Camryn Rhys grew up on the border of Canada and the US, and still hasn’t decided which country to call home. She splits her time between the Alberta and Montana Rocky Mountains, with friends and family in both beautiful locations. After running her own restaurant for several years and acquiring advanced degrees in writing, foodie romance seemed the only logical option. When she’s not watching the Food Network, she’s reading a romance novel, or if absolutely necessary, working as a consultant. Someone has to put really excellent food on the table.

Formerly titled Fated Mate

Helena, half human, half shifter lives on the family ranch. She has had to endure the pack deriding her due to their intolerance towards human/shifter pairings. Her grandfather might be Alpha but that didn't stop him from hounding her mother away. Whilst making herself invaluable to the pack, she lets them goof off and leave her doing all the work! But when her own grandfather tells her to mate by the end of the weekend or else whilst at the Von Brandts ranch for a run, she is left reeling.

When she and a cousin decide to lick their wounds and let their hair down a little, she decides a little ONS is what she needs. She catches the eye of a human and their chemistry is off the charts!

Ash Carmichael never had much of a childhood, he was mostly raising his little sister but he is most definitely an adrenaline junkie now! But a broken ankle has forced him to stay for an extended visit in Somewhere with his sister and a night out in the local bar is just what he needs.

Ash and Helena had a fabulous night but she is forced to flee in the morning for the run. But with no sparks flying with the full blooded shifters she is crap out of luck on the Mate front. But when she starts to feel pain, pain that Ash is feeling, she realises her fated mate may not be of the furry variety!

Fab mash up of Somewhere, Tx, and the Von Brandts. With lost childhoods and parents enforced absences Helena and Ash had a lot to bond over. Fate has her work cut out for her with these two!

I was fortunate enough to receive an advanced reader copy of To Be Fated for a Mate in exchange for an honest review.

Aaron and Tonya were adorable. Him with his "we are superheroes" routine and her turning away every guy who approached her until their eyes met across the crowded bar. It's in that moment when you can feel the chemistry between them. In the gaze, without a single word being exchanged yet. A promise of a future yet untold. They're meant to be together. And somehow or another, it's going to happen. In this case, it takes a bottle of Jack.

This story was so sweet I loved them from the start. Although it was short, the story did not lack in character or steamy parts. I loved the characters and do hope we get to see more of them in future books.

A wonderful short story, packed with feelings. A prequel of the Somewhere, Texas Saga, the Vonbrandt Family. We learn how the matriarch's of the pack first met. Aaron, son of the pack leader, isn't sure he believes in that fated mate hogwash, but all it takes is one look to know he's been wrong. Mix this in with Tonya's recent tragedy and her struggle to find herself. Through in a bar a Date strikes again.
As this is a short story (one I didn't want to end) I don't want to say more. I think it's enough to say that finding such an amazing love in the midst of tragedy is a wonderful story.

Tragedy will take you to Somewhere, Texas........
As will fated love. I love that a chance meeting at a bar brought this couple together. The fact that Tonya was able to put her faith in Aaron when everything changed in an instant is a testament to her love for him. She put aside past hurts to be his rock and what he needed. They may have some tough times ahead, but together they will reach their HEA. I can’t wait to read the next book.

I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily chose to review it. I loved this book. I love this whole series. This book is well written and is worth your time. It was a quick easy read. I have to say Krystal Shannan has become one of my go to authors. I know when I see her name on a book I will be getting a great story.

Wow this was such a feel good story...heartbreak aside it was actually wonderful to read a story where the love was instant and differences accepted. Ms. Rhys and Shannan once again have written a romance that steals your heart.

Very fast read, but overall a very good story. Feels like it could be prequel to much deeper story.

I loved Aaron and Tonya’s short story. It was a really sweet read with a little heartbreak. I would have for it to have been longer but I still loved it a lot!
