This book was developed to aid law enforcement and security personnel in their jobs. These are dangerous professions in which a physical altercation is not a matter of if, but a matter of when. Every physical altercation has the potential to be fatal. In order to increase your odds of survival, it is necessary to seek out and train in defensive tactics and martial arts techniques.
However, due to the overly litigious nature of our society, surviving the physical altercation at any costs is not acceptable. To better meet the needs of the current American cultural climate, law enforcement and security personnel have to consider the physical safety of those who are attempting to do them harm.
This book presents the basic techniques and considerations that allow law enforcement and security personnel to end a physical altercation while using the least amount of force necessary to accomplish this goal. The techniques presented in this book are also the foundation for effective takedowns and weapons disarmament.

This book is being released at the same time as Move, Block, Basic Self-Defense for Everyone. The techniques offered in both of these books are the same. To be honest, we even used the same pictures. However, the target audience and guiding concepts are different.
In this book, we focus on the needs of law enforcement and security personnel. As such, you will see that we discuss concepts such as departmental and personal liability, the use of deadly force, the use-of-force continuum, and the need for follow on detention techniques.
Please understand that there is no need to purchase both Move, Block, Strike and Move, Block, Seize. These two books are different sides of the same coin. One focuses on law enforcement and security considerations while the other explores self-defense concepts that are not tied to departmental liability.
