliot and Tai became a background character. I didn’t even realize it until Lucas calls Tai by an endearment that he has since given to Elliot and Tai, in a rare show of insecurity, questions if that’s still his place. It was a heartbreaking moment that made me question the veracity of this relationship. Instead of seeing three men work together, I saw Lucas and Elliot take over as the core couple with Tai playing whatever part interests him at the moment.

Which is actually why I wasn’t angry about it. In the end, each of these men got what they wanted. Elliot got a real Master to serve and the flashy Tai he was crushing on. Lucas got a true sub to control and the fun Tai he first fell for. And Tai got the benefits of both without having to put much effort in at all. I don’t mean that in a bad way. He is who he is and they love him for it, and as long as they can continue the balance they’ve found, I can see it working.

Another good installment in the series and now I’m stumped where Morticia will go next because there are still more characters in this world that need a story.

I received an ARC of Switching Places from the author in return for an honest review

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the eighth book in this series, and they are still fresh with new characters and snippets of previous ones. You could read this as a standalone, but why deny yourself the full enjoyment.

We start with a catch up of Tobey and his new relationship with Master Hunter. It gives us a good insight into Elliot, and his crush on Tai. But Tai is currently playing with Master Lucas, and Elliot sees there is no space for him instead. As veteran readers of Ms Knight will know, there is little which cannot be surmounted in KoL. As we see, there is a solution which will get everyone exactly what they want, and with some unexpectedly strong feelings developing too.

Elliot's attempt to solve his own problems ends in danger, but he makes an incredibly wise decision when he has his phone in his hand. I felt it all stemmed from that decision and was a brave move. The three men together are amazingly hot, sensual and once communication is established, in harmony. A good mix of BDSM elements, and exploration of how different needs can be met.

Another very enjoyable addition to the series. Thank you Ms Knight.

I enjoyed this book. It did seem to move pretty quickly from no one being in a committed relationship to them being a throuple. I liked each character, Tai, Elliot and Master Lucas how could you not? However I felt just like Elliott that everything seemed too good to be true. I loved rhe dynamics of the characters as well. I am just sad that some things werw skimmed over or several days or weeks had passed, I felt like I was missing pieces of their relationship. All in all it was sweet, loving and a good addition to the series.

I don't usually enjoy books about threesome's. Switching Places is a well written book! Master Lucas is getting to a point in his life where he's looking for a permanent partner. He's seeing Tai and is ready to offer a contract. Tai is a vivacious man who has a lust for life. The only thing that's worrisome, is his modeling gigs are disappearing. So he works part time at Kiss of Leather which seems more a full time job. Elliott is a insecure young man who walks in to apply for a job at Kiss of Leather as bartender complete with recipes for virgin drinks. Getting the job, he falls for Tai.
These guys have their own personal baggage to overcome. Can Master Lucas convince Tai to except his contract? Both would have to make serious compromises. Elliot has crushed on Tai but he knows it's a dream that won't come true because Elliot won't come between Tai and Master Lucas.
Will these three find their way to a relationship? Can they be the answer to a possible compromise? Morticia Knight knows how to meld the tenants of BDSM with the personalities of three interesting but very different men and make a great story.

Just when you think this series can’t get any hotter...

....and then there’s Tai, Elliott and Lucas. Wow. I’ve loved Tai since his first appearance; all that sass but an amazingly loving heart. His being a switch adds one new element to this book (all the others have had MCs who are clearly Dom or sub, to greater or lesser extents), and his character is beautifully drawn. Elliott was a bit of an unknown quantity, and learning his back story and watching him work through his self esteem and other issues was awe-inspiring. Is it weird I feel inspired by a fictional character? Master Lucas is also wonderfully drawn; in keeping with all the Masters in this series so far, he is calm, confident and caring. The one point where he loses his cool is slightly scary (you’ll know it when you see it).
If you like M/M/M dynamics done well, the caring and emotional, as well as more obvious, sides of BDSM and the hot sex, this is totally for you. Don’t read if you don’t like feeling happy.

I was disappointed

When I saw this book available on pre-order, I was super excited. I loved Eliott and Tai, and found Master Lucas to be intriguing in the last book, so to see that they all come together was going to be a treat. But, I just didn't feel it with this book.

I never quite understood the attraction between Lucas and TaI - it felt more like they were great friends who enjoyed sex than that they truly loved one another. The romantic relationship between each of them and Eliott was more believable to me. And I liked Eliott's love for Tai and love for Lucas.

In the end, I was happy that they were together, but I felt that this book had more promise than what was delivered.

When Master Lucas and Tai begin to look for a third to complete their relationship they look to Elliot. Can these men find what they are looking for or is this a disaster in the making?

These three men have an interesting story. I enjoyed being along for their adventure. Each man has a strong personality and readers get to see them find a way to fit together. It is not a smooth ride but one full of ups and downs and lots of emotions. Their story moves along at a good pace and kept me interested until the end. The three learn some hard lessons as they find that they have to work for what they want.

I love threesomes, but it's difficult finding one that gives all of three characters the same space. I felt deprived of Lucas and Tai's past, of their previouses scenes in the lifestyle. Tai's a switch, but we don't see him being a Dom, only a top.
It was a nice reading, well written and with the right pace and amount of angst, but unfortunately it's not one of my favorite book with a threesome.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This was a great book. I loved Tai, Lucas, and Elliott together. I really enjoyed the connection and chemistry between each other these three men. Tai and Lucas were looking for a third that would be perfect for both and they get, sweet Elliott. I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a perfect addition to this series.

Just enough hurt and comfort to make this a pleasurable journey to read and contemplate. They picked the perfect third for their triad. I liked how they all connected like puzzle pieces and added their own brand to the throuple. It made a complete circle of love. Elliott's sheer pleasure at finding new cooking implementers was so innocent and adorable!!!

4.5 ⭐.
If you want a lot of sex, this is not for you. But if like me you enjoy the psychological aspects of the lifestyle and especially if you have a negotiation kink (respect, curiosity, self control of emotions and art of compromise), then it's like macarons and coffee. The ménage side is also tastefully treated. Communication is wonderful!

I really enjoy reading Morticia Knight Kiss of Leather series. I was happy that Elliot, finally found someone to be his Dom. With help of Jai, he convinced Master Lucas to let Elliot join them, and be a third in their relationship. I can't wait for the next book.

Sweet, low-angst romance about a few more secondary characters from this series finding their happily ever afters together. There were some steamy scenes, but I appreciated the focus on everyone getting their emotional needs met as well as the physical.

The first 11 chapters of this get 3.5 stars, but chapter 12 gets a very loud and weighty 1 star.

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

I've always liked Tai in this series and was looking forward to his book. Elliot is such a sweet thing, and Lucas seems great, so all in all this was a very nice menage relationship.

I will say, for as much as is made of Tai being a switch, and how important that is to him, *and* for the book being called Switching Places ... well, I expected to see evidence of that and didn't really. We see him submit and defer to Lucas, but we don't really see him topping Elliot in any way except the very literal sense at the very end of the book. That's disappointing, because there is sooo much you can do with a switch.

Also. I feel like I'm missing chapters between 11 and 12. Because between 11 and 12, we skip ahead in time (not sure how long, a couple months?) and in that time, we skipped some REALLY big things that happened that we readers didn't get to witness, or only learned about after the fact. Such as:
1. What happened after the fight with Vince?
2. The first time I love yous were exchanged between the three of them (I mean COME ON!)
3. The first actual BDSM scene -- yes, the first sex scene between the three of them had *very* mild elements of domination, but the next sex scene indicates Elliot is always wearing a penis plug these days and dear god how did we get to that point already?? Oh right, because everything got skipped over. I would have liked to been there for Elliot's first scene.
4. I guess Lucas decided to sell his company? I would have loved to know how Tai reacted about getting his cosmetics line going. (btw, does Tai wear cosmetics outside of modeling?)

This was just such a rough transition, from chapter 11 to 12, that glossed over so many big moments that it's hard not to feel cheated, or like the author just didn't care to write those scenes and escaped doing so with a time hop.

Also in chapter 12: I'm glad we are at least not skipping over Elliot's first time with anal sex, but are you kidding me?? After all this time that is *just now* happening? "We were waiting on a signal from you." Um, wouldn't that be part of the contract, with the limits and stuff? So let's assume it's not a hard limit for Elliot ... his doms never once brought up anal? That is half the reason Tai needed a third in this relationship! So he can top! I mean, it says they've used dildos on Elliot, and never once were they like "hey, would you like a real penis instead of a fake one"?? This makes no logical sense to me.

I really did like this threesome, but I was disappointed in the end.

Oh my word! This is book #8 in this series and it was absolutely wonderful! Just when I think this series couldn’t possibly get any better, it surpasses my expectations. This book, this series (as well as all of her other works) is so well written, that I couldn’t put it down once I started reading.

I’ve waited quite some time for these characters’ stories. Tai fascinated me from the first time his character appeared in the earlier books (I cant recall which one at the moment). He was supposed to be a submissive but I he didn’t present to me as one. Or he didn’t present to me as a FULL sub. He cane off as more of a switch and I was right. He’s bold and a little forceful and beautiful. He’s confident without being conceited. That’s what I like most about his character. He’s more than what everyone sees. He’s intelligent as well as ambitious. And he’s got a thing for both Lucas and Elliot. That puts him in a situation where he’s feels that he’s too much of a top personality for Master Lucas and he’s not top enough for the sweetly submissive and innocent Elliot.

I adore Elliot’s character. His confidence has taken a bit of a dip due to his weight but he’s a beautiful man who doesn’t see just how beautiful he is. Both inside and out. He really has a thing for Tai but lacks the confidence to approach him.

Lucas is in a bit of a quandary himself over the situation. He wants Tai but feels that Tai probably won’t fully commit to being the submissive he needs. So the idea of a third appeals to him, it makes sense. So, Tai brings Elliot into the fold.

Like every relationship, the ménage has its challenges. There are demons from the past that have to be worked out and they have to work on fitting together.

As with every book she writes, she has a wonderfully diverse cast of characters that she always, ALWAYS writes with them with dignity and respect. Regardless of race, sexuality, gender or ethnicity, I’ve always felt comfortable reading this author’s work.

This series is a definite must read. The characters are rich and diverse, the storylines, dialogues and editing are always on point. The covers are always appealing; the entire package is fabulous.

This book, this series is highly recommended.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 8 in the series, the last one currently available, but for THIS book, you don't NEED to have read the other 7 books, it's far more a stand alone than the others. BUT you SHOULD read them, to get the full picture of what Elliot has been watching happen in Kiss of Leather.

I have been equally looking forward to this book, as much as I have been dreading it. Because THIS is the book that I really REALLY wanted to read, and because this is the last book. After reading the other 7 in a short space of time, I hung onto this one, for as long as I possibly could!

Master Lucas won Tai at the auction, and they've had a good run. They both know that this might not last, not least because Master Lucas does not bottom or sub, and Tai is a switch. But also because Master Lucas needs a TPE sub, and Tai is so not into that! Adding a third to their relationship might be the answer, and Tai knows just the boy.

And Elliot is just the sweetest boy! A sweet young man who just wants to help. A sweet young man who has been majorly crushing on Tai, and Master Lucas to a point, since he started at Kiss of Leather. A sweet young man who makes a dreadful decision that requires help from Master Lucas and Tai and they come through brilliantly!

I loved this , immensely!

Elliot is such a sweetheart; Master Lucas, such a Dom and Tai fits somewhere between the two. Tai isn't bratty like Marshall (book 3) he just isn't totally subby. He and Master Lucas teach Elliot all the things he wanted to know, but never had anyone to do them with. They make it clear, right from the start, that this is not a once in a while thing, this is a permanent arrangement for as long as they all want it.

It's glorious watching Elliot come into his own, both as sub for Masters Lucas and Tai, but also at the club, behind the bar and in the kitchen. His "hobby" for food and drink gives him a great deal of confidence.

Not as emotionally wrecking as some of the other books, nor did I find it as explicit. What I did find, though, is it is a beautifully written tale of 3 men finding what and who is right for them: each other.

If this really is the end?? It's a very fitting end.

5 stars

Although she has many books available, for one reason or another, I have never read one. So when this came up- a BDSM throuple, I was all in.

It is touted as a stand alone. But really, no. Firstly, the very first chapter opens with a sex scene between a couple from a previous book. A couple I knew nothing about and obviously there was a huge back story there. Besides the fact that I thought I was reading the wrong book.

Moving on, chapter 2 really starts this story. Master Lucas and Tai are already seeing each other. But Master Lucas is ONLY a Master. He never ever submits. Tai is a switch and is afraid that if he goes into a contract with Master Lucas, he would be giving up the Dom side to be a full time sub. So they flirt with the idea of adding a third who is a full time sub. Enter Elliot.

Master Lucas was my favorite of the three characters, but still. He wasn't very "Dom like". He coddled, apologized, etc. There was a grand total of 2 sex scenes between the three of them and they were lackluster at best.

Tai isn't a sub or a Dom. That much was painfully obvious.

Elliot would have been better off just with Master Lucas.

There were several things that were never resolved.

I hate to say it, but this is my first and last by this author....

Switching Places is the eighth book in the Kiss of Leather series by author Morticia Knight. Here we get to see Tai, Lucas, and Elliott make a relationship.
Tai is a switch. He is sassy, full of life. I love this character so much. He is sure of who he is and what wants. He is not scared to go for it.
Lucas is a calm Master. He is patient and kind. Great balance for the emotional Tai. He is older. He wants a Sub full time. Like Elliott.
Elliott is a Sub. He dreams of serving a master all the time. He doesn’t think he will find this mythical Master of his dreams. That is until he meets Tai and Lucas. He finds himself falling for both men, but they are confusing him wanting him close but not telling him why.
Communication is needed for these guys in a huge way. I think they are all that the other needs. They just have to be open to it.
Super sweet storyline in this one. A very deep story as well. I loved this installment to the series. Tai is one of my favorite characters and I am so glad he finally gets his happy endings.

Can you say something involving BDSM is sweet? And gentle? Because this story is both, a sweet and gentle romance. It’s also smoking hot when the three characters get busy in the bed or play room. Yet the focus in this story is the romance building between Tai, Master Lucas and Elliot. Of how they are going to balance meeting all their needs.

Tai is his usual sassy, snarky and fabulous self. He’s falling for Master Lucas but can’t do the submission thing full time. Every so often, he needs to feel someone under him. Master Lucas wants thing to work between him and Tai. But he knows that Tai can’t give him everything he wants in a sub. And that he can’t give Tai any little bit of control over him, at all. Enter sweet, shy and inexperienced Elliot. Elliot will be the element that fills both Tai and Master Lucas’ needs.

You’ve met the three of them in the previous books, but I think this could standalone. But why would you start here, when the rest of the series is so great. Get book one and enjoy this awesome series.

I'm getting more and more dissatisfied with the last few book in this series. While I absolutely loved the first few installments, my enthousiasm is waning more and more. This latest publication for me feels completely separate from the original series, except for the fact that it features the same BDSM club and the (very brief) mention of one of the original characters.
The story feels rushed and lacks in-depth characters. Although they are quite likeable, their problems and insecurities seem to vanish in thin air. My biggest issue with the story is that quite a few (for me) significant scenes, converstions and parts of the plot happen off page, are just described by one of the MC's or aren't mentioned/explained at all!! That and a time jump that doesn't really makes sense to me, let the book come to a rather sudden ending, that again feels rushed.
So two stars.

No connection to the characters. Very limited amounts of BDSM. No true D/s relationship just the development of one but it wasn't even a good burn. I've enjoyed this series up till this point but I was disappointed in this story. I wanted more. I wanted the Dom to be the Dom and the sub to submit and and the switch to act like a switch and not a pretty boy toy. Just didn't work for me.

Tai, Lucas and Elliot. MMM. An enjoyable read, great addition to the series. These 3 characters compliment each other very well. They each give what they can and it is exactly whats needed. Well written storyline. Recommend this book and the others in the series.
