Eve Carmichael can’t wait to graduate from college and move on with her life. Loner, outcast, and enemy of the dean, she tried her best to fit in, but all the money in the world can't buy genuine friends—or anonymity.

Then things take an unexpected turn when she witnesses a murder on campus. Especially because there's no evidence a crime ever happened the next day, and the five men responsible disappeared into thin air.

As she tries to unravel the mystery behind the phantom homicide, she finds herself on a dark and familiar path. With no-one else to trust, she seeks the help of an unlikely—but alluring—group of men. A group of men with one thing in common—an undying interest in her.

For better or worse, the rocker, the wanderer, the student, the therapist, and the adviser all have a part to play in fulfilling her destiny. Hopefully they can awaken her to the danger closing in before Eve gets herself killed.

Audible version. 3 star rating.
The good:
The authors are talented the book was well written & the narrator did a great job. I liked the h Eve Carmichael & the H(s) seemed interesting if mysterious. We learn Eve is a loner who has a history of having breaks with reality & as a result spent multiple years medicated. Her parents are high profile & her goal is to be as normal & live as average a life as possible. She’s attending University, is a chemistry major & teaching assistant but is having difficulties staying interested in her studies. Apart from Eve’s substance abuse (alcohol), bad decisions (drinking & driving) & lack of coping skills I actually liked Eve.

So why was I torn between giving this book a 2 or 3 rating? Simple answer the author’s failure to move the plot or romance forward. To be clear for the entire 5 hours & 18 min audible version of this book nothing happens, until the very last chapter & what progress does happen was minuscule. I feel the author wasted an exuberant amount of time on Eve doubting what she saw. In the end I was left as confused as I was in the beginning & wanting my audible credit refunded to me.

So why didn’t I DNF it & rate it a 1 Star? Great question. Although the book was filled with Eve’s suspicions she was in the midst of a psychotic episode, her self medicating (alcohol) & the paranoid ramblings that come with doubting ones sanity the author managed to have me immediately searching for book 2 upon completion of Eve of Eternal Night. TBH The reason I was searching for book 2 is the same reason I read book 1. The potential to make for a great series. So really my completing this story & rating amounts to I’m curious & FOMO.

So would I recommend this book?
No. It’s left me confused & unsatisfied. I can’t in good conscious recommend a book that was for all purposes an unsatisfactory read.

Will I continue the series?
Depends on how quickly book 2 is released & what reading material I happen to have on hand when it does. That said I found Dawn of Eternal Day (The Zodiac Curse: Harem of Light Book 1 which seems to be Eve’s counterpart. I’m learning from my mistake & saving my audible credit & just reading the kindle version for free KU. IF i do read it my hope is reading Dawn of Eternal Day helps resolve some of my unanswered questions.

While I am still mildly intrigued...this book has no plot.

Eve has vague experiences with shadowy people who might be murderers. Eve has low key revelations about her traumatic past. Eve sometimes randomly goes to college classes. Eve interacts with mysterious men. Sometimes, when Eve seems like she might be on to some sort of useful information, she instead gives up and goes to the bar to drink by herself. Eve randomly visits someone from her past and seemingly beats the fuck out of them for no reason and this event is never mentioned again. Eve muses vaguely about her diary of scribblings (about demons? I guess?) from back when she was cray cray.

Some mean dudes show up, the mysterious guys protect her, Eve figures out nothing and the book ends. No real climax, no conclusion. Just turn the page and there’s your author blurb.

Wut.

I dunno. I have kindle unlimited so I’d probably pick up the next one and see if Eve stops vaguebooking all over town or if it’s just more of the same wanderings. But I was left wondering what the point was and why the author didn’t turn this book into eight pages (it could legit be distilled down to that) and start the real story there.

⚡ Read for the KU Shitathon 2018 Challenge™ over at the MacHalos

2.5 Stars

Warning:
This review contains words. Many of them. Do not panic. The world isn't ending. I just sat my dragon butt down and actually scribbled some chickenscratch things down. Proceed with caution none the less.

When I added this in one of my lists on Amazon I did it cause the premise look interesting and cause I knew the author by name. I hadn't read anything by her by that time but I had bought a few of her books to read.

Then I added two of her books to these challenges of mine. Somehow I managed to forget who the author of this book was from the time I put it in my list earlier in the year to now when I started reading.

I am saying that cause this is the second book of hers I've read, first being From the Ashes (Force of Nature #1), and I was afraid this would follow in the other ones' footsteps and get 2 out of 2 on not good.

Based on these two books, Natusch seems to have a patern going. It starts out good for the first ⅓ of the book and then it goes from shit to shittier. Although I will admit this one didn't quite reach shittier. Let's see what we got here, shall we?

It started out great: I was liking Eve - sarcastic, pragmatic little wounded loner that she was - had no fucking clue what was going on - mainly cause nothing was happening but not in a bad way - and no plot was in sight yet - again not in a bad way. The building was good going. Up until we reached the 27% mark. This is when we were first transported to Shit Land.

The shit jump was triggered when

What closed this first jump and turned my hunch, that things will go downhill from here on out, a little more solid was Eve doing a complete 180° turn on her behaviour when she

My hunch turned out to be true, yet not quite: it did go downhill from there but it was done in a concentrated manner. Points of concentrated donwhillery™. Like when she

Who does that?!? Who? Noone that's who!

Those were the two major points of donwhillery for me, the Shit Jump Starters. One other thing that annoyed me is the fact that nothing really happens in this book: we got some action at the very end, but that was all. We also never got any info besides a couple of tidbits, again at the every end. Basically she met everyone and that's it! Here, I summed up the whole book for you:

Guy 1 - Fenris: Hello!!!!
Eve: Hello. Go away. *internal drooling*
Guy 2 - Stien: Hello. Today we are, tomorrow we aren't. Bye bye now.
Eve: uhm.. bye?
Guy 3 - Godrick: *Sex on a stick. 'Nuff said*
Eve: *I'm drooling. I'm scared. I'm lowkey ragging hormones*
Guy 4 - Gunnar: Hello. Let's help you deal with the issues the rest of my friends create and worsen in you.
Eve: Are you sure you're a therapist Doc?
Guy 5 - Ives: Sit the fuck down, stop being a sarcastic reaction and let me guide you damn it!
Eve: *sarcastic reaction intensifies*
~ Eve going out.
~ Out again.
~ Eve sees shit.
~ Big commotion happening
~ Tidbit, tidbit, tidbit.
The End.

Now no need to rate me five stars and give me your first born children. Muffins will do, lots and lots of muffins.

Yes I know I rated it three stars so I must have liked something, right? Meh. Ok fine, I did. Character wise I liked Eve, then I liked Gunnar, Godrick & Stien. The writing was decent even though it had its errors. I also liked how Eve's struggle with mental illness is portrayed and how very well it comes through. Honesty that is this books' saving grace and the reason I am giving it this rating. ⬅ That plus she isn't Piper Jones. I wouldn't recommend it but I wouldn't discourage anyone that might want to read it.

3.5 KU

This is well written, the reasons it lost star value is that it took almost 90% of the plot before the book managed to garner some pace. I apreciate that the initial part of a novel serves as an introduction to ideals, atmosphere and mood setting, but these factors seemed to go on forever with repetitive scenes and actions.

The characters are well formed, particularly the establishment of the protagonist which has a good depth and complexity. This author is one of those that would appear to write more than one series at a time, with two separate novels released before we even get an indication of when the next book in this particular series will arrive, which in my opinion is too long. So, maybe I’ll come across the next book, or maybe I will just have forgotten about it.

Eve of Eternal Night was only the third or fourth book that I read in the reverse harem genre. I love the paranormal element that Amber brings into her reverse harem genre. For me, it adds more.

The blurb really tells it all - if I give you anything else, I will be pretty much summarizing the book for you and well, I won't ruin it for anyone.

Amber does a great job of building the characters and this story. I found myself trying to figure things out along the way and how it will pan out. It's quite an intriguing read watching Eve meet each of these men and how she re-acts to them. She finds herself attracted to them in a different ways, while a few are more alluring than others to her. It's all so damn intriguing.

I love that Amber does not give us everything in this book. She builds us up knowing that something is coming and gives us a small taste of that, but leave us with wanting more. This is her shortest book ever written, which I am sure was difficult for her. Amber is known for amazing stories, character building and suspenseful plots. And there is definitely not shortage of that in this book.

I can't wait for the next book in this series.

“Maybe I don’t want it to. Maybe I like the path of most resistance.”

“Then you’re in for one hell of a bumpy ride.”

And it was the best kind of bumpy!

This was a super fast read for me.

(Which is a sign of a really great book for me, because I just can't stop!)

I am intrigued by all of the characters and desperate to know more.

(Which is not to say that we don't learn a ton, I just want to know it all now!) In fact I hope this becomes a very long series, because it seems like there is so much to explore.

I adored this take on how the harem comes to be, and allows for "insta-love" that isn't really.

Highly recommended.

Oh holy hell.

I. HATED. THIS. BOOK.

LOATHED even.

It should never take 150 pages to get to the catalyst of a book. Which is pretty much what this felt like. The entirety of the book, best I could tell what with it having next to no plot, was dedicated to detailed exposition about the current status quo. What was going on in Eve's life currently and what had happened to her when she was 18. Sort of.

And what did all this exposition show us about the past and the status quo/current situation, you might well be justified in asking? Because the author has spent 150 pages telling us, so we should have plenty of detail. Right?

WRONG.

Because we never actually find out what happened when she turned 18, just that it was a big issue of some sort that made her think she was completely cray-cray.

And all we see of the current situation is Eve stumbling around like panicked mouse in a roomful of hungry cats, pinballing from one situation to another. From one inexplicably appearing guy to another. From one emotion to the next. From one location to another. From...you get the idea. She is just randomly bouncing all over the place with ZERO thought process occurring other than reactionary panic.

She refuses to discuss anything with anyone, despite numerous outlets that she purports to trust at the time. She refuses to THINK before doing anything. She refuses to apply logic to any situation. She refuses to DO anything.

What does she do instead, you might be justified in asking?

Good question!

She stuffs her head in the sand like an ostrich and ignores it all. She flutters about her panic and her fear and her racing pulse. She drinks tequila like a fish then goes stumbling around in the worst and most dangerous places. And when that wasn't stupid enough, she downs a bunch of pills, walks in the dark to a bar, downs a bunch more tequila, then decides it makes sense to go out the back door and stand in the dark in an alley. YEP. TSTL.

I wish she'd just died.

I can't even say I want to read the companion DAWN OF ETERNAL DAY series, I am so fed up at the moment. The only thing that might make me consider it is maybe Eve's antagonist isn't such an idiot. Maybe she has a brain cell in her blonde head. But at the moment, I am doubtful.

Honestly, I am finding it difficult to care about the bit of a possible plot that showed up in the last few pages enough to consider reading the next book when it comes out.

We'll see if my frustration ebbs enough to give it a try by the time it does.

(Because we all know it's not the brightest idea to review while pissed off. Sorry folks!)

UPDATE PROGRESS NOTES:
98% "Yeah...what happened to the giant painful goose-egg on the back of her head, plus the concussion? Suddenly all that disappeared. Along with the puke breath. *sigh*"

96% "Uh...isn't all this kissing going on after she puked her guts out? And I am damn sure she hasn't brushed her teeth. Gross."

93% "Alright...if Godric was capable of making her remember like that, why the fuck didn't he do that way before now? Perhaps even instead of knocking her out and panicking her even more the night before? Honestly, I hate this book."

86% "Why the hell wouldn't you have him come to your apartment you twit? Crossing campus to his office in your state is absurd. TSTL."

81% "Yeah, no shit. You are one."
I felt like a fool.
80% "Yeah. 'Cause that is REAL smart. Idiot."

77.0% "Holy fucking shit. I. HATE. THIS. STUPID. MC."

76.0% "Not to mention just pinballing from panicked reaction to panicked reaction without a single coherent thought process. Refusing to talk to ANYONE to try to make sense of things. Scared of being hunted but not letting anyone stay around who could help her.

This is UNBELIEVABLY FRUSTRATING."

75.0% "This chick is so unbelievably TSTL.

She thinks murderers are coming after her and she is desperate to avoid them. So her solution is to run to a bar and get drunk, then go wandering around outside "letting the cool air clear her mind". Yeah. Right. Smart cookie."

55.0% "Yep, it's official. I hate this MC. She is jumpy, nervous, neurotic, paranoid, illogical, and completely TSTL. And all of those traits are making this a very uncomfortable read."

50.0% "Not to mention, with an iPhone, there is every chance that the picture was already uploaded to the Cloud and she could log into her account to get the picture. Unless that feature had never been set up, but most people do use it."

50.0% "And this panic is silly. She had an iPhone, you can remote wipe them if they are stolen. Can't tell you how many times I see this issue with authors. Do none of them know about the "Find My Phone" feature and remote wipe?"

48.0% "Okay, take a picture, fine. Shout out to the murderer to let him know you are doing it....STOOOPID! I am starting to get really frustrated with this MC."

48.0% "This is ridiculous. The timing is all wrong. It has only been a day or three since she saw the body, and part of that was the weekend. So there has been no time for it to impact her classes due to lack of sleep or the memories. Too much is being made of this so far which makes it a weak plot device."

13.0% "LMAO "A wizened air and a rugged handsomeness about him" makes zero sense. It is rather an oxymoron actually. Not to mentioned being wizened at 30ish is absurd."

8.0% "Umm...what's the ridiculously snotty attitude Eve? So far, I am not liking this chick at all."

This was a fun little unreliable narrator book. I loved it so hard!
We have college student Eve, who may or may not see things that aren't there. The Dean is on her butt, her only friend is an awkward fellow chemistry TA, and she has some daddy issues.
She meets five new men in seperate situations and they all take on their own story arcs until everything meets up again at the end. Think lots of intrigue and intertwining plot lines. It was a nice change up to the conventional RH where she meets a group of guys and gets brought into the fold. The guys were all different without being stereotype characters, and I *may* have picked a favourite already.
I loved Eve. She's broken and she knows it, but she keeps going and fights for what she wants. She isn't afraid to ask for help either, thank you hallelujah! I've read so many books where the heroine goes off stubbornly on her own and just makes everything worse. Eve knows something's wrong and actually calls someone and tracks them down for assistance. She may get a little drunk first, but I did mention she has issues.
There's a lot left unresolved and everything is basically unanswered at the end, which just makes you want to read it more. I need to know. I really do.

This a book written by someone who can obviously write, but sadly, you go through 150 pages of well written nothing. Absolutely nothing happens in this book. Which is fine for the first 50% cause you were distracted by the decent writing. Then you start checking the kindle percentage, then at about 80% you check Goodreads —- nope, glowing reviews. At 90% you check again. At 100% you’re just left going....WTAF.

Wow! This is an exciting story about Eve, a student, who thinks she is going mad! Her parents are famous which has consequences for Eve and gas made her live her life as a loner.

Strange things are happening to and around Eve and she thinks she is having mental issues and as well as being scared she has no idea what is going on

This is extremely well written, the writer kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through, and I admit I had no real clue what was going on which made it all the more exciting for me as I was trying to piece it all together

Full of excitement and drama, I thoroughly enjoyed this story and am very excited for the next book, it kept my attention and excited me to keep reading

I’ve been waiting on this book for FOREVER! I knew Amber would be amazing at RH since the moment I found her Force of Nature series. It’s still my favorite of hers, but she really gave it a run for its money with this book. You’ll fall in love with Eve and her guys in the start to this amazing new series.

Buy it. Read it. Love it.

Talk a about a hot, Hot,HOT mess.... and a slow “burn” with wet matches ...

Talk a about a hot, Hot,HOT mess.... and a slow “burn” with wet matches ...
You know I hate it where it me or anyone else starting a review with the phrase I really wanted to like this buuuuuuut, it just feels wrong or maybe I’ve seen it sooo many times it just feels cliche but sadly it’s just true none the less ....
The writers technique and style shows as far as writing she knows what she’s doing hence the 3 stars from me, I kept thinking smart her writing was,but sadly the characters and the plot ? Not. So. Much.
Eve is honestly a huge, ginormous, monstrous did I say ginormous( yep,I did )boiling seeping hideously hot mess, too many adjectives ?
No, I don’t think soo well this writer has great skills in constructing a story, but I just can’t say anything good about the characters ...
Eve almost literally runs around like a chicken w/her head cut off , paranoid and neurotic, not trusting ANYONE!!!!
Not even or most especially herself, and I couldn’t find any thing to connect to or relate to her,she doesn’t seem to have any true interest in or truly care about anything not herself because she is soo much a TSTL character at times ( will come back to that) no friends ( her genius but socially autistic “friend” Charlie doesn’t count because she only talks to her like twice) no family ( they are a mess and supposedly the root of all evil in her life) she doesn’t even have s cat a dog or a house plant she cares about ...
She just runs from class to her apt. sometimes to class ( even though supposedly she’s a teaching assistant ( though how or why since she hates to do anything I don’t know) she barely sleeps or eats, just literally runs around bumping into the men( who act like clueless morons, trying to push her in a certain direction but herding a pack of wild cats might be more fun and rewarding not to mention easier...
She starts off at a party, but other then to set up the story we don’t know why, she’s basically anti social ( the world all seems to be against her because of her parents soo why bother is her motto) and doesn’t seem to care about any ones opinion soo I didn’t get why she was there, she meets of on the guys, thinks she sees a murder on the way home and spends the rest of the story knocking around like a ball off the flippers in a pin ball game, it was tiring and yet boring and frustrating to watch...
TSTL ( Too Stupid to live) because in the midst of having legitimate reasons to actually foe her life, what’s her solution?
Finally trust someone and get help and trust herself and them ? Heck No! It’s to got get drunk alone at a bar in a rough part of town .....
Righttttt...
I got the feeling this was a rinse and repeat for her and all these men ( who seemed like complete and utter morons) Eve is kinda like a Phoenix in the sense she gets killed off from time to time but is reborn and these men are her lovers and warriors and sadly when ever she returns it’s up to them to find her and help her each time help her remember and recover who she is, well she’s a mess and the suck at what they do...
You’d think they’d have this down pat by now,how to talk to her,get thru to her but dear lord I don’t know who was more clueless them or her...
Three of them try to establish a foot hold in her life as a advisor or therapist or friend but the all soo achingly fail it was painful to watch and the inter too are just random encounters ,no p.o.v.s from the men to help, and like Eve we needed all the help we could get...
I didn’t feel her connection to anyone, slow burn ?
WTF, all we had was wet matches here...
No love, no lust nothing really, the only truly tender moment where Eve really tried to connect w/anyone or anything was w/an abused pit bull at the animal shelter age volunteers at...
But the men were random and clueless and she was just a big TSTL mess , by the time I got to the end of this I couldn’t wait for it to be over and I was angry and frustrated with the writer and characters and for me for wasting my time...
How the heck any one can read this neurotic paranoid mess and give it beyond 3 stars is beyond me, this chick wasn’t like able and she barely had the sense to get out of the rain and I’m getting frustrated again for not summing up my feelings about this faster....
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa, this book has taken way too much from me, just grateful KU ..
I wish as far as “enjoyment “ goes I wish I could give -0 stars...
Never again, I’m making sure I write this writers name down soo I don’t make mistake again....

We meet Eve Carmichael, a college student born and raised in the spotlight of her famous actress mother and her star lawyer father. Trying to stick to the side-lines as much as she can, Eve just wants to finish school and move on.
As she goes home from a party she is witness to a murder, however, nobody believes her: there is no body, no blood and no evidence.
Trying to make sense of what she saw she meets a couple of men that make her want to open up her heart again, whom each in their own way feel familiar.
All the while the shadows are getting closer and her life is in danger.

My take on the book:
Hmm.. where to start... I was soooo looking forward to reading this book! When you read the blurb you immediately understand this is a great plot/beginning to the story. The prologue makes you even more curious and gives you a glimpse of things to unfold...

And then there was nothing :(

It could be me... but I just felt the book went nowhere. It was like a light switch that was turned on and off throughout: ON: yeah, now we're getting somewhere / OFF: okay, never mind.. back to the start.
While Eve hasn't had a great life up till now, she's an alcoholic (who goes out to a bar in a shady part of town... by herself... while scared shitless... to get drunk) with severe commitment issues (not even in relationships - I could understand that - but school, being a TA, ...)
The men... you didn't get a feel for them, at all, they just stumbled through the story.
Of course you don't expect 'love at first sight' but at least you could have some connection, a spark, anything! For the guys however, it pretty much felt like a chore to help Eve. Some tried to be part of her everyday life, others you hardly saw at all.
I just... don't know what to think of this, and this is obviously not a feeling I like. I nearly feel the need to apologise for this review... but this truly is my honest opinion: It had a lot of potential and you got nothing :'(

All in all... no, it didn't do it for me. The beginning (prologue) and the ending were (for me) the best parts of the book. At this time I'm really not sure if I will read the other books in this series.

Dark, thriller and reverse harem? Seems like an overkill combination of my favorite genres-and dead is what I am. Incorporate a touch of emotions and other psychological struggles welling up from the deepest pits of the soul? This is that book. This one's definitely for me.

From the very start of that ominous prologue-ish, I'm hooked and salivating. Then there's the compelling writing style that I'm familiar with the author. Although, honestly, this is so far the best she's written and obviously my favorite one.

Oh, Eve, the supposed to be indifferent, problematic, loner heroine. This one does fit the cool and mysterious image to the T. Setting aside the unusual but seemingly only natural attraction to the five, equally dark, heroes, Eve is my superheroine. Downright a flawed character, such as daddy & trust issues, insecurities, and whole other bucketful of vulnerabilities, I'm totally sold to her.

I admit I see red the moment I realized I have finished reading. Just when I'm at that height, wherein I have bitten my nails to the nailbeds (metaphorically speaking), story ends. Ughhh.

But anyway, yeah, for all my grumbling, I will most definitely wait for the next installment. Because what else is there for me to do?

Overall, aside from loving these intense characters, I love the buildup of the plot and settings. But like the greedy reader I am, I. Want. More!!!

This book was different than all her other books. It’s a reverse harem series meaning lots of guys one girl. Ooooh!!
So we meet Eve and she’s a cool tough cookie!!

She’s had the shitty parents and the shitty life with psychological problems she’s had to fix with heavy meds.

This time off her meds she starts seeing things again... which is making her nervous because that’s what got her on the meds in the first place.

Seeing murders that haven’t taken place. Shadows in her peripheral vision that move.

Then she meets five random guys that seemingly have a pull towards her.

This book was on the awesome side!! Totally cannot wait till the second one already!! I have a feeling it’s going to be one hell of a ride!!

I'm a huge fan of RH and this author, so there was no way I wasn't going to love this book. What I hadn't expected was how different it was from Natusch's other series. She always writes kick arse characters, but Eve is very complex and I feel as though we only scratched the surface in this book.

This story really sets down some of the foundations for the series, but we are still left with many, many questions.

Eve is a rich college kid with a huge chip on her shoulder. Her life becomes more complicated when she meets a number of new men and is thrust into a destiny that both she and the reader only just begin to explore. So many questions! So many yummy men with old fashioned names! So cannot wait until the next book!

WOW! With the first word of the prologue, you will be drawn in, intrigued by what is to come, and on the edge of your seat. As always, Amber weaves an intricate and mysterious story with delicious new book boyfriends and a broken, kick-ass heroine. This non-stop roller coaster ride of nail-biting drama and psychological thrills will lead to an intense ending that will leave you dying for more. Buckle up and dive in. This one does not disappoint!

Interesting Storyline

Overall I liked this book. Majority of the book was centered around character building which made it difficult at times to keep my interest. I'm glad that I did though because most of the action takes place in the last part of the book which sets the tone for the rest of the series. From a RH perspective it's definitely a slow burn. Looking forward to the next book.

Intriguing

This was a different story that will leave your head all messed right along with poor Eve. We really have a ton more questions than answers and none of them get answered in this book.

Slow burn progression

It's an interesting read that I can honestly say has me stumped w regards to where it is headed- that being said I can't expound on the concept. I enjoyed the writing, the dialogue worked, and there was time to introduce all the main characters and get a feel for them even if not to really flush them all out (I expect that will come w the next books in the series). Character wise we have 5 guys and 1 woman. eve is our main characters ter, fenris (fellow student), godric (bad boy, rocker), gunnar (psychologist), stien (counselor) and ives (astronomy buff). Eve is this little rich girl who has the typical daddy issues and woes, which after a while became a little much until we get towards the end when the author begins explaining the real trouble she has had: seeing demons and being heavily medicated for it. The plot progression was slow in this book and didn't truly get to the goods until towards the end (I've read really great series that have started the same way though). It does leave us on a cliffhanger and I'm not sure when the next book is coming out (it is July 2019 now and this came out Jan or Feb 2018). I'm more than a little excited that this Harem of Shadows is a sister series to a series that will be written by cn Crawford called Harem of Light; I'm super intrigued to see how this goes! It is a slow burn reverse harem as there is only a little kissing so far. Mild violence. Mild to no profanity. All in all, by the end I was entertained and ready to continue with another book.

Love this genre, love this book, and especially LOVE this author! Amber Lynn Natusch is one of a kind, she can really do it all. It’s official. And super exciting/annoying (jk).

This book was so different from her other series, and I loved that! I am a huge fan of all her series, but you just never know what to expect when an author tries a new genre and RH can be hit or miss. Well Eve and her boys were definitely a hit!!

Eve of Eternal Night is a quick paced read, and super enjoyable. I loved every minute of Eve meeting the men of her dreams. Makes a girl a tiny bit jealous 😉 The characters each had their own quirks and special qualities to separate them from one another in the story. I loved The scenes with Eve getting to know each guy, it made the story more realistic and each relationship more real. I will Not tell you who my favorite man is because quite honestly I can’t decided. Stay tuned for book 2!! I love The way Eve’s character is portrayed. She tough witty and quite the stubborn little chick. I thought Her back story was informative, and really brought more to the story. I cannot Wait to learn more!

I cannot be any more clear then to come right out and say how highly I recommend you picking up this book now!

Another series to love from Amber Lynn Natusch

Venturing into the world of reverse harem has proved to be an awesome decision for Amber! I LOVED this book! As with the rest of her series, I was hooked from the beginning. I loved Eve and the relationships she developed with the men in her life. Sexy time is great, but as the first book in this series, I appreciated that there was time spent to build up the different relationships and that I found myself swooning for the characters themselves instead of just being thrown into a lot of hot and heavy scenes and relying on that chemistry to determine if I liked that person or not. Right now, I'm appreciating the build up and can't wait to see how things develop in the next book and later in the series. I think this would be a perfect introduction to reverse harem for those new to it but interested in the genre. I also believe that if you have enjoyed any of the other books\series from Amber, you'll enjoy this as well. As always Amber keeps you guessing and asking questions as she hooks you into the world she's created and leaves you dying to know what happens. I can't wait to see what happens next!

So let me start off by saying the writing was great as was the editing. My issue was the blurb set it up as the Eve witness a murder and then men will help her and expected romance. What I got was Eve saw a murder, can't find any evidence that it happened and along with other things starts to think she is going crazy. The guys are sometimes helping her and sometimes actually making it much worse. Eve didn't see it but it was very obvious the men were keeping things from her for "good reasons" or "they don't have a choice". Once one of them even hurts her "for her own good". While it is clear there is some sort of supernatural connection between Eve and her men, it was so hard for me to enjoy it when they are on such unequal footing and Eve is having a mental break down and in some ways isn't in a place to consent. This feels more like a physiological thriller/paranormal suspense at this point then a romance considering the number of times it feels like the guys let her down.

I'm sure it will get better in the next book, but I am not sure I am hooked enough to read and find out.

I tried I really tired with this one, but this one just did not do it for me :( There is little world building or much of an introduction to Eve and her life. The story jumped around from page 1. It seemed to fast forward at parts and left you wondering in you had somehow missed a page. This included important parts of the story like the murder she witnesses (no not a spoiler since this is mentioned in the description). She is literally walking home one night and in the sentence describing her walk home, it mentions seeing a "bloody scene" a body and a call to the police. That is literally all the detail you get for this hugely important event in the plot. And the next thing you know it is morning. Yet the frat party she was at got a lot more detail. In a lot of scenes, it seemed to be a telling and showing rather than doing type of thing.

I love Amber Lynn Natusch as an author. She is incredible at creating strong, developed characters that pull you in. I started with the Force of Nature series, and I’ve been working through Unseen and Blue Eyed Bomb. Without fail, every single book draws you in. It’s why I haven’t read Caged yet - nine books is a lot, and the rest of my life will go by the wayside until I read all of them.

Eve of Eternal Night is no different than the others. It draws you in straight away with Eve, whose story you can’t help but feel for. She’s so misunderstood, and she’s created this shell around herself that you just want to see someone get through. You start to see some of the guys get through to her in a way that no one else has been able to, before all hell breaks loose. I will definitely look forward to book 2.

This book was amazing! I love everything about this author and her first venture into RH was no different!

We follow Eve, a woman who sees things and has been deemed 'crazy' a majority of her life due to this. But we learn she's not crazy and there's a reason she sees them.

Eve is everything I love in a FMC. She's sassy, snarky, confident. She knows her worth and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. But she also has her vulnerable moments. Which makes her feel more real.

And her guys. In RH it's very important to have distinct difference between them so we can tell them apart. The author executive this flawlessly. Personalities didn't bleed and blend together. Each male is unique in looks and personality.

Amber gave us many questions with book 1. I can't wait for book 2
