Freelancing in galactic space is hazardous to your health, unless you’re Blake Brown, a four-hundred-plus-year-old vampire exiled from Earth. After serving as an intelligence agent in the Fredorian Rangers for twenty years, he has his sights set on trying out the mercenary bounty system with his abductee brother, Seth Williams.
It’s one thing to find a bounty or contract they can attempt with so little to their name. Fulfilling it is another. Starting off small, they take a simple contract to retrieve a stolen ship. The problem is the thief is Alcarez, a mad cyborg with a small army.
Finding Alcarez will be an issue, but doing so with minimal equipment comes with its own set of concerns. Despite these challenges, Blake and Seth will show the freelancing community what Earthborn can do.
I have been dreaming about fictional worlds since I was a kid. I devoured anything related to fantasy and science fiction. I developed a setting over the last twenty years and struggled to find a medium I could express it in. Several years ago, I discovered I enjoyed writing. It is a passion of mine now, and exploring my setting with it has been an awesome journey.
I work in the information technology field and have my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in it. It has helped me to shape some of the concepts I write about. I also enjoy keeping up on futurology and science in general.
I live in central Ohio and enjoy walking, reading, gaming, learning, listening to music, and trying to keep up on my never-ending list of TV shows and movies to watch. If you want to contact me, you can do so on my website at
Freelancing: The Earthborn Prequel by Adair Hart is a terrific new start of a series that is out of this world, literally, and so incredible awesome. This prequel introduces the reader to the main characters. They are Rangers for a planet or group of planets. Law enforcement and legal type bounty hunters, lol. But they stay within the law. They have super awesome gadgets and toys! The best part is the main guy is a vampire. He was kidnapped from Earth while he was sleeping. When he woke from the cage with others, well, let's say the ones that captured him didn't last long, aliens or not. This is about a mission he takes and he decides to go freelancing after that mission with another Earthborn friend. They go on their first freelance mission and it is hair-raising and exciting. I love the high-tech toys, the excitement, the fun of having a vampire meet aliens, and I love this author's work anyway. Lots of fun. This was a freebie from the author because I am his mailing list. The review is voluntary.
A fun, fast paced action full prequel to a great space opera in the Evaran Chronicles universe. A retired intelligence officer, BB is an Earth abducted vampire with this friend and brother in arms Seth launch out as freelancers as mercenaries bounty hunters, get involved in impossible and gritty situations. Lots of humour, darker than the Evaran Chronicle. A one of a kind beginning series!

Summary: Blake Brown, a vampire, and Seth Williams were abducted form Earth twenty years ago and after being rescued ended up on the planet Fredorian because they were not allowed to return with knowledge of advanced races. Blake is done with his time in the Fredorian Rangers and is about to become a freelancer working independently and Seth is going with him. Seth is one of the best pilots around, but he has never been in dangerous situation and that is Blake's middle name. The two are about to embark on a new adventure if they can manage to stay alive long enough to collect their pay.
This was a fast paced and intricate plot was as stunning as the futuristic and exotic planets in the story. I look forward to seeing what is next in store for Seth and Blake in the first book in The Earthborn series.
The prequel was interesting although I've been spoiled after reading Mr. Hart's Earthborn and Evaran series. This will help new readers to be able to the the it all together. Both of the series make to good reading enjoyment. Keep up the entertainment and thanks again Mr. Hart.
