A short Valentine’s Day story by USA Today Bestselling Authors Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine
Christmas has always been Carter Pierce’s favorite holiday. But with his partner, Dr. Vaughn Bennett, working crazy hours in the ER, it’s difficult to make any kind of plans.
Easter was an appendectomy. Thanksgiving, a ruptured spleen. And Christmas had called Vaughn away to work for Doctors Without Borders.
So when the calendar hits February 14th, Carter expects it will be just another day when he kisses his man goodbye so he can go and save the world. Little does he know that Vaughn has a huge surprise up his sleeve—one that will change their lives forever.

The good: This story was sweet and unbelievably romantic.
The bad: It was so sweet and romantic that it crossed the line into cheesy.
The MCs could take anything and make it into sexual innuendo. Anything. Frequently. A page didn't go by where it didn't happen.
The ugly: One of the MCs in this book is an ER doctor. As a former ER nurse who does a little of many things in health care now, I'm always interested to see how this would be portrayed.
1. Dr. Vaughn Bennett, the ER doctor in question, is "on call" a lot and tends to miss many holidays with Carter. See, ER doctors don't take call. They work shift work.
2. Carter meets Vaughn when he goes into the ER with a nasty laceration to his face (described as very deep) after being hit with a football.
.......................
wait, wut? Unless the football had a glass shard hanging off of it, I'm fairly sure this injury would not cause a deep laceration that needed stitches. It could cause one helluva bruise though.
3. "He was tall, maybe six two, with a head full of thick blond hair and a white lab coat with the name Dr. Vaughn Bennett, MD inscribed above the left pocket." <----No, I assure you, that wasn't the inscription. Doctors frequently have their names embroidered on their lab coats, for sure. However they EITHER have "Dr. Vaughn Bennett" OR "Vaughn Bennett, MD". NOT BOTH. It's repetitive. It'd be like saying "Doctor Vaughn Bennett Doctor."
4. And the granddaddy of all pet peeves: "Nurse Kathy said you didn't appear to have a concussion."
Facepalm.
Kathy is Vaughn's colleague. They work together. He wouldn't call her "Nurse Kathy" anymore than you'd call a fellow waiter "Waiter Dave." He'd call her "Kathy"!!!! My husband laughs anytime a medical show or movie comes on if he sees my face when a doctor calls "Nurse!" when he needs help. We actually know each other's names, and if we don't, we say "excuse me?" like normal people.
Ella Frank certainly has quite a following. Are you telling me she couldn't be bothered to get one, single person in her life or fanbase to beta this story, who works in health care? Lazy.
A quick read that had me grinning and sighing the whole time so much love and sexiness. I liked that they were an already established couple who seemed to be more in love than ever and getting those couple of glimpses of how they met and when they first declared their love. Another solid read for in between heavier books, it sure lighted up my reading mood. ♥️
Wrapped Up in You was a super short but super sweet novella that I absolutely adored. Carter and Vaughn are a couple that have been together for years but in their story we're giving glimpses of their favorite moments together, such as their first meeting and first date.
I loved that even in such a short book these authors still delivered a huge about of love and a very evident connection between the characters. It was super sweet and perfect for when you just want to sit and enjoy a heartwarming romance. It definitely gets a big recommendation from me.
Set during an established couples special Valentine’s Day celebration—but channelling more of a Christmas-come-late vibe—Wrapped Up in You is all things deliciously sweet and deeply romantic, with a sappy HEA that will make your teeth ache and your heart grow two sizes.
I personally am not much of a fan of established couple stories (unless it’s a sequel), so being thrown years into a relationship and being expected to care too deeply about a past I never witnessed is a hard ask for me as a romance reader. Having said that, Frank and Blaine did an excellent job painting a cosy picture of what life and love was like for Dr. Vaughn Bennett and his teacher boyfriend, the wonderfully supportive and understanding Carter Pierce. With the help of a few nicely timed flashbacks to first meetings and first dates, this story managed to provide a pretty wonderful snapshot of just how perfect this couple are together and why.
For a short 72-page story, this was a quick and enjoyable read. Carter and Vaughn didn’t get much page time, that's true, but they did manage to put a smile on my dial, so that’s time well spent as far as I’m concerned.
This short novella was just packed full of emotion. To make up for missing so many holidays because of his job as an emergency room doctor, Vaughn recreates the Christmas he missed (Due to being overseas with Doctors Without Borders) for Carter on Valentine's day complete with all the trimmings and then a trip down memory lane with gifts hightlighting their 3 years together. This story is done sooooooo well... lots of happy tears, some hotness and a whole ton of love. Vaughn is so dreamy and Carter is so adorable in that clutzy, nerdy way that totally reminds me of myself (yes I just implied I am adorable, deal with it), all I wanna know is when do I get my Vaughn! The story ends with what you might expect and though I was expecting it, it is done in a wonderfully over top finale that completely satisfied me. This was an incredibly enjoyable and uplifting read... if you like stories with tons of love and good feels with no angst you will LOVE this!
It is so freaking cute! Call it cheesy, call it cringy. But it wasn't. I just love these two guys loving each other. ❄️❄️❄️ Damn, all the Christmas feels ❄️❄️❄️
***Beautiful, delightful, heartfelt short story.***
It's Valentine's Day and Carter is fretting that Vaughn might be called to work. That happens often to his doctor / boyfriend every holiday. But, Carter has a magnificent surprise (surprises) from Vaughn that he's not expecting. Just in these pages, we get a love story that we'll never forget. Super sweetness. Fantastic. ENJOY !
Vaughn and Carter have been together for three years now. But since Vaughn is an ER doc, Christmases and Valentine's Days tend to ... not happen. And Carter LOVES every single holiday. That's why Vaughn surprises the love of his life with a Christmas-on-Valentine's-Day extravaganza!
♥ ADORABLE ♥
How can such a short story be so adorable?! Vaughn and Carter are amazing. And so in love. But of course due to Vaughn's job, they don't have as much time together as they want. But Vaughn's surprise Valentine's Christmas is making up for it big time!
We also go back in time a few times to see how they met and fell in love. Mega adorbs!!! I can't wait to see those 2 hotties come alive on Passionflix next year!!!
Oh, and also... Brooke and Ella put the first chapter of their new books in the back of this one and WHAT!!?!?!? Brooke!?!?! You can't leave me hanging like that!!! What happened to Reid??? I NEED THAT BOOK ASAP! And Robbie's book too! It feels like I've been waiting for his story for forever! HURRY Ella!!!!
An adorable MM Valentine's Day (and Christmas) themed short story by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine! I love this two authors writing together and I can't wait to see this cute novella come to movie form in 2019. Definitely check it out if you want a quick sweet MM love story!
My review will be up tomorrow when I'm at the laptop.
ETA: Here you go.
This is how a book captures your heart and wraps it up in a warm fluffy blanket covered in pink hearts and rainbows.
Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank’s surprise release – Wrapped Up In You – is a gorgeous Valentine’s Day smorgasboard of tender moments, sweet memories, passionate embraces, romantic gestures and loving kisses between Vaughn and Carter and I loved every bit of it.
Written especially for Passionflix, (a premium streaming entertainment service for romance fans, creating original movies from romance novels as well as screening Hollywood classics), this short story will leave you smiling and – perhaps – pining for your own Vaughn.
The story is simple, an exploration of how Vaughn and Carter met, plus a demonstration in no uncertain terms, of just how much Carter means to him. But it’s in the little details where these two authors shine.
The reader is led gently through an exploration backwards in time from the moment the book starts across the three years the men have been together, to where it all began – a bed in an ER room and a cut head and the chemistry between them oozes off the page.
It’s only a short story but it packs a big punch and I can’t wait to see it on the screen/laptop etc next February 2019.
#ARC kindly received from the authors in return for an honest and unbiased review.

I guess I'm a little late to the party, but still manage to make it before Valentine's day. Wrapped Up in You is by far my favorite novella ever. The authors manage to make me fall in love with Carter and Vaughn in just 72 pages and we even get to witness how they met and fell in love. I'm so in love with them since page 1 and it was as sweet and cheesy as a Valentine's special should be. When I saw 'The End' I'm a little pissed because I don't want to let go of both of them. I don't watch TV anymore, but I will definitely be subscribing to Passionflix on February 2019 just to watch this!
This one was short but super sweet almost cheesy but I can’t complain! There is zero angst in this cute little Valentine‘s day short story ,what I absolutely needed right now. The tension and chemistry between Carter and Vaughn were amazing💕. This was a perfect read for shutting my brain off☺️
This was just the cutest and one of the best short story I've ever read. I loved Vaughan and Carter and the flashbacks were an amazing touch to the story. Loved it! And the chapters from Brooke Blaine & Ella Frank's upcoming novels were an absolute tease. I really can't wait for those books.
It's about a cute couple that randomly meet when Carter, the quirky teacher needs stitches and Vaughn, the hot, tall, blonde doctor comes into his life and turns everything upside down.
At present they've been in a relationship for 3 years and own a home and Vaughn is creating a magic Christmas for Carter on Valentine's Day, since Vaughn is an ER doctor and has a crazy working schedule, so they can't normally plan to spend holidays or other things together.
Vaughn is so thoughtful and attentive and makes Carter insanely happy by them going down the memory lane with all the presents Carter gets, the last being an engagement ring.
Even though the story is very short, both MMCs are lovable and memorable. They have an amazing relationship and I would've liked to have just a little bit of spice involved, it looked like their bedroom moments are fire.
This story should've been extended into a full length book.
Vaughn and Carter have been together for three years. With Vaughn’s busy job as an ER doctor they have missed out on a lot of major holidays together.
But Vaughn has big plans for Valentine’s Day to make up his absence to the love of his life. It is a really quick read and I loved getting to know them. The flashbacks were really intriguing, arousing my curiosity. I REALLY wanted to know more!
This was so OTT but I still melted! I need to find out how to convert my ebook to an audio file, strap hubby to the bed, give him a headset and have him listen to this. He could learn a thing or two from Vaughn.
I did like this book, but I needed more! I felt like this was a follow up novella for something I haven't read. It was just too short. However, it was really sweet... maybe too sweet. I did enjoy the excerpt for Robbie's story. TBH, it read kind as a bdsm novel. I really hope not because it's not my fave genre.😢
Oh my sweetness! This is JUST what I needed today!
Brooke and Ella have given us a surprise Valentine's novella, and I just can't keep the smile off my face!
Carter and Vaughn's story is just the sweetest, most adorable and loving short I have read. Told in both present tense and flashbacks we get the story of our lovelies relatioship.
I smiled, I laughed, my heart soared as we follow them on their beautiful Valentine's Day.
Even better news though, is that this has been picked up by Passionflix and will be made into a film - though we won't be getting this one until 2019 boooooo.
Please ladies, go quote Britney. Gimme more, gimme gimme more!
Wrapped up in you is a short story written by Ella Frank & Brooke Blaine. And will be featured on PassionFlix in early 2019!
This is seriously the most adorable little story you will ever read. Super short and sweet, and Insanely romantic with the cutest moments and sexy banter too! Carter Pierce and Vaughn Bennett will melt your heart and warm you up just in time for the cold weather of February.
I’ve been feeling the post-flu blues and this unbelievably cute story was just what I needed to put a smile back on my face and make me feel all warm and cozy. It’s seriously the cutest! Plus, in the back you get the first chapter of Forget Me Not by Brooke, AND the first chapter of Ella’s upcoming release, Confessions: Robbie!
I liked the story in general. It's sweet, I might catch a diabetes for this one only. I want my own Vaughn. But as a medical professional, I found some annoying mistakes with title. And also, I kept imagining how Vaughn did his examination while he's sitting on a chair and Carter sit in the bed, and failed. The position just ain't right. There was some more that I won't bother to mention. Maybe if I'm just focused on the Valentine's story, this would be fine. Sorry Ella.😫
Zero angst in this Valentine’s Day short story from these fab authors. Told through a series of flashbacks, we get to see how Vaughn and Carter ended up where they are.
Fade to black sex, but there is good tension and chemistry between the characters.
Perfect for a lunchtime read over a cup of tea or coffee.
Well that was cute ❤️ would have preferred more of Carter & Vaughn’s story than cut out at 60% to give an excerpt of another book ... I don’t like that - it’s a bit lazy !
