Originally from Brooklyn, NY, writer, poet, spoken word performer, and playwright, John Biscello, has lived in Taos, NM since 2001. He is the author of three novels: Broken Land, Raking the Dust, and Nocturne Variations; a collection of stories, Freeze Tag; two poetry collections, Arclight and Houses of a Crystal Muse, and an adaptation of classic folk tales, Once Upon a Time: Classic Folktales Reimagined.

His fiction and poetry has appeared in: Art Times, nthposition, The Wanderlust Review, Ophelia Street, Caper, Polyphony, Dilate, Militant Roger, Chokecherries, Farmhouse, BENT, The 555 Collective, Instigator, Brass Sopaipilla, The Iconoclast, Adobe Walls, and Kansas City Voices. Lovely pictures. These are classic fables, and they are serious. But they are retold in exactly a page length. So this is a beautiful and thought-provoking read aloud.
